// Story: The Story of a New Rising Alicorn

There was another bright sun being raised by Celestia that morning. And Moonlight Glare, an indigo male Unicorn whose Cutie Mark was a blue star with a flash of pink lightning behind it, that had a pink mane with an undercut on and green eyes. 
He was reading one of his favorite books the Journal of Friendship while lying on his bedroom floor. Moonlight looked out his window and got shocked because he was reading that book all night. I should stop reading for a while and eat 
Seeing that, he quickly stood up and started to walk to his door. He opened the door with his left hoof and went downstairs. On the first floor, his brother, a dark-blue Unicorn, with a dark-purple mane, bright green eyes that stood out from his dark appearance, and a scar on his right eye that he received when he was a colt, after a fight. He was baking cookies using an old recipe book, that he found in their basement. It was from probably their grandmothers. He walked right to his brother and looked at the oven.

"Good morning, bro!", Moonlight's brother, Thunder Blaze said as he looked in Moonlight's direction while levitating the recipe book.

"Good morning, too, Thunder Blaze," Moonlight said to his brother. Thunder Blaze kept baking while reading the recipe book, he seemed very happy about doing cookies, but a little bit confused by the instructions that he decided not to follow to the letter, something he would regret soon.

"What kind of cookies are you baking? I thought that on Mondays you'd like to make pancakes" Moonlight said as he sat down on a chair, with a confused expression and upset, since he was thirsty for pancakes. Thunder looked at him, nodded, and kept cooking.

"I'm trying something different this time, am I committing a crime or something?" Thunder said ironically as he kept cooking, Moonlight took a deep breath and simply rolled his eyes, Thunder changed the subject, "I mean, I'm baking pumpkin cookies, which means that the food is not that good. We need a joke at this moment."

"Pumpkin, seriously?"

"Yup"

This made Moonlight more upset since he didn't like pumpkins. Thunder continued to bake as the first batch finally got ready. Thunder opened the oven using his magic. He had a light-pink aura and took out the cookies that looked way too big for cookies, nearly like instead of taking out a first cookie batch, he took a pie instead, the mlatterreason for this was that Thunder Blaze put way too much baking powder on the dough. He placed the new batch after seeing the cookies.

"I don't think these are cookies anymore" Moonlight glanced at the plate which had the cookies and said. Thunder nodded and started to laugh, "What are you laughing at?"

"You know that dumb book you read all the time?"

"The Journal of Friendship?"

"Yes. One of Pinkie Pie's lessons was 'If you didn't get right in the first time, laugh it off,' so I applied it."

"No way you read a book! I thought this was impossible" Moonlight was vastly surprised. He knew brother well enough to know that he would never read a book on his own unless it was to impress a mare as he did months ago with his now-on, girlfriend, so it was most probable to have been an accident.

"Did you read the book by accident, right?" Thunder blinked twice in surprise and nodded

Suddenly smoke started to go out of the oven, the cookies were burning, and Moonlight noticed it.

"Hey, watch out!" Moonlight shouted making Thunder quickly turn to see his back and saw the smoke coming out of the oven. The smoke grew a lot faster than they ever expected, and it was starting to hind their vision.

"Goddam it!" Thunder Blaze shouted, gasped, and opened the oven, more smoke started to show out and he saw that the cookies were burnt.

"I should go to work" Moonlight affirmed. He Ignored his hunger and stood up. He knew his brother would be well without him, he was tough and strong, unlike Moonlight.

Thunder nodded as he took out the new batch of burnt cookies and Thunder watched Moonlight as he walked past the kitchen, and went to the door. As he walked outside he saw that the smoke was spreading through the streets and creating a huge black cloud up in the sky.

"Bye, don't wait for me for dinner. I am going to a party later", Thunder Blaze shouted with a smile. Moonlight walked out to the city's library, also Canterlot food. The Bookstaurant, where he worked as a cashier while his best friend, Honey Delight, and frenemy, Sundown Beam, respectively, worked in the same building, as another cashier, and as a dishwasher in the restaurant part on the upper floor.

Moonlight started to walk in, but another Unicorn with a red coat, whose cutie mark was a burning star, had a yellow mane with some light green streaks, and orange eyes. Sundown Beam bumped on purpose into him, and this made Moonlight very angry, but he kept chill because he didn't want to go into trouble, he was always in trouble because of Sundown.

