Every day afterward, I was always happy. Flurry received a book from her school that she had to read one chapter of by the end of the week. But when Flurry came with the book, Flurry looked upset. I walked up to Flurry and said,
"Hey, is everything OK?”
Flurry looked at me, shaking her head
I looked at her and said, "Flurry, what’s wrong?”
Flurry looked at me and pulled out a book. The title of the book is “everything about red moon changelings,” she said
“I have to read a chapter by the end of the week but I can’t even read a page without struggling with a word, and worst of all the teacher made me stand up in front of the class and told me to read the first sentence” and when I did every pony laughed at me. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't read even a few words.
I replied
“I could help you read the book if you want"
Flurry looked at me with a confused look and said, "I didn't know you can read?"
I smirked and said, "I taught myself how to read by reading the books you have on your shelf. "
Flurry giggled and blushed a little and replied.
"Ok, I would like that"
For the next few minutes, we read the book together, and I was having an easier time reading the book compared to Flurry. She got through a whole paragraph without stopping or making any mistakes. As we were reading, she notice the book seemed to describe me. As she saw this; she looked at me curiously and asked me,
"so Zack, who are you exactly?".
I said,
"I'm a changeling. At least I thought I was, but if this book is right, then I'm a red moon changeling."
The book said that a red moon changing has red eyes and wings. It also says that red moon Changelings is born every One hundred read moons. which explains why I no pony have seen a red moon changeling. It is because they are rare to find. Or even an exist.
After we found that out, we continued to read the book and in doing so, learned many things about red moon changelings. One fact about them is that the book mentioned said red moon changelings do not get hungry but still need to feed because their power comes from the love that feeds off of other ponies
Flurry looked at me and said, "what does it mean by feed"
I shrugged and said, "well I believe feed just means the same thing as eating"
after I said that Cadence called Flurry stairs for lunch and Flurry said
"speaking of eating, I have to go get some lunch. See you in a bit"
And with that, Flurry ran out of the door to grab some lunch. But when she came back, she saw me curled up on the floor in pain. Flurry quickly ran over to me to see what was wrong and said,
"Zack, what’s wrong? What happened?”
I tried to reply, but I was in too much pain to speak
Flurry looked around my body to see if there were any wounds on me, but what she found shocked her. There was a small red crack in the middle of my belly. She spent a few minutes looking at the red crack before snapping herself back when she heard my scream in pain.
When Flurry heard me scream in pain, Flurry tried everything she could do to help me, but it was no use. A few minutes later, Cadence came into the room to see Flurry sitting beside me. Cadence was shocked to see me in Flurry's room, but when flurry said "mom please help him" she immediately rushed to where I was and tried to figure out what was wrong. Then she looked shocked and asked flurry
"Flurry, how long has he been here"
Flurry replied saying "he was here when I was very young"
Flurry was about to yell at Flurry for keeping some pony in her room without telling her, but she stop after I started screaming in pain. Flurry pleaded to her mom, saying,
"mom please help him"
Cadence turned her attention back to me and replied to Flurry
"we will talk about this later. But I know why he is in pain. He's starving and from the looks of things, he has been starving for a long time"
Flurry nodded and turned to get some food from the kitchen, but Cadence stopped her, saying,
"giving him solid food or any food that we eat will only make it worse. He is a changeling and changeling's can only eat love"
Flurry looked at Cadence and said, "then why don't you give him some love"
Cadence blushed at the thought, but she quickly snap herself back and said,
"that's not how it works, how changeling's he needs to feed off of some pony who deeply cares about him"
Flurry replies saying, "I care about him. He is the only friend I have ever had"
Cadence smiled at Flurry and said, "if this is true, then let Zack feed off of you and I promise you and Zack will be fine."
Flurry nodded her head and Cadence backed away, and with the last bit of strings that I had, I slowly got up and opened my mouth as the love from Flurry's body came to me and I felt better and the read crack on my belly disappear, but the same red cracks formed around my eye. After a while, I felt a lot stronger, but I saw Flurry was having a hard time standing up. I tried to stop feeding, but I couldn't. The more love I consumed, the stronger I felt.
A few minutes later, Flurry collapsed on the floor. I stopped myself and sprinted over to her and caught her before she hit the floor. Then Cadence ran over to Flurry to see if she was alright as I laid her on the floor. Cadence was re-levied to find that Flurry was just sleeping from exhaustion. After that, Cadence turned her attention turned to me.
