As Rainbow Dash brought Zack to the finish line, my heart raced with concern. I hurriedly made my way to his side, calling out his name in a voice filled with fear and worry. "Zack, are you okay?" I pleaded, hoping for any sign of responsiveness. But to my dismay, his eyes slowly closed. As Zack's eyes closed, a surge of emotions overwhelmed me, and tears streamed down my cheeks.
I pulled Zack into a hug as I began to cry, Rainbow dash walked up to me “I didn’t think something like this would happen” she said with sadness in her voice “I only wanted to have a race but I didn’t expect this to happen”. “We need to get Zack to a hospital right now”. I said with strictness in my voice. Twilight then got the nurses out on the track. As they took Zack to the nearby hospital.
I stayed close by him as we made our way to the hospital. After we got to the hospital, we went into the waiting room and waited. “This is all my fault if I didn’t race him this wouldn’t have happened”. Rainbow said. “It’s not your fault”. Twilight said. “Zack lost his focus and he and he hit a tree and that led to Zack getting knocked out. No pony could have seen this coming”, “I just feel so bad about it all” Rainbow Dash said in a quiet voice. I was watching this all go down as I thought about Zack and if he was going to be ok. I was worrying about him more than I ever have before.
After what seemed like hours, a doctor came into the room. I quickly turned to the doctor. “Is he alright”? I asked. “Well, Zack physically is perfectly fine but we ran some tests on him and based on what we found his brain is in such distress, but we can’t be sure as of now”. The doctor said, “Can I see him?” I asked. “Of course right this way”. The doctor said as he led the three of us down the hallway and into Zack’s room.
As soon as I saw him lying there unconscious, I rushed over to him and hugged him like I haven't seen him for years. At this point, I could feel a few tears drip down my face as my eyes started to water a bit. I could see Twilight and Rainbow Dash looking at each other with a considered look. “I’ll leave you here for now”. The doctor said as he left the room
. Twilight and Rainbow Dash didn’t say a word as they sat down while I stayed with Zack, A few hours had passed and I was still with Zack. Rainbow Dash was the first one to speak. “So are we just gonna sit here and be quiet or what?” Rainbow Dash said. “Well I’m staying with Zack for as long as he’s unconscious,” I said with tears streaming down my cheek “Ok because I have to leave pretty soon.
The Wonderbolts won’t like it if I miss practice. A few minutes later Rainbow Dash said her goodbyes and she left the room. I stood there as I asked Twilight. “Hey Aunt Twilight, Is there anything you could do to help with Zack”? I asked. “Sadly no there is nothing I can’t do not after his powers have sufficed”. Twilight said. “But there has to be”. I said as I started to cry and held Zack’s hoof. “There has to be '' Twilight let out a sigh “There isn’t he is a red moon changeling and when they are unconscious they can’t be affected by anything that is related to magic”. Twilight said. “Please Zack, just wake up”.
I saw that Zack wasn’t moving an inch as I continued to cry. Twilight was watching this unfold as she looked down at the floor, sighing quietly. Just then, Some nurses came into the room. “I am sorry if I am interrupting but we need to do some muscle therapy on Zack”. Said the nurse Red Heart. “I’m going to get some food”. Twilight said, “Do you want anything Flurry”? “I think I’m good,” I said as I sat down. The nurses then started the muscle therapy on Zack for a while as I sat there. I was still thinking about Zack so much that I didn't realise that the nurses had left the room. A little while later Twilight walked back into the room, holding a few bags.
“I figured you would want a hayburger anyway,” Twilight said. “Thank’s Twilight”. I said even though I was too sad to think about eating right now. A few more hours had passed and the sun was long gone as the night came in. Me and Twilight were still there, Zack was the same as before. “Flurry”. Twilight said. “I do have to get going now. Are you gonna come as well? “No”. I said as I looked at Zack. “I want to stay with Zack until he wakes up. I’m guessing that already Twilight knew that she wasn’t gonna be able to change my mind so she left me with Zack. It didn’t matter. I wanted to be with Zack and I want to stay by his side for as long as it takes because I know that he would do the same if roles were switched. I’m guessing that I fell asleep at some point because when I looked out the window, I could see the sun rising up.
I looked at Zack who was still unconscious, I looked behind me and grabbed the hayburger that was still in the paper bag that Twilight left. My stomach then started to rumble a bit. I haven’t eaten anything since yesterday morning and I was starving so I picked up the hayburger and started to eat. Even though I was starving, I still couldn't stop thinking about Zack.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door as Twilight walked in.” Twilight”. I said but I didn’t acknowledge my mother. I was still upset with her and didn’t want to talk to her just yet. “Flurry we need to leave right now”. My mother said in a strict voice. “No, I can't”. I said in protest. “Zack need’s me. I need him”. “Flurry we need to let the doctors help Zack now”. Twilight said in a calm voice, “Flurry we are going back with me now head back home”. Mom said as she tried to pull me out of the room.
“I’m not leaving this building until Zack is feeling better”! I shouted at my mother in protest. I’m guessing that Mom knew that no matter what she did, I was staying at the hospital. “It doesn't matter if he is feeling better or not, we're leaving”. Mom said using her magic to try and pull me out “But he needs me. I need him”! I shouted in protest. Then I noticed that Zack was starting to shake a bit. Just then, a few doctors walked past the room and noticed Zack. “code blue”. One of the doctors said as they started to perform something on Zack.
Mom still tried to use her magic and pull me out of the room. “How many times do I have to say it Mother, I'm not leaving Zack”. I said. Mom looked furious but defeated at the same time. “Fine, but the second he is feeling better, we are leaving, '' Mom said with a stubborn look. The doctors continued to do whatever they were doing to Zack as the three of us watched from behind. Every second, I couldn't stop thinking about Zack. Finally after what felt like forever one of the doctors came out of the room “How is he ok” I said with worry in my voice “I can say for sure that Zack will make a full recovery”.
