4 weeks later…
“He is waking up!” A voice said from somewhere in the room.
“Where am I?” I think to myself as I feel arms being wrapped around me.
“Starshot you are alive!” Another voice says from the other side of the room.
“Of course I am, why would I not be?” I think as I forgot about the duel.
“One second I need to check him before you go doing things like that.” A woman in a white coat said as I opened my eyes to see the crowd.
“Hey guys, how long have I been out?” I ask as I see all the girls of the friendship club and Twilight there. “Also what is she doing here?”
“She became a friend after we found out about how she was forced to use the magic against you.” Sunset Shimmer said, looking down at her phone.
“Ok then well how long am I supposed to be in here for?” I ask as they look at eachother with Rainbow just now entering the room with drinks.
“Today if you are lucky.” Twilight says nervously.
“STARSHOT!” Dash shouted as she jumped over everyone to hug me, throwing the drinks out of her hands with Applejack and Pinkie catching them.
“Hey calm down, you don't need to be so dramatic. I was only out for two weeks, not like anything has changed.” I said, sitting up, grabbing my pendant from the table and putting it on to greet the spirits. “There are a few more of you than normal.” I think as I see some new spirit Galaxy-Eyes Cloudragon around Rainbow Dash and a Horus chick around Twilight.
“Two weeks dude it’s been over a month since that duel. My wounds from it have healed though not completely.” Dash said as I saw a light scar that went down her hand.
“Boss you up, finally now I can get rid of these two.” Ultimate said before throwing Sieger, and Infinity far off.
After about 20 hours of waiting I was released from the hospital only to find myself doing the same thing that put me in but more tame as an introductory duel between the two transfer students Twilight and Sunset wrapped up with Sunset winning the duel. “Wait Sunset?!” I finally thought. Seeing her walk back to her seat across from me with twilight in the seat next to her. According to Rainbow there was an audible thud when they got there from my head hitting the table.
“You know boss, you should pay more attention.” Infinity said curling around my neck with Sieger in Rainbow’s lap acting like a dog.
“Ok class as you know the everfree trip is just around the corner and this class is coming to an end, and it has been good for me to teach you but from now on this class will have a new teacher. Starshot!” The teacher shouted as I looked up.
“This is because I sleep in your class right?” I said as he laughed.
“No, this is because of them and your ability to summon real monsters.” The teacher said as his own monster The Calculator transformed from the one on the desk. “You don’t know? your father allowed for some of the doctors to run tests on you, and when they did they were able to discover how to make monsters that are physical.” As he said this I touched my chest looking for my pendant.
“My father? That’s impossible because he died years ago or at least that’s what I was told.” I say as my pendant is not around my neck.
“In the record states he never died and he did just make the tech to bring monsters to life about a month ago.” The teacher says as I hold my head
The bell rings signifying the end of the day and I see monsters everywhere, all of them in a smaller chibi state. Walking then running through the halls then getting on the bus I ignore all the people talking and monsters chatting. “MOM!” I yell as I knock down the door and throw my stuff down. “What did you do and why is dad alive?”
“Your dad made his reappearance then.” She said as if she knew.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Your dad never died, he just left us to work on his projects and one of them was your pendant and eyes.” She said looking down crying.
“My eyes?” I said sitting down next to her.
“Yes You were blind as a baby but your dad had used a Duel Spirit to make new eyes for you. He also changed your DNA when you were in a coma that he put you in so you would not be lonely Starshot.” She said still crying.
“So you let him do this to me for what?” I said as my hair glowed red.
“So you wouldn’t get sick and injured. Even the pendant which he called the stabilizer was so you don't get too emotional and break out into the spirit realm.” She said, clearing her tears. “But hey now you know and are a teen so you should be able to control it.”
Just then a knock at the door had broken the silence. “Miss Kepler, your husband has requested that the whole family move in together now that his work is done.” A man said outside the door as my little sister opened it and walked in.
“Who is that?” She asked as she walked past the man.
“Someone who will take us to our new house.” Mom said as my sister ran to go pack her things.
“So now I have to live with him after he experimented on me?” I asked my mom as she just nodded yes. “Fine then.” I said as I walked into my room and had my decks help pack my stuff into suitcases or portals to the point where all that was left was a bed.
“Starshot, where are you going?” My sister asked.
“To a friend's house, Nova.” I say with a smile as I put up my hood and walk out with my suitcase in toe.
“Starshot you get back here right now!” Kepler screamed as I kept walking.
