Chapter VI - The element of hope.

"Really, a portal to the asteroid in which the Little Prince lives!" Sasha exclaimed excitedly. "To be honest, I didn't know that he was still alive."

Twilight and Sasha were talking at the map room of Twilight's castle. The purple mare and I already told Sasha what we were trying to do and why we needed her help. It was obvious to me, even if Twilight didn't have told it to me already, that Sasha has been crying (the wet lines on her face were pretty hard to miss), however, the reason for it was still a mystery for both of us.

"Yeah, he is," Twilight stated. "I think that we should've told it to you before. Anyway, are you sure that you can pull this spell on? It is very complicated magic, even for a..."

"I'm very sure," said Sasha. "I lived even longer than the princesses. Do you seriously think that I don't know complex magic?" she said with a playful voice tone. "However, for some reason that I cannot understand yet, they're even more powerful than the ancient alicorns; maybe it is because they were lab created? Who knows."

I was checking some details on the roll in which me and the princesses wrote the spell. I closed it, and added myself to the discussion in the table. "Well, all done," I said as I reopened the roll and passed it to Sasha with my light-blue aura, "but there's only one way to see if it works, right?"

"Right," said the purple alicorn. "Are you ready, Sasha?"

"Totally."

We headed to a corner of the map room and placed ourselves in position. Twilight's and Sasha's horns started to glow intensely, a magical spark appeared on the crystal wall, and, last but not least, I focused, placed my hands on the magical bright spark and extended them.

A portal to B-612 was opened.

"You can get in first, Twilight," Sasha said.

"Ok," she said as she hopped into the portal.

I was about to go in as well, until Sasha stopped me by saying: "William, wait, can we talk for a bit?"

"Later, Sasha," I replied. "This portal is very unstable, and I don't wanna leave Twilight trapped there. You understand that, right?"

"Yeah, you're probably right," she said with a bit saddened voice. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get in!"

As she said, I got in, and, an instant later, she did as well.

"Sasha!" the Little Prince exclaimed as he saw the green mare. "It's been a while since I saw you. How are you?"

"I'm fine, Little Prince," Sasha replied, "and all thanks to you for rescuing me."

"You're welcome, Sasha."

I let them talk for several minutes; after all, they clearly know for a longer time than me, and really wanted to talk. When there was a bit of silence in the conversation, I decided that it was time to talk about the topic that brought us here.

"So, Little Prince, I'm here to ask you about the element of hope, that shining magical am..."

"Oh, you mean the pendant that I gave you the first time that I met you," the Little Prince stated. "As I told you before, I found it on an asteroid thousands of years ago, but it was kinda weird; it didn't look like any asteroid that I saw before."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Well, it wasn't round; it was more like a cone, also it was silver colored. Oh!, and..."

That sentence immediately triggered my attention.

"Silver colored, what else did it have?"

"Well, some parts of it were made of very transparent, colorless diamonds, and also..."

Twilight had a hard time trying to figure out what was he referring to, but I instantly realized what was he talking about.

A spacecraft.

"Wait, did it have... some kinda door as well?"

"Yeah! But it also had..."

"And did you find it after or before humans were turned into ponies?"

"It was clearly during the conversion because..." then he stopped talking

"Because?" I asked.

"Nothing, I just thought that I was going to be interrupted. The thing is... I found a human inside."

"A human!" we exclaimed in unison, "but how?"

"It's a long story, but resuming it: he was some kind of space explorer named Oscar. An astronaut I think he said. He wanted so badly to return to earth, but, due to some problems down there (maybe the ponification incident), he simply couldn't make it. Fortunately, with my help and some help from earth, he finally got to return. The thing is: during his hopeless moment, in which he thought that he'd never be able to see his family again, I helped him to regain his hope, and that caused an ordinary pendant that he carried with him to be impregnated with a powerful magic."

"And he gave it to you?" I asked.

"Yep, and then I gave it to you."

"And do you have any idea of what magic this pendant contains?" I said as I lifted said pendant from my neck.

"Sorry, but no." he responded.

"Thank you very much for your help, Little Prince. Well, I think it's time for us to leave."

"So soon?" the kid lamented. "But we didn't even play a game!" his face looked so innocent, so pure, so childish... how could I say no to that?

"I guess we can stay for an hour or two, if everypony agrees."

"For me it's fine," Twilight said.

"For me too," said Sasha. "What do you have in mind?" she said to the Little Prince.

We ended up playing hide-and-seek. I thought that it'd be an impossible game to play on an asteroid like B-612 but I didn't take into account that there were other asteroids around to hide in. Time became irrelevant. I guess that we lost two or three hours there. Sadly, eventually we had to go.

"I promise that I'll visit you later. Next time, I hope it won't be to ask you a favor."

"Don't worry, I'm glad to help," he replied.

"Hurry up, William!" said Twilight. "Only you remain to activate the portal."
