The Alicorns' Vow

by Rewan Demontay

Daybreaker's Delight

Embrace the warm
The sunlight's swarm
Of giving rays
And heat to all

I enjoy the inferno
This puzzling, pulsating
Sphere of fury
Of not my own
A divine object

I control
In constant vigil
That which brings
Our life eternal
Keeping me immortal

Why and how
I cannot tell
Of how I do it
Except it fuels me

Sun core, my core
Always burning for more
Nigh forevermore
A passion for us both
Creation
Destruction
A pleasant encore

I can giveth and taketh
For thou cannot
Kill an immortal
Impervious as the sun
If less hot

How I am
The chariot of light
Fated shine
This wretched world
I cannot say

Why I continue on
I can say
This world in control
To do as I please
Life itself
Before my crown

Every twelfth hour
Or so and such
As seasons pass
I once rose the sun
A thousand summers
Gone and alone

Why continue?
Care for these creatures?
When my sister was gone
And I was alone

Simply put
The sun gave me life
Will to carry on
Until the very day
We could meet

Every morning merry
A small sliver shone
Smiling rays
Unto me
Their goddess

Across the astral plane
I moved myself
Up and down
My emotions went

At last
After a thousand mornings
One the thousandth-first
My sister returnth
And elements corrupted
Morphing me with glee

I become whole
My fiery form unleashed
With this blast
From magic past
My glorious, inevitable
Deserved metamorphosis
Into who I truly
Was meant to be

With sister at side
Our furious alliance
Moral chains unsnapped
At long last

So prepare
Whether loyal or scared
For our rule
Never again
Shall the sun seem
Same or sane

Be nice to us
For our niceness to you
Hail your goddesses
Queens of this planet
Controls of
The bejeweled, entwined bodies

Celestia is dead
Our celestial prowess prows now
We reign
In my light
There is no out
