My Little Twiley

Chapter 4

Another month had passed since that day. Twilight had been getting a good handle on her levitation, mostly using it on her books so she could read them easily on her own. Which she’s been doing a lot. It took a little time, but she's gotten used to using her magic to do simple things like flipping the page or pressing the button on a remote. She's already finished reading through all the Magic Treehouse books, and started asking for more advanced books. At the rate she was reading, Levi would need to make sure one of the rooms in his new house had a small library so that he could keep Twilight entertained. Levi of course wasn't surprised by this considering he knew Twilight's history of magic school when she was just a filly in Canterlot. With that in mind, another thought occurred to Levi.

I better make sure she doesn’t isolate herself and only focus on studying like she did before she met her five friends. But how can I do that? Maybe I can see if I can get her interested in something else that she can do with friends. “Hey, Twiley?” Levi asked, looking over to her.

Twilight looked away from her book on fossils for a moment to meet Levi’s gaze. “Yeah Dad?”

“Do you wanna take a break from reading and play a game with me?” Levi asked, holding up a Nintendo Switch Joycon.

Twilight raised an eyebrow at that before bookmarking and putting the book down. “A game?” she asked, walking over to Levi.

“Yeah, I think you might have a lot of fun with it.” Levi smiled.

“Well… alright. What kind of game?” Twilight asked.

Levi smirked a bit before inserting the joycon into a mini wheel. “Catch!” He said, lightly tossing the control to Twilight.

“Whoa!” Twilight let out, catching the joycon in her levitation. “Uh… Dad?”

“We’re going to play a game called Mario Kart.” Levi finally answered. “It should be good practice for your levitation.”

Twilight stared at the joycon wheel for a moment in confusion before looking back at Levi. “How?”

Levi chuckled a bit. “Here, watch me first.” He says, starting up a race in single player.

Twilight would watch Levi play very closely, studying what he did. Watching which button he used to accelerate, which button he used for items, and which button he used when turning. She also noticed that when he turned, he turned the wheel like it was an actual steering wheel in a car. “This game looks pretty crazy.” Twilight said with a raised eyebrow.

Levi laughed a bit. “Yeah, it can be really crazy. But it’s a lot of fun!” He says, finishing the race. “You wanna try now?”

“Alright.” Twilight nodded, joining the game now. Twilight soon was met with the character select screen. “Are there any rules on who I pick?”

“No, Twiley. Just pick anyone you like.” Levi chuckled a bit.

“Anyone?” Twilight asked, looking intently at the screen. She goes ahead and picks Princess Peach while Levi picks Link.

“Alright, let’s start with a simple but fun one.” Levi says, loading up Coconut Mall.

Twilight simply nodded, still a little confused by the game itself. Alright, to move I just gotta hold this button. Twilight thought, holding down on the button to accelerate.

“I would wait a little bit before you do that.” Levi warned.

“Huh? Why would I–” Twilight started. But as soon as the race started, she saw that her character didn’t boost ahead. In fact it stayed behind coughing smoke from their kart. “What!?”

“That’s why.” Levi chuckled a bit. “If you wanna do the starting boost, you gotta get the timing right. I’d say start holding the button near the end of the 2nd light.”

“2nd light… Okay, I can remember that.” Twilight nodded as she tried her best to catch up. The two played together for about an hour. Twilight took a little bit to get used to the controls. There were a few times where she would keep hitting a wall or falling off the track. But regardless of the learning curve, Twilight did start getting a better handle on it. And was having a lot of fun playing with Levi.

While they were playing, they suddenly heard the doorbell ring. “Uh oh.” Twilight let out as Levi quickly paused the game.

Levi looked over to Twilight. “Go head to the kitchen for now, okay?”

“Okay.” Twilight nodded before quickly running into the kitchen.

Levi huffed a bit before going to answer the door. Only to be quickly glomped by the woman standing at the entrance. “Gahk!” Levi let out while in a tight embrace.

“Levi! It feels like I haven’t seen you in forever!” She laughed before kissing Levi’s cheek.

Levi just blushed a bit. “Eheheh. Yeah it’s been a while, Jane.” He chuckled, smiling at the woman. Jane wore a white t-shirt under a yellow zipped hoodie. She had brown hair, blue eyes, and was slightly taller than Levi.

Jane giggled a bit before letting go. “So what are you up to?”

“Oh, I was just playing some Mario Kart.” Levi Chuckled a bit, rubbing the back of his head.

