//------------------------------// // Chapter Nine // Story: Falling For The Night // by Drunk Luna //------------------------------// Luna stood in front of her full-length mirror, examining her white silk ball gown and royal-length veil edged with lace roses and moon flowers. Her mane was done in a half-up, half-down style with loose curls that fell elegantly around her shoulders, and her veil was held in place by her diamond-encrusted platinum tiara. The veil was five feet longer than the cathedral-length train of the dress. She was distracted by a soft knock on her door. “It’s time, little sister,” Celestia said gently before turning to take her place at the altar. Luna smiled and magically lowered the veil’s blusher over her face. The trumpets began to play a fanfare, and the cathedral doors opened with a flourish. Smiling, Luna took the first steps of the most wonderful walk she would ever take. Phoebus stood at the altar. His eyes misted over when he saw how spectacularly beautiful Luna looked. Luna gave her bouquet to her beaming sister and turned to face her groom. “I will love you long after the sky can no longer hold the stars or the moon,” she promised him. Phoebus made the same vow to Luna, then they exchanged rings. The ceremony ended with a sweet kiss between the newlyweds after they were pronounced husband and wife. Their new life was only beginning, and their future held the not so distant sound of tiny hoofbeats.
