It was spring break for the school of friendship all the students were saying their goodbyes and heading home. One griffin however was even more sad than any creature as he boarded the train all he could think about was all his friends going home to their family’s while there was nothing in griffonsdail waiting for him.
After getting of the train Gallus started to walk towards griffonsdail he stopped and wondered if he should even keep going. His whole life he was alone no family and until he started going to twilights school of friendship.
Suddenly before he even knew what was going on gallus was jumped and placed in a bag as he clawed and squirmed trying to get out, he could heir the two creatures say, "this one's a fighter good he’s going to need to be one for what we got in stored for him".
When gallus was finally let out of the bag they put chains around his claws and placed in a cell one of the creatures that brought him here a yack with a broken horn and an eyepatch on his right eye looked at him and said,
"you’re a lot smaller than we thought if you’re lucky maybe you’ll last longer than a minutes out there".
Gallus grabbed the bares and started to shake them screaming at them to let him out suddenly he heard a voice behind him.
"Even if you could break out, they would catch you and put you in another one trust me I’ve been here for a weak and they put me in four times" Gallus turned to see a blue earth pony with a white around his left eye and asked.
"Who are you where am I?
The blue earth pony looked at him and said, "my name is clutterstep and you’re in the battle pit".
Gallus walked up to clutterstep and asked him "what is battle pit what do they want with us?
"Battle pit is a fighting arena on an island outside of equestria their leader is a minotaur named iron gauntlet he gathers other creatures to fight in his arena".
"Then how do we get out of here? I’m not sticking around to be some two-legged cows' amusement"!
"Sorry kid I’ve tried and there are creatures that’s been here for years iron gantlet made sure of it".
"So were stuck here forever on this stupid island" gallus said as he kicked a rock at the cell wall.
Clutterstep looked at the sad griffon and said,
"There is only one way to go free and that’s to beat his champion".
"Who’s this champion."
"I’ve never seen him all I know is he’s been here for a hundred years, and no one has left yet".
One of the guards walked up to their cell and said to them
"Congratulations bullseye the boss is sending you out there with a partner let's see if you can get lucky this time".
Clutterstep and gallus were taken to the arena a metal cage was surrounding it so no one could fly out. On the outside a bunch minitours and other creatures cheering along the walls and on the ground of the arena were chains and weapons. Gallus looked at clutterstep and asked,
"So, who are we up against" Clutterstep with a nerve's expression said to him.
"There's no way to know it could be anything". Both clutterstep and gallus looked at the gate at the end of the arena when it opened up out came a giant timber wolf three times the size of a normal one. Gallus slowly started to back away and asked clutterstep
"What are we going to do"?
"Fallow my lead" clutterstep said as he lifted one hoof up and shouted "ruuuuun".
Clutterstep ran for his life with gallus flying right behind him he flew right over the blue pony and asked.
"So, what do we do know" clutterstep looked up at the blue griffin and spoke.
"Run and stay alive" Gallus now angry with the blue pony shouted at him
"that's your" plan. Clutterstep with a smug grin on his face said to the griffin as he flew past clutterstep
"what its kept me alive this long"!
The timber wolf with his mouth opened wide with its fangs sticking out lunged at the two clutterstep not looking where he was going tripped on a broken piece on the arenas Flore as he did, he grabbed on to Galuses tail and pulled him down with him. The timber wolf missed the pony and griffon as it landed its front left leg snaped in two as the timber wolf stumbled trying to right itself it got its head stuck in the gap in the cage, they were in. Trying to get its head free from the cage but no matter how much it pulled it could not get free. Clutterstep turned to look at gallus and said while shrugging his shoulders and waving at the timber wolf.
"See I told you I had a plan".
As the two stood up they could hear the Croud boing at them the minotaur king smashed his fist on the arm rest of his stone throne and breaking it off. Iron gauntlet called to one of his solder's.
"zangef come here" the Yake with the eye patch walked up to the king.
"You called for me my lord" the Yake said knelling before him!
"I have had enough of that puny blue pony when he first got here, he was so scrawny I thought he wouldn't make it thought his first fight I even put him against the only thing we had that was as small as he was some tiny deer we found in the forest. I put him up against him because the deer had tried to escape the night before but that stupid pony wouldn't fight no matter what we did so we locked him in his cell for the next three days with no food to teach him a lessen but no matter what we do his stubbornness and dumb luck keeps pulling him ahead".
"You told me to use his kind hart agents him that he would be so worried about that young griffin that he wouldn't be watching out for himself, and the timber wolf would get him".
"I'm sorry my lord" said the Yake as he lowered his head the king looked at Clutterstep so angry flames nearly shot out his nostrils.
"that's it no more games for his next fight he will go against our champion and his new friend can join him".