"Sorry, I'm not sorry!" Sundown Beam said to Moonlight Glare, that rolls his eyes and walked in.

Moonlight sighted, partly in relief for Subdown had walked away and partly for anger.  Why does he keeps annoying me 24/7? Why can't he just act normal as a grown up teenager? 

"Even a colt is more mature than you," Moonlight shouted as he looked in Sundown's direction with an angry expression, Sundown saw this as the perfect opportunity to make him the angriest as possible.

Then he went to the dressing room that only had his job's shirts, which consisted of a white shirt with black text on the chest and the logo of the Bookstaurant, which was black eyeglasses with a feather and a fork on the behind of it he levitated with a mint-green aura and wore it. Afterward, Sundown went to put on his uniform either. And he did it. Then went to the checkout table.

Moonlight was working with Sundown, trying to be the most professional he could as he kept being bothered, this was deeply annoying.  He was in time to throw a laser at Sundown, but Honey appeared as a heaven's sign to work too, later on, and she went there to say hi to her friends. Honey was a light-green Pegasus. Whose Cutie Mark was a spoon which, instead of round edges, was a fire shape. And honey-yellow straight mane, and brown eyes.

"Honey!" Moonlight and Sundow both shouted simultaneously, Sundow looked into Moonlight's eyes with a side smile.

"I said it first!" Sundown affirmed in a try to make Moonlight angry, which worked extremely well.

"No, I said it first!" Moonlight began to discuss but as always Honey intervened.

"Boys, try not to fight today, please," Honey urged as she walked in, she knew that they would just ignore her suggestion, but she urged them anyways.

"I am trying not to 'Beam' him," Moonlight joked with a quite angry face and a fake smile.

"Haha, how funny, right?" Sundown ironically said while looking seriously into Moonlight's eyes.

"I'm going upstairs, please, do not fight each other. Because I have more things to do than take care of you," Honey said

"I swear, I will try not to kill him at least until the end of the day," Moonlight said and laughed, making Honey a lot more comfortable with leaving them alone down the floor.

Honey gave him a broad smile and flew upstairs, while Moonlight kept being bothered by Sundown, some hours passed, and there were no customers for a while. Moonlight, after all the fighting and discussing. Moonlight had a deep breath, walked away slowly, sat on a red chair, took one of the Journal of Friendship copies, and continued reading the book, keeping from the page he's stopped while he was at his home.
Sundown Beam looked a little bit annoyed since Moonlight was not overreacting at any time so he could stand by as the victim of the situation, that was when he saw Moonlight reading the book, and he thought that this was another opportunity to mess up Moonlight, which was in total peace. he levitated Moonlight's book, with an orange aura to himself, and started to run all over the place so that Moonlight couldn't catch his book back.

"Give me that book back," Moonlight shouted, but Sundown ignored it and kept running around the place like was in a race. Moonlight considered running around the place with him, but this wouldn't be effort worthy since Sundown was way faster and stronger. Moonlight was starting to get angrier and angrier, with every step he took, every little inch of that annoying smile. He decided to do the most off-character action he could think of, he threw a laser ray at him, but he missed and hit the window, which made a significantly loud sound that scared some neighbors. Honey, that was cleaning a plate heard the sound and ended up dropping the plate on the floor, and most of her coworkers asked her to see what happened. She flew downstairs as quickly as she could in panic when she saw Moonlight with a hard angry face and Sundown pretending to be scared. 

"What part of 'do not fight each other' didn't you both understand?" Honey shouted angry and slightly scared.

"I am so, so sorry," Moonlight said in a heavily sad voice as his face started to show that he was very scared and sad, he looked in his front as he saw what might be the manager going there, and his eyes started to tear up.

"He attacked me for no reason!" Sundown lied, and the manager appeared to check what happened. He got shocked and mad as he saw the broken window. He was an old earth pony that used round black eyeglasses with a light red coat and a long gray mane whose Cutie Mark was an eyeglass with a feather and a fork behind it.

"Hey! You three troublemakers!" The manager shouted as he was trying to identify what was going on, his vision was pretty bad and his eyeglasses were barely working anymore, his very blurry vision was starting to become neat as close he got when he was some inches close he could finally see them three standing there looking at the broken window. "What are you doing?"

