Growing Bonds

Chapter 10: Different place (zacks P.O.V) (rough draft)

I slowly woke up, feeling a sense of warmth and comfort that I hadn't felt in a long time. I turned my head to see Flurry sleeping peacefully beside me, with one of her wings wrapped around my body.

I couldn't help but smile at the sight of her. It was a new feeling for me, waking up next to someone I cared about, and it felt wonderful. I gently brushed a strand of hair off her face, not wanting to wake her up.

As I lay there, lost in thought, I couldn't help but wonder what the future held for us. We had been through a lot, but I was determined to make things work between us, and I knew that no matter what comes next, I will always be with her.

After a few minutes, Flurry slowly began to wake up, giving me a smile. "Good morning, Zack," she said softly. Stretching her body and letting out a soft yawn.

"Good morning, Flurry," I replied, still smiling. "How did you sleep?"

Flurry moved closer to me, snuggling up against my chest. "I slept great," she said in a soft voice. "It's been a while since I slept this well"

I kissed Flurry on the forehead. "I'm glad to hear that". We layed there for a while longer, enjoying each other's company in comfortable silence. Eventually, we both crawled out of bed and opened the door to get ready for the day. But when we opened the door,

we saw Cadence standing on the other side of the door with two guards standing behind her looking at both of us with disappointment

"guards send this changeling to the dungeon," Cadence said with anger in her eyes"
the guards nodded as they preceded to try and restrain me

I took a step back, trying to make sense of the situation. "Cadence, what's going on? Why are you having me arrested?" I asked, feeling a sense of panic rise within me.

"You know why," Cadence replied coldly,  "you came into my empire without my knowledge you breached the castle and you have been with my daughter since she was a baby."

Flurry stepped forward, trying to defend me. "Mom, please! that's not what happened. He came here when he was a baby by accident, and he has harmed me at all. He's not a threat, please don't do this," Flurry pleaded, her voice shaking.

But Cadence remained unmoved. "Flurry, this isn't something you have a choice over. this" I felt a sinking feeling in my chest as the guards took hold of my arms and began to lead me away. I looked back at Flurry, who was crying now, her eyes filled with anger and sadness.

"Cadence, please!" I pleaded, struggling against the guards. "I haven't done anything wrong. I would never hurt her I love Flurry."

But Cadence remained stoic. "all the reason more why you should be locked in the dungeon. I will not let my daughter have a relationship with a creature like you."

As I was being led away by the guards, my heart heavy with sadness and confusion, I couldn't help but think about Flurry and the future we had planned together. I had always known that our love would be met with resistance, but I never imagined that it would end up like this.

As we made our way through the castle, I tried to think of a way out of this situation. But the guards were too strong, and I knew that I wouldn't be able to break free without causing a scene.

Finally, we arrived at the dungeon, and the guards threw me into a cell, slamming the door shut behind me. The room was dark and damp, and the air was thick with the stench of mold and mildew.

I sat down on the cold, hard ground, feeling defeated and alone. I didn't know how long I would be in there, or if I would ever see Flurry again. But eventually, I heard footsteps approaching, and I looked up to see Twilight Sparkle standing outside my cell. I felt a glimmer of hope rise within me at the sight of her, knowing that she was a friend that I could trust

"Twilight, thank goodness you're here," I said, standing up and walking towards the bars of the cell.

"What happened? Why are you in here?" Twilight asked concern etched on her face.

I explained the situation to Twilight, telling her about how Cadence had ordered my arrest and how Flurry was now caught in the middle. Twilight listened carefully, nodding as I spoke.

"I see," she said after a moment. "This is a difficult situation, but I'll see what I can do to help."

Twilight walked away from the cell, her horn glowing with magic as she cast a spell. The lock on the cell door clicked open, and Twilight motioned for me to follow her.

As we walked down the dungeon hallway, I couldn't help but feel grateful for Twilight's help. She had always been a true friend to me, and I knew that I could count on her in times of need.

We finally reached a small room at the end of the hall, and Twilight gestured for me to sit down at a table. "Let me see what I can do to help resolve this situation," she said, taking out a scroll and quill.

For the next hour, Twilight and I worked together to come up with a plan to resolve the situation. After we came up with a plan twilight looked up at me "i don't think this going to work" she said " but I have a plan that can get you out of the dungeon but you may not be able to see Flurry 24/7"

"I'll do whatever it takes to get out of here," I replied, willing to make any sacrifice to be free and see Flurry again.

Twilight nodded as she persuaded me to tell her plan " now this has a much better chance of working, I can ask Cadence to transfer you from here to Canterlot, which will get you out of here. If she accepts, then I will tell Flurry to come over to Canterlot so she can see you without Cadence knowing"

I nodded in agreement, relieved to have a plan that would get me out of the dungeon and closer to Flurry. "That sounds like a good plan," I said. "Thank you so much, Twilight. You're a true friend."

Twilight smiled warmly at me. "Of course, that's what friends are for," she said. "Now, let me go talk to Cadence and see if I can get her to agree to this plan."

Twilight left the room, and I sat there, anxiously waiting for her return. After what felt like an eternity, Twilight finally came back, a look of relief on her face.

"It worked," she said, a smile forming on her face. "Cadence agreed to transfer you to Canterlot, and I've arranged for Flurry to come and see you tomorrow."

I felt tears of relief and happiness welling up in my eyes. as I ran to twilight giving her a hug
Twilight returned the hug, happy to have been able to help. "I'm so glad it worked out," she said. "Now let's get going. We don't want to waste any time."

I nodded in agreement, quickly wiping away my tears as we made our way out of the dungeon and towards the exit of the castle. As we walked, Twilight explained the details of the transfer and what I should expect when I arrived in Canterlot. I nodded in agreement.

Once we got to the train stations, I saw Flurry waiting there for me, and when I saw her. I felt my heart skip a beat as I ran to her, giving her a hug

Flurry hugged me back tightly, and I could feel her trembling in my arms. "I missed you so much, I thought I would never see you again" she whispered, tears streaming down her face.
"I missed you too," I replied, my own tears starting to flow again.

Twilight stood nearby, watching us with a smile on her face. "I'll leave you two alone," she said. "But remember, you can only see each other in secret until we figure out how to resolve this situation with Cadence."

Flurry nodded, still holding onto me tightly. "as long as I can be with you zack, I'm happy" we continue to hug each other feeling happy. Even though the situation was far from perfect, I knew that with the help of Twilight, things would turn out ok.

"ok Zack, it's time to go," Twilight said

Reluctantly, Flurry and I pulled away from each other, and as Twilight led me inside the train. I looked back at Flurry, and she gave me a reassuring smile. "I'll see you soon," she said.

I nodded, feeling both happy and sad at the same time. As the train started to pull from the station, I waved goodbye to Flurry, knowing that I would see her soon.

As the train ride progressed, I started to look down at the floor. We just left, but I already missed her.

Twilight noticed my change in demeanour and sat down next to me. "Hey, don't worry," she said. "You'll see Flurry again soon. And in the meantime. I can show you around Canterlot

I looked up at Twilight "Thank you, Twilight. I appreciate it," I said, managing a small smile.

Twilight smiled back at me. "No problem," she said. "Canterlot is a beautiful city, and there's so much to see and do here. You'll love it."
I tried to get happy just a little, but I couldn’t help but think about Flurry during the entire train ride.