After a bit I turned around to see the car slowly following me. “Boss, you know that they are following you right?” Construct said as she flew around me.
“I know if only they would disappear at the flick of a wrist or something.” As I say that I snap my fingers vanishing into thin air for the people around me. On the other end of the dimension I walk through the spirit realm. “ So it's activated by snapping then? Wonder if I have to have a purpose or if it’s anytime.”
“Boss you ready?” Infinity asks as he turns into his full size looking back at me. “Hey boss, what's with the white hair?”
“What?” I say as I pull a little hair over my eyes to check. “White hair? Guess the spirit realm must change my appearance without the pendant?” I questioned thinking about what could cause it. “Guess the duel spirit I have in me was white then. Hey Infinity seeing as we need a place to call home till the heat dies down, where do you think we should go?” I ask the now seventy foot long dragon, and almost instantly.
“Rainbow Dash!” He shouts as if he had plans to meet up with someone.
“Fine then to her house it is.” I say as I jump on his back, and we fly off towards where her house was.
All was fine till I saw something in the distance. 3 lights one blue, one purple, and one yellow. I did not mind this as we flew by but something that I kept in mind as a battle between monsters.
“Yahhh!” I heard something shout as we approached what I assumed to be where Rainbow's house was.
“Ok not the time for a fight!” Infinity said landing as I jumped off to see the dragon who threw the punch.
“Ah Galaxy-Eyes good to see you.” I say as I snap my fingers and hope that I could return to the real world with my hair color turning to normal after I leave.
I appeared to be just down the street from her house as I walked up the hill to her house. Just as I was about to knock on the door a loud bang was heard as the door opened with Rainbow holding a bat in her hand as if someone tried to attack her. “Starshot! You felt that right the large magic burst started at your house and now it's here!?” She shouted.
“Sorry I think that was me.” I laughed as she put the bat down.
“Really there is no way you could make a burst of magic like that.” She mocked as if she could do better.
“Hold my hand.” I said as she stared at me and blushed slightly.
“What why?!” She shouted.
“Ok then fine.” I say grabbing her arm and snapping my fingers a few times with my other arm till the dimensional shift.
Just as we enter the fight between Cyber Dragon Infinity and Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon rages on, with some debris almost hitting us. I pull us out of the other world with another snap before we could be crushed by stones.
“Ok maybe I believe you.” She said as she fainted out of shock. 10 minutes later she woke up in her bed with me on the floor. “What are you doing in my room!?” She shrieked as her parents walked in the room.
“He asked if he could stay here for a little while as his family is out of town.” Windy said as her dad chimed in.
“So we are letting him stay in the guest room.” Bow chimed in.
After the whole ordeal with my family saying that I needed a place to stay was simpler, and I did not want to explain the new experimental factor in my life. Later that night Rainbow had questioned me about why I was staying the night. “Dude you can't just appear at a friend's house without calling them.” She said as we were playing video games in her room.
“I would but I don’t have one so can't call you.” I say as she looks at me like I'm insane.
“How do you not have a phone? It's almost required nowadays!” She shouts at me as I start winning our game.
“It’s a distraction and I don’t really have a need for one. I never had friends till this year, and staying off the grid helps me get out of most things.” I say winning the game with a reward of a hard punch in the shoulder.
“That still doesn’t mean you can’t have a phone.” Dash says as we get ready to call it quits for the night. “Anyway Starshot the guest room is the next one to go to sleep. I'll see you in the morning.” She says with her normal trickster tone.
“Whatever Dash I’ll see you at school.” I say walking out of the room picking up my deck on the way out.
Once we had gone to sleep and woken up the next day I left for the bus before Dash had even woken up. I tried to wake her up but with how hard she sleeps I would have better chances brushing Tyranno’s teeth.
“Thinking you could leave without me Starshot!?” I hear from about two blocks down the street seeing Dash and Cloudragon full on sprinting down the road almost racing the bus to get there before it.
“Come on Dash hustle!” I shout with a smile as she grows wings, grabs Cloudragon, and flys over to the bus stop. “Boring if you could fly then I’ll just walk to School with my friends.”
“Boss If you want I can fly you.” Infinity said as we made off for the school right behind Rainbow Dash.
“You don’t have to go so fast, Dash.” I say as we catch up with her on infinity now in his full size.
“You could have waited for me or better yet woke me up!” She shouted as we landed at the school to claps and cheering from the other students.