The doctor said with a smile. Without thinking, I rushed to Zack’s room and sat next to him. Twilight and Mom followed soon after, Mom looking more than pleased to get it over with. I heard Zack’s hoof and I could see his eyelids start to move a little bit. “Zack”. I said. “Come on Zack wake up”. After a little while, Zack’s eyes did start to open as he woke up. “Zack”. I said holding his hoof.
“Y. . . yeah” A wide smile appeared on my face as I started to kiss him. I could then see Zack start to blush a little as he smiled. “Where did that come from”. Zack said with a smile on his face. “I was just so worried about you that I let it all out”. I said. “I mean I didn’t say I didn’t enjoy it”. Zack said as we both hugged each as he gave me a kiss on my cheek. Meanwhile, I could see my mom watching this with an annoyed look on her face as she tapped her hoof on the floor. “We need to head home now, Flurry”.
I immodestly looked down as I began to walk out of the room. Zack appeared right in front of me, I looked behind me to see that he wasn’t in the bed, “how did you do that” I said looking at him surprised “You tell me first where are you going” Zack said in a calm voice” pushed Zack out of the way “come on Flurry were leaving now” she a said with an aggressive tone as she began to force me out of the room.
Zack split us both up as he said “ok Cadence I understand that you don’t like me, but don’t take it out on your daughter” Mom looked at Zack surprised at what he just said “Well you heard what Flurry said thanks for visiting, bye” mom said. Zack turned around and looked at me and asked “Do you want to go with her?” I shook my head, and Zack turned back to my mom and said “Well you heard her, thanks for visiting” As he said that I saw his wing pulse glowing red. “We should be on our way now,” Zack said. I then saw Zack’s horn begin to glow as he used his horn and teleported us outside. “What was that”? I said in shock as Zack teleported us to a bridge overlooking a creek.
“I . . . I don’t know. I guess I have more power than I realised” Zack said, “I couldn't teleport” I replied “That would have been convenient before” Zack said as we overlooked the creek. We looked at the water flowing under the bridge for a little while before I spoke. “Let’s just hope my mother doesn't come after you,” I said in a laughing tone. “Trust me I know what will happen if she catches us,” Zack said, “If she didn’t hate me before then she definitely hates me now”. Zack said jokingly trying to lighten the mood “She always hated changelings ever since Chrysalis attacked her wedding”.
“But we weren’t even born then so why would she forbid us to see each other”? Zack said “I don’t know, it’s just not fair”. I looked at Zack with a mugged smile, “I just want you to know that no matter what my mother says, we will still be in each other’s lives” I said as we leaned in and gave him a small kiss, I don’t know how or why but this time it felt special this time, Well more special this time then before. I knew that even if my mom went to drastic measures, I would find a way to be with Zack and I knew he would find a way to be with me. Neither of us even looked at the time to see that it was getting dark outside.
Just then, we heard a few sets of hoofprints as Cadence and Twilight found us on the bridge. “There you two are” Cadence said “It’s about time”, “I think it’s time for me to take my leave” Zack said as he started to walk away, “Where do you think you're going”? Cadence said, “I’m leaving”? I said in a confused voice, “While you two were away, me and Twilight talked it over and I have a few words that I should have said a long time ago”, Cadence said, taking a breath before she continued “What are those words”? I said, wondering what she wanted to say.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry for arresting Zack, banshing him from the empire and being a jerk to both of you, I was too blind by my past to realise that Zack makes you happy and I should have seen that and have been ok with it, So I’m sorry” I said nothing as I walked up to my mom to giving a hug “I forgive you mom” I said as I pulled away from the hug. “If it’s ok with the both of you, Zack can stay in the empire, “I like the sound of that” Zack said with a warm smile, “We get to stay together” I said as Zack and I hugged each other, Cadence and Twilight were watching this with a smile on their face “Told you that it was the right choice”.
Twilight said with a smile on her face “I suppose you were right but I can just sense something” Cadence said with a little bit of worry on her face.
“What” Twilight asked “Oh nothing” Cadence replied trying to change the subject. It felt like forever since the sun had set as the four of us took the train back to the empire.
Once we got back to the crystal empire, Cadence showed Zack his own room. “I figured you two would want to sleep in the same room so I took the liberty of making a room for you two” Cadence said with a smile. “Thank you mom”. I said pulling mom into a hug “I have to say that I like this new you”. Zack said. “I shouldn’t have acted the way I did, especially to you Flurry, so I am going to try and make it up for you too,” Cadence said, giving Zack a warm smile. “I do have to hit the hay now”.she said good night to both of us before she left. After she left to her corridor’s, we walked into the room my mom made before going to sleep
Meanwhile . . .
I continued to lay on the cold grow cage limiting my movement “let me out” I shouted getting no response as usual. This place has been nothing but torture. Suddenly Ark appeared right in front of me. “What do you want” I said in a hostel and tired tone “haven’t you tortured me enough” Ark smirk “I am not here for that” Ark said looking at me “I just came here to say that there has been a change of plans, I was going to destroy your life but now I think it would be better to take it”.
“What do you mean” I said not fully listening "I am going to live your life starting with your dear Flurry" Ark said as the room started to fill with dark laughter I stood up and shouted at Ark “don’t you dare lay a hoof on her or I’ll'' Ark interrupted me saying “you’ll what you lost you can’t do anything other than watch” I was about to shout at Ark but disappeared as quickly as he appeared. I let out a sigh as I hit my head on the cage. Suddenly the cage fell apart, I stood in shock as the cage fell apart around me but I knew it didn’t matter
