//------------------------------// // Chapter 5 // Story: MLP Versus Goat Simulator // by SonnL //------------------------------// Previously, the Guardians of Harmony had another confrontation with the four goats, which ended with the ponies failing to capture them. Afterwards, the black goat encountered Chrysalis. She tried to turn the goat into her servant, but her hopes for revenge were thrown out the window when she learned the hard way that the goat could not be controlled by her. Her luck continued going south as Discord had her take the blame for the goats’ chaos-making spree. The draconequus captured her and convinced the Mane Six to use the Elements of Harmony to imprison her in stone. After she was petrified, the royal guards placed her in Tartarus.    The Guardians of Harmony returned to Ponyville and Pinkie threw a humongous party. Every pony in the town partook in the party, overjoyed that the one whom they believed to be the culprit behind the goat mayhem was captured and imprisoned. Discord indulged himself with some cupcakes and a cup of punch. He had no regrets for what he did to Chrysalis since she was a villain with pure malevolent intentions. As far as he’s concerned, it was the perfect way for him to avoid any suspicions. While Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle were enjoying some cake, Scootaloo grumbled that the Mane Six did not take her along to Canterlot.    “I wish you took me along to see Chrysalis. I wanted to throw a rotten tomato at her face too. I’m still mad about what happened to my scooter.” Scootaloo pouted while talking to Rainbow Dash.    “Scootaloo, you know we can’t, in good conscience, allow you to go near someone as dangerous as her.” Rainbow replied.    Twilight’s friends were enjoying the party immensely, thinking that their ordeal with the goats was behind them, but Twilight herself had an uncertain look on her face.    “What’s wrong, Sugarcube? Got something on your mind?” Applejack asked curiously.    “How should I put this? Even though Chrysalis admitted that she was behind the goats, some things just don’t add up.” Twilight answered.    “What do you mean?” Applejack inquired.    “Think about this. Why didn’t Chrysalis keep sending the goats to Ponyville if she was out to get us? Why send them to various places? As a matter of fact, why didn’t the goats try to capture or destroy us when they had the chance? Back at Manehattan, Chrysalis had an opportunity for revenge while I was unconscious. Also, do you remember me mentioning that there were no reports of grievous injuries? Aside from all the vandalism, public disturbances, and destruction of property, those who encountered the goats got off easy. Considering how vengeful Chrysalis was, don’t you find it odd that not a single victim was crippled or maimed?”    “Twi, let’s not overthink this. Relax and enjoy the party. Have an apple tart.”    Twilight pondered for a minute, but then decided to follow Applejack’s suggestion.    As everypony hoped for, the goats did not appear since Chrysalis’ imprisonment. But on Celestia’s orders, royal guards continued to patrol every town and city in Equestria just in case. The guards who personally met the goats prayed that they never show up again. Discord was itching to set the goats loose again, but he decided to patiently wait for Equestria to lower their guard first. When no incidents occurred after two weeks, Celestia finally recalled the guards.      On the night of the sixteenth day after the last incident, Luna was doing her usual nightly duties. She was having a relaxing stroll through the dream realm until she heard somepony screaming. She then saw Blueblood having a nightmare in which he was seemingly falling to his doom.    “Not this again.” Luna sighed before intervening.    Blueblood was about to fall into a dumpster, but Luna materialized a giant mass of cotton to break his fall.    “How many times are you going to have this nightmare?” Luna groaned with annoyance.    “I can’t help it! That experience was traumatic for me!” Blueblood whined.    “You really need to see a therapist.” Luna deadpanned.    “Baaaaaaaaaah...!”    The bleat caught Luna and Blueblood’s attention. Appearing before them were the grey, brown, and white goats.    “AAAAAHH!!!!” Blueblood quickly fled due to his fear of goats.    The three goats were then engulfed in electric sparks. The grey goat bolted towards the fleeing Blueblood, aiming to strike him with its electrified horns. Luna used telekinesis to stop the goat just before it struck the unicorn.    At that moment, the white goat spit out a ball of lightning at the moon alicorn. Luna narrowly dodged that attack, but she was then hit by a lightning-fast tackle from the brown goat. As she was sent reeling back, the grey goat followed up by charging at her.    Luna rapidly generated a barrier, saving herself from taking another hit. Undeterred, the three goats went on to attack Luna with a barrage of electric-imbued headbutts.    “Insolent creatures! THE DREAM REALM IS MY DOMINION!!!!” Luna bellowed with her royal Canterlot voice as she unleashed a powerful wave of magic.    