“Well if you would wake up when I shout your name then I wouldn’t leave without you.” I say giving her a death stare.
“Whatever Starshot just get out of here I’ll see you in 6th period.” Dash says before shouting. “Plus you don’t even have friends that ride our bus or go our route!” as she runs off to beat the bell.
“Whatever.” I think I noticed the three lights I saw in the spirit realm now starting to manifest but I don’t mind because duel spirits manifest into our world a lot of the time just not visible.
In 6th period the four of us being me, Rainbow, Shimmer, and now Sparkle all sit at the same table. Right as the bell rings, and attendance is finished I clock out for the period till woken up by all of them with a devious grin on the faces of both Shimmer and Dash. “So Starshot, did you hear about the assignment today?” Shimmer asks as I see the classroom outside on the field practicing.
“No and I don’t care.” I say before she chimes in.
“It’s half your grade Starshot.” She says as I polt outside and I'm ready to fight at a moment's notice.
“Yo, what was he assignment?” I ask as I see the girls with their duel disks run outside.
“A 3v1 Duel if you can survive three turns the team of three loses but with you.” He pauses remembering the fight I had not too long ago. “You can beat them Starshot.” he says almost as if they paid him off for this.
“Well besides the 3v1 what type of duel is it?” I ask, feeling dreadful and worrying about what they had planned.
“An action duel and the turns will be you, Dash, Twilight, Shimmer then back to you to end one round. You may use more than one deck in this duel.” The teacher says to my relief.
“Ok then so I get two turns in one round then.” I think as we get into positions with our backs to each other.
“Duel!” We shout running off from the start.
Turn 1:
Starshot: 8000
Rainbow Dash: 8000
Sunset Shimmer: 8000
Twilight Sparkle: 8000
“Well let's start with Black Brachios!” I shout as the purple sauropod rises from the earth, and a crowd starts to form as I hop on brachios’s back. “I’ll set three cards and end my turn.” I say as I take off, and they smile as if they are going to end this turn one.
“My turn! I’ll summon Photon Orbital, and end my turn with a face down.” Dash shouts starting off for the action card I was targeting.
“M-My turn. I play Horus The Black Flame Dragon Lv4. Next I play the spell Double summon and use its effect to summon Armed Dragon Lv3 then I’ll end my turn with a face down.” Twilight said in her quiet tone.
“I'll go next. I'll start with Red-Eyes Insight! By sending one Red-Eyes monster to the graveyard I can add one spell or trap that lists Red-Eyes in its card text. I choose Red-Eyes Fusion, and I’ll play it to fuse my Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Lightpulsar Dragon from the deck into Meteor Black Comet Dragon!” Shimmer says as she pulls out an action card from a bush. “Meteor Black Comet Dragon attacks Meteor Flash!” She shouts as I look for an action card to get out of this.
“hg.” I groan as the attack collides with Black Brachios destroying him, sending me flying into the dirt.
“That will do it for now, Starshot. I end my turn.” Sunset says as I get my next turn.
Right then I draw. I'll send one monster to the graveyard to special summon Cyber Dragon Nachster, then with Nachster’s effect I can summon one Cyber Dragon from my graveyard. raise Cyber Dragon! Next I’ll summon Cyber Dragon Drei!” As I finish the summons the three dragons are dropped into battle by helicopter or flying themselves in. “I’ll activate Cyber Dragon Drei to turn Nachster into a level five monster. Next I’ll use my two level five monsters Drei and Nachster to create their overlay network! I XYZ summon Cyber Dragon Nova! Don’t get used to him now because I’ll use my rank five Cyber Dragon Nova to XYZ summon once more! Go Cyber Dragon Infinity!” I shout as my old friend flies in letting out a deafening roar that got the attention of even the principles. As I ran around with the two machines following me I picked up an action card and chose to save it for later. “Infinity, activate your effect and consume Photon Orbital!” I shout as the dragon lets out a roar turning the opposing robot into a ball of light and adding it to its track of overlay units. “I’ll end my turn for the cyber dragons.” I say as the next round starts
Turn 2:
Starshot: 6300
Rainbow Dash: 8000
Sunset Shimmer: 8000
Twilight Sparkle: 8000
“Now I draw!” as I say this I see Twilight say a number. “I’ll set one monster face down then end my turn.” I say as I think about the hell that could await me if Twilight starts to count higher.
