My Little Pony: Highschool

New Student

"I don't know Cadance, I just don't feel like I fit in at all in the Canterlot highschool. I don't want to drop out, is it possible to talk to Princess Celestia about moving to a smaller one? you know...with less powerful and boastful unicorns? it feels like magic kindergarten but 100 times worse." Twilight Sparkle explained.

Princess Cadance, who had started out as Twilight's foalsitter and was now her right-wing and a princess herself gave her a sympathetic look. Every weekend Twilight, Cadance, Luna, and Celestia would meet up to have important meetings discussing anything they wanted. Usually princess duties, but when they weren't, they were helping Twilight with her studies.

"Well, I could ask her and her sister about it. I'm just worried it'll be even harder for you to fit into a normal Highschool Twilight, you're different from the other unicorns, that and you weren't very social in your elementary school or primary years, how do we know this is going to work?" Cadance asked.

Twilight frowned, knowing she had a point. "Please Cadance, this might be the only chance I have to excel in school. I don't want to be special, I just want to fit in with everypony else."

"Well, okay. I'll see what I can do, Celestia will probably understand, she only wants what's best for you. But she also wants you to meet other ponies, it won't do you any good if you coast through life having nobody but yourself and the princesses by your side."

Leading Twilight over to the royal corridors inside of the castle, they walked over to Luna and Celestia, who were sitting by a gold table waiting for them. Upon seeing Twilight's dreary state, Celestia shot up in alarm. "Twilight? is everything alright? usually you're happy to see us."

"Oh, actually Celestia, Me and Cadance need to talk to you about something." Twilight confessed, averting her eyes to the pink alicorn who too looked anxious. "Twilight feels like she doesn't fit into her highschool in canterlot. She was wondering if it was okay with you of course, to forge her degree into a better school somewhere else." Cadance finished for her.

"Ponyville preferably." Twilight added quickly. Celestia exchanged a suspicious glance with her sister, who look equally as dumbfounded. "But it's the best school here, Twilight! You've been getting nothing but straight A's in all of your classes, the teachers are strict, but they are impressed with your grades."

"It's not that! it's the ponies. They all act better than me, they know more than I do, they're all better at magic. I want to go to a school and meet friends, just like you told me. I can still study at home, I mean, I always do that when I can." Twilight pleaded. "Give me a chance, I promise I won't screw this up."

Luna reached into a nearby drawer with her magic and took out a map layout of Ponyville, looking for any possible highschool the purple mare could attend. "Let's see...not many options." she said aloud. Celestia leaned over and brightened as she caught sight of Cheerilee's recently opened Highschool.

"This one wouldn't be a bad choice," she pointed with her golden shoe. "Cheerilee retired from working with foals, but she still teaches teenagers like Twilight. I trust her enough with my faithful student, and so far atleast, I've heard nothing but good things about her building."

"But Sister! it's not a magical school, Cheerilee is an earth pony she won't be able to give Twilight the proper education she needs."

Celestia looked away. "Maybe so. But as Twilight said, she has every book and scroll in the world to learn from that." turning back toward Twilight and Cadance, she retrieved the crumpled map from Luna and showed it to both of them. "This is Cheerilee's schoolhouse in Ponyville. It's got exceptional reviews and it's brand new."

Twilight's purple eyes sparkled immediately. "This-This is perfect! yes, I want to go to this one!" Celestia smiled and snapped the paper shut. "Very well then, I'll sign you up to it. No doubt you'll be let in with your excellent report cards. Luna, hand me a quill, I will send a letter to Cheerilee regarding Twilight entering her program."

Cadance gave Twilight an encouraging hug, but a flash of doubt crossed her mind. "Hey, Twilight? I know that your not exactly a filly anymore, but I'm still protective of you. If anything, and I mean ANYTHING bad happens that makes you feel uncomfortable you can always come to me. Haha, I still remember what my early school years were like."

Twilight smiled at her long-time friend and caretaker. "Don't worry Cadance, I got this. I know Cheerilee, she's a great teacher. You know if anything silly happened I would run straight to you first, I promise."

hurrying off back to her house and saying her goodbyes to Cadance, Twilight rushed inside of her home and started to pack her saddle bags full of stuff she would need to go. The train ride to Ponyville would be a long one, so she had to make sure all of her school supplies were intact and ready for the big day. She felt fluttery all over, excited to finally be in a place she felt safe in.

"I just hope they don't find out i'm Celestia's student," Twilight said to herself as she forcefully stuffed a couple of books into her bags. "If they do, i'll never hear the end of it." she knew she would have to try and keep it a secret as best she could. The last thing she wanted was to become popular. she just wanted to gain a few friends and finish her semester!

Jotting down a few notes in her mind on what to and what to NOT do on her first day of school, she finally reached the train station. As she got onto the train, she sat down and stared out of the window. "It can't be as bad as canterlot's magical school, right?"
