Flurry Heart is in the castle’s front doorway with King Sombra.
Now, a lot of ponies would question this… .
Questions such as “why is he here? He should be dust by now!” Or, “why did the Royal Couple decide to have an infamous villain watch over their precious, innocent, and most importantly, impressionable child?!” Which basically brings us to this!
“So uh… . You feeling okay about this???” Sombra asked, looking at his responsibility for the night. Flurry Heart, coming out of shock, responded with a dejected “no… “ and then went back into the castle. Sombra follows close behind before shutting the doors to the front of the castle.
Sombra sighs while the both of them were approaching Flurry’s bedroom, and then starts to ramble on like this. “If it’s any consolation, your two aunts, Celestia and Luna, have tasked me with this because I’m in parole. What it is exactly, don’t ask please. I’ve been through worse trying to find out what it’s all about… . Not to mention I’ve been caught up with details and whatnot due to Luna being a chatterbox. Why did I say that? Again, don’t ask. It’s making me uncomfortable just thinking back on it already… .” Flurry just sighed before closing her bedroom door with a slam to it. Sombra opened it, and entered before doing the same because he’s really not in the mood for basically anything at this point… . Aside from avoiding going back to being dust of course.
Many hours went by and nothing interesting happened. The only “interesting” thing that happened was Flurry Heart throwing a temper tantrum because her blocks just wouldn’t stay upright, and kept falling. So because of that, she went ballistic, tossed her block tower against the wall, causing it to shatter, and then began screaming with rage until lying down on the ground, sobbing softly to herself.
And as for King Sombra, he was passed out throughout the whole thing on Flurry Heart’s bed because he was so exhausted trying to stay up so he could watch over his oppressor’s niece per the conditions of his parole. What it is exactly is unknown and unclear… . But hey, he saw a chance to not get caught, and went for it! Albeit much to the royal sister’s dismay.
Many more hours went by (since Sombra arrived very early in the morning when the story began), and this happened.
“So.. um… . Care to explain how that happened?” Sombra asked as he and Flurry Heart are looking up at two broken pieces of ceiling on top of them by the castle entrance hallway, by the front door.
To make this short, Flurry’s tantrum equals crack in the bedroom wall, which led to the front door hallway; breaking two big pieces of ceiling in half, and having it stay there in the ceiling due to stability, or something… . However what is also known is that one big crash or sound would have those two ceiling pieces fall on top of someone, or something if it or they enter the castle very noisily.
“Not exactly no… .” Was Flurry Heart’s response, before looking uncomfortable, and replying with a bounce; “but can we hurry this up? I’m starving… .” Sombra sighs, not liking how his responsibility is basically whining for food, and then replied with; “just quit your whining, and then I’ll get ya something to eat… . Got it?” Flurry nodded, and jumped up and down while having her hooves up in the air. Sombra just chuckles and leaves to the kitchen, with Flurry Heart following as she doesn’t wanna get left behind.
Once at the kitchen, Sombra goes to make Flurry Heart a simple cheese and lettuce sandwich (since obviously ponies never eat meat), and then squirts a bit of mayo into it before closing it and giving Flurry Heart her food, while he goes to make his own sandwich, this time with more complex ingredients.
Flurry just looked at it in disgust, and then started to take a bite out of it before her face scrunched up with disgust as she apparently doesn’t like mayo. But considering the fact her parents did this to her the first time they introduced mayo to her, she decided making a fuss regardless of whether it was her parents watching over her or not wasn’t worth it, and then began to continue eating the sandwich.
Soon or later, Sombra sat down and began eating his own sandwich, which consisted of hay, lettuce, onions, green bell peppers, and some mayo.
Flurry looked at his sandwich, scrunched her face again, and then looked to Sombra before asking; “why do you like mayo??? It’s disgusting.” Sombra chuckled to this, and replied; “It’s not disgusting, it’s delicious. Why? You don’t like mayo?” Flurry shook her head no and replied back; “I no like it… . Ever since mommy and daddy fed me some when I was little… .” Sombra chuckles a bit, then says; “eh… you’ll get used to it.” Before taking another bite out of his sandwich. Flurry Heart sighs, thinking that maybe he’s got a point, and then continues eating as well.
After that was done, both ponies placed their plates in the sink, and went back to the castle’s bedroom; as the royal couple told the both of them to never leave the castle as it would either cause a panic or a riot to see King Sombra again.
Few hours later…
“Wow am I glad that you had a can in there for in case… hehe… .” Sombra said jokingly, yet also sheepishly as he realized that what he did was wrong, and now he’s paying the price for it. What’d he do wrong? Here’s what happened… .
“I told you I hate mayo… “ Flurry said before her cheeks puffed up, and then she leaned into the trash can again before she started hurling again. Luckily it wasn’t shown that she was barfing from where Sombra was at. Bad news is… the trashcan had no trash bags (since obviously there were no such thing as one in the my little pony universe), and that’s gonna prove to be a big problem for Sombra since he’s gonna have to clean it all up.