Once they were struck by the magical wave, the goats vanished in a puff of smoke.    “What a strange night.” Luna uttered.      Late Afternoon on the next day...    At a café in the village of Somnambula, Dr. Caballeron was sitting outside having a cold drink while thinking of a plan to bring down Daring Do.    The white goat was passing by in broad daylight wearing a backpack leaf blower. The goat activated the device on its back and blew sand in Caballeron’s face.    “HEY!!! WHAT’S THE BIG IDEA?!!!” Caballeron snapped as he shielded his face with his front hooves.    The goat just turned up the power and blew him away. Casually wandering around while keeping the leaf blower on at maximum power, the goat blew sand everywhere and brought about mass hysteria.    Somewhere else in the village, the Pillar of Hope, Somnambula, was having a meditation session with a group of ponies. The session was interrupted when a villager rushed to her frantically.    “Somnambula! There’s trouble! You have to help us!” The villager exclaimed while flailing his hooves.    “Please tell. What troubles you?” Somnambula asked calmly while still meditating.    The villager took a deep breath and then answered. “There’s a wild goat going around blowing sand everywhere!”    Somnambula immediately opened her eyes and showed a bewildered expression. She abruptly ended the meditation session and flew off to investigate. It did not take her long to find the goat.    Somnambula flew at the goat to stop it, only for the goat to aim its leaf blower at her. The Pillar struggled against the gale, but she was ultimately overpowered and blown away.      At Tenochtitlan Basin, the black goat (now Devil Goat thanks to Chrysalis) was taking an easygoing walk in the jungle.    Suddenly jumping out of the bushes and surrounding Devil Goat were four jungle cats: a tiger, a cheetah, a lynx, and a panther. The jungle cats snarled as they slowly and menacingly approached Devil Goat.    Before the jungle cats could pounce, their would-be prey used its power to seize them in a telekinetic grip, put them together in the shape of a ball, and then threw them around until they lost consciousness.    Devil Goat pressed on before coming to an ancient ruin. The creature just walked in through the front entrance like nopony’s business.    “WHO GOES THERE!?” An imposing voice echoed.    Greeting Devil Goat were Ahuizotl and his henchponies. While the henchponies pointed their spears at Devil Goat, Ahuizotl took a moment to gaze at the intruder. He was taken aback by the goat’s strange appearance.    “What manner of creature are you?” Ahuizotl asked with a raised eyebrow.    Devil Goat once again used its power to grab Ahuizotl and his henchponies, put them together into a ball like it did with the jungle cats, and tossed them like ragdolls.    Later at Daring Do’s house, the treasure hunter (while in her A.K. Yearling persona) was writing a manuscript for her next book.    The front door was suddenly knocked down, taking A.K. Yearling by surprise. Her eyes widened as Devil Goat trotted into the house.    “Who are you?! And... What are you?!” A.K. Yearling exclaimed.    Pandemonium broke out as books and furniture were flying all over the place. A.K. Yearling was launched out of the house through a window, and she watched in horror as her house crumbled down.      At Sire’s Hollow, Cheese Sandwich was throwing an enormous birthday party for a filly. The foals were having fun playing games or jumping in a bounce house while the adults mainly socialized and conversed with each other.    “Too bad Starlight couldn’t come today. She has been busy being the guidance counselor of the School of Friendship.” Firelight commented.    “Sunburst couldn’t make it either since he has his duties as the royal crystaller to Princess Flurry Heart of the Crystal Empire.” Stellar Flare added.    While the townsponies partook in whatever the party had to offer, the grey goat slowly walked into the town.    The goat trotted towards the cheery crowd and shapeshifted into the form of a T-Rex. The ponies gasped as their eyes bulged wide and their jaws dropped.    The T-Rex let out a thunderous roar and the ponies stared for a few seconds before they started screaming in fright and running for their lives.    Sire’s Hollow erupted into chaos as the townponies were running and screaming their heads off while the T-Rex demolished buildings by walking through them.      At Dodge Junction, a trio of pegasi known as the Washouts were performing one of their stunt shows. They amazed the crowd by flying through flames and electrically charged hoops, shooting themselves out of cannons, and soaring through obstacle courses filled with spikes and saw blades.    After the show, the three pegasi signed autographs for their fans. An hour later, Lightning Dust signed an autograph for the last pony in line. The Washouts were about to call it a day, but they were approached by the brown goat.    “Baaaaaaaaah...” The goat got their attention.    