“Well have you had anything for lunch yet?” Jane asked. “I could whip something up for the both of us in the kitchen… as long as your parents are okay with that of course.”

“You know they don’t really mind as long as we clean up after.” Levi answered. “And uh… Sure! I’ll meet you there!” Levi said, quickly running ahead into the kitchen.

“Huh?” Jane let out with a look of confusion. She looked to see the Nintendo Switch was on, but she had noticed there were two controllers being used. Looking at the screen, she could see that the game was paused.

In the kitchen, Levi was frantically looking around. “Twilight, where are you??” He whispered, noticing the small filly was nowhere to be seen.

“What are you looking for?” Jane suddenly asked from the kitchen door entrance. She had a quizzical expression when she looked at Levi.

“Just the pasta!” Levi smiled sheepishly. “I was thinking maybe we could have spaghetti and meatballs. You know, something we haven’t had in a while.”

“You know I usually make my pasta from scratch, right?” Jane asked before starting to look around in cabinets herself. “And the sauce too, so just let me handle all that. Can you grab me the eggs?”

“Y-yeah, sure.” Levi said, quickly going to the fridge to get the eggs for Jane.

“Now, where’s that flour?” Jane asked, going through the cabinets. She finally finds the large bag of flour in one of the larger cabinets. “There you are!” She smirks, grabbing it.

As soon as she grabbed the bag, Levi had quickly noticed Twilight’s horn from behind it. “Gaaah!”

“W-what!? What is it??” Jane asked, looking back at Levi.

“I uh… thought I saw a spider. My bad.” Levi blushed.

Jane however just gave him an unamused look. “You’re saying this to the girl who grew up in Australia.” She rolled her eyes, taking out the flour and closing the cabinet; not having noticed the small filly inside. She walked over to the counter, laying out the flour in a way she could put eggs into it. “So… how’s it going trying to get the house sold?” She asked, preparing the dough.

“Actually, I forgot to mention that the house is already sold!” Levi said, smiling.

This of course caused Jane to smile excitedly. “Seriously?? That’s awesome! So when can we move into our new place together?”

“We’ve got until the end of the month to get everything packed and out of here.” Levi answered.

“Perfect~” Jane smirked at him. “I already had all my things shipped from Australia. The storage container should be at the house in a few days or so. I’ll get a head start on getting our new home prepared. And when we’re done, we’ll finally have a place to have some more alone time~”

Levi blushed red at that. “Y-yeah.”

“What??” Jane chuckled. “...Oh shit, your parents aren’t around are they?” She asked, blushing herself.

“N-no no, they’re both out right now.” He answered. “So uh, think we could use that beyond meat stuff for the meatballs?”

“What?” Jane asked wide-eyed. “You can’t be serious. Don’t tell me you’re going vegan on me.”

“Well, it’s not me, it’s mostly for someone else.” Levi answered.

“So there is someone else here, huh?” Jane asked, looking at Levi. “I was wondering why you had two controllers out when you were playing Mario Kart. Are they a friend of yours?”

“Well, she’s kind of more than a friend…” Levi said before slapping himself in the face. Why the hell did I word it like that!?

Jane just paused what she was doing. “...What? She? And the hell do you mean you’re closer than friends with her?”

“Jane, you’re getting the wrong idea.” Levi retorted.

“Okay, then would you mind giving me the right idea??” She asked, slowly losing her patience.

“S-she’s a family member. That’s all.” Levi answered.

“...Oh.” Jane let out, sort of sighing in relief. “The way you said that you had me worried there.” She chuckled a bit before going back to making the pasta. "So where is she?"

"She's around." Levi answered.

"Well I'd like to meet her." Jane added. "How are you related?"

"That's sort of complicated." Levi said, rubbing the back of his head.

"In what way?" Jane asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Oof!" a female voice yelped.

"What the–" Jane let out, quickly moving to where the sound came from. However, what she saw was the last feasible thing she expected to see. ". . . Levi?"

"...Yeah?" Levi gulped.

"...Why is there a small purple unicorn in the kitchen?" Jane asked incredulously.

"That's actually the complicated part." Levi huffed before.picking up the filly. "You okay, Twiley?"

"Mhm." Twilight nodded.

"...Twiley?" Jane asks.

"It's her nickname… for Twilight." Levi clarified.

". . . Levi, can I talk to you privately in the living room?" Jane asked.

