//------------------------------// // Prologue: The poem // Story: The Ancient Guardians // by autobotfan15 //------------------------------// When heroes no longer save the day… The monsters will come out to play… Only to make evil suffer and pay… Until it no longer wants to stay… Everything will soon be Okay… Fate always has a way… That’s what the withering scroll said as a little filly named Petunia, a young archeologist, dug it up and showed it to her fellow explorers. An elderly mare stared at it for a moment then turned to Petunia. “And where did you say you found this young mare?” “In an old treasure chest right over there. The lock looked completely busted and rusted. It must’ve been here for ages.” Petunia said almost excitedly. The other ponies gathered around it. The chest had a rusty metal frame and rotting wood with holes in it. Just like almost everything else around the area. The group were exploring a small area near the coast of Equestria near the city of Fillydelphia. The area had small buildings, caves, and two wrecked and abandoned wooden ships. Some have speculated this was where pirates once camped and hid their treasure. Others say this was where hippogriffs once lived before they were forced to Mount Aris by the storm king. But sadly there was no other treasure other than the chest that had this old scroll and the Hippogriffs immediately debunked the theory about this place being an early settlement. The elderly mare just continued to stare at the scroll getting an odd feeling from it. Eventually she shook off the feeling. "Well either way its a very interesting find Petunia. Hopefully the top professors from the University can figure out more about this and maybe this place as well." The group continued to search the area until they decided to pack up and leave. As they all left a mysterious hooded figure with a horn watched them leave. He sighed as he began talking to himself. His voice sounding like he was full of wisdom and experience. "Every Universe is different from another. No two universes are ever the same. But in most universes evil always has an adversary so powerful they'll have no choice but to either surrender or suffer. There are just so many ways a villain can be taken down." With a flicker of his unicorn horn he opened a portal and walked right in. "Lets take a look shall we?"