"I- i- it is all my fault, Mr. Whispertweet," Moonlight assumed as he walked in the manager's direction with his head looking to his side's floor trying to avoid eye contact.

"You three did it?" Mr. Whispertweet asked

"No, only me" Moonlight answered, still avoiding eye contact.

"Oh okay, it's fine to me, you three are fired!" Mr. Whispertweet shouted even more angrily.

"Wait, wait, no!" Honey said intensely sadder.

"Get out!" The manager shouted, and they all went out with sad faces.

"Are you happy now?" Honey said, looking furious. Sundown knew that he was doomed, and he couldn't just tell the truth now, it was too late, and the consequences would be tragic for him now, but he needed to do it! This wasn't right! Lying wasn't from his nature.

"I kept annoying him, that's why he shot me," Sundown assumed as he pointed out to Moonlight, which was with his eyes tearing up a lot more.

"It doesn't matter who shot who!" Honey shouted angrily, as one tear fell down her face.

"Hey guys, let's go to our homes and sleep. We can search for new jobs tomorrow," Moonlight said. With a sad voice, his eyes were tearing up even more, he was willing to break down in tears, just in a matter of seconds.

"Hey, Honey, are you okay with me sleeping in your house? Just in case my parents exile me from home," Sundown asked.

"Okay, I would never hesitate to help a friend in need," Honey agreed, she was still mad, but she couldn't just leave him alone in a fragile moment like this.

They all went to their houses sad. The first to get home was Sundown. When he entered his home, his father was already home and was reading a newspaper sitting on the table, and his mother was baking a cake.

"Hey, mom and dad!" Sundown exclaimed as he entered.

"Hi, Sunny!" His mom answered. She was a red Unicorn with a light-green mane, gray streaks, and yellow eyes whose Cutie Mark was a cake with pink meringue. Her name was Mary Meringue.

"Why are you here that early?" His father asked. He was a dark red Unicorn. With a red and black mane and red eyes, whose Cutie Mark was a burning house, his name was Firebreak.

"Dad, I… I…" Sundown said nervously.

"Dad?!" Firebreak shouted.

"Firey… please, try to stay calm," Mary said, attempting to make him calmer.

"Mr. Firebreak… I was fired!" Sundown shouted.

"You what?!" Firebreak shouted, "You were incapable of doing something as simple as being a cashier! How can someone like you be my son?"

"I was attacked, and then…" Sundown said.

"Is that an excuse?" Firebreak asked with an angry voice. Sundown was mad, he was angry, and this was the last straw for Sundown, who couldn't handle any more of this literal abuse.

"You know what? This is why Sunset left us. This is why no one likes you, that is why my mom cheats on you, this is why I am going out of this freaking house!" Sundown shouted, "Because you are a bad father."

"This is not the right way to talk to me, boy," Firebreak said, very mad.

"I HATE YOU!" Sundown shouted at the top of his lungs. He was furious, he could feel the anger burning from his being through his skin.

Sundown channeled this anger and just teleported himself to his room. This was the first time he did a teleportation spell correctly, which was terrific, but he had no time. His room was filled with a lot of books and had a huge amount of pictures and undone spells. He opened the first drawer and took one of his bags, he took it with his magic, which had a yellow aura, and took his clothes from a closet, put everything in a bag, then took some of his favorite books that were in a  wooden desk.
This desk, however, had an old family picture with him, his mother, his father, and his sister. This made him stop the rush and glance at the picture. This broke him up in tears, his sister was now in Canterlot living as a busy princess, his mom was the only person with him now, and even she could never understand what he was going through, and his father was… his father. 
The only thing he could think about now was how he was broken inside, he just wanted to be loved by somepony, he stood there and started crying, and his lonely tears suddenly became a waterfall coming out of his eyes. he barely could see, he closed his eyes and stood there lying on his floor, alone. He recognized that he wasn't alone, he had his best friend, Honey, and even Moonlight if he deeply thought about it, the ponies who were with him the most, the ponies that would ever stand up for him.
Then he took the photo as a last record, jumped out of his window and started to run fast, he could feel his tears as through his face and fly away, and he finally got into Honey's house he couldn't handle it anymore and broke up into tears again. Honey on the other hand was already waiting for him and when she saw him, she ran into him and hugged him as strongest as she could hold somepony.