Eventually Flurry Heart lied down on the floor so that way she’ll hopefully recover from her nausea. Hopefully… .
Sooner or later Sombra got up and began the process of sterilizing and cleaning up everything for in the case Flurry’s barf had something infectious inside it. Afterwards, Sombra got back into the bedroom, and picked up Flurry Heart for a bath.
Once Flurry was in the bath, Sombra washed his hooves (or shadow hands), and then went back to begin bathing Flurry Heart. However, before he could start, Flurry Heart looked up at him, and asked; “do you think that I’m a bad kid???” Sombra paused while getting out the bottle of bath soap, and then replied with; “uh… no… ? Heh.. why would you think that??? I don’t know much about you… . Aside from not liking mayo to the point where you’d barf.” Flurry Heart shivered to that reply, and said; “please… don’t mention that moment again… . I don’t wanna think about it anymore… . It’s making me feel uncomfortable.” Sombra nodded, said; “fair enough… “ and then squirts some bath soap onto his shadow hands before rubbing them together, and began the process of bathing Flurry Heart; albeit having her shiver again because she was feeling uncomfortable. Not just cuz Sombra is bathing her. But also the fact that he mentioned the moment when Flurry Heart got sick in the trashcan in her room because she hated mayo.
“So uh… you tired yet???” Sombra was asking that because both of them are currently lying on Flurry’s bed, just staring up at the ceiling. Flurry Heart responded with a “no… “ and then whined a bit before climbing on top of King Sombra’s chest. Normally, she would never do this… . But considering the fact that she knew that if she’s not asleep by the time her mom and dad get home… she’ll be in trouble for not being asleep. So because of that, she’s feeling cranky, and is trying to do whatever she knows how in order to calm herself down… and such.
After a few more minutes passed, Sombra said; “I give up… “ and stands back up from the bed. “Let’s just try something that’ll help you sleep.” Sombra blushed to this, and asked; “do you by any chance wanna do something a little childish before bed???” Confused, Flurry leaned up against her bed frame to look at him, and asked; “what do you mean???” Before starting to climb off her bed. Sombra cleared his throat before asking; “do you want some milk to drink or something???” Flurry Heart snickered a bit, then asked; “how’s that childish???” Sombra just rubbed the back of his before making a cradling motion with his hooves.
Now realizing what he meant, Flurry Heart giggled, then said; “I don’t have a baby bottle anymore… . I’m six!” Sombra then chuckled a bit, then held out his shadow hands as a gesture to say “my bad”, or something along those lines… . Flurry chuckled at that, but blushes, and then said; “however… . I wouldn’t mind a bedtime story… . I’m only a kid after all… . R-right???” Sombra chuckles, then says, “course. Cozy Glow wanted the same thing too you did when she’s with us! But… now that she’s a stone statue like the others… . Not anymore… .”
Flurry Heart sighs to this, starting to feel and now… . Suddenly she gets an idea, and asked; “well why don’t you tell me how you managed to care for her??? I’m kinda curious.” Sombra chuckles, then says; “you sure you wanna hear this story??? It’s pretty rough at first… .” Flurry chuckles, then says; “I can handle it… . I got hurt twice yesterday! Right before you got hewre… . So I can handle myself!” Sombra chuckles at that, then says; “fair enough… “ before parting beside him while he’s sitting on the bed. “Now cmon! It’s getting late.” And with that, the little princess flew to sit beside Sombra, and snuggled close to him while looking at him to tell the story. Sombra snickered, before clearing his throat to begin his story… .
The royal parents got back and have found the place to be quiet. Too quiet… . Thinking that Sombra escaped with their daughter, they got out the weapons that were on the wall that was used for decoration, and then rushed into Flurry Heart’s bedroom. What they found there stunned them to their core… .
“Huh… “ Cadence said in shock. “I honestly never knew that Sombra could do something like this… . It seems… .” “Out of character.” Shining said abruptly, cutting off his wife’s sentence. “I still can’t believe that he’s mama he’s to not harm our daughter… hehe… . Aww darn… ! And I really wanted to pummel him too… . I was just asking for it!”
Both Sombra and Flurry Heart got up abruptly, and then looked to the royal couple with an annoyed look before Sombra began with, “can’t you two just chat about pummeling me some other time… ? I was asleep!” Flurry Heart responded with; “yeah and so was I!” Before throwing one of her pillows at Shining Armor.
Shining Armor sighs, and then says; “sorry honey… . You can go back to sleep now.” Flurry Heart whined, then said; “but I can’t no more… . I don’t feel like it… .” Sombra sighs heavily, and then says; “me too… . So thanks a lot!” Both of the royal couple blushed to this, then Shining Armor asked; “wanna hear a good story???” Both Sombra and Flurry looked at each other, before looking back at the couple before Sombra asked, “what story… ?” Before raising an eyebrow as a sign of caution. Shining Armor smirked, then began with; “the story of a lifetime!” Before beginning his story.
Soon afterwards, everyone was asleep, and no one was harmed!