The Washouts then stared at the creature standing before them.    “Where did you come from?” Lightning Dust asked with a quizzical look.    “A goat? Come to think of it, I heard there was a group of them that caused a lot of trouble in Equestria a few weeks back. You don’t suppose this goat is one of them, do you?” Rolling Thunder said.    The goat swiftly knocked them out by headbutting them. When the Washouts regained consciousness, they found themselves tied up in ropes and lying next to a giant cannon.    “HEY! WHAT’S GOING ON?!” Short Fuse hollered while the Washouts struggled to get free, but the ropes were too tight.    While looking around, they saw the goat opening a hatch on the back of the cannon.    “Wait a minute. What are you going to do with us?” Lightning Dust asked nervously.    The goat then tossed the stunt ponies into the cannon, closed the hatch, and aimed the cannon at the sky.    “Stop! Let us out and untie us!” Rolling Thunder yelled.    “LET US OUT!!!!” Short Fuse cried out.    The goat pressed a red button on the side of the cannon, firing it. The Washouts screamed at the top of their lungs as they were launched high into the sky.      Later in the day, nighttime...    In Canterlot, hundreds of ponies, all wearing tuxedos and dresses, were making their way to the royal castle for one big occasion, the Grand Galloping Gala.    Those attending the gala included the Mane Six, Spike, Starlight, Trixie, and the CMCs. The Young Six were also invited to participate.    As the guests entered the castle in droves, Celestia, Luna, and Twilight welcomed them.    “Is Discord coming?” Celestia asked Twilight.    “He said he won’t be joining us tonight because he has a terrible headache. I’m surprised that can happen to one such as him.” Twilight answered.    “That’s unfortunate. I was looking forward to seeing what chaotic antics he would bring to the gala.” Celestia commented.    “Ugh, after the ordeal with the goats, I think Equestria had its fair share of chaos.” Twilight groaned.    As the gala got underway, the guests mingled and partook in gourmet food. In the chaos dimension, Discord was observing the gala with his TV.    “Time for the real party to begin.” Discord chuckled.    “BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH...!!!!” An extremely loud roar echoed throughout the halls of the castle, startling all the guests and castle staff.    They all turned their attention to the source of the roar, and their eyes widened once they saw Devil Goat, the white goat, and the grey goat. Upon seeing the goats, Blueblood let out a high-pitched scream before fainting.    “The goats?!! They’re back?!! How can this be?!!” Spike exclaimed.    The goats wasted no time giving the ponies of high society a taste of chaos. Devil Goat used its power to throw the tables, food, and some guests around. While enveloped in electric sparks, the grey goat headbutted random ponies as it zigzagged in the castle at lightning-fast speed. The white goat used its backpack leaf blower to unleash gusts of wind. Within mere seconds, the royal ball was filled with mass panic.    “Sister, we must stop them!” Luna told Celestia.    “Guess this won’t be a dull night after all.” Celestia mumbled with a frown.    As ponies were getting headbutted, tossed around, or blown away, Applejack and Rarity shielded their sisters, and Rainbow Dash did the same for Scootaloo. The Young Six were hiding under a table.    “Isn’t there something we can do to help?” Ocellus asked while keeping her head down.    “Maybe we should let the princesses and the professors handle this.” Smolder replied.    “The goats haven’t appeared for over two weeks! Why now?!!” Silverstream cried out.    “Yona is not afraid!!! Yona won’t hide!!!” Yona then charged at Devil Goat.    “YONA!!! STOP!!!” Gallus and Sandbar shouted.    Devil Goat’s power seized Yona and hurled her in the air. Before Yona hit a wall, Starlight caught the yak with her magic and used teleportation to send her and her friends to safety.    Celestia and Luna stepped in to confront the party crashers, but Devil Goat let out a powerful roar that sent them flying into a wall. The brown goat then flew in through a window with a jet pack.    “Hey! That’s the fiend that broke my wagon in half!!!” Trixie bellowed.    While witnessing the goats’ rampage, Fancy Pants and Fleur Dis Lee tried their best to stay clear of this commotion.    “Oh dear. I think it’s best we take our leave.” Fancy Pants uttered with an anxious face.    He and Fleur attempted to sneak away but they were knocked out by the grey goat as it was zooming around. Photo Finish was taking pictures of all the mayhem until the white goat’s leaf blower blew her away.    Royal guards arrived to defend the castle. The unicorns fired a barrage of magic bolts, but Devil Goat used its power to neutralize the blasts. All the guards then rushed at the goats with their spears, only for Devil Goat to telekinetically pull their spears away from them. Subsequently, the brown goat rammed into the pegasi guards while flying around aimlessly. The grey and white goats dealt with the rest. The grey goat simply gave half of them electrically charged headbutts while the white goat blew the other half away.    