After running for a while Apple Bloom, the Mario Bros., Toadette, Blue and Yellow reached a plains area with acorn trees, hills shrubs and jagged mountains. Apple Bloom looked around noticing a group of Waddlewings (orange fur flying squirrels with brown hands and feet, a red beaded eyes and incisor teeth) holding what she think are acorns but have red and white stripes and a red face with….eyes.
"Hey Toadette, what kind of squirrels are those and those acorns that have eyes?" Apple Bloom turned to the female toad hoping she would know.
"Oh those flying squirrels are Waddlewings they mostly live here or in sky, and the acorns they're carrying are Super Acorns, don't get to weirded out by the eyes they're not sentient." Toadette explained.
"Yeah it was weird to see eyes on power ups for the first time, but you'll get use it with time." Luigi rubbed the back of his head, thinking back to first time he and Mario used a power up. Apple Bloom nods her head in understanding.
"Hey look question blocks." Buck pointed out then running under then jumped and hit them spouting out coins. "Neat."
Mario then notice Goombas (brown mushrooms with brown feet and thin eye brows) charging at Blue and slid under one and uppercut the other one, knocking them out.
“What are they?” Apple Bloom asked shocked that Mario beat them up.
“Goombas.” Yellow replied. “They’re the most common creatures that you can find in Bowser’s army.”
“But some Goombas would rather live peacefully, there’s a village that’s near the castle called Goomba Village.” Toadette explained.
Blue then hit another set of question blocks and Super Acorns and two Super Crowns appeared.
Mario, Luigi, Yellow and Blue grabbed the Super Acorns while Toadette and Apple Bloom grabbed the Super Crowns. “ I wonder why we get crowns while you guys get Super Acorns?” Toadette held up the crown.
“Maybe you should put it on and see what happens.” Yellow suggested.
Toadette and Apple Bloom looked at each other for a second, then shrugged and put the crowns on their heads. A bright light engulfed them both as they changed.
Toadette appeared almost like Princess Peach, but with a pink mushroom dress, red earrings a Toad-like cape crown and a magenta bow with a yellow brooch. Her hair was like Peach but with pigtails in the back, her eyes were grey and she had Toad shoes.
Apple Bloom appeared older as a teen with a dress that reminds her of her home. Her dress was apple-like, the top part of the dress was tan red while the bottom was peach and green. The brooch was a apple and the crown was apple-like.
Toadette and Apple Bloom were astonished with their new look and judging by the boys reaction, yeah their surprised too. "Wow, you guys...look amazing." Blue tried to complement them but is to surprised by what happened.
"Yeah, Toadette you look like Peach." Luigi recovered from his shock to notice the change in appearance with the girls. "And Apple Bloom you look amazing that dress.
"So this is what the crown does, makes me look like Peach and makes Apple Bloom older with a dress." Toadette examined herself and Apple Bloom.
’I wonder if crown gave us some abilities that we can use.’ Apple Bloom thought. “Maybe we should find out what abilities the crown gave us.”
“Alright, let’s continue and find out.” Toadette suggested.
“Sounds good to me.” Mario said as he, Luigi, Blue and Yellow eats the acorns and gain the flying squirrel suit.
The area consists of platforms, blocks and pipes with enemies like Goombas, Waddlewings, Koopas and a Parinah Plant. A red ring was floating between brick blocks, a set of stairs with a flag pole at the end.
As they cross the level, Toadette spotted a Star Coin floating in the air. So she jumped on the platform above her then jump towards the coin when she started to float, taking her by surprise she almost missed the coin.
“Woah, did you just float?” Yellow asked.
“Yeah, I think this dress allowed me to float just like Peach.” Toadette exclaimed.
“Ok, now I want to know what else this crown can do.” Apple Bloom said excited to find what else the crown can do.
Continuing through the level, Mario goes down a pipe and coming out the other pipe with a Star Coin.
“What’s with the coins?” Apple Bloom asked.
“They’re to open paths that are blocked by signs, for secret worlds and etc.” Mario explained.
“Secret worlds?” Apple Bloom was now ecstatic, she was always up for adventure and the mention of secret worlds seem right up her ally.
"Apple Bloom, they also provide a challenge in each level, so if your going to go into one, be careful." Mario warned knowing how challenging those secret worlds are.
Apple Bloom just shrugs it off. "No need to worry." She binds no mind to to Mario's warning.
"I'm going to worry even more when she says that" Toadeette sighs with concern.
They continue further jumping over gasps and stomping Goombas and Waddlewings, pasting through a checkpoint flag they stop at a wrap pipe when a Piranha Plant (A red Venus flytrap with white spots and sharp teeth, while the leaves are razor sharp) came out the pipe.