“Finally feels like a year my turn! First I’ll use Photon Sanctuary. This allows me to get two photon tokens on the field. Next I’ll tribute my tokens to summon Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!” As Dash finishes her sentence I see the sky turn black with stars covering the sky, and the dragon appears from space smiling seeing Infinity on the field. “I’ll activate the spell Action Magic Rush! This card lets my monster attack you directly but only for half the damage. Go Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon attack with Photon Stream of Destruction!” Rainbow says as the burst of light hits me square in the chest knocking me off Infinity and onto the normal Cyber Dragon below. “I end my turn.” Rainbow says with a smile.
“Five.” Twilight says as she draws. “I’ll activate Wave Motion Cannon!” she shouts as I nod to Infinity.
“Not so fast Twilight. Don’t forget about Infinity now his effect activates by consuming one overlay unit it can negate and destroy your card.” I say knowing I might have lost the duel if that card had hit.
“Fine then. I’ll activate both my monster's effects allowing me to summon Horus The Black Flame Dragon lv6, and Armed Dragon lv5 from my deck. I’ll end my turn by placing one card face down.” Twilight says huffing as all the running was hard on her till one of her dragons picked her up.
“RIght my turn, then I draw!” Sunset says as she mounts her dragon. “I’ll send the Red-Eyes Black Dragon to the grave to summon Red-Eyes Alternative Black Dragon. I’ll activate the spell Silver’s Cry to summon from my graveyard Red-Eyes Black Dragon now I’ll use my two level seven monsters to make the overlay network! I XYZ summon Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon. I’ll then use its effect to discard an Overlay unit to summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon from the graveyard.” As Sunset says her move I start to rush over to another action card. “Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon Attack Cyber Dragon with Black Molten Flare!” Sunset shouts as the dragon breathes fire that hits me directly with a burning feeling on my skin. “Meteor Black Comet Dragon Attacks his Cyber Dragon Infinity with Meteor Flash!”
“I activated the quick play spell Energize allowing me to give one of my monsters one thousand extra attack but it can't attack on my next turn.” I say as the twenty seven hundred attack becomes thirty seven hundred destroying her monster.
“Dang I’ll end my turn.” Sunset says as I sigh in relief.
“I’ll start by playing Cyber Revsystem to revive Cyber Dragon Nachster from my graveyard and with him my original Cyber Dragon! Next I’ll use Nachster and Cyberdragon to make a link circuit. I Link summon Cyber Dragon Seiger! I’ll activate Infinity’s effect, and I pick Red-Eyes Black Dragon!” I shout in a commanding voice as the monster is added to the overlay tack. I look at my hand to see the amount of cards I have and hear from Sunset.
“Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon’s effect activates; you take 500 damage for each effect activated for a total of one thousand five hundred life points of damage.” She says with a smug face as a ring of fire comes from the ground to burn me.
“Fine then but I'm not done. I activate Super Polymerization! By discarding one card I can use your monsters for a fusion summon! I pick Red-Eyes Black Dragon and Meteor Black Comet Dragon to use as materials. I fusion summon Starving Venom Fusion Dragon then use its effect to copy the effects of Cyber Dragon Seiger.” I say as I feel the heat from the fire ring come back up for another thousand damage.
“Good call on that dragon Sunset.” Dash says as she gives Sunset a High Five as Twilight gives a smile.
“I’m not out yet girls so be ready! Starving Venom will activate his effect and attack Red-Eyes Flare Metal Dragon with Venom Frenzy!” I shout as the dragon flies off to sink its teeth into the metallic dragon destroying it. “Seiger attack Horus The Black Flame Dragon lv5 with Cybernetic Overflow!” I shout as the monsters clash. “I end my turn.”
Turn 3:

Rainbow Dash: 8000
Sunset Shimmer: 5900
Twilight Sparkle: 8000
“I’ll flip summon Shaddoll Squamata to activate its effect to destroy one monster on the field. I pick Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon. Next I’ll use Shaddoll fusion to fuse my Squamata with the Armored Archosaur in my hand to summon out El Shaddoll Construct!” As I shout this out the wooden maiden awakens from her slumber and descends on the battlefield. “With two dinosaurs in the grave I can special summon out an old friend. I special summon Ultimate Conductor Tyranno!” I shout as the ground shakes to reveal the bones of an ancient beast growing flesh and armor. “Ready it’s time to end someone's game Tyranno Attack Sunset with Electric Vice!” I shout as he shoots a bolt of lightning at sunset. “Shadoll construct your turn Twisting Wires.” I say as the monster wraps sunset in wires and starts to twist.