"Sundown?" She asked, quite confused and with a heart full of emotion, she was almost crying with him

Sundown hugged Honey as hardest he could and started to cry even harder.

"What happened?" Honey asked, even more confused.

"You, Honey, you are the only person who won't let me stay alone forever," Sundow said, crying much more than he ever did in his entire life, Honey was now feeling good, fine for the reason that she had such amazing friends, but this wasn't good at all, because she had a secret and this might ruin everything and everyone around her.

Moonlight was reading a book called: Fun facts about the creatures outside of Equestria.

Wow, I never knew that Zebras could be Unicorns, Pegasus, or even Alicorns. I thought only ponies could

Moonlight stood up and walked to his bookshelves to store his book again, but when he placed it on the shelf, one of his old notes, this was from when he was younger, and his dream was to be an Alicorn.

I've always wanted to be an Alicorn as a colt! This made him think a lot about it for a moment, the Alicorns, the godlike rulers of Equestria, those to whom he and the other ponies were devoted, the Alicorns were much more robust, much more powerful, and much more important. He wanted to feel part of something like it. Resulting of this note, he decided to make a spell that would turn him into an Alicorn.

Moonlight walked downstairs and then went down to the basement. Turned on the lights and searched for his spells scroll. He made this scroll a long time ago, it was quite bigger than normal scrolls, he wasn't sure of how bigger it was, but, it was long enough so he could write spells on it for five years now, some of his old scraps were scrapped trash, it wasn't useful in any way for him at this point, but other spells would help him, regardless, none of those were spells to turn ponies into Alicorns, but some of them were wing related, this was all he needed, at least he thought it was.

He went to a desk where he kept it, opened it using his magic, and took out a scroll and a feather. He starts to write down all the kinds of transfiguration spells and spells related to wings. His first spell was a Spell to change cups into plates, so he discarded them because he was not a cup or even a plate, then he decided to unite a butterfly wings spell with a spell to turn butterflies into cockatrices. So, he cast it with difficulty, this hardship to cast the spell gave him some hope of the spell to work. But the spell only gave him butterfly wings with feathers for a few seconds and then exploded, it was painful, but only for a few seconds. This worried him because he felt like a part of his body exploded, he had a moment of concern, but if he wanted to go through this he needed to go deeper as far as he goes.

 I should try to be more cautious or the next one to explode will be me. 

He sat. And after resting a little bit, he stood up because he needed to go far through this. The next was a spell to make a pegasi wing bigger for a day. He cast, but it did not work on him because he did not have wings. After a few seconds, he decided to try a mix of all those three spells. He had a huge difficulty casting, but he did it and received alicorn wings that also exploded, but this time the pain lasted a bit more.

 What if I am understanding everything wrong? What if the Alicorns aren't just Unicorns with wings? What if they are meant to be the three tribes at once? They can have the Unicorn horn, but it might make the earth pony's strong hooves bigger and stronger, which makes the Pegasi wings more aerodynamic and also bigger which makes the Unicorn horn powerful and more prominent as well, there is some sort of loop with the three tribes' magics! 

Moonlight starts to write a new spell, this time combining a spell to make hooves stronger, a spell to make a horn bigger, and a spell to grow the pegasi wings. He started casting it, but it was too hard for him. He tried again, but it was still hard, he was almost becoming red while trying to cast the spell. He wasn't feeling well anymore, the air was getting out of his body, but not in, he felt like he was in time to faint, but he cast it. This time nothing happened until a few seconds later when magic mint-green lights started to surround him, at an increasing speed. And they exploded in a magic aura that grew quickly until he lost sight of it. He could not believe his eyes. So many lights and magic surrounding him, this was amazing, this was new, this was magic. 
He tried was so amazed by this magic that he could fly, he realized that he actually could fly, so he tried it, he started flapping his wings and then jumped, he felt his hooves slowly getting out of the floor, and he felt the wind resistance increase slowly he was floating, he never felt that light, he was touching the air instead of the floor, this was the best sensation he ever felt in a long time, this was so amazing. He tried to move his body to the front, but he did not know how to fly yet, so he dumped the wall and fell, and now the good feeling turned into pain.  

