Rails of a Mimic Epilogue

"You're absolutely sure about this?"

"There's no question about it you're majesty. Many witnesses have confirmed this."

The owner of the railroad was in the throne room explaining the strange occurrences. Ever since the changelings left, there have been rumors going around about a mysterious anomaly being seen more around train stations at night, only for it to leave when a pony gets close. Some speculated it was one of Chrysalis’s pets while many others suggested it was the reason the changelings left.

“Very well until further notice have your staff keep an eye out for it. I want to know more about this and determine if it’s a threat or not.”

“Of course your majesty.”

As soon as the owner left a scroll appeared in front of Celestia. She immediately Opened it and began to read.

Dear Princess Celestia,

This week has been a struggle for me. My therapist said I should try talking more to you to slowly feel better. Don’t worry I don’t hold anything against you. Me and my friends are slowly working through our problems. Don’t get me wrong it still hurts but it won’t be forever.
However my brother will be an even harder challenge to get over. Heck I nearly blasted him when I saw him in the library. It was thanks to Cadence that I didn’t hurt him. Cadence says the wedding won’t be the same without me and she’s willing to wait until things are better between us. I don’t know whether she’s doing this because she wants me to be happy at the wedding or if she’s punishing Shining. I got to go now. Rarity invited me to a spa day. I hope for once you can write more to me.

-your faithful Student Twilight Sparkle

Celestia smiled as she took out a scroll, quill, and ink. “Dear Twilight Sparkle…”

Queen Chrysalis sat on her throne with bandages on her body. It almost made her look like a mummy. She looked out to see the few changelings flying around. Her population has severely dwindled after the failed invasion. While there were many that were dead, many more have went rogue to have a better life without her rule. The only bright side to this was that there was plenty more love and food to share with her hive. She sighed as the whole ordeal felt like a humiliation.

At that moment a drone flew in carrying a scroll. "Your majesty we have a letter from your former commanding officer."

"Pharynx? Never thought I hear from him again." She opened and looked through it.

To my Queen

I regret leaving you but at the same time I cant leave my brother and his little friend to fend for themselves. We actually have been doing very well for our selves. We made friends a partnership with the pony known as Cadenza. She has offered us sanctuary and is more than willing to offer a diplomatic pardon along with negotiations that can benefit for all of us.

Thorax is begging you to consider this option. As much as he didn't like what we done he still sees you as our queen. Hope you can consider this and come back with peaceful intention. And don't worry about that train monster no one has seen it since we left.

-Pharynx

Chrysalis had read over it a few times and pondered. She looked outside to the ground and saw the few remaining subjects who looked like they were suffering. She began writing something down and handed to the drone who came in. "Disguise yourself as a guard and take this to the Princess. I can't handle this suffering. Even if we had enough for the year it won't last."

Somewhere in Manehattan some police ponies were questioning station staff about some bank robbers who came through. "Sorry officer but no train has left within the past hour according to our schedule."

"Alright keep yourself available let us know if you see any of these suspects." Said the police mare as she placed wanted posters in the station and left.

The station master looked out towards the train yard and noticed something odd. "That's strange, I don’t remember that shed door being opened and i thought there were two passenger cars in the yard."

Meanwhile down the line a large bag of bits was thrown out of a train while the screams of the robbers were heard. As the train left Manehatten, a hooded figure watched as a portal opened.

"Love may triumph in most conflicts but karma can overcome evil." He said as he walked through.