"Let me guess, they eat anything?" Apple Bloom asked staring at the plant.
"Yep" Everyone else answered.
"Makes since." Apple Bloom and everyone else jumped over the plant and continued on to the red circle. To which they pass through and eight red coins appeared, two in the air, two on the pipe, two on brick blocks and two on the ground. They collected all eight and Super Acorns and Super Crowns dropped from the air and they collected them.
Going through a pipe they find themselves in the clouds with coins, Waddlewings and the last Star Coin.
“Oh this is going to be fun.” Apple Bloom looked down at the area below, then she jumped and float down. “Woo ooh.”
“Hey wait for us.” Toadette and rest followed after her gliding/floating down while avoiding the Waddlewings.
It toke awhile but after collecting the last Star Coin, going through the pipe at the bottom of the area and up a set of stairs, they slid down the flagpole.
"That was fun." Apple Bloom jumped up and down with excitement.
"If you thing that was fun then your in for a surprise." Mario said with smile.
The group continued until they reached a dead end with a pipe that goes underground. "What now?" Apple Bloom asked perplexed.
"We go underground, come on." Yellow said entering the pipe with the others following.
The underground area had pipes with some having Piranha Plants and crystals that blocked off paths, Koopas, Goombas and Buzzy Beetles (Bipedal koopas with dark blue shells and red eyes) where also present here.
"Rarity would love this place." Apple Bloom looked in amazement. "Who?" Blue asked. "She's my friend's, Sweetie Belle, sister and she would use gems for dresses." Apple Bloom answered. "So she a seamstress?" Toadette asked. "Yep."
The group travels through the tunnels avoiding Goombas and Piranha Plants until they reached the first set crystals that shifted when they got close. "Woah, they shifted." Apple Bloom said in amazement almost slipping off before regaining her balance.
"Careful, it seems that these crystals will shift into different directions to open different paths." Toadette warned.
The path lead to more shifting crystals some shifting down some shifting up making trekking through difficult. Toadette got to close to a Piranha Plant and it bit her making her loss her Peachette form. "Darn it, going through this is tricky with these shifting crystals."
"Then lets take our time with it." Yellow suggested.
The group reached a section where the crystals make a slope allowing them to slide down knocking out Goombas into a small ramp allowing them to finally collect the first Star Coin of the level. They reached the Checkpoint Flag making it halfway through.
After gaining a Fire Flower Toadette stomped on a Koopa, grabbed its shell and threw it at a brick block making a vine sprout out and into the sky. "How did you know there was a vine in that block?" Apple Bloom asked amazed.
"I notice the block's position, remember always expect secrets." Toadette said climbing the vine with Apple Bloom climbing after her.
When they reached the top of the vine they saw a pipe on the platform with coins and the second Star Coin in the air.
Toadette told Apple Bloom to use the pipe. Apple Bloom climbed into the pipe and the pipe bended then fired her out like a cannon into the Star Coin.
Apple Bloom landed back with the rest of group stunned that she was fired out of a pipe, Toadette landed not long after with a smirk and laughing.
Apple Bloom just glares then walked off with her snout in the air.
"Pipe Cannon?" Blue asked.
"Pipe Cannon." Toadette chuckled. "It was so funny."
"It was not." Apple Bloom turned annoyed that she wasn't warned. "You could have warned me."
"Okay, I'm sorry Apple Bloom, but you got to admit, it was quite fun." Toadette apologies.
Apple Bloom though for a while then laughed. "Ok, your right, it was fun."
"Right" Toadette nodded.
They continued onwards collecting Red Coins for new power ups that they store for later. Yellow notice two blue crystals with a arrow sign on one, so he ground pounded them making the crystals shift to reveal a Warp Pipe. Going down he appeared in a area with two more blue crystals that shifted allowing him to collect the last Star Coin.
Coming back, the group finally goes into a Warp Pipe and are outside siding down the flagpole.
"Daylight!" Luigi screamed taking a breath of fresh air. "I though we were going to be in there for hours."
Mario took off cap and stretched, looking over at Peach's Castle he noticed the flags have been changed to Bowser's flags. "Come on guys, we got to go."
A large tower stood in front of our heroes, Apple Bloom looked at it in wonder. "So what's the deal with this here tower?"
"Usually with all towers of fortresses if you want to call them, has a boss that we fight against, mainly Boom Boom." Luigi answered.
"Boom Boom? Apple Bloom raised a eyebrow.
"The name makes since when you see him." Mario told her before approaching the doors.
When the doors opened the group ran inside and were met with a simple layout for a tower. Stone cogs were moving different spots of the tower, Dry Bones(Living skeletons of Koopas) walked about on platforms.
