After two days of walking Turquoise and Fluttershy arrived in Olivine City where Fluttershy was shopping for supplies on her own, as for Turquoise she and Sprigatito were on the beach looking at the sea. Sprigatito looked memorized by the sparkling of the ocean.
“That is called the ocean,” Turquoise said to Sprigatito who was happy. Suddenly another familiar face approached them. That face was Jasmine.
“Hey, Turquoise long time no see,” Jasmine said.
“Good to see you again Jasmine,” Turquoise said.
“What brings you back to Olivine City and where is Fluttershy?” Jasmine asked.
“Fluttershy is currently stocking up on supplies for our voyage and as for why we are here we are catching the next boat to Candina Island for the Grand Festival,” Turquoise said.
“You made it? Congratulations,” Jasmine said before noticing Sprigatito. “Aw, what a cute Pokemon.
“Thanks, this is Sprigatito, a Pokemon from Paldea,” Turquoise said.
“I heard of Paldea, I hear it's quite the vacation spot,” Jasmine said. The two kept chatting until Fluttershy arrived.
“I see Jasmine is here as well,” Fluttershy said.
“I came to enjoy some R&R on the beach since I haven't had many challengers in the past couple of weeks,” Jasmine said.
“Same with us since the grand festival is not for a few weeks,” Turquoise said. The first thing the girls did was change into their swimsuits since the weather was perfect for a beach day. Turquoise came out wearing a purple halter top style bikini while Fluttershy came out wearing a simple green and yellow striped bikini. Jasmine already had hers on so she was good to go. Fluttershy began setting up a table with all of her cooking stuff after calling out her Cinderace and Ursaring.
“How long are you two staying in Olivine City for?” Jasmine asked.
“Just until the ferry for Candina Island arrives,” Turquoise said.
“The next one arrives tomorrow so you won’t have to wait long,” Jasmine said.
“That’s good and now come on out everyone,” Turquoise said before calling out her other Pokemon who all looked excited. Meganium and Sprigatito decided to do some sunbathing which filled the air with a pleasant aroma. The day went by and soon the sun was setting.
“Best beach day ever,” Turquoise said.
“You said it,” Jasmine said.
“I wonder if Candina Island will have nice beaches too,” Fluttershy said.
“We will see when we get there,” Turquoise said. The girls decided to call it a night since they had to get up early to catch the ferry to their next destination.
The next morning the girls were heading towards the port and luckily for them, the ferry to Candina Island was boarding. They got in line and after flashing their boarding passes Turquoise and Fluttershy took a seat while they waited for the ferry to move. As soon as everyone boarded and the gangplank was pulled in an announcement played over the intercom.
“Attention passengers, we are about to set sail for Candida Island so we recommend everyone remained seated until we reach calm waters,” The captain said as the anchor was raised and the ship began to set off albeit a bit wobbly from the one-foot waves. As soon as the ferry reached calm waters the passengers were given the all-clear to move about the boat. Turquoise decided to head to the bow of the ship to look at the horizon with Espeon by her side.
“Well Espeon, we may have had a slightly harder time getting this far but we made it,” Turquoise said with Espeon in agreement. “I wonder if Selena and Kyle made it.
Inside the resort area on Candina Island, Selena was relaxing since she had more than enough time before the grand festival.
“I hope Turquoise made it,” Selena said hoping to get that rematch she's been waiting so long for. Selena has been on Candina Island for a whole week now and she was already getting bored.
In Cienwood City, Emma was trying to find her own way to Candina Island since she has gotten quite lost after accidentally boarding the wrong ferry. Emma was looking quite nervous as she walked around. She decided to return to the port and see if someone could help her get to her destination.
“Um excuse me,” Emma asked a man who looked like the harbor master.
“How may I help you, lass?” the man asked.
“Is there a way to get to Candina Island from here?” Emma asked.
“Afraid not sorry, “The man said.
“Ok thanks anyway, “Emma said feeling slightly down until another man who looked like a fisherman came up to her.
“I can take you there,” The fisherman said.
“Oh it's ok I don’t want to be a bother, “Emma said.
“Nonsense I would be more than happy to since that is in the same direction I’m going,” The fisherman said.
“Thank you, sir,” Emma said happily.
“Before we set off may I ask why you want to get to Candina Island?” The fisherman asked.
“For the grand festival,” Emma said.
“Then we have plenty of time, that is if you don’t mind if we do some fishing along the way,” the fisherman said.
“As long as I make it on time sure, “Emma said. The fisherman and Emma were walking toward what looked like a small fishing boat that had the name Misty Vaporeon on it.
“She may not look like much but she sails like a dream,” The fisherman said before formally introducing himself. “The name is Finn by the way.
“I’m Emma,” Emma said.
“Well Emma, make yourself comfortable while I get this ship sailing, “Finn said before heading for the helm to raise the anchor and set sail. The boat was now moving and while it was not as fast as a ferry it was still good enough.
As for Kyle, he was now in the middle of the final battle in the very last contest before the grand festival. It was his Dusknoir against a girl with long black hair with a rose in it and tan skin wearing a red Flamenco dress and her Pokemon who looked like a green anthropomorphic cat with a pink flower around its neck, a green cape, and a black mask. There was only one minute and thirty seconds left on the clock and Kyle was down to just twenty perfect of his points while his opponent still had ninety percent left.
