A Digi-Change in Equestria

Chapter 1: When Worlds Collide

Darkness covers the land as strange creatures marched their way towards a village not too far ahead. Some are large, some are made of metal, some look fierce, ferocious, and dangerous. But over the horizon are seven shadow figures standing tall with three creatures standing each beside them. One of the figures is a earth pony colt with a red coat, blue eyes, black and orange mane. He's wearing a bright red jacket with black lines down the sleeves, a large V in the middle but unzipped to show a white and yellow shirt underneath. He along with the other figures were holding strange devices as they held them up and they glowed bright.

The creatures standing next to them then load before they transformed into something else and charged at the army coming towards them. One of these creatures is a dinosaur with red and black scales, a white mane on his head, deep yellow eyes and let out a red blast from its mouth and destroyed a few of the army.

The colt let out a gasp when he woke up in his bed from a dream. "Oh man, what a strange dream." He said to himself before he got out of bed and walked over to the window and opened the blend to show the town of Ponyville. "It felt so real though."

"Fireheart, time to get up!" He heard a mare's voice coming from downstairs. "Your breakfast is ready!"

"Okay, mom!" Fireheart called back. "I'll be down in a minute!" He then turn back to look outside his window again and rested his head on his arm. "Got to say, that dream made real life seems so boring." He closed his eyes as a butterfly landed on his head before he jerk up his arms. "What am I saying?! It's the first day of my new school and I wouldn't miss it for the world!" He then got dressed in the same clothes he wore in his dream before he put on a pair of goggles with red lenses on them and a blue strap around it as it rested on his head.

Once he had everything on, he raised downstairs to find a mare with bright orange coat, dark yellow mane, and ruby red eyes as she was sending down a bowl of soup on the table. "Finally, what took you so long?" The mare asked Fireheart as he took his seat. "You don't want to be late for your first day at school. Especially since this is the School of Friendship created by the princess of friendship herself."

“I’m sorry, mom. I had a strange dream last night but it felt so real though.” Fireheart said to his mom as he started eating his breakfast and as that he was done with his breakfast. “Okay mom, I’m off so I’ll see this afternoon when I am done with school bye mom love you!” Fireheart said as he left the house he started running towards the school.

He was running towards the school the sky started to turn green Fireheart stopped and looked up at the sky as he was curious. “Hmm I never saw the sky turned green before.” He said to himself before the green sky turned back to normal. He wondered what all that was about and wonder how come nopony else noticed it. He then remembered that he's going to be late for school before he continued to run.

"So, what do you think about that odd sighting ponies were talking about?" Ocellus asked her friends as they walked down the hallway of the School of Friendship. "Did they really see a Minotaur with a cannon on its arm?"

"Well during my summer break, I thought I saw a giant red hawk with arms flying above Griffin Stone." Gallus told them. "I never seen anything like it."

"Well, me and my brother saw a walrus in white fur with a horn on its head swimming around where we live." Sliverstream added.

"Yona thought Yona saw a bear made of ice back in Yak Yakistan." Yona said as they turned a corner.

"Hey Smolder, did you see anything weird on your summer vacation?" Sandbar asked as Smolder looked at all of them with a brow.

"Not really. It was pretty much the same." Smolder admitted before she remembers something. "Although, I could have sworn I saw a walking fire running from the volcano. But that could have been-- Oof!" She was knocked on the floor when somepony ran into her. They all looked down and saw it was Fireheart that did it.

"Sorry... I was running late and I had to run as fast as I could." Fireheart said as his eyes were swirls from his dizziness.

"Well next time, watch where you're going next time." Smolder grumbled before Yona helped Fireheart up just one lift from her arm. "So, you new here or something?" She asked as she stood up.

"Yeah, I am." Fireheart admitted when he was put down. "I'm Fireheart and me and my mom just moved here a couple weeks ago."

"Nice to meet you, Fireheart." Sandbar said as he shook his hand before he gestured to the others. "This is Gallus, Ocellus, Yona, Sliverstream, and you've already met Smolder."

"Nice to meet you all." Fireheart said with a bow. "Now a little help to the Headmare's office?" Smolder then let out a sigh before she grabbed him by the arm and dragged him along.

"I'll show you around so you don't run over anyone else." She told him as her friends let out a small laugh. About halfway through the hall, she let go and they walked to the office before Fireheart saw the sky turned green again from outside a window.

"Whoa! Did you see that?!" He asked her before she looked out the window and saw it too.

"What the--?" Smolder spoke before the sky went back to normal. "That was weird."

"What's even weirder is that no one else saw it." Fireheart told her. "What do you think's going on anyway?"

"We'll tell headmare Starlight about what we saw and she can let Princess Twilight about that." Smolder told him before they went to see her.

The rest of the day of school was fine. Fireheart was given a tour by Smolder, he was taught many things in each class by the members of the Council of Friendship, and handmade new friends with the Young Six and others. It was lunch time and he was making his way to the steps to the school to enjoy his lunch when the Young Six caught up with him. "Hey, Fireheart!" Sandbar called. "You mind if we join you?"

"No, I don't mind at all." Fireheart answered with a smile. "After all, the more the merrier." They all sat down at the steps and enjoyed their lunch together. "I have to say, this school is really great and I never seen so many other creatures here before."

"Glad you love it here." Gallus said before taking a bite of his apple.

"So, where did you live before you moved to Ponyville?" Sliverstream asked.

"Oh, just a place Japony." Fireheart told them. "It's kind of like Equestria, only it's more high-tech and we speak a different language."

"That sounds fascinating!" Ocellus exclaimed with a sparkle in her eyes. "Could you tell us more about."

"Oh boy, her inner nerd is coming out!" Smolder joked causing them all to laugh. But that laughter was short-lived when the sky turned green and they all looked up. This time everyone noticed and an earthquake started to rumble. For a moment, the seven of them started to see creatures all around them. Some are large, some are small, some are mechanical, some of them look like ghosts, others look like dinosaurs, and some of them looked like dragons. Three of these creatures caught Fireheart's eye and looked exactly like the ones from his dream.

Just then a beam of light shot down on him from the sky. He wasn't the only one as Smolder, Sandbar, Gallus, Ocellus, Sliverstream, and Yona also had a beam of light shined down on them. Before anyone can know what was happening, there was a giant hole in the sky before different color objects shot out from that hole. These seven different objects were coming down straight at the group and there was a bright light that blinded them when it reached them.

Fireheart wakes up and got a little headache before he felt something on his wrist and saw a red and black watch with a screen on it and two buttons. He looked at his friends and saw that they were wearing the same thing, only Gallus's is blue and yellow, Smolder's is pink and orange, Yona's is green and white, Sandbar's is aquamarine and dark green, Sliverstream's is purple and black, and Ocellus's is light blue and black.

"Oh man, talk about a headache." Sandbar said as he held his head before he noticed the odd watch on his arm. "What the-- What is this?" The others woke up and saw the strange devices on them as well.

"Yona remember a bright light before something came down on Yona and friends." Yona said as she rub her head. "Did Yona and friends just died?"

"Too much pain to be dead." Smolder groaned before they all stood up.

"Did any of you saw those weird creatures that appeared around us when the sky went green and stuff?" Fireheart asked as they all nodded in agreement. "Not only that, that giant hole in the sky was weird and the strange voice that told us something. What was it again?"

"I think it was, "use the power of the Digidisc wisely." But what's a Digidisc?" Ocellus asked before she noticed a pouch with a strange device in it attached to Fireheart's belt. "What's that?" Fireheart pulled out the device out of the pouch and looked at it. It looked like an iPhone with a circle at the bottom. It was the same color as the wash he was wearing before he noticed his friends also had them.

"Looks like I'm not the only one who has one." He said as he pointed to the ones his friends have. Each of them took the devices out of the pouches and each them are the same colors as the watch they are wearing.

"What exactly are these things?" Sliverstream asked as she started pressing the buttons on the screen. "There's only it has is phone, call, and edit."

"Plus, there's three empty slots in them too." Ocellus added as she looked at her's. "Do you think we should show these to Starlight?" Fireheart was about to say something before he heard a strange melody. He then ran off to follow the strange Melody and left his friends confused as to why he's running.

"Hey dud, wait up for us!" Sandbar called as he and the others chased after him. They followed him through the halls of the library and went down into the place where Cozy Glow tried to get rid of all the magic in Equestria. He gave a look around as the others finally caught up to him. "Why did you run away like that dude?"

"I thought I heard a melody calling out to me." Fireheart explained as he continued to look around. "But I think it's more something else that's calling to me." They eventually came to the spot where the magic was almost sent away and in the center they saw something they never seen before laying on the ground. "What is that?" He asked before the watch on his wrist started beeping before it showed the exact same creature that's on the floor and some info of it.

"Guilmon?" All seven of them asked when they saw the info. Fireheart gave another look at Guilmon and he looked hurt. Not only that, but he looked like one of the creatures standing beside him in his dream. He then had a determined look on his face as he was slowly approaching the odd looking reptile.

"Wait, I think we should get Headmare Starlight about this." Ocellus whispered to him before the others followed him. She soon followed in as well as they got closer to the strange reptile laying on the floor. Fireheart what's closest to the reptile before it slowly open its eyes and was looking at Fireheart.

"Hey there, are you okay." He asked Guilmon as it tilted his head at Fireheart. "You looked like you just been in a fight."

"Is it going to be okay?" Silverstream ask as they looked at it with sincerity. They then saw him open his mouth as if he was about to say something.

