May 1, 3975 BBB (Before the Battle of the Bell)
Today was a special day, because today was the festival of Bealtaine. A celebration of the earth and everything that grows. However, today is special for another reason. Today is the day of the first wedding of the village (besides my own).
The very same deer and cow who came to me to confess their love 10 years ago, named Daisy and Redwood, had proposed to each other 10 days ago, and had asked me to help with their wedding. It was an honor to help them organize everything.
Now, everything was ready. The worlds first inter species marriage was about to take place.
“Are you ready Redwood?”
“Yes, I’ve never been more ready for anything.”
Redwood was currently on the alter, waiting for Daisy to come down the aisle. The tension in the air was very noticeable. Everyone was waiting. Finally, after a few minutes, Daisy started walking down the aisle, wearing a dress so beautiful, her parents in the audience started crying.
Once she made it up to the alter, standing right across from Redwood, I started the ceremony.
“Welcome all, we are all gathered here to day to beer witness to the union of Redwood and Daisy. These two have chosen to commit to themselves, to help each other in the hard times they will endure, and to be with each other for those happy moments yet to come.”
“Do you, Redwood, vow to always take care of your wife, to promise to be true to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. To will love and honor her all the days of her life?”
“I do.”
“And do you, Daisy, vow to always take care of your husband, to promise to be true to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. To will love and honor him all the days of his life?”
“I do.”
“Then with the power vested in me, the rings please.”
I then ushered forward Maple, holding a small pillow holding the rings. They then proceeded to place the rings on each other.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride.”
Then, they kissed, sealing their union and making history at the same time.
“I am so proud of you two.”
“Really?”, said Daisy.
“Yes, not only are you the first to be married in the village, besides me, you are also the first inter species couple. You are living proof that differences don’t mean anything when it comes to true love.”
Today was certainly special alright, I wonder what other amazing things will happen in the village as time goes on.