“Dusknoir use shadow ball. Dusknoir unleashed his shadow ball which did not faze his opponent or her Pokemon one bit.
“No style at all, Meowscarada dodge and finish this with Flower trick. The cat elegantly spun out of the way before snapping its claws which caused an unbloomed bouquet to appear and then explode when it made contact with Dusknoir which resulted in a double whammy caused by knockout and point total.
“And with that elegant display, the winner of the contest is Esmeralda,” Julian said. Kyle recalled his Dusknoir before exiting the stage.
“Oh well I tried, but this was as far as I was able to get,” Kyle said before heading to the Pokemon center.
Back with Turquoise and Fluttershy, the Ferry was getting close to what looked like an Island with what looked like a big building that looked like a giant flower in bloom with some smaller buildings beneath it.
“That must be Candina Island,” Turquoise said.
“Sure is and what your looking at right now is called the Bloom Arena,” A crewmember said.
“Is it popular?” Turquoise asked.
“Very popular, some of the greatest concerts and battles in all of Johto have been held there,” the Crewmember said. Turquoise was starting to get very excited after hearing that. Ten minutes later the ferry arrived at the port on Candina Island which meant it was now time to disembark.
“Please exit in an orderly fashion and welcome to Candina Island,” The captain said over the intercom as everyone got off the ferry. As soon as the girls got off they saw a lot of shops and restaurants along with other stuff.
“Consider my curiosity peaked,” Turquoise said.
“Woah not so fast Turquoise, aren't you forgetting something?” Fluttershy said.
“Oh right, the Pokemon Center first,” Turquoise said. The girls found the Pokemon center and as soon as they entered Nurse Joy was already expecting Turquoise.
“Is one of you Turquoise?” Nurse Joy asked.
“I am,” Turquoise said.
“You have a phone call,” Nurse Joy said before showing her and Fluttershy to the vidphone. As soon as Turquoise answered Kyle appeared on screen.
“Long time no see Turquoise,” Kyle said.
“Hi, Kyle I’m excited to face you in the grand festival,” Turquoise said.
“About that I’m afraid I have some bad news,” Kyle said before telling them which really shocked Turquoise.
“You did not make it?” Turquoise shouted in disbelief.
“Yeah I lost to some girl with a Pokemon I have never seen before in both appeals and battle,” Kyle said.
“Well you did your best and that's all that matters,” Fluttershy said.
“Anyway I called to wish Turquoise luck since she will definitely need it,” Kyle said before hanging up.
“Well looks like a new rival has entered the fray,” Turquoise said.
“What Pokemon do you think Kyle was talking about?” Fluttershy asked.
“We will just have to wait and see,” Turquoise said. As soon as they exited the Pokemon center Selena was waiting for them.
“Glad to see you made it Turquoise, “Selena said.
“Selena glad you made it too,” Turquoise said with joy.
“Been waiting for a week, what took you so long?” Selena asked.
“Had to get my Rising badge from Blackthorn City first and then we had to get from Cherrygrove City to Olivine City which thankfully took less long by air,” Turquoise said. “But anyway it looks like we may have a new rival entering the fray.
“How do you know?” Selena asked.
“I got off the phone with someone who told me about a girl with a Pokemon he never saw before beating him and claiming the final ribbon before the Grand Festival,” Turquoise said.
“The hype for this year’s grand festival is getting more exciting by the minute,” Selena said.
Back with Emma she and Finn were getting close to Candina Island.
“Candina Island dead ahead,” Finn said. The boat made its way towards the port and as soon as Finn weighed anchored Emma got off.
“Thank you for the ride Finn,” Emma said.
“You are quite welcome Emma and I hope you win the Grand Festival,” Finn said. Emma began walking through the streets and soon saw Turquoise and Selena. She then began running to them while shouting out to them.
“Turquoise, Selena, Fluttershy, So glad to see you again,” Emma said before stopping by them.
“Emma I’m glad you made it,” Selena said.
“Me too,” Turquoise said.
“I kind of got lost on the way here, Hope I'm not too late,” Emma said.
“On the contrary your early,” Turquoise said.
“We all are, The Grand festival is not for another few weeks,” Selena said.
“Glad to know we were not the only ones who overestimated how long it would take to get here,” Fluttershy said.
“Anyway, how have you been Turquoise?” Emma asked.
“Pretty good,” Turquoise said.
“Glad to hear it,” Emma said. The girls all decided to have dinner at one of the restaurants to celebrate their reunion and talk some more.
“So tell us about how you got here,” Selena asked Turquoise.
“Well after reaching Violet City we ran into Falkner the gym leader who not only offered us a ride to Wind Valley. I even entered the Sky Race with him and even though I lost it saved us a lot of time.
“That is quite the tale,” Selena said.
“As for me after weeks of walking I finally made it to Olivine City but ended up boarding the wrong ferry,” Emma said.
“Where did you end up?” Turquoise asked.
“Ceinwood City,” Emma said before continuing. “Luckily a very nice fisherman offered me a ride on his boat and brought me here,” Emma said. Soon their food arrived.
“Alright, ladies let's toast on giving it our all and having no hard feelings no matter who wins or loses,” Turquoise said before all three of them raised their glasses and clinked them.
“Agreed, all three of us worked very hard to get here,” Selena said.
“We sure did,” Emma said. The girls celebrated the night away getting excited for what was to come.
