Fluttershy enjoyed her times when Discord came over to her cottage for their tea party. Sometimes he would spend the night at her cottage. Fluttershy had a room made for him whenever he wanted to stay over.
The night had already arrived when Fluttershy and Discord got ready for bed. Discord went to the guest room while Fluttershy went to her bed.
Once she got into bed, Fluttershy got under the sheets and closed her eyes. As she slept, Fluttershy dreamed of playing with all her animal friends in a meadow as they were having a picnic. It seemed as if nothing would ruin this wonderful time she was enjoying. Suddenly, the clear sky began to darken with dark clouds as thunder and lightning was heard. The pegasus and her animal friends were surprised about this sudden change when all of a sudden it began to rain.
Feeling the rain fall down on her, Fluttershy hears a cracking noise. She looks for around, trying to find where the sound was coming from before she finally looks down. The part of ground she was standing on was starting to crack around her when the ground she was standing on began to break apart. Before she could do anything, Fluttershy found herself falling into the river with a splash.
She quickly resurfaces above the water, gasping for air. Her animals friends reach out to her, trying to pull her out of the water as she tried to reach for them as well. However, the pegasus found herself being pushed farther and farther away from the animals. Fluttershy attempts to swim for shore, but the waves were too strong and were pushing her even far away.
Just then, a loud and roaring noise was heard from right behind her. Turning her head, Fluttershy saw that she was heading straight for a waterfall. She immediately tried to swim away, but no matter how hard she tried, Fluttershy found herself near the edge of the waterfall. Before she knew it, the pegasus found herself falling down the waterfall as she screamed in absolute horror.
Fluttershy woke up from her dream as she screamed. Just then, Discord appeared right next to her bed.
"Fluttershy, are you okay? I heard you screaming and I wanted to make sure you were okay."
Calming down, the pegasus sighed. "I'm sorry. It was just a bad dream I just had."
Discord looked at her. "Do you want to tell me what happened?"
Fluttershy looked at the draconequus before she nodded her head. She told Discord about the dream she just had: from the sudden change in the weather, falling into the river, and finding herself falling down the waterfall.
When she finished telling Discord about her dream, Fluttershy says, "It was so scary. I couldn't do anything to stop it. I...I..."
When she couldn't hold it in anymore, she began to cry. As she did, tears ran down her cheeks and some of them plop onto her bedsheets.
As he looked at the pegasus as she continued weeping, Discord couldn't help but feel sorry for her. From what she had told him, Fluttershy must have been terrified from this bad dream she just had and he wanted to do something to help calm her down before he finally got an idea. Reaching out to the weeping pegasus, Discord picked her up and held her close to him.
Finding herself in Discord's arms, Fluttershy stopped crying and looked at the draconequus as he held her close to him. Confused at what he was doing, Fluttershy felt his paw and claw wrap around her as he held her ever so gently. As he continued to hold her, Fluttershy found herself no longer feeling scared or thinking about that nightmare. Instead, she felt safe and secure in Discord's arms.
Seeing that Fluttershy had finally calmed down, Discord smiled. "There. Feel better now?"
Fluttershy looked at the draconequus as she smiled and nodded her head. "Yes."
"Then I guess you can sleep peacefully now and I'll go back to sleep too."
He prepared to place Fluttershy back in her bed so she could sleep, but Fluttershy stops him.
"Wait!" she said. Discord looks at her in confusion as her cheeks turn red as she continued. "It was really sweet how you helped me feel better when I was scared. But it would really make me happy if I sleep with you tonight so I won't get anymore nightmares. Please?"
As she looked at him with pleading eyes, Discord saw how much Fluttershy wanted him to be right beside her. He couldn't say no to this and there was no telling if she had anymore nightmares is he wasn't beside her.
"Very well then," he said with a smile. "We can sleep together."
Snapping his fingers, he expands Fluttershy's bed big enough for the two of them to sleep. He places her on the bed and sits down beside her. Fluttershy lays down beside him and nuzzles against his fur, feeling the warmth of it against her.
As she snuggled against him, Discord gently lifted his paw towards her head and stroke his fingers against her mane.
Finally, Fluttershy yawned as she was starting to feel sleepy. "Good night," she said, laying her head against Discord's chest and closing her eyes.
"Sleep tight," Discord said, making sure she was sleeping comfortably. As she continued sleeping, Discord looks at her as the pegasus smiled in her sleep before he smiled. He could tell that Fluttershy was dreaming about peaceful dreams.
Finally, he curled his body around her, his tail slowly laid down beside the pegasus and gently wrapped his paw around her as he brought her close to him before he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Both the pegasus and the draconequus continued to sleep as they enjoyed each other's warmth and company, not having to worry about any nightmares that can happen. All that mattered was the company of each other as they slept.
