"Alright my little ponies I have a very special important announcement to tell you all" Miss Cheerilee said as everypony started to talk and whisper on what the important surprise would be.
Apple Bloom noticed everypony else talking so she turned to her right and started to talk to her two best friends, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo
"What do you girls think the announcement is gonna be about?" Apple Bloom asked
"I don't know but I hope it's something awesome like going on a field trip!" Scootaloo replied excitedly
"I hope so I really need a break from school" Sweetie Belle said
"Ah know right! Oh also did ya'll hear about what happened to-"
All eyes laid on Apple Bloom. Miss Cheerilee looking straight at her
"Is there something you would like to share with the class, Apple Bloom?" Miss Cheerilee asked in a stern voice
Turns out Miss Cheerilee was waiting for everypony to be silent and she was the only pony who didn't stop.
"N-no Miss ah'm good!" Apple Bloom stuttered, laughing nervously
"As I was saying before I got rudely interrupted, today you will be....TAKING CARE OF EGGS!" Miss Cheerilee screamed in joy
There was a dead silence in the room, no-pony daring to break it. There was a mix of confusion and concern for their teacher and due to the face they the expressions on their face that was clearly signalling their obvious confusion.
"Uhm what-?" A classmate of theirs named Snips called out.
"You need to find yourself a pair because as a social group project today you ponies will have the experience of taking care of little egg as your own! The goal is to see if you can keeo your egg without breaking it. This will boost your grades may I add" Miss Cheerilee explained
"OHHHHHHHH" The Class replied in unision while Miss Cheerilee laughed
"Do we HAVE to do this Miss Cheerilee?" Diamond Tiara asked
The whole classed groaned in annoyance, Diamond Tiara was a entitled, spoiled and rich earth pony who bullied everypony and anypony (with her best friend Silver Spoon of course) their main targets were Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo since they didn't have their cutie marks yet.
"What?! I was just asking! You annoying ungrateful ponies I'm doing you a favor thank you very much!" Diamond Tiara shouted confused yet mostly annoyed
"Yes you do and that goes for everypony if you don't then you fail unless there is a reasonable explanation to why you didn't take part in it!" She reminded
"How are you gonna know if we did or not?" Silver Spoon asked
"Yeah! Silvie's right and what if I get my daddy to pay-"
"Nope! I already talked with Mr.Rich beforehand and he said it was a lovely idea!" Miss Cheerilee replied
Diamond Tiara slumped into her seat and rolled her eyes, she didn't have time to participate in a stupid egg competition. There wasn't even a prize! Though, she could just bully the blank flanks for it later then get Silver Spoon to do all the work once she left this hellhole and Miss Cheerilee was out of the way so it was kinda good.
**Once the bell rings**
"Alright filles come up to the desk with your pair and pick an egg of your liking! Remember have an excellent day!!" Miss Cheerilee said excitedly and proud of the joke she just made.
"Hey girls?" Sweetie Belle said
The two turned around to face their best friend "Yeah?" Apple Bloom and Scootaloo said together
"Normally I would want to help you convince Miss Cheerilee to let us be in a trio but the new student Dinky is alone and has nopiny to be her partner so i was wondering if I could be with her instead" Sweetie Belle asked
"Course ya can Sweetie besides ah'm sure Dinky would love it!" Apple Bloom answered with a grin
"Yeah what Apple Bloom said! We'll be fine!" Scootaloo laughed
"Awh you two are the best!" Sweetie Belle responded smiling as she waved goodbye and went over to Dinky.
Dinky is a new unicorn who recently joined not much is known about her other than she is related to Derpy, are they siblings or mother and daughter? Nopony reallys knows due to Derpys loveable nature of forgetting things.
"Hey your Ditzy right?" Sweetie Belle asked
"AHH" She screamed
"Oh hi... uhm M-my names Dinky not ditzy.." The shy unicorn replied
"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to scare you!" Sweetie Belle apologised
"Its okay!" Dinky said smiling
"Thanks! My names Sweetie Belle I saw you with nopony as your partner... So i wanted to know if you wanna be with my pair?" Sweetie Belle asked
"R-really? You want to be with somepony like me..." Dinky questioned confused and shocked
"Yeah you seem like a nice unicorn!" Sweetie smiled lending her hoof out to her newest friend
Dinky looked up and smiled, hugging her new and first ever friend
"So what are we gonna name it?" Apple Bloom asked examining the egg closely
The whole reason they picked this egg was because Scootaloo thought it looked "cool" and since it was different then the others. It was a chicken egg so the two assumed they got from Fluttershy's cottage although, it was more of a darker brown-ish colour then the rest, sure there was others that looked kinda similar but there was something about this egg that just felt special.
"I don't know uhhh Scoots Jr?" Scootaloo suggested
"Hay no! Ah wanna be apart of it too!" Apple Bloom complained
"What about uh Scoots apple Jr?" She said
"No that doesn't sound right" Scootaloo replied
"Ah dunno!" Apple Bloom shouted
"Uh Dash! Like Rainbow Dash" Scootaloo said
"What about Appledash?" Apple Bloom asked
"Awesome name but nah it sounds like a mix of Applejack and Rainbow Dash" Scootaloo laughed
"Yeah ah guess uhhh how 'bout Scootabloom Jr?" Apple Bloom said
"Ehhh awesome but not awesome enough it needs to have a unique name" Scootaloo responded
"Ugh fine ah'll keep thinkin" Apple Bloom rolled her eyes
The duo started to think real hard about what to name their egg, looking around to find anything that would give them inspiration.
"What about er danger!" Scootaloo shouted
"Oh oh oh ah got an amazing idea, what about Danger Dash!" Apple Bloom shouted back
"Yeah!" Scootaloo shouted happily
"Imagine if we get our cutie marks?" Apple Bloom laughed
"That would be awesome!" Scootaloo replied flapping her wings in excitement
"Yeah we could be the cutie mark egg-sitters!!" Apple Bloom said
"Yesss and we can get Sweetie Belle to let Rarity make us mini cmc capes I'm not into fashion or anything but It'll make our egg totally special and awesome!" Scootaloo exclaimed
"And a official cmc!" Apple Bloom added
"Yeah! Lets go find Sweetie and uh no offense but what was that unicorns name Sweetie Belle was with again-?" Scootaloo asked
"Her name's Dinky" Apple Bloom answered
"Right, now lets go find Sweetie Belle and Dinky!" Scootaloo shouted, putting her hoof in the air
"Yeah!" Apple Bloom shouted as she hoof bumped Scootaloo and laughed
The two searched around looking for their other best friend until they finally found the two sitting on the seesaw.
Sweetie Belle smiled happily as she went up to them as Dinky followed behind shyly holding the egg in her mouth.
"Hey girls! Dinky meet Apple Bloom and Scootaloo, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo meet Dinky! They're my two amazing friends I told you about" Sweetie Belle explained
"H-hi..." The blonde unicorn said shyly as she placed the egg down
"Howdy its nice ta meet ya!" Apple Bloom said shaking her hand
"Yeah!" Scootaloo agreed
"So Belle what's the name of your egg?" Scootaloo asked
"Oh our one is named Izzy Belle!" Sweetie Belle cheered
"What's your ones name?"
"Our one is called.....DANGER DASH! It was basically my idea so thank me" Apple Bloom responded and laughed
"YEAH HES GONNA BE THE MOST DARING AWESOME-IST MOST AMAZING EGG EVER!" Scootaloo shouted happily
"Ooo thats such a lovely name! But please don't do anything too stupid though Miss Cheerilee said we have to make sure the egg DOESN'T break! And it boosts our grades!!" Sweetie Belle reminded
"Yeah we know we know... oh also before ah forget! Sweetie Belle could ya get Rarity ta make one of those mini crusader caps?" Apple Bloom asked
"Sure!...but why?" Sweetie Belle asked confused
"For our egg of course! Its gonna become an official crusader" Scootaloo replied as Apple Bloom nodded in agreement
"Darn right it is!"
"Sure I'll see what I can do that is if Rarity isnt too busy!" Sweetie Belle responded
"Anyway we're gonna get going to the clubhouse to find some ideas for our egg to do, you coming?" Scootaloo asked
"No thanks I'm good" Sweetie Belle smiled before she looked at Dinky and said
"I wanna get to know Dinky more so I'll join you all later!"
"Alright cya Sweetie Belle!" Apple Bloom said waving goodbye
"Byee!"
Apple Bloom and Scootaloo left Sweetie Belle and her new friend as they headed towards the treehouse....
