Episode 6: The Solaris Saga (Part 6):
Armageddon
In the valley, Sonic and Elise were walking through the valley. Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Sunny and Izzy were walking around until Sunny stopped.
Twilight noticed it and asked, "What is it, Sunny?"
"Something doesn't feel right," Sunny said. "You said that there were seven Chaos Emeralds, right?" Twilight nodded. "Didn't you say that Mephiles had that Purple Chaos Emerald?"
"Yeah, why?" Twilight asked.
"Then why is it over there?!" Sunny said, pointing somewhere. The others looked towards where Sunny was pointing and saw the Purple Chaos Emerald glowing in a bright light, blinding all those who were there. Especially Sonic and Elise.
But then, Sonic felt something go through his entire torso from back to front. The group looked at Sonic and saw that he had an energy laser going through him.
"Sonic!" Twilight, Rainbow and Rarity said in unison. Then the group looked towards where the beam was coming from and they saw Mephiles there.
"Hey! It's that Mephiles guy!" Sunny said.
"Sonic! Sonic!" Elise said, trying to wake him up. But he wasn't coming. Mephiles was laughing evilly at the group. Elise then tried to wake up Sonic but he wasn't responding. Elise then remembered something her father said.
"Yes, Elise... Don't cry, no matter what happens."
"Oh... no," Elise said, starting let out some tears.
"Wait, no!" Twilight said. "Don't...!"
"Nooooooooo!" Elise cried out. Just then, a huge burst let out, sending the five mares back.
"It's Iblis!" Twilight said.
"The world is doomed!" Sunny said.
Mephiles laughed and said, "Finally, the seal is broken! At long last, I'll be able to join with you! Iblis!" He then held out the Purple Chaos Emerald. "Now, Chaos Emerald! It's time for the final curtain call!" Then Iblis started being absorbed into the Chaos Emerald, and it shot a beam into Mephiles. Then he started glowing white.
Meanwhile, in the desert temple, Shadow, MC and Maria were putting their rings back on their wrists. Hitch then looked towards the Chaos Emeralds.
"Wait..." Hitch said. "Pinkie, you said that Mephiles had the Purple Chaos Emerald, right?"
"Uh-huh," Pinkie said. "Why?"
"Then where is it?!" Hitch asked. Then they all froze up when the Chaos Emeralds started glowing, blinding the heroes there. Then the blinding light started spreading throughout the land of Soleanna. The light started blinding everyone there. Including Tails, Knuckles, and Amy.
Somewhere, there was a platform with seven walkways with rifts at the end. The platform was similar to the statue at the Festival of the Sun. The Mane 6, Sunny and her friends, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, MC, Maria, Truemen, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Silver, Eggman, Agent Stone, Elise and the corpse of Sonic were all there. Most of them were looking around at where they were.
"What is this?" Tails asked, looking around.
"Where are we? What's going on?" Amy asked.
"Is this because of that light?" Knuckles asked. The group then looked around and saw Silver there with them.
"The Chaos Emeralds... have disappeared," Silver said.
"Silver?!" Amy asked.
Silver saw the group that Amy was there, asking, "What are you doing here? This is all so confusing..."
"It's because of Solaris..." came Rouge's voice. The group looked towards her and saw Rouge, Shadow and Omega standing there.
"Solaris?" Twilight asked. She then looked up, along with the rest of the Mane 6, Sunny and her friends.
"It seems we were all caught by the spatial distortion," came Eggman's voice. They all looked towards him.
"Julien?" Maria asked.
"Iblis's seal has been broken," Eggman said. He then looked towards Sonic and Elise. "Due to Mephiles manipulation." The others also looked towards where he was looking.
"Sonic?" Amy asked. Then they all ran towards him, except for Shadow and Omega.
"No... You don't think..." Tails said.
"Sonic!" Knuckles said in despair.
MC then checked Sonic's pulse. He lowered and shook his head saying, "He's gone." Amy fell onto her knees and started crying. Twilight and Sunny comforted her.
"Mephiles played us all for fools!" Eggman said. "His plan all along was to cause the Princess to be consumed with despair that she'd cry."