Scootaloo wanted to go after the brown goat, but Rainbow held her back.    “Let me go! I want to get the brown goat!” Scootaloo yelled out loud.    “Don’t be stupid! Can’t you see how dangerous these goats are?!” Rainbow responded.    While Rainbow was preventing Scootaloo from doing something reckless, Trixie tried assaulting the brown goat by throwing anything she could pick up. However, the brown goat kept flying and dodged all the thrown objects.    “Just hold still and let Trixie hit you!” Trixie continued throwing random objects.    Eventually, she came up with another idea. She then tried using levitation magic to pull the goat down. The problem was that the goat was resisting her magic. Thus, it required great exertion to keep a tight grip on the goat.    With Trixie so focused on the brown goat, she failed to notice the grey goat heading her way. Luckily, Starlight teleported Trixie away before the goat crashed into her.    The grey goat then came rushing towards Starlight, but the unicorn unleashed a magical shockwave that sent the goat flying hard into a wall. Just as she was about to cast another spell, Starlight was blown away by the white goat and the brown goat collided with her in midair.    Twilight teleported the CMCs back to Ponyville, and with the fillies out of harm’s way, the Mane Six and Spike sprang into action.    Rainbow zipped towards the brown goat and delivered a strong punch, sending the goat crashing hard into the floor. The jet pack exploded, and the explosion sent the goat spiraling into the air. Rainbow then kicked the goat, sending it towards Devil Goat. The black-furred goat caught its fellow goat telekinetically and tossed it aside.    Spike breathed out a large torrent of green fire, but Devil Goat used its power to push back the flames. White goat followed up by blowing Spike back with a powerful gust, and Fluttershy caught the dragon.    Twilight used her magic to disable the white goat’s leaf blower, and Pinkie hurled a barrage of cakes at both Devil Goat and white goat. The two goats were not bothered in the least as they stood still and let the cakes hit them. While they were distracted, Applejack bucked the white goat with all of her strength, launching it through a wall and out of the castle.    Devil Goat used its power to hurl a multitude of objects at the Mane Six. Twilight and Rarity used their magic to repel them.    Celestia and Luna recovered, and they both fired beams of magic at Devil Goat. The goat reacted by using its power to hold back the two beams. Devil Goat and the princesses were locked in a power struggle for a short time until the goat’s eyes started glowing. Devil Goat unleashed a bright flash of light that blinded everypony momentarily. Once everypony regained their vision, the four goats disappeared.    With the goats gone, everypony took the time to recover from the uproar. The Mane Six were at a loss for words after seeing the goats again.    “What the hay is going on?!” Applejack spoke up. “Why are the goats back?!”    “Yeah!” Rainbow chimed in. “I thought we stopped the goats when we put Chrysalis in stone!”    “If the goats are back, then does this mean Chrysalis is also back?” Pinkie wondered.    “But that can’t be!” Rarity interjected. “Chrysalis should be in Tartarus!”    “I say we go see for ourselves.” Twilight said.    To check on Chrysalis, the Mane Six arrived at Tartarus via Twilight’s teleportation spell. They went to where Chrysalis was placed and discovered that she was no longer there.    “She’s gone!” Rarity said loudly.    “But how?! Where did she go?! She couldn’t have gotten out of her stone prison, could she?!” Rainbow was just as surprised.    The ponies then found something lying on the spot where Chrysalis’ petrified form used to be. A note was left behind and it said: A showdown will occur at the Crystal Empire tomorrow.    “This is just great. Chrysalis is free and the goats are causing problems for us again.” Applejack grumbled.    “Let’s ask Discord for help.” Pinkie suggested. “He captured Chrysalis once. He can do it again.”    Twilight nodded before calling out to the draconequus. “Discord! We need your help!”    The draconequus did not appear nor reply in any way. The Mane Six continuously called out to him for ten more minutes, but Discord never answered.    “Really?! Where is he when you need him?!” Twilight yelled out in frustration.    “Twilight, Discord said he has a very bad headache so maybe he needs to rest.” Fluttershy reasoned.    “The note says that the Crystal Empire will be attacked tomorrow. What are we going to do about the goats?” Rarity asked.    “All I can say for certain is that we cannot apply common sense to these creatures, so we need to keep our guard up and expect the unexpected.” Twilight stated.      