//------------------------------// // 1. Operation: Project Fun // Story: Project Fun // by Joshua the Dragonslayer //------------------------------// Being in Ms. Cheerilee was never a fun thing for the Dazzlings but since they didn't have anything better to do with their lives they decided to stay at CHS even after losing their powers to the Rainbooms. It still felt like yesterday when that tragic nightmare happened to them, but there was no time to focus on the past, the girls had to focus on the present. Which was them currently paying attention to Ms. Cheerilee as she spoke on and on about something that the Dazzlings could care less about paying attention to. Sonata and Pinkie were talking to one another in the back of the room about anything and everything they could talk about. Aria was throwing paper balls at the back of Twilight's head and laughed every time she would look around wondering who was doing it. And as for Adagio, she was doing her nails minding her own business. Now although the class wasn't the funniest thing in the world, the Dazzlings had no clue just how horrid class was about to get. "Alright, class." Ms. Cheerilee said, getting the class's attention including the Dazzlings. Ms. Cheerilee smiles noticing that all of her students were paying attention to her. "Today we will be starting a partner project!" The class groaned at the horrible announcement and news they had just been told. Ms. Cheerilee rolled her eyes at the class's response. "Now I know projects aren't the best, but, this project is one you all might like." Ms. Cheerilee then went over to her desk and turned on the class monitor. When the class monitor turned on the words 'Project Fun' appeared causing the class to look at it in confusion. "Class, this project is called Project Fun. The project, just like the name states should be fun and involves fun. You and a classmate will be paired up and show the class a fun activity the two of you have created. The two of you will then present your creation to the rest of the class." The class started looking around at one another smiling about the project. Aria rolled her eyes not having a care in the world about the project, Adagio looked up from doing her nails but quickly went back to doing them, also not caring about the project. And as for Sonata and Pinkie, they were smiling at one another hoping they would be paired up together but they had a strong feeling that they were going to be working together. "Now for who you will be working together with..." Ms. Cheerilee pulled out a piece of paper and then began reading the list of pairs. "First pair is Sonata Dusk and Pinkie Pie." Pinkie and Sonata looked at each other and smiled, the two high-fived as they couldn't wait to work with one another. "This is going to be so much fun! I wonder what we should do?" Sonata then began to think, but she then quickly came up with a "bright" idea. "We should climb up Mount Everest and eat tacos at the very top while sitting on our heads!" Looking over at Pinkie she saw Pinkie shake her head. Bouncing from her seat Pinkie then smiled as a lightbulb appeared above her head. "I have an even better idea! We should make the world's biggest chocolate volcano!" Sonata looked at Pinkie and nodded vigorously, smiling at her idea. Ms. Cheerilee looked at the two girls and sighed already taking back her idea of pairing the two up. 'I don't get paid enough for this. Why did I choose them to work together again?' As if being able to hear her thoughts Pinkie spoke up. "Because the author wanted us to be paired up!" Everyone looked at Pinkie confused but shook it off as if it was Pinkie Pie just being herself like always. Ms. Cheerilee sweatdropped but recovered as she got back to reading the list. Not wanting the two girls to affect her mood, especially Pinkie, Ms. Cheerilee looked back at the class with a forced smile as she then read the next pair. "Next two partners are Rarity and Adagio Dazzle." Once again Ms. Cheerilee cringed as she said the two names as she both knew Rarity and Adagio both could have their "moments". Adagio looked up from doing her nails and sighed. "Oh, how fun, I'm with the drama queen of the bunch." Adagio wasn't very fond of Rarity or any of the Rainboom girls, but she wasn't going to throw a hissy fit about it. Not wasting any more of her time Adagio went right back to doing her nails. Rarity on the other hand looked at Adagio from across the room and groaned. "Oh, how marvelous, I'm with her of all people." Being paired up with the leader of the Dazzlings was not something Rarity was looking forward to. "I simply shall not fail this project because of her. She better pull her weight in the project, a lady cannot simply work on a project alone without help." Rarity crossed her arms and huffed. Applejack who was sitting next to her gave a small smile as she patted Rarity on the back to hopefully make her feel better. Ms. Cheerilee then