"Y-yeah of course." He says, gently placing Twilight back down. "Just wait here for now, okay?"

Twilight looked at Levi with a worried expression but nodded. "Okay, Dad."

"...Okay, let's hurry this up now." Jane says, grabbing Levi's arm, and taking him into the next room.

"H-hey! Take it easy!" Levi exclaimed when they went back into the living room.

"What the fuck is going on here!?" Jane exclaimed.

"Ssshhhh!! Keep your voice down!" Levi whispered.

"Why is freaking Twilight Sparkle here!?" Jane whispered back. "And on top of that, two more questions: Why is she a filly? And why did she call you Dad!?!?"

"Calm down, alright??" Levi whispered back, covering Jane's mouth. "Just let me explain…"

From then, Levi and Jane sat down on the couch. Levi did his best to explain everything that's happened so far. With each detail revealed to her, her facial expression seemed to soften more and more. "So let me see if I'm understanding this right. You just found her in your dad's shed all by herself? No memories– nothing?"

"Yup." Levi nodded. "She didn't even know her own name."

"And you haven't told her where she's from yet?" Jane asked.

"Not yet." Levi said, shaking his head. "I plan to tell her when I think she's ready to know… I feel like telling her now would just overwhelm her."

"This is just so bizarre." Jane huffed. "It's like something out of a storybook. How have your parents been handling it?"

"Well they were definitely surprised. But we've been living together just fine." Levi smiled. "Twilight actually sees them as her grandparents." he says before kissing her cheek. "And I'm willing to bet she'd see you as her mother too~"

Jane just blushed a bit but smirked. "Well, you did say you wanted to have kids eventually. Just wasn't expecting this."

"So you'll be okay with all this?" Levi asked.

"Are you kidding? Being in a family with Twilight?" Jane chuckled. "Who the heck would not be okay with that?"

Levi just smiled at that. “Hey Twilight! Come in here!” Levi called out.

Twilight quickly runs in, looking up at the two. “Yes Dad?”

“Twiley, let me introduce you to my girlfriend, Jane.” Levi says.

“Girlfriend?” Twilight asks, tilting her head.

“That’s right.” Jane smiled. “I guess you could say I’m your Mom~”

“My– My mom??” Twilight asked, wide eyed. “But… where have you been? Where did you even come from? When did you meet?? When did–”

“Okay easy, Miss 20 questions.” Levi says. “Just give us a chance to explain.” He chuckled.

“Let’s see… where to start…” Jane thought. “Shit, how long has it been?”

“Easy on the swearing around her please.” Levi sweat dropped.

“Ack! Right, sorry.” Jane huffed. “Well… I’m pretty sure it’s been over 7 years since we’ve been together. You’ve never really seen me because I normally live in another country completely; Australia.”

“Some say it doesn’t exist.” Levi Chided before getting punched hard in the shoulder by Jane. “O-Ow! Kidding! Jeez!”

“Anyways…” Jane says, rolling her eyes. “I haven’t been around because until recently my job was back in Australia. But by next month, I’ll be moving in with your dad in our own house, so I’ll be getting a new job here.”

“Wow…” Twilight said with a smile. “And where did you two meet?” Twilight asked.

“We met online.” Jane smirked.

“You mean the internet?” Twilight asked, getting a nod from Jane. “Dad says he wants me to stay away from the internet for some reason. I don’t know why though.”

Jane blushed a bit, thinking of all the possible posts and images that could be found on the internet. “He’s probably just trying to make sure you don’t see anything bad. That’s all.”

“But I see Dad on it all the time.” Twilight says, raising an eyebrow. “What’s so bad about it?”

“It’s just–... you’ll learn more about it when you're older.” Jane says.

Twilight just pouts at that. “Alright.”

“Now come on.” Jane smirked, picking up Twilight. “Why don’t you help us cook, huh?”

“Okay!” Twilight smiled as they headed back into the kitchen.

From then, Twilight, Levi, and Jane would spend the time cooking spaghetti and meatless meatballs. (A concept which Jane found to be a paradox). Despite the different taste, all three of them definitely enjoyed their meal. Twilight even begged Jane to make it again next time. They ended up spending the rest of the day playing together, playing more Mario Kart on the Switch, as well as trying out the sports game on it… The two were both glad that joycons were lighter than wii remotes, especially when Twilight launched the control at the T.V. when they were playing the bowling game.
