Sonic and Tails began to descend from the sky and headed towards the ground, it was bumpy but it still made for a slow descent.
“Alright, I’m gonna go find the animals Eggman dropped. You go find a safe place to land.” Sonic told the fox who nodded before he jumped off the plane and began running through the field, there seemed to be a looped path along the way, but thanks to his special running power, he was able to run through that pretty easily.
He soon came across some Badniks, aka ladybug robots that Eggman usually made, on the field and stomped on them to free the animals inside, they were a miniature little chicken, pig, and penguin.
They ran off gratefully as Sonic continued trekking along the field.
Meanwhile Twilight, Spike, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Starlight all landed at the fresh green plains of the Lost Hex.
“Ah.” Spike sighed in relaxation, “What a view.”
“Yeah. Well don’t get too comfortable buddy.” Rainbow Dash scoffed with a smirk, “We still have to explore this place.”
“Well obviously but it was a bit of a long flight, amirite?” Spike asked with a carefree grin.
Suddenly a shadow passed them and as they looked, they saw Tails landing his helicopter on the ground with a huff.
“Phew. Finally made it.” Tails smiled in relief before noticing the group of five staring at him.
“Huh. Now I’ve seen everything.” Tails raised an eyebrow in interest.
“Hi.” Twilight greeted kindly, “I’m Twilight Sparkle. I’m an alicorn from my home planet. My friends are two pegasi, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, a unicorn named Starlight Glimmer, and a dragon named Spike. If you couldn’t tell, we aren’t from here.”
“I kinda figured that to be honest.” Tails chuckled, “I’m not from here either. My name’s Tails The Fox, I’m just waiting on my friend Sonic. He’s a bit busy.”
“Busy? With what?” Starlight asked curiously.
“He’s busy trying to save some animals. I think I should explain what happened so this makes sense.” Tails began speaking
Soon Sonic began jumping across some gaps on the ground and continued running across the field, he soon spotted the animal capsule a few miles away and soon he jumped on the yellow button on top and the tiny animals were released much to Sonic’s pride.
He soon heard some talking from ahead and saw Tails was talking with four colorful ponies and a miniature purple dragon.
“Wait? So this Eggman seriously uses animals for labor?” Rainbow Dash asked in shock.
“That’s horrible!” Fluttershy cried out in horror, being the most in tune with animals, she was the most hurt by this action.
“Yeah, no kidding. I’m so sorry you have to deal with that guy.” Twilight apologized sympathetically.
“It’s fine. He’s not too much of a hassle to deal with after a while. At this point, our rivalry feels less heated.” Tails says reassuringly.
“Hmm, that’s a strange way to go about it, usually when we deal with villains, our rivalries are usually just as heated or they redeem themselves like Starlight here.” Spike points out, earning him a light bonk on the back of his head from Twilight.
“Wait. You were evil at one point?” Tails asked in confusion, not really fearful, but shocked.
“Yeah… let’s just say I did some not so great things in the past due to feeling like the world was cruel and backwards but once Twilight opened up to me, my life changed for the better.” Starlight smiles at the alicorn who smiles back.
Sonic soon walks over and looks at Tails in confusion, “Uh Tails… who are these creatures? I don’t think we’ve ever seen them before.”
“Oh sorry Sonic, this is Twilight, Starlight, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Spike.” Tails told his blue buddy.
“I see.” Sonic raised an eyebrow, “What are you five doing here? Do you work for Eggman?” He asked suspiciously.
“We don’t, we swear, I could never use animals for robots like that.” Fluttershy said defensively.
“We actually come from our own hometown known as Equestria. We found this planet and decided to take a look.” Twilight explained formally.
“That would explain why I’ve never seen you before.” Sonic admits with a shrug, “You’re not really gonna find anything besides animals here though. There don’t seem to be many inhabitants here besides Eggman.”
“Oh… so should we go then?” Spike asked sheepishly.
“Not particularly.” Twilight said with a hoof to her chin before smiling, “Maybe we could help you out on trying to stop Eggman.”
“Wait. You’d help us with the Egghead?” Sonic asked curiously.
“Well yeah, we’re usually used to stopping villains all the time. And besides some robots, he doesn’t sound TOO threatening.” Rainbow Dash admits with a smirk.
“I wouldn’t underestimate him if I were you. Eggman’s annoying but he’s still a bit smart.” Sonic warned the five creatures before smiling, “That being said, so long as you can handle it, I’d be down to defeat Eggman quicker than usual.”
“So we have an agreement then?” Twilight asks happily.
“No problem.” Sonic shook Twilight’s hoof with a grin.
Suddenly Tails’ iPad began ringing and soon he handed it to Sonic.
“I think it’s for you.” Tails told the hedgehog who grabbed the iPad, “Alright. You five keep quiet. My friend Amy’s calling.”
Soon Sonic saw Amy and Knuckles back at their home world on the grassy plains as Amy began speaking, “Sonic? Have you gotten the animals back from Eggman?”
Sonic soon spoke up, “Uh… just the one he tossed off his egg mobile.”
Both seemed shocked at this as Knuckles spoke up, “Just the one! Weak. I could have rescued them all by now.”
“He’s all yours Rainbow.” Spike smirked teasingly before he and Starlight snickered as the rainbow haired pegasus glared at the giggling duo.
“Save the rest of them. I’d hate to think what Eggman’s doing to those poor guys.” Amy said sympathetically.
“I’m on it.” Sonic gave a thumbs up as he hung up the call and turned to Twilight and her friends.
“Okay, let’s leave Tails to fix the plane. We should probably start stopping Eggman.” Sonic told the group.
“Right. Let’s go everyone.” Twilight said in determination and soon Sonic left with a flash, and ran pretty quickly much to Twilight, Fluttershy, Spike, and Starlight’s shock and Rainbow Dash’s awe before he ran back over, “Oh yeah. Forgot to mention my speed.”
We then see Eggman in a dimly lit room as claw machines began putting small animals into Badniks.
“Transformation 101, Bunnies to Badniks. Boom!” Eggman spoke to a shadowy figure, “Instant army! It needs to be a big army if I want to take over my world below.”
This figure turned out to be a muscly red headed monster with black horns and cyan bushy eyebrows. He was known as Zavok.
“You are quite the mighty conqueror.” Zavok rolled his eyes.
“Yes, yes I am. I conquered you, didn't I? And with your help, I won't only rule the world, I'll finally destroy that blue nuisance, Sonic!” Eggman smirked and soon Zavok walked over to some other shadowy figures, though one of them wasn’t. He was a long and skinny purple monster, he had a long jaw and purple horns, he also had spiky purple hair.
“Eggman seems to want a little hedgehog destroyed.” Zavok says in thought.
“Yeah, well… I feel like destroying something!” Zazz smirks crazily.
“That's what I like about you, Zazz. Always ready for a fight, even before you know what your fighting.” Zavok smirks at his ally as Zazz begins to make fighting motions, “Yeah! Bring it on and I’ll rip it up!”
Zazz soon runs out of the room happily and kicks the air, “Win or lose. I’ll learn something about our enemy.” Zavok puts a finger to his chin.