So that's why he wanted me to kill Sonic before..." Silver said. Shadow turned away with his arms crossed and his eyes closed. Just then, a roaring sound came from above them and there was a white light. "Solaris!"
"This creature will consume all existing timelines," Eggman said. "And time itself will collapse and disappear into nothingness."
"It's gonna devour the entire multiverse?!" MC asked. "That's not good."
"What do you mean?" Sunny asked.
"If Solaris consumes the multiverse..." MC said.
"Then everyone and everything will cease to exist, and there will be nothing," Eggman said.
"The instability of time caused this time-space rift," Shadow said.
"And it won't remain much longer," Twilight said.
"We've got no time to waste," Knuckles said. "We've got to defeat it now!"
"No, it is a transcendent life form that exists in the past, present and future," Eggman said. "Defeating it here, now, would do nothing."
"No, I won't give up," Silver said, looking up in the sky. "There has to be a way." He then looked at Eggman. "If you say it exists in the past, present and future, I'll destroy them all at once!" Silver then clenched his fist.
"Certainly, it might have been possible, if he was still alive," Shadow said, looking at Silver. He then looked towards Sonic to show who he was talking about.
"Sonic! Sonic!" Amy said, balling her eyes out. Truemen then put his left hand on Amy's shoulder. Everyone there was mourning in their own way. Just then, some wind blew, and Elise could feel something in it.
"Sonic..." Elise said quietly.
Silver noticed it and asked, "What's the matter?"
"I feel... Sonic's presence in the wind," Elise said. "I don't think he's dead yet!" Amy then uncovered her face and everyone was looking at her in shock. "I'm sure of it. It's not too late!"
Silver nodded and said, "Of course! Let's call him back with the power of the Chaos Emeralds!" Everyone then looked at him. "Focus your thoughts on using its power to perform this miracle..." He then ran over to Sonic and Elise. "You can do it, Princess!"
"I can?" Elise asked.
"You were the vessel that was used to seal Iblis," Silver said. "You should be able to use the gems' power to rescue Sonic's soul!"
Elise thought about it, nodded and said, "I'll do it!"
Eggman then brought out a small device and Maria asked, "Julien?"
"Doctor?" Agent Stone asked.
"Solaris flung the Chaos Emeralds to the distant corners of this distorted world," Eggman said.
"To collect them all in time, we'll have to split up!" Tails said.
"I'll go, too! Because it's for Sonic!" Amy said. "So Elise... Watch over him!"
"Twenty-one heroes... seven Emeralds... seven teams of three..." Twilight said. "Everyone get into your groups."
Then they all divided into groups. Twilight was with MC and Shadow. Applejack was with Rouge and Hitch. Rainbow Dash was with Tails and Zipp. Rarity was with Pipp and Amy. Pinkie was with Izzy and Silver. Fluttershy was with Maria and Knuckles. And lastly, Sunny was with Omega and Truemen.
"We all know the plan," MC said. "Get the Emeralds, and meet back here." Then they all headed off in their groups in seven different directions. Then Eggman and Agent Stone looked at each other.
"What are the chances they'll get the Emeralds back in time?" Agent Stone asked.
"Unlikely," Eggman responded. "No doubt that all of them would be sucked into a black hole."
Rainbow Dash, Tails and Zipp ended up in a place that looked like the future version of Soleanna. They all looked around at what was around them.
"This place looks like the future version of Soleanna!" Rainbow Dash said.
"Does that mean...?" Tails asked. Rainbow Dash and Zipp looked at each other and started flapping their wings, which was still allowing them to fly. "Oh, good. You two can still fly." Just then, some black holes opened up near them. Tails was being sucked in, but Rainbow Dash started flying fast, trying to get Tails out of the suction.
"Don't worry, Tails, I got you!" Rainbow Dash said. Zipp then looked over at a statue. The statue's description was of a green orb with a stone eagle above it.
"What does this do?" Zipp asked. She then touched the orb and then the black holes disappeared. "Whoa. Okay, that was awesome."
"No way!" Rainbow Dash said. "You saved us, Zipp!"
Tails then brought up his communicator. "Alright, everyone. Listen up! There's a statue in each of your locations. It's a green orb with a stone eagle on top of it. It'll stop the black holes from sucking you up."