Speaking of Chrysalis, she was in a remote forest, unpetrified and lying on the ground unconscious. Soon, her legs began twitching. She groaned as she opened her eyes.    “Wha... w-where am I?” Chrysalis uttered in confusion while standing back up.    She took some time to collect her thoughts and then everything came back to her. She remembered finding the black goat and attempting to subjugate it, only to fail miserably. She also recalled Discord capturing her and convincing the Guardians of Harmony to use the Elements of Harmony to turn her into stone. Remembering the humiliation, Chrysalis boiled with intense anger.    “Discord... YOU’RE GOING TO PAY!!!!” Chrysalis screeched before throwing a tantrum, firing magic blasts at the nearby trees.    She eventually calmed down after venting her frustrations for nearly twenty minutes. Once she calmed down, a few questions popped up in her head.    “Hold on, why am I free? How did I end up out here?”    She tried thinking of an explanation but decided to put those thoughts aside.    “No point dwelling on it. What matters now is MAKING DISCORD AND THAT INFURIATING GOAT SUFFER!!!!”    She then transformed into an eagle and took flight. While flying, an idea crossed her mind. She figured that the best way to find Discord and the black goat was to stay close to the Guardians of Harmony. She made her way to Ponyville, but she discovered a barrier around the town. She deduced that the barrier was a security measure against the goats and her. Not taking any risks, she decided to perch on a tree outside of the town.      The next morning...    In anticipation for the next confrontation with the goats, the Mane Six equipped themselves with their Elements of Harmony and traveled to the Crystal Empire via train. Spike, Starlight, and Trixie also tagged along. Scootaloo managed to sneak onto the train just before it left Ponyville. Up high in the sky, Chrysalis secretly followed Twilight and her friends while in her eagle form.    After a long train ride, the Guardians of Harmony arrived at the Crystal Empire. The empire’s royal guards were put on high alert and even the Pillars had assembled. Once she was inside the empire, Chrysalis transformed into her unicorn disguise. She came up with another idea. First, she will assist the Mane Six in defeating the goats. With any luck, that will draw Discord out, and that’s when she’ll strike. The thought of putting her hatred for the ponies aside and assisting them made her feel nauseous, but getting payback on Discord and Devil Goat was her primary concern for the time being.    Since the note left in Tartarus never specified the exact time the goats would appear, everyone in the Crystal Empire waited anxiously.    “W-when are the g-goats coming? All this suspense is driving me crazy!” Spike was feeling jittery.    “I understand how you feel, but we can’t lose our cool now. We’re not going to let Chrysalis and her goats have their way anymore.” Twilight said with a determined face.    Nearby, Chrysalis was secretly observing the Mane Six while hiding in plain sight. It deeply irked her that everyone believed her to be the culprit of crimes she didn’t commit, though she wished she actually was the goats’ master. She gritted her teeth while thinking of Discord, but she kept herself composed so she would not draw attention to herself.    While patrolling the empire, two royal guards spotted a penguin walking around. The guards were going to ignore it at first, but then they remembered reading reports of the goats’ shapeshifting abilities.    “Stop right there!” The guards accosted the penguin and crossed their spears in the penguin’s path.    One of the guards then scrutinized the penguin. “Can this really be one of the goats?”    The penguin simply slapped the guard’s face with its flipper. The creature even had enough strength to send the guard flying back. Shocked, the other guard immediately blew on a whistle to alert the empire.    The whistle caught the Mane Six’s attention.    “Let’s go girls!” Twilight commanded.    Just before the Guardians of Harmony leaped into action, they were suddenly enveloped inside dark green magic bubbles. Before they could fully process this, they vanished into thin air.    “TWILIGHT!!!!” Spike screamed.    A moment later, the Mane Six found themselves in a very dark place.    “AAAAAAAH!!! It’s dark!!! Very dark!!!” Pinkie screeched.    Twilight lit up her horn to illuminate their surroundings. The six ponies appeared to be inside a cavern. The walls and ceilings are covered with green crystals that reflect the light coming from Twilight’s horn.    “W-where are we?” Fluttershy asked softly.    The six then heard maniacal laughter, and the voice sounded like Chrysalis.    “Chrysalis! Where are you!? Show yourself!!!” Rainbow Dash bellowed.    “It’s not your turn. You six will have to wait here. For now.” The voice said.    Twilight attempted to teleport herself and her friends back to the Crystal Empire, but her teleportation spell was nullified.    “Ah ah ah. You’re not going anywhere until I say otherwise.” The voice mocked.    “You won’t get away with this!” Rarity yelled.    