Chancellor Neighsay couldn't stop thinking about Twilight Sparkle. He knew he had to tell her how he felt, but he was terrified of the consequences. He couldn't risk losing his position as chancellor, and he feared Twilight would reject him.
As days turned into weeks, Chancellor Neighsay's feelings for Twilight only grew stronger. He found himself daydreaming about her, longing to spend more time with her, and even contemplating resigning from his position as chancellor to pursue a relationship with her.
One day, as Twilight was leaving her office, Chancellor Neighsay found the courage to approach her.
"Twilight," he said, his voice trembling.
"There's something I need to tell you."
Twilight turned to face him, her eyes widening in surprise. "Chancellor Neighsay? Is everything okay?"
"I...I've been wanting to tell you this for a while now," he said, his voice shaking slightly. "But I'm afraid of how you might react. I've come to realize that I have feelings for you, Twilight. More than just friendship."
Twilight's eyes widened in surprise. "Chancellor Neighsay, I had no idea."
"I know it's unexpected, and I don't expect you to feel the same way," he said quickly. "I just needed to tell you. Please don't think any less of me for it."
Twilight placed a gentle hoof on his shoulder.
"Chancellor, I appreciate your honesty. And while I don't feel the same way, I hope we can still be friends."
Chancellor Neighsay let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Twilight. Your friendship means everything to me."