“Augh!” sunset screams as the monster lets go.
“That will be all for now.” I say as the turn passes to Dash “Hope you don’t mind it being just two of you now.”
“That doesn’t scare me even if I know what will happen next Sensei.” Dash says, holding her head high.
“Sensei, didn't we talk about you calling not me that?” I say weirded out as she looks at me with devilish eyes.
“We did but you are my superior in dueling so Sensei makes sense.” she says, grabbing an action card. “I’ll do the same thing as last time, Photon Sanctuary into Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon!” she says with her normal attitude. “Next is a monster reborn to bring back my other Photon Dragon. Last but not least I make the overlay network with my two level eight monsters. I XYZ summon Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon! I’ll activate its effect by detaching an overlay unit, all effects on your side of the field are negated till the end of the turn!” She says with a smile thinking she won.
“Sorry Dash I use Infinity's effect to negate and destroy your Tachyon Dragon.” I say as she lets out a yell.
“I can’t believe I forgot about that again!” she says as the monster disappears. “I end my turn.”
“My turn I draw. Twilight says as she looks at the cards in her hand I’ll play Level Modulation. You draw two cards and I can summon Horus The Black Flame Dragon lv6! Then I’ll play Level Up! tributing my lv6 to make it Horus The Black Flame Dragon lv8!” Twilight says, smiling to herself. “I’ll end my turn and attack me if you dare.” She says setting 3 cards.
“FIne then I’ll make it quick Seiger, Starving activates your effects on Infinity.” I say as the dragon goes from two thousand seven hundred to six thousand nine hundred. “Infinity add her Black Flame Dragon to the overlay track.” I say as the dragon is added and another two hundred attack points are added to Infinity. “Go ahead and attack Dash! Infinity Gear Reverse!” I shout as the dragon unleashes a blast from his jaws.blowing her back and into Twilight knocking them both down.
“Initiate duel override.” A female voice says as we look at our duel disks.
“That’s enough kids, the winner is clearly Starshot.” The teacher says as the bell rings to end the day.
As we are walking home I feel a hard tug on my bag by Sunset. “You could have at least taken it easy on us.” She says with an angry tone.
“I did, I had MST and Mirror force in my hand so I could have bounced cards back.” I say as Twilight looks at me.
“But from what Dash said you seem to be the one who taught her to duel.” Twilight says holding her Hours chick in her arms.
“That’s true she won’t admit it but she got into dueling.” I say as Sunset and Rainbow Dash look at three girls ahead of us.
“Sunset could that be?” Dash says as they stare harder as one of the girls turns around locking eyes with Dash before telling the other two, and running away from the death stare.
“It can’t be we sent them back to Equestria. There is no way that they should have made their way back.” I hear Sunset say under her voice.
“What’s Equestria?” I ask as the girls look as if they have been hiding this for years.
“A magical land where ponies talk.” Sunset says as I burst out laughing.
“That's insane, it sounds like a kids show.” I say calming down slightly.
“Rude much?” Dash says as I’m shrill laughing.
“Sorry It just sounds strange to me. I mean a world where the ponies talk next you will tell me that the magic leaks here.” I say as the girls stop. “Wait so magic exists here because of that place?” I question thinking about how the recent events could be explained. “So the whole flying thing, the shadow game? Dash, do you think this magic has a role in my powers?” I ask starting to get worried as to what would happen if this magic got out of hand.
“Probably not as the magic that comes through is friendship based.” Sunset said almost like a personal jab.
As we start walking again the girls give me a brief explanation on magic and how they used it. Sunset with her story on how she turned into a demon, then embodiment of friendship. Rainbow Dash's wings that transformed her into a valkyrie that could keep up with Infinity’s speed. Finally Twilight who went in depth about the science behind it so much to the point where I spaced out. Soon we reached an intersection where Twilight and Sunset made their leave to go home with me, and Dash walked in silence.
“So now that you know that you are forced to join us on our escapades ok Starshot.” Dash says as we approach the house.
“Fine but I get to keep my runner in the garage ok.” I say as Dash smiles.
“Only if I get to ride it every now and then.” she said with a jingle from her keys.
“Ah there she is.” I say as my runner drives itself into the driveway.
“How did?” Dash questioned.
“Seiger can interact with electronics so I let him drive the bike here.” I say as he revs the engine.
“Whatever, just know I’m beating you this time.” Dash says opening the door and rushing to her room.
“Sure whatever you say.” I think as I join her for a game.