Back in the Crystal Empire, the penguin was sliding around on the crystal ground while frustrating the pursuing guards. Eventually, the penguin was ensnared in vines controlled by Mistmane.    When thirteen guards surrounded the penguin, the latter changed to its true form, the black-furred goat. The creature released a psychic blast, freeing itself and incapacitating the surrounding guards and Mistmane.    Devil Goat then dodged a beam fired by Starlight. The goat used its power to hurl a maelstrom of random objects at the unicorn. Starlight generated a barrier to protect herself.    Chrysalis (still in her unicorn disguise) stepped in and used her magic to slam Devil Goat into the ground.    “Thanks for the help." Starlight showed her gratitude, unaware of who she was talking to. Chrysalis did not utter a single word.    “If anyone’s going to have the pleasure of tormenting you, it will be me.” Chrysalis thought to herself.    Undaunted by Chrysalis’ surprise attack, Devil Goat instantly rose back up and sent out another psychic blast, causing both Starlight and Chrysalis to reel back. The other three goats entered the fray, dividing the attention of the other Pillars and guards. Trixie confronted the brown goat.    “Beware, you diabolical goat! The Great and Powerful Trixie has a score to settle with you!” Trixie bellowed at the brown goat.    She threw firecrackers at the goat, which literally had no effect at all. The goat retaliated by unleashing a mini tornado. Trixie let out an ear-piercing shriek as the tornado carried her away.    Scootaloo proceeded to throw rocks at the brown goat’s head. But no matter how many rocks she threw, the goat never paid any attention to the filly. Flash Magnus carried Scootaloo away while guards rushed the goat, only to receive headbutts and kicks.    The white goat tossed sticks of dynamite erratically, scaring guards with explosions. The grey goat was carrying a jousting lance in its mouth. It wildly swung the lance around, whacking incoming guards away.    To put an end to the ongoing madness, Star Swirl conjured a magical vortex, the same one he used to banish a trio of sirens to another world. With telekinesis, he seized the four goats and threw them towards the vortex. The goats vanished as soon as they were sucked in.    “It is done.” Star Swirl said.    Just when he thought it was over, the four goats popped out of thin air in front of him.    “That’s not possible!” Star Swirl’s eyes widened in shock.    Devil Goat unleashed a fearsome roar, blowing Star Swirl back and knocking him unconscious. Devil Goat then teleported to somewhere else while the other goats resumed running amok.    Grey goat went back to swinging its lance around. Somnambula flew at the goat, just to get swatted away by its lance. Rockhoof rushed in and used his shovel to attack the goat. The Pillar and the goat fiercely clashed their weapons until Rockhoof broke the goat’s lance. He then struck the goat in the face, sending it rolling back a considerable distance. Unfazed, the goat quickly got back on its hooves. It transformed into its muscular form, but this time, it was also wearing armor covered with spikes. Rockhoof charged at the goat again and swung his shovel, but the goat countered with a headbutt powerful enough to send the Pillar flying. Guards rushed at the goat from multiple directions with their spears pointed at the creature. The goat jumped straight up and then slammed down, creating a shockwave that blew them back.    Meanwhile, Spike was standing in the brown goat’s path.    “Y-you’re n-not taking another s-step! I’ll f-fight... I’ll fight you!” Spike stammered.    The goat’s body turned blue, and the creature started spinning rapidly like a wheel on the spot.    “Huh?” Spike was so bewildered that he did not know how to react.    The goat then dashed towards Spike at high speed. The dragon yelped as he jumped out of the way. The goat kept going in its current direction until it crashed into the crystal statue of Spike. The statue fell over and shattered into hundreds of pieces.    “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...!!!!” Spike cried out dramatically after witnessing the destruction of his statue.    The goat changed back to brown and used its tongue to pick up and throw the statue’s fragments around, like a foal playing with toys.    Furious at the goat, Spike breathed out a wide stream of fire at it. The goat was covered in flames, but to Spike’s surprise, it was not disturbed by its burning fur. The goat struck back by spitting out a ball of fire at the dragon, sending him flying into a nearby building.    After putting Scootaloo in a safe place, Flash Magnus came back and flew at the brown goat. The flaming goat aimed a barrage of fireballs at the approaching Pillar, and the pegasus used his shield to block the fiery projectiles. Brown goat then spit out a much larger fireball and overpowered Flash Magnus with a huge explosion.    