looked at the next pair and frowned. She felt bad that she paired the two of them up, but if there was anyone who might be able to work with Aria, it was her. "Next is Aria Blaze and Fluttershy." Ms. Cheerilee looked over at Fluttershy and already felt bad, the poor girl was already shaking in her seat, most likely because of who she was paired with. Fluttershy looked over at Aria who was staring back at her and gulped, she silently slid down her chair to hide as she covered her face with her hair. "Oh, I do hope things go well. I would hate to get on her bad side." Fluttershy whispered before she then looked back up to see Aria still looking at her with that glare of hers. Not wanting to be rude Fluttershy pulled the courage to give a small smile and give a small shaky wave. Aria sighed and turned back around not wanting to look at Fluttershy anymore. She then rolled her eyes now figuring out the situation she was in. "Great, I'm with the animal lover who doesn't even know how to speak, much less say a sentence." Aria then looked over at Fluttershy who was still hiding from Aria. Aria turned to look back at the board which still had Project Fun on it. "Ugh, so much for this project being "fun". This is the worst, why couldn't we of left this retched school." Aria looked up at the ceiling silently praying for a way to get out of this project, much less the school and city as a whole. Not wanting to hear the rest of the pairs the Dazzlings went back to doing their own thing. A few minutes later with everyone getting paired up with their partners, some happy with who they got and some not so much, class was finally over. The bell rang signaling the end of class, as kids started to get up Ms. Cheerilee made one last speech. "This project is to be turned in by next week. If you have any questions just come to me, now I hope you all have a good rest of your day." Kids began leaving her class talking to one another about the project they had been given. Some kids however weren't so talkative about the project, whether it was because of the project or because of who their partner was, it was anyone's guess. Once everyone left the classroom, Adagio and Aria then both walked up to Ms. Cheerilee hoping to request a switch from her. Ms. Cheerilee saw the two girls coming and sighed as she had already guessed this was going to happen. When the two reached her desk, Adagio spoke up. "Ms. Cheerilee, I-" Not looking up from her laptop Ms. Cheerilee spoke up cutting off Adagio. "No, Adagio. You cannot switch partners, you must work together with Rarity on this project. If you would like, however, I can gladly give you the F already." Adagio growled at this but kept her temper down. "Fine." And just like that Adagio left the room leaving Ms. Cheerilee alone with Aria. Ms. Cheerilee then turned and looked at Aria to see what she wanted, although she had a guess at what she was going to ask. Aria crossed her arms as she blankly stared at Ms. Cheerilee. "I have the same question but I'm guessing it's the same answer for me as well?" Ms. Cheerilee smiled at her. "You're pretty smart when you actually want to be. So, what will it be for you? Do the project or take the F?" Aria smiled back at Ms. Cheerilee. "You know, out of all the teachers who work here, you're not that bad." Aria then walked out of the classroom with a smile of respect on her face. When she opened the door to go she saw Sonata and Adagio waiting for her. "Welp, there's no getting out of this one." Sonata then jumped up. "C'mon, guys! It won't be that bad, this project is called Project Fun because it's meant to be fun! So let's just have some fun and do this project!" Adagio and Aria looked at their sister and rolled their eyes. Adagio then looked down at her sister. "Unlike us, Sonata, you had someone you can actually get along with. I, unfortunately, have to deal with Ms. Drama Queen. And Aria has to work with Fluttershy, which isn't near as bad but could still be better." Aria shrugged her shoulders. "As long as she stays quiet and whatnot we can do whatever she wants to do." Sonata smiled and pulled her two sisters in for a group hug. "See, things won't be that bad. Let's just get the project over with, and then we can all go back to being classmates." Adagio groaned and rubbed her forehead. "Ugh, whatever. Let's just go home and stop thinking about this project." As the three girls started to walk out of the school Adagio had seen the Rainbooms talking to one another and having fun nearby. "This is a one-time thing that we work with them. Don't forget what they did to us and our powers, they are our mortal enemy. Once this project is over we'll go right back to being enemies." Her sisters nodded at what she said and continued to make their way home. Adagio looked at the Rainbooms one last time with a furious glare. 'I'll never forgive you for what you did to us, one day we will have our revenge! I'll make sure of it!'
