The Derpy Analysis (Ditzy Do) - By Andrew Esquivel

Gender - Female

Occupation - Mail Mare

Cutie mark picture - Bubbles

Cutie Mark Origin - From a very young age it was clear that Ditzy Do Would become a Mail Mare. Her Desire to travel to places she had never been before was always a fascination with her. However, due to her clumsy nature, many of the packages that she was in charge of arrived to their destination damaged or broken, causing her employment at the Equestia Mail Delivery Service to be jeopardized. In order to keep her job she had to come up with a way to make sure her packages did not get damaged in transit. This issue eventually led Derpy to her greatest achievement - the invention of Bubble Wrap. In short time her invention revolutionized the package delivery industry, and ultimately lead to the reason why she has bubbles on her flank.

Why Derpy loves muffins - When Derpy was just a young filly, she was always one way or another involved with her mothers activities. A common activity for her and her mother involved singing as they worked. Often times, her mother would sing a nursery rhyme called "The muffin mare" (sung in the same way the song we know as "The muffin man"). Lyrics are as shown,

"Do you know the muffin mare, the muffin Mare, the Muffin mare? Do you know the muffin mare, her name is Ditzy Do"

Growing up as a child, this became Derpys favorite song. Now a grown mare, she bakes muffins often to remember her childhood. Now, she now passes on this song and her muffins to her own child - Dinky Do.

Why Derpys eyes are messed up - Derpy was born was a rare, but benign medical condition causing her eyes to lose perspective position of each other. Her eyes are not always 'Derped', but whenever she feels an overwhelming force of any particular emotion (be it good or bad, happy or sad) she loses control of the direction her eyes look toward of either 1 or both eyes. A key thing to note is that this is a physical disability, not a mental disability. Often times this problem gets associated with her clumsy and forgetful nature, but in reality both are separate issues.