As for Meadowbrook, she tried stopping the white goat by throwing potions at it. Unfortunately, her attacks were utterly ineffective. White goat shot out a blue spark from its mouth, and when it hit Meadowbrook, she flailed uncontrollably as her body was surrounded by blue sparks. While Starlight and Chrysalis were firing magic blasts at the grey goat, the white goat launched blue sparks at the two, causing them to spasm. Chrysalis was lucky that she was able to maintain her disguise.    Inside the royal palace, Devil Goat was tearing the library apart. Sunburst got caught in the goat’s rampage and so he was tossed around. Many guards came to face the goat, but after they entered the library, they were assaulted by a storm of books.    When Devil Goat strolled out of the library, it was confronted by Cadance, Shining Armor, and many more guards. Devil Goat casually released a dark shockwave that rendered all of them unconscious. The goat then took a stroll through the hallway. Suddenly, somepony appeared right in front of the creature.    Flurry Heart confronted Devil Goat, wanting to avenge her Whammy. She narrowed her eyes, preparing for a showdown. Devil Goat just stared at the baby alicorn with its usual vacant expression. The baby alicorn began with a bombardment of magic blasts, but Devil Goat used its power to nullify her attacks. The goat then tossed Flurry out of a window, but it was no problem for her since she can fly. The baby alicorn teleported and reappeared above Devil Goat. She fired a powerful magical blast, sending the goat down through several floors.    As usual, Devil Goat got back up like nothing fazes it. Flurry Heart continued with her attack and fired a continuous beam, which Devil Goat was pushing back. The two were locked in a power struggle until the baby alicorn poured more power into her attack. Flurry kept launching her adversary through walls, but the latter would not stay down. The baby alicorn may have great magical power, but the one advantage Devil Goat has is that it doesn’t feel pain. In fact, the four chaos goats don’t even have the concept of pain.    Inside the mysterious cavern, the Mane Six were trying to find a way out. Twilight tried blasting the walls, but her magic did not leave a scratch.    “Come on! Is there any way out of here?!” Rainbow was expressing her unease.    “I’m not sure if there is, darling. There’s no exit in sight.” Rarity was also getting worried.    “Seems like all we can do is wait for Chrysalis to let us out.” Pinkie remarked.    “We can’t just sit here and do nothing! Who knows what could be happening in the Crystal Empire right now!” Twilight continued searching for a solution.    Soon, a sudden flash of light appeared directly above their heads, forcing the Mane Six to cover their eyes briefly. Once they opened their eyes again, they found themselves back in the Crystal Empire.    “Hey! We’re back!” Pinkie jumped up with joy.    “Look!” Fluttershy pointed her hoof towards the grey, white, and brown goats.    The Guardians of Harmony were about to use the Elements of Harmony, but white goat and brown goat launched lightning sparks and fireballs, disrupting their focus and putting them on the defensive. Grey goat charged at Applejack to headbutt her. The Earth pony dodged and caught the goat with her enchanted lasso. Grey goat resisted the lasso and slammed its body on the ground, producing a shockwave that knocked Applejack off balance.    At this moment, Flurry blasted Devil Goat out of the castle, sending the creature plummeting into the streets. A crater was created on where the goat fell. Far from finished, Devil Goat rose back up once more and let out a loud roar. Once the other three goats heard this, they immediately headed for their black-furred ally, as if they were answering a call. Twilight and her friends followed them.    It did not take long for all four goats to assemble. Devil Goat was then engulfed in a dark aura, and it released energy streams that connected to the other three goats. In the following moments, Devil Goat increased in size while the rest of the goats faded away. The Mane Six stared with their mouths opened wide as Devil Goat grew to the size of a giant.    From its horns, Mega Devil Goat fired a dark energy beam at a crystal house. The house disintegrated, but the crystal ponies inside were left unharmed. After their house was vaporized, the ponies just screamed and ran away. Mega Devil Goat then fired a beam at another house, disintegrating it as well.    “We have to stop this thing or else the Crystal Empire will be destroyed!” Applejack pointed out the severity of the situation.    “Then there’s one thing we need to do! Use the Elements!” Twilight urged.    The Mane Six prepared to use the Elements of Harmony, but Mega Devil Goat interrupted them with a roar, sending out shockwaves that forced the six ponies to scatter.    The creature went on creating even more damage with hardly any opposition. Starlight and Chrysalis tried using their magic to slow down the goat, but none of their spells had any effect. Rainbow flew towards Mega Devil Goat at breakneck speed, only to be repelled by a dark magical pressure surrounding the giant creature. Twilight, Rarity, Starlight, and Chrysalis initiated a combined barrage of magic blasts, but all their efforts proved to be fruitless.    