Going up the tower won't be easy, the group used the first cog to get to the platform above, Apple Bloom stomping the Dry Bone making it crumble, only for it to rebuild itself a few seconds later.
"They can do that?" Apple Bloom asked in amazement.
"Yep." Yellow answered. The only way to really defeat them would to drop them in lava or this." He took a Ice Flower and shot an ice ball at the Dry Bones, freezing it, then he picked it up and threw it against the wall shattering the ice and the Dry Bone.
Apple Bloom backed up a little stunned to see that the skeleton was shattered to pieces. "Wow."
"Yeah they'll just need to recover for a few minutes, but it's creeps me out." Luigi cringed.
Mario notice a stone platform moving down from a wall and though some sorta of secret in there. He jumped on the while it raised up and he was right and collected a Star Coin.
The group of heroes continued to climb the tower, being careful not get crushed and taking out Dry Bones along the way. Apple Bloom noticed another Star Coin in a wall and floated over to it, grabbed it and continued the climb. They reached the checkpoint and continued to climb up using the cogs to reach a platform, with Yellow come from another secret wall that had the last Star Coin.
Defeating the Dry Bones in the area, our heroes reached a door that looked to be made out of scales and entered.
When they entered they where greeted by a Bob-omb(Living bombs with feet, a fuse and a windup key).
"Aww, it's so cute." Apple Bloom gushed as she picked the Bob-omb up.
"Uh, Apple Bloom, I wouldn't pick that up if I was you." Toadette warned knowing very well what will happen.
"Why, what wrong?" Apple Bloom questioned, she got her answer when she saw the fuse was lit. "Oh." She said surprised.
BOOM!
When the smoke cleared Apple Bloom was on the ground stunned without the super crown gone.
"Apple Bloom!" Toadette, Luigi and Mario rushed to her. "Are you ok." Toadette asked concerned.
Apple Bloom coughed a little and sat up. "Yeah, I'll be alright, but that was a surprise."
"OHOH!" Said a deep voice from above. "You finally made it." Said the voice as a figure dropped near them.
The figure turned out to be a giant Bob-omb with gloved hands yellow shoes a big gold crown and a mustache.
"King Bob-omb!" Mario gasped. "Why are you here?"
"Well if you must know Bowser Jr. enlisted a few elite soldiers, including me, to stop you from reaching Peach's Castle." King Bob-omb said proudly. "But enough of that, Let's fight."
KIng Bob-omb threw two lit bomb-ombs making everyone scatter, then one at Mario which plumber kicked away before blew. King Bob-omb another at Yellow who jumped out of the way.
"What's this guys deals?" Apple Bloom asked as she avoids a bob-omb.
"He the king of all Bob-ombs, Mario, Yoshi, Luigi and Wario fought him before." Toadette said throwing a Bob-omb away.
Apple Bloom ducked under from a flying bob-omb then turned to Mario. "How do we defeat him?"
Mario turned to Apple Bloom and said. "Usally we have to pick him up and throw him, but gonna be difficult now."
King Bob-omb kept throwing his minions at the gang. "You can't beat me, even if I was stunned you stood couldn't beat me."
Yellow then though, grabbed bob-omb and threw it at King Bob-omb. The bomb blew up King Bob-omb's face stunning him. Blue saw this and ran to King Bob-omb, then picked him up and threw him to the ground.
"Oof." King Bob-omb huffed. "Oh that's smart."
"Grab a Bob-omb and throw it at him." Yellow yelled.
"Got it." The others nodded.
King Bob-omb would have none it as he stomped his feet while Bob-ombs rained down from the ceiling. The gang ran around to avoid the raining Bob-ombs. King Bob-omb stopped then procced to throw more Bob-ombs. Luigi managed to kick one at giant Bob-omb which stunned him and again. Mario then picked him up and threw him to ground.
"Oh, that's does it." The big Bob-omb was now mad as he stomped the ground, this time more violently, making more Bob-ombs rain down. After the shower of Bob-ombs, King Bob-omb threw more Bob-ombs this time in a rapid suctions. It was getting harder to dodge the incoming bombs, some some being close call. But finally Apple Bloom was able to catch one with her tail and send it right Back at King Bob-omb. Toadette picked him jumped and threw to the ground.
"Impossible, how were able to defeat me." King Bob-omb said as he fell off the stage.
"Did we win?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Yeah, we won. Luigi said looking relief.
"Good." Apple Bloom sat down to take in everything that she just experience so far. This is everything she wanted in her adventure with her friends and she wanted more. "So is this what you guys go through?"
"Pretty much." Mario answered. "But we still got more before our adventure is over." "More?" Apple Bloom's eyes grew into saucers.
Mario shock his head confirming to her that there's more. "Remember every adventure like this ends with Bowser."
