//------------------------------// // Chapter 19 // Story: Lighting Heaven Reincarnated // by A random pony oc //------------------------------// "If you're really going to train, just read the book. And make sure to run too." Rae said while they glanced at me. Then Rae entered and closed the portal, galloping. As the portal closed I got in a daze, and started to go home, slowly but surely picking up my pace. Whatever it is, I don't need to face it right now. It was already evening, and the night was fast approaching. And it was cold and windy, as the breeze flew by me. I involuntarily shuddered as I let out a breath fast. With the sudden rush of adrenaline Rae gave me, it increased my anxiety. I could swear each time I looked back, there was a silhouette of some pony. As I took hurried glances of the now abandoned bench, I recalled the events that happened in that single day. The suddenness of Rae appearing, our conversations, the mystery of R... Wait, that's why she was in a hurry! She was talking about R. indirectly, therefore some sort of alarm was triggered for R. to probably chase her. Hell, maybe that was the reason why she tried to visit me the first time but failed. She truly wasn't kidding when it's dangerous to even think- I fell over with a thump and a high-pitched groan as my noggin ached. I gazed above me as I saw a mare gazing at me, with a pitch-black coat and mane, blueish-black eyes, and a chess cutie mark. More specifically, a knight , knocking over a pawn. I should really start to pay attention to my surroundings, it was almost like appeared like a ghost. "Oh, did I push you over?" the pony said while looking over, quite worried. "I didn't mean to, I swear. Here, let me help you up." she said while extending a hoof. Helping me get on my hooves, she flashed me a smile. I sized her up secretly while standing up. She seems so sincere, that it's unsettling. But isn't every pony in this show like this? Yet something is off-putting about her. As I was questioning myself, she continued. "My name is Nelsona Chester. Are you okay?" she asked. She seemed so innocent, but my sixth sense is telling, no, screaming at me to get away from her, so I tried to move away from her. "Yeah. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but I got to get going now." I spoke. But she suddenly said, "Oh, please, we can have a little chat before you go, right?" For a pony in this show, she sure is relentless. I'm pretty sure there's only a few ponies who can match up on her talkative attitude. Hell, was she even in the show? I don't remember, nor do I care. I need to get back home, so the only way right now is to match up on her attitude. This time, I firmly refused and insisted that I needed to go home. Walking past Nelsona, they said their pleasantries and adieus, if not a bit reluctantly. I started to walk slowly, glancing every few seconds, watching the figure recedingly get smaller in the distance. After a few minutes of walking, I looked behind me to see if anyone was following me, then returned home galloping. Opening the door sluggishly, I tumbled to the nearest couch I could find. With the bell ringing subsiding, I breathed in big gulps of air, and snuggled up to preserve what's left of my warmth. I should remind myself to never run when it's cold, I think I got sick. "Oh Celestia, where had you been?!" Twilight said when she glanced my way. She dropped whatever she was doing and came to tend to me. Spike watched from afar, puzzled. "Just breathing some fresh air for a while." I replied. I glanced at the window, taking note that it was raining. "I came inside when the light shower started." "Well, you should always tell us when you leave. You shouldn't let yourself wander away so carelessly." she said with a huff. I promised her as I got up. I moved closer to the lit fire in the chimney. Suddenly, the bell at the door rang, and the door opened. Seems like there's someone here. I forgot this place was a public library. But my momentary surprise quickly became alarmed when I heard a familiar voice. "Hello, sorry for coming in so late." a mare voice said. I looked over in a rush and saw Nelsona happily talking to Twilight. She glanced this way, and said, "Oh, I didn't know you lived here!" she said with a smile. Is that her signature thing or what? Twilight beckoned me to come towards her as if she wanted to introduce me to her. But a few seconds after, everything started to slow down. Closing the necromancer book, I pondered. I truly did not want to use this often, but the occasion calls for it. This pony is weird, seeing how it's a 'coincidence' that we met more times we should as strangers. I tried to sneak a bit farther, promising to myself I'll remove their memories la- "You're going to remove my memories?" a voice asked. I paused in place as my heart skipped a beat. Slowly turning around, I saw Nelsona standing there, unfazed by the spell I was casting. She gave me a smirk as she continued. "You know, you should always be more considerate of what you're doing. Think about other ponies feelings, and if you want that to happen to you." she said with a mocking tone. "Of course, I would do the same thing as you're doing, but still." Suppressing the turmoil in my heart, I asked weakly, "W-Who are you?" "Didn't I already tell you before?" she said as she chuckled. "I'm Nelsona, expert on chess and lover of books. Of course, that's one of my disguises. If you want to address me, you can call me R." "Now, if you would ever so kindly show me where's Rae is, I would appreciate it."