Back in the castle, Flurry Heart went to her unconscious parents and repeatedly poked them with her hoof until they regained consciousness.    “F-Flurry?” Cadance uttered after opening her eyes.    While babbling, Flurry pointed to the outside. Cadance and Shining Armor then looked out of the castle and saw Mega Devil Goat destroying one building after another.    “I think there is a way to stop it!” Cadance came up with a plan.    She explained it to her husband, and the family went to the Crystal Heart.    “Are you ready?” Cadance asked as they stood close to the crystal.    “Ready!” Shining Armor answered.    Cadance, Flurry Heart, and Shining Armor lit up their horns together and combined their magic. The Crystal Heart glowed brightly and magnified their power.    A radiant magical wave spread throughout the Crystal Empire, giving everypony inside the empire a crystal-like shine. Since Chrysalis has a wicked heart, the magic wave forced her out.    “NOT AGAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIINNNNN!!!!” Chrysalis wailed as she was launched far away from the empire.    Mega Devil Goat wasn’t blown away, but the wave did stun it, providing an opening for the Guardians of Harmony.    “Now girls!” Twilight shouted.    Using the Elements of Harmony, the Mane Six released a huge rainbow beam that completely enshrouded the gigantic goat. The creature did not let out a single cry as it dissipated inside the rainbow light.    With the apparent defeat of their adversary, the six ponies let out sighs of relief. Shortly afterwards, they heard clapping. They turned their attention to the source of the sound and saw that it was Discord.    “Well done. Bravo.” The draconequus applauded.    “You were watching the entire time?! Why didn’t you help?!” Rainbow shouted.    “Come now. I always knew you would succeed.” Discord answered nonchalantly.    Twilight then approached Discord with a stern look.    “Discord, I think it’s time you owe us an explanation. Chrysalis wasn’t behind the goats, was she?” Twilight narrowed her eyes at the Lord of Chaos.    Twilight’s friends had an expression of shock on their faces, but before the alicorn could continue, Discord quickly snapped his finger and the whole world was engulfed in white.    In the next minute, everything returned to normal. All the damage the goats had done has been reversed, like they never happened. At Ponyville, the Guardians of Harmony were teaching their classes in the School of Friendship, the CMCs were attending class in the Ponyville Schoolhouse, and Trixie was taking a nap in her wagon. In the Crystal Empire, Flurry Heart was playing with her Whammy. In Canterlot Castle, Celestia and Luna were having a private discussion concerning their plans to retire and pass on the ruling of Equestria to Twilight and her friends. As for Chrysalis, she is back to spending her days in hiding and plotting revenge on Starlight and the Mane Six.    Back in the chaos dimension, Discord was feeling slightly depressed.    “Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Shame I had to erase everyone’s memories of the goats, but it’s for the best. Twilight was about to correctly accuse me of being responsible for all the chaos, and she and her friends would say something like, ‘Discord, what you did was terrible. You caused so much damage and endangered innocent lives.’ Blah Blah Blah. But hey, I made sure no creature got hurt... badly. Yes, there was that one timberwolf that got smashed into tiny pieces back in the first chapter, but...  I’m certain nopony would care about that random predator.”    The draconequus then lay on his couch and closed his eyes as he began contemplating what to do moving forward.    “I could resummon the goats, let them run around Equestria once more, and erase everyone’s memories again. But it wouldn’t be as interesting as the first time.”    After a few hours of deep thinking, Discord’s eyes opened wide as he just remembered something. He then teleported to a cave and snapped his finger, bringing the four goats back into existence, with the black goat back in its original form. With another snap of his finger, the Lord of Chaos created a portal that leads to the human world.    “My friends, you’re going to another place. However, be warned that I won’t be able to intervene if you get into a bind since this is another dimension. Of course, I placed magical safeguards on each of you, so you won’t cripple, maim, or unalive anyone, whether directly or indirectly. Wouldn’t want any of that on my conscience. Now go have fun. Lots of fun.”    The goats entered the portal, heading for the human world. And with that, the saga of the goat chaos in Equestria has come to a close. But one ending is a new beginning. How will Sunset Shimmer and her friends handle all the chaos that’s coming their way? This is a story for another time.