"I see the Chaos Emerald!" Rainbow Dash said. They looked at a skyscraper, seeing the yellow Chaos Emerald there. Then they all started flying towards it. Then they eventually grabbed it.
Over with Sunny, Omega and Truemen, were going through the volcano area of the future. The three of them were evading the lava and the black holes opening up.
"Beware of where you step, you two," Omega said. "Molten lava and black holes everywhere."
"The black holes we can stop with those statues, but the lava, that's another story," Truemen said. "This is like that old game, 'The Floor is Lava.' Ever heard of that game, Sunny?"
"No, not really," Sunny said. "I was too into the stories my father taught me about the legend of Equestria."
"Of course you are from 200 years in the future," Omega said. Then Sunny and Truemen started getting sucked in by a black hole. But Omega fired upon the statue and the black holes disappeared. Just then they reached the Green Chaos Emerald.
Fluttershy, Knuckles and Maria were in the jungle area of Soleanna of the current world they were in. They had obtained the Light Blue Chaos Emerald. Pinkie, Izzy and Silver were in the desert area, and they reached the White Chaos Emerald. Applejack, Hitch and Rouge were running through the beach area, and they reached the Purple Chaos Emerald. Rarity, Pipp and Amy were running through White Acropolis, and they reached the Blue Chaos Emerald. And finally, Twilight, MC and Shadow were going through Kingdom Valley, evading all the dangers of that part.
"This place is getting more and more unstable as we get through it," Shadow said.
Just then, Twilight landed on an unstable piece of ground, and almost fell into a black hole under it. She screamed before being grabbed by MC, who was holding onto the ground near where Twilight fell.
"I got you, Sparkles!" MC said.
"Michael!" Twilight said. "If something happens to me... promise me you'll..."
"No!" MC said. "I'm not gonna lose you! I will not let that future come to pass!"
"Michael..." Twilight sighed sadly. "It's okay. You'll make a good leader of Equestria. I'm sure of it."
"I'm not going to lead Equestria!" MC said. "Not without you! It's not for the ponies or the other creatures of Equestria that I'm concerned about!" Just then, the black hole vanished, leaving Twilight in one piece. Shadow then came back, helping the two up from the cliff side.
"Are you two alright?" Shadow asked. MC and Twilight got up.
"We're fine," MC said.
"What do you mean it's not just about the creatures of Equestria you're not concerned about?" Twilight asked.
"It's more about your kids," MC said. "Spike... Nyx... and Joshua."
"Oh..." Twilight said, her ears drooping. "Right." She then sighed. "Joshua had already lost his parents before he came to Equestria. And Nyx is just..."
"I won't let that happen, Sparkles," MC said. "Kids need their mother. We've got to get the Chaos Emerald and get out of this freaky limbo."
"He's right," Shadow said. "We're gonna need that Chaos Emerald to get out of here."
"Yeah," Twilight said, looking down. She then went wide eyed. "We do need the Emerald. And I'm looking at it right now." Then MC and Shadow looked down off the cliff to see the Red Chaos Emerald.
"Jackpot!" MC said. Then he jumped down, landed on the lower cliff, grabbed the Emerald, and came back up. "Let's get out of here.
Shadow then took the Emerald and said, "Chaos Control!" But nothing happened.
"I don't think that's gonna work here," Twilight said.
"Let's just run!" MC said, picking up Twilight. He then used his Super Speed to carry Twilight out of there. Shadow then sighed and followed with his own Super Speed.
Later, the heroes came back to where they ended up, the seven Chaos Emeralds were around Sonic, and Elise was standing outside the circle, her hands together and near her mouth, as if she was praying.
"Oh Chaos Emeralds, gems of miracles. Please heed my call," Elise said as they started glowing brighter. "I wish to save this world. I wish to cleanse my father's sin. And, I wish to talk to Sonic... once again!" Then the Chaos Emeralds and Sonic's lifeless body started floating. Elise then started walking towards Sonic. "You have given me so many things. Now it is my time to return the favor. I care not what happens to me. But please heed my voice. Sonic, come back! To me... To us!" Elise then kissed Sonic on the lips, and then a bright light appeared where Sonic was. And when the light dimmed down, there was Super Sonic. Elise then fell into Super Sonic's arms from exhaustion.
"Thank you, Elise," Super Sonic said to Elise. Elise then stood back up and Super Sonic looked at the other heroes. "Shadow... Silver... MC... Twilight... and Sunny."
Sunny was surprised that she was picked. MC and Twilight grabbed Sunny and brought her towards Super Sonic.
"What's going on?" Sunny asked. "What are we doing?"
"Oh, relax," MC said. "Future me saw something in you that I don't know yet, but I'm sure that you're able to perform miracles." Twilight looked at MC with a smile.
"Hold out your hands towards the left and right," Twilight said. Then the five of them did. Going clockwise, it was Silver, MC, Sunny, Twilight, Shadow and Super Sonic. Super Sonic was transferring power from him and the Chaos Emeralds to the others. The five of them transformed. Shadow, Twilight, and MC became their super forms, Silver also transformed in a similar way to Sonic and Shadow, and Sunny, she gained ethereal wings and a horn, her mane gained red, yellow and blue streaks, and her cutie mark appeared over her arms and legs.
"Let's do this!" Twilight said. The other super heroes then nodded and they started flew straight up towards the white light in the sky above, their friends cheering them on.
The six heroes flew up into the white light to see Solaris in a monstrous form.
"Sweet lord!" Maximum MC said. "It's bigger than I thought it was gonna be!"
"What are we gonna do?!" Twilight asked.
"We better do some different attacks!" Super Sonic said. "Twilight, you and Silver use your telekinetic abilities to throw debris at him. Shadow, Sunny, you two have energy attacks. Use them to attack Solaris. MC, you and I have a very strong head on attacks."
"Once Solaris's defenses are lowered, we'll take him on, and take him down," Maximum MC said, smirking. "Let's do this!" Then they all spread out, surrounding Solaris. Solaris then started throwing debris at the heroes. Twilight then used her magic to grab the debris and threw them back.
Solaris tried blocking the attacks with the armor on its left arm, but the armor was getting damaged from the attacks. Eventually, the armor broke off. Solaris then focused its attacks on Sunny. She was evading the attacks.
"Guys!" Sunny said. "I'm not used to this power! How am I supposed to use these powers?!"
"Focus your power through your ethereal horn and your arms!" Twilight called out. "That'll make you fire those energy attacks!" Sunny then closed her eyes, and energy started coming out of her horn and arm. She then launched orange blasts towards Solaris. Solaris tried blocking the attacks, but the attacks pierced through the armor.
"It worked!" Sunny said. She then fired more attacks, and they pierced the armor again. And last blast, she destroyed the armor. "Alright! I got through it!"
"Okay, my turn!" Maximum MC said. "Time to take down this beast!" Maximum MC charged at Solaris, making contact with the core of Solaris. Solaris tried blocking the attack with both arms, but MC was too fast. He then started flying circles around Solaris, going clockwise. Solaris tried hitting Maximum MC, but the fox charged again, hitting Solaris's core. It let out a roar and tried getting Maximum MC but he was too fast. Maximum MC then charged one last time, calling out, "Chaos Dragon Fist!" After Solaris got hit, it started falling.
"Is it over?" Super Silver asked.
"No... it's not over yet," Super Shadow said. Just then, Solaris came back up, in a different form.
"I guess it's not gonna be that easy," Super Sonic said before Solaris roared.
"Everyone! Focus your attacks on the core!" Maximum MC said. "I sense its consciousness coming from the core!" Then they all started flying around Solaris, clockwise.
"Focus all your power on one point!" Twilight said to the others, who all nodded. Twilight led the group, evading Solaris's attacks, and then they all charged together, heading towards Solaris.
"I'll take the lead!" Maximum MC said, going in front. He used his claws to destroy the debris coming for them.
"Now!" Super Shadow said. Then they all hit Solaris's core, and it started exploding. The heroes from where they ended up earlier saw it and started celebrating the victory.
"Well, how about that," Hitch said. "Sunny was right. Her father was right." Then Twilight, Sunny, Super Sonic, Super Shadow, Super Silver and Maximum MC returned to the group. Then the exploding Solaris started imploding, turning into a sample white flame. And everything around it went black.