"It worked! It worked!" Moonlight said, as he kept running in circles, he was so happy that he even flew for a moment again, but quickly got to the floor again so he wouldn't fall like before.

Moonlight started to think for a moment and realized that he was probably doing something illegal since the only beings allowed to be Alicorns were the princesses, so he decided to undo the spell. He started to do a removal spell, but it didn't work, then he combined both spells, and he couldn't even cast it. He felt like his life was ruined and there was nothing to do now, he was doomed, doomed for death.

"It's probably just temporary since both spells are," Moonlight affirmed. He stayed there for a while, trying to be the most optimistic that he could, but no matter how he thought everything would end up fine, he knew that there wasn't a good ending for him, not anymore. He felt that he should go and talk to his friend about the news, so stood with his head up and went upstairs, opened his door, and started to walk to Honey's house, for each time one of his hooves touched the cold stone floor he felt more and more guilty, his heart was filling up with sadness as closest he got to her house, he was almost there. He already recognized Mr. Whispertweet's house, meaning that he was only a block away from her house. He kept walking and walking until he finally got in there where Honey was hugging Sundown. He didn't even think and jumped to them joining their hug, now feeling like they were the most capable people to help him undo the spell and don't get executed for his crimes.

"Oh, hi Moonlight!" Sundown exclaimed in tears, he was feeling very sorry and regretful, he knew that all this time while he was bugging Moonlight it was wrong, but he only did it, even being hard to admit, he only did it because he was in love, such love that would probably never be corresponded. Only the idea of dating somepony like him seemed impossible but was what he wanted, what he needed.

"Hi…? I guess," Moonlight was extremely confused about Sundown being nice to him, this was the first time in years.

"I… I… just wanted to say, I'm sorry for being incredibly annoying and inexcusably bad to you," Sundown said as he wiped his tears and their hug slowly ended, "I just hope that you can forgive someday."

"I'm not the kind of person that doesn't like forgiving others," He answered and they were now fully separated. Moonlight 
motioned to the left as Honey walked a little bit away slowly.

"Wow!" Honey exclaimed in shock and surprise.

"There is one more thing I need to say," Moonlight walked away slowly, they didn't see very well since it was already dark, "I am an Alicorn now!" Moonlight opened his wings and changed his pose, standing in two hooves with the front ones up and his head looking to the left side.

"Oh… my… Celestia!" Both Honey and Sundown simultaneously said

"And I don't know how to revert this! None of the spells I've tried work, I just don't know what to do!" Moonlight said desperately.

"What? How? When? Why? I have so many questions!" Honey said confused.

"I can explain it further later, but now you need to help me!" Moonlight looked desperate, his eyes were concerned.

"How can we help you? At least I don't know how to cast an Alicornation spell," Honey said

"I need you to help me hide these wings and help search in the library," Moonlight answered and they both nodded

Moonlight waved his head for them to follow him and they did it. They walked right to their old job, talking to each other and answering questions along the way, and luckily for them, he still got the keys, which opened the front door. They broke up into the library making as much silent as they could since what they were doing was probably illegal, and they didn't want to be arrested. Honey was very concerned about doing this, but she couldn't just walk away in a moment like this.

"The plan is, Honey search in the Equestrian History category, Sundown search in the Advanced Spells category and I am searching in the Spells Removal category," Moonlight explained

"Anything for you, Lighty" Honey said

"You don't call me that since we were foals," Moonlight said

"Let's go searching," Sundown said

They walked to their categories and started to search for anything that could be Alicorn related.



They were searching for some hours and didn't find anything that could help them, Honey was sleeping in an open book called 'The Start of Royalty I'. She was having a Nightmare about killing every one of her friends in evil form. She was with her eyes fully black, her hair had red stripes, and she was sitting on a bone throne, but Twilight and her friend saved the day. She woke up scared and kept reading the book.  C'mon, Honey, there are still fourteen books to read. While she was reading the book, she saw something. It was a mention of a land called Zebrica saying that this and other lands must've been a way to create Alicorns, just like in Equestria.
She ran as quickly as she could, dropping several books along the way.

"Guys! I found something!" Honey shouted

"What is it?" Moonlight asked 

"It says that it should be a way to turn creatures into alicorns outside Equestria, since it was found Alicorns outside Equestria," Honey answered

"So, why won't we travel outside Equestria?" Moonlight asked, ignoring all his concerns.

"We should do this!" Sundown exclaimed.

"Yeah, but…" Honey said.

"But what?" Sundown asked, "We don't have family, at least me and you, we can handle ourselves alone and we don't have jobs either"

"…Actually, yes. You are right. If I'd use some of my savings that I would spend paying the next 3 years' rent I can even buy a wagon for us," Honey said making Moonlight less concerned,

"We should go to our homes, pack our things, and hit the road!" Sundown said. Moonlight and Honey nodded.

Moonlight walked to his home, he was the first to get in home and the first thing he did was take a scroll and a feather so he could write a letter to his brother when he gets home. 
"Dear Thunder Blaze, I know it will be kinda hard for you, but I have to go. I was given a very important mission, which means that I will be out for a very long time, if anything goes wrong and I don't come back, just be sure that I love you. Goodbye, Moonlight Glare"
Moonlight went to his room and levitated his things to his bag. He pulled out some of his favorite books, including the Journal of Friendship, then he took his scrolls and feathers, and last he took a picture he had of his family.

Sundown went to Honey's house, since he didn't unpack his things he only helped Honey to pack hers, they took her recipe books, portable oven, kitchen supplies, and a lot of food.

"Hey, Sundown, can you pack up my purple bottled potion stock?" Honey asked

"Why do you need these?" Sundown asked

"Nothing, just pack it," Honey said

Sundown packed all the stock, it had more than two hundred potions, they were all on a couple of shelves, but he packed it all in a specific bag.

"All done," Sundown said

They went outside, where Moonlight was waiting for them, they all started to talk as they walked to the wagon's store nearby. They finally got in there. The place was a huge store with a session for buying and a session to store the wagons, there were all types of wagons, divided by color, size, and furniture. The store had a seller, which was a yellow stallion with a blue mane and cyan eyes, whose cutie mark was a heart with a feather in the middle he had a bored face, but when he looked at them, instantly changed his facial expression and gave a huge smile, which made them more comfortable and made Honey instantly fall in love with him.

"he is kinda cute, right?" Honey asked with a lovesick face.

He started to walk on their way slowly keeping the smile, and looking at Honey. As he saw her face he instantly fell in love too, she was the most beautiful pony he ever saw.

"Hi, my name is Feather Mane. What are you looking for?" Feather said

"You," Honey whispered, but loud enough for Feather to hear, making him blush.

"We want to buy a big wagon that comes with a kitchen and a bathroom," Moonlight said

"We have the exact thing you want," Feather answered very nervously pointing at a large wooden wagon, which had light blue paint.

"Good, how much is it?" Moonlight asked, his eyes amazed at how gorgeous that wagon was.

"500 bits, 505 if you want us to paint your Cutie Mark in it," Feather answered

"Okay, we can pay this," Moonlight said as he gave him 555 bits, "And some tips also"

"Thanks, now you can wait and then leave with your wagon," Feather said

They stayed there a little so they could paint the wagon with their Cutie Marks

"Hey, what's your name, cutie?"

"Ho- ho- Honey!"

Both Sundown and Moonlight looked at her, they were slightly confused, but quickly understood that she probably liked him, so they just walked away to see the painting. It was already ready, It had Moonlight's cutie mark on the center, Sundown's Cutie Mark on the right top, and Honey's Cutie Mark on the left bottom.

"You should check your mail often, you may or may not receive a letter from a not-so-secret admirer"

"You too"

Honey blushed and Feather too, but when they were on the way to kiss.

"Hey, Honey, let's go!" Moonlight shouted scaring them, Feather just waved his head and Honey took a glance at her friends. Honey ran to their wagon and entered it. They started to organize their things on the wagon, Sundown put his things in his room, and Honey put her cooking supplies in the kitchen. While she was hiding her purple bottled potion, Moonlight saw it, this confused him since he never knew that she had these, or even why she didn't tell them about this, Honey put the potions in a cabinet with a locker, which she locked use a key that she hid in a bag.

"Hey, Honey!"

"Oh, hey, Moonlight!"

"What was that for?" Moonlight asked, leaving Honey a little bit nervous, but she pretended to be calm, which didn't trick him much, because he could smell her fear and see her sweat.

"No- Nothing"

"Ok…"

Sundown suddenly walked in with a huge smile