"Do you need something to help?" Fireheart asked as it looked up his head and looked at all of them before they heard a growling coming from its stomach.

"I'm very hungry." Guilmon said before all seven of them did an anime fall when he said that.

Later, the seven of them brought food for Guilmon after sneaking some from both the kitchen and the Sweet Apple Anchors. They all watched as Guilmon was wolfing down the food they brought for him. "Wow, strange reptile was very hungry." Yona commented as he was halfway done with the food they brought.

"You know, he's kind of cute in some way." Silverstream commented as he finished the food and let out a burp.

"Thanks for the food!" Guilmon said to them as he had a smile on his face.

"It was no problem, Guilmon was it?" Fireheart said before he had a look of interest on his face. "If you don't mind me asking, what exactly are you?"

"I'm a Digimon." Guilmon answered.

"We'll asked about what a digimon is later." Gallus said. "So how did you end up here in the first place?"

"I don't know." Guilmon answered. "All I remember it was an earthquake in the Digiworld where I live before I blacked out and met all of you."

"That's odd." Smolder spoke up. "There was an earthquake here before we got these strange devices. Do you think they could be connected or something?" Before they could say anything else, there was a large rumble coming from outside.

"What was that?!" Sandbar asked as they all felt the rumble.

"Don't know, but let's check it out!" Fireheart suggested before he looked at Guilmon. "You're gonna have to stay here until we get back." They quickly then ran outside and saw a humongous black dinosaur on a rampage in Ponyville. They wondered what that thing is before their watches started to beep again and an image and info of the monster showed up.

"That thing must be a Digimon too." Fireheart theorize as Triceramon let out a Volcanic Striker as everypony in town ran for their lives. The Mane Six we're doing all they can to fight off the giant dinosaur, but have proven too strong as it swiped at Rainbow Dash and Twilight knocking them to the ground before Applejack and Fluttershy quickly caught them. "We have to help them! We need to get everyone in town to safety."

The others agreed as they ran towards town and helped everypony who is either injured or stuck and got them to safety. Fireheart saw a little filly was crying as she couldn't find her mother and father. He ran over to her and picked her up before running for it until the Digimon that is attacking spotted him. It started to chase after the two as Fireheart was running as fast as he could to get away from it. Surprisingly, the large beast was faster than him despite his size and everything. It felt like Fireheart couldn't get away from the giant dinosaur until--

"PYRO SPHERE!!" A red orb was shot right at Triceramon and blinded him for a minute. Fireheart wondered where that came from before he looked ahead and saw Guilmon charging at the much larger Digimon. Fireheart let the filly down and let her run towards her mom and dad before looking at Guilmon.

"Guilmon, what are you doing?!" He called out as Guilmon jumped and karate chopped the larger Digimon, only to do little damage and get knocked back by its tail.

"I want to help!" Guilmon exclaimed as he got up and shot out another pyro sphere at Triceramon. Fireheart watched as the larger Digimon was tossing around Guilmon like a rag doll and he couldn't take it. Fireheart may have just met him, but it felt like he knew him for a long time and he wanted to do something to help as he gripped the device in his hand tight.

After another attack, Guilmon lay on the ground severely injured by the attacks. Fireheart couldn't take it anymore as he ran in front of the injured Digimon and looked at the much larger one with determination and courage. "Enough!!" He shouted. "I won't let you hurt him! I may have just met him today, but it feels like I known him all my life and I won't let you do anything else to him!!" The device he was holding in his hand started to glow as he shouted. "Guilmon is my friend and I will protect him!!!"

Just then, a beam of light shot out from the device and it pointed at Guilmon. Fireheart looked at the device as the first slot of it was being loading in something before an image of Guilmon appeared on it. He wondered what this meant before he heard a voice call out to him. "Catch these!" A male voice shotted as he turned and saw three discs being throwed at him before he caught them. He saw a figure in a brown cloak on top of one of the buildings.

"What are these, and who are you?!" Fireheart asked the cloaked figure.

"Who I am isn't important right now!" The cloaked figure shouted. "Right now, insert the blue disc on top of the Digivice and pointed at Guilmon!"

"Will it help him?" Fireheart asked as he looked at Guilmon.

"It'll do more than that!" The cloaked figure told him. "And while you're doing it, say "digidisc insert" and "access digivolution"!"

Fireheart wondered what all that meant before he heard the much larger Digimon let out a big roar and knew there was no time. He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath before letting out before opening his eyes and letting a fire in them burn bright. He then tossed up the small blue disc up in the air before catching it. "DIGIDISC, INSERT!" He then placed the disc in the top slot of the device as the screen showed the disc being recorded and something was being downloaded. "ACCESS, DIGIVOLUTION!" He then pointed the device at Guilmon as a beam of light shot at him. He then heard the device in his hand spoke up in a female voice.

A bright light covered Guilmon as something happened to him and he could hear his voice.