Twilight, Sonic, Shadow, Silver, MC, Sunny and Elise were floating in an abyss. They looked around.
"Did you all destroy it?" Elise asked.
"No," Sonic said, seeing a white light. The group looked towards the light.
"That must be the true Solaris," Twilight said. They all were being sucked towards the white light and everything went black again.
Then it showed some sort of shrine with a white flame, with a young Elise and her father standing in front of the shrine that held the flame. The color was different, as if looking at it as if it were a western movie.
"Look, Elise," the Duke said. "This is Solaris, the flame of hope."
"It's so beautiful..." young Elise said.
"When the flame has grown large enough, our world will change," the Duke said. "Solaris will allow us to control time and move through history. People will be able to rectify past mistakes and avoid bitter fate."
"Will we be able to see momma?" young Elise asked.
"Yes, Elise," the Duke answered. "We'll both be able to see your mother once again." Then they started walking away. But young Elise looked back at the flame. The Duke then looked back at his daughter, then back at the flame. Then he and young Elise looked back at each other, nodded, and headed out of there. Then the colors started changing back to normal.
Twilight, Sonic, Shadow, Silver, MC, Sunny and Elise walked into the room, seeing the flame.
"This is where everything began," Elise said. "Who knew such a tiny flame could bring such devastation?" Then she opens up the case and takes the white flame with its candle holder. "If we put out this flame, Solaris will never exist. And then we'll never have to worry about the Flames of Disaster, right?" The others nodded. "But our encounter..." She then faced the six heroes. "I wouldn't have met any of you. It will never have happened."
"It'll be okay, Elise," MC said. "We'll be fine."
"I... To tell the truth..." Elise said. She then shed a single tear. "I don't care what happens to the world!" Then Twilight and Sunny walked up to Elise and hugged her.
"Elise," Sonic said. "Just smile." Elise looked down at Sonic, and gave a faint smile. Elise then softly blew out the white flame. And the world around them went black.
It then went back to the night of the Festival of the Sun. The fireworks were going off, the people were cheering, and Elise was waving to the people.
Sonic was running on the side of the canal, trying to make it to the Festival. He even ran through crowds, spooking them. The wind Sonic was creating spooked Elise.
"Miss Elise?" one of Elise's ladies in waiting asked.
"It felt like... like someone was calling me," Elise responded.
"I'm sure it's just the wind," the lady in waiting responded.
"Of course. But it felt so familiar somehow..." Elise said.
From atop a building, the Mane 6, Sunny and her friends, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, MC, Amy, Truemen, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Maria, Silver and Blaze, who came back from the afterlife, were all looking down at the Princess.
"How are we still here?" Sunny asked.
"When Elise blew out the flame, reality rewrote itself around just us," MC said. "Elise has no memory of what happened in the other reality."
"And for those who died within that reality, it never happened," Silver said. He then looked at Blaze, who smiled.
"So, I guess we're stuck back here," Sunny said. "We should... try to find a place to stay."
"Yeah," Silver said. "We have no idea where we're going to stay."
"Well... we did create some guest houses on our property," MC said. "Increased price, yes, but it was worth it. You guys can stay there as long as you want."
"That would be nice," Hitch said. He then sighed. "Although, it's gonna be hard for us to fit in since we're from the future and there are no records on us."
"We can call the president of the United States to get you all officially registered," Rouge said. "It worked with Shadow and Maria."
"It wasn't easy, but we're registered," Maria said.
"Alright, everyone," MC said. "Let's get out of here." MC then used his Super Warp Ring to open a portal out of there. He then looked at Truemen and asked, "You've got some place to be?"
"Well, I've been living in the Oracle's secret land for the last few months," Truemen said. "I've been sent here to help you out. Now that it's all over... I'm on my own." He then started walking away from the group. MC and Twilight looked at each other with a smirk.
"Where do you think you're going, fellow Freedom Fighter?" MC asked. Truemen stopped in shock. He then turned around and looked at the group. "You could use a new home." He then held out his left hand. Truemen then used his left hand and shook it. Then they all headed through the portal. But Sonic looked back out at the feathers from Elise's hair that came in, and started floating towards the moon. Sonic looked at the moon with a smile as the picture started fading to black.
