What Happened to Flash Sentry?

by FandomSam

Ultra Rise!

At the local gym, Flash Sentry is busy practicing some techniques on a dummy. He was so into it that he didn’t notice anyone was behind him until a hand was placed on his shoulder. Without thinking, the boy spins around to throw a punch. Only, he soon found himself lying on the floor.

“Wha…” he starts questioning before the face of a familiar red and yellow haired girl comes into his vision. “Sunset?”

“You must have been really into it,” Sunset tells him. The yellow teen is wearing shorts, a sports top, sneakers, and has a gym bag slung over her shoulders. “I called you three times and you never answered,” she assists her fellow guitarist up.

“What are you doing here?” the blue-haired boy asks once he’s back on his feet.

“Same as you I suppose,” the girl shrugs. “Was that judo I saw? And taekwondo?”

“Yeah, and some karate,” Flash confirms. “I had no idea you know martial arts.”

“It was a recent development,” the former Equestrian reaches for the geode she has hanging on her bag. “My powers are very useful, but they’re not really made for combat. Started teaching myself just in case I actually need to fight.”

“Your self-taught? Me too!”

“Yeah, but I’d say I have more success than you,” she gives him a smug grin.

“Come on, I’m not that bad.”

“Really? Cause your footing needs work and I didn’t see much balance going on.”

“Hey! I’ll have you know that I’ve been able to hold my own in a fight. And, and the size of these guys are unbelievable.”

“Prove it.” Sunset starts walking over to the ring.

Flash smirks as he follows her into the ring.

As soon as the Trainer who offered to ref signaled the start of the fight, the Flash lands on his back with an “Oof!”

And again, “Oof!”

He eventually lost track. “Oof!” he starts rubbing his head. “Okay, okay. I get what you mean.” He gets up.

“You just need a little practice and I’ll gladly train you,” Sunset boasts while helping him up for the umpteenth time.

“I could use all the help I can get,” he sighs as he goes over to where he left his bag.

Sunset raises a brow. “You plan on getting into a lot of fights.”

“I don’t think I have a choice,” Flash unzips the back to take something out, but quickly pockets it. “I’ve kinda been going through some things.”

The girl was about to ask when an alert went off on her phone. She takes the device out. “Seems like that giant made another appearance.”

Flash’s eyes widen at that. “Uh, really?”

“Yeah! Some hikers caught sight of him this morning. Look,” she shows him her phone and a video plays of a gold and silver giant with blue accents on its head, chest, arms, and legs. Right in the center of its chest is a white glowing gem. The Giant is seemingly sparing with nothing until he trips. Sunset lets out a chuckle. “This guy has the same problem as you.”

Sweat drips down from the boy’s forehead. “You don’t say,” he laughs awkwardly.

“Now,” the girl puts her phone away. “What were you saying before.”

“Sunset,” Flash fiddles with something in his pocket. “I’m the…”

Whatever the guitarist was about to say got cut off by the building shaking.

“What… was that?” the former Unicorn asks as she and everyone leaves the building and is sees. “Is that a dinosaur?”

There is indeed a massive dinosaur rampaging through the city.

People started running away from the destruction. Sunset takes her phone back out, planning on calling her fellow Rainbooms. “I’ll need to call the girls. Flash you should…” when she turns, the girl finds that her boyfriend is not running away but towards the dinosaur.

Sunset goes after him. “Flash!”

The call of her voice stops the boy, and he turns to her. “You better get out of here sunset,” he takes a strange wand-like device out of his pocket. “Rise!” he shouts while twisting the top before lifting it into the air and flipping a switch. “Ultraman Flash!” Flash is then engulfed in a bright light.

Once the light died, Sunset looks up to find the giant standing over her. “Flash!?”

The giant turns to her and nods. He then faces the dinosaur and immediately charges towards it.

Sunset decides to take this chance to find safety. The yellow teen eventually finds herself on the roof of a building with several other people that is a good enough distance away from the fight but still able to see the spectacle before them.

Ultraman man throws a glowing punch into the Dinosaur’s abdomen before delivering a shining kick at its head. But the Dinosaur easily dodges that, causing the giant to lose his balance and fall.

Sunset bangs her fists on the ledge of the building. “Stop making that mistake!” she watches as the Giant manages to grab the Dinosaur as it had charged at him. The white gem then starts blinking red.

The girl then eyes the police officer next to her with a megaphone. She snatches the megaphone and uses it. “Hey!” she shouts. “Plant your feet and use its weight against it!”

Ultraman briefly turns to the direction of the voice just as the officer retrieves his megaphone.

The Giant does as he was told and lifts the Dinosaur over his head and tosses it a good distance away.

Just as the Dinosaur gets back up, the Giant crosses his arms and a powerful beam is fired out of them and once it hits the monster, it bursts into an explosion.

The people on the rooftop start cheering as they watch as the Giant raises its hands in the air and flies off.

.oOo.

“Ow!” Flash lets out as he was flicked in the air. He turns to find a glaring Sunset. “What was that for?”

The yellow girl glances around to make sure that the school hallway is empty. “For not telling me that you’re a hundred-foot superhero.”

“And how do you think that would go?”

Sunset deadpans. “Says the giant to the unicorn.”

Flash opens his mouth to say something, only to close it while thinking. “Fair enough,” he shrugs before walking down the hall with Sunset following.

“I have band practice with the girls after school. So, we’ll have to meet up after that.”

The boy turns to her. “Meet up for what?”

“Training,” she answers. “You’ll need a lot of it if you’re going to continue fighting giant monsters,” the girl walks a head before facing him. “Hey! If you can pin me, then maybe we can go out tomorrow for pizza.”

Flash smiles at the retreating girl. Now with a specific goal in mind.
