The great and powerful Trixie was hiding in the bushes with a binocular held up to her eyes by her own magic. She was stalking Twilight in the market where she was buying some materials for... Something. Then suddenly Twilight started moving. As did Trixie.
Twilight picked up a bouquet of flowers and smelled them. "excuse me" said twilight to the shop owner. "how much are these?" she asked. "oh about five or ten, depending on how many you're getting" said the shop owner. "I'll take ten!" said Twilight. "oh my, that's a lot! Is there someone... special you're going to give these to?" asked the shop owner slyly. "n-no! I'm just... H-having a party is all!! Hehe yeah! No one special or anything! Hehe it's not like I was going to give all these to the most amazing mare of all equestria!!" Twilights cheeks had gone pink.
The shop owner only looked at her with a sly smile. "oh! Just take the money and give me those!" Twilight said as she dropped the money on the counter and picked up the flowers with her magic. "have fun with your special friend tonight! And remember! Wear protection!!" yelled out the shop owner waving goodbye. Twilight's cheeks went from pink to hot red, as she just realized that the shop owner just yelled that out in the middle of the street. Everypony started looking at her and started whispering. Twilight quickly fled the scene, embarrassed as hay.
Trixie stood there. The binoculars fell to the ground revealing an extremely wide eyed open mouthed Trixie. So many things were going through her head right now. Who or what were this flowers for? What could Twilight possibly need protection from? What kind of protection? Who was this special friend? If Twilight was doing something with her "special friend" then could trixie join along like a threesome? A crooked smile swept across Trixie's face at the thought of it. Her Twilight and somepony else coming together. But who was the special friend?!
Trixie pondered at this and tried to expirament who could be Twilight's special friend. Could it be that rainbow maned one? Trixie thought about it. But why would Twilight pick a sporty, athletic Pegasus if she was a book loving, gentle unicorn? Perhaps twilight thought she was attractive? Trixie had to admit though that even she thought rainbow dash was a little attractive. No it can't be the rainbow maned one. What about the unicorn that's always prissy and fancy? Why would twilight choose her? What about the Pegasus that's usually very quiet? Or the one who always wears that hat? What about that pink one?
Trixie couldn't wrap her finger around it. It just didn't seem like Twilight would have a "special" friend. Trixie paused for a moment and wondered hmm what if... Trixie repressed the thought. that's ridiculous! Why would Twilight have a crush on me? I lied to her! And nearly got her mauled by an ursa minor. Oh! Why must I tax my brain?! Maybe if I follow her more closely I can find out more about who this "special" friend could be Trixie liked the idea. And so she went through with it until all hay went loose.
Applejack and fluttershy were tired. They had went through the entire forest and found no cave of any kind. "aw darn it! If only Trixie could've told us where she put her li'l cave before we ran off we could've already found it by now!" Applejack screamed. "I-I'm sure w-we'll find it..." said Fluttershy trying to comfort Applejack. Applejack just sighed and stumbled down in exhaustion, as did Fluttershy. Suddenly applejack looked up and sniffed the air. "Flutters? Do y'all smell that?" asked Applejack. Fluttershy sniffed the air as well. "ew what is that? Animal droppings?" asked Fluttershy. "no... It's..." applejack sniffed the air again. "coal?" and then applejack remembered the little campfire ghost story thing they had the night before. "c'mon Flutters I know where to go!" said Applejack zooming away with the apples. "w-waaaiit!!" said Fluttershy frantically trying to catch up. Applejack quickly made her way through the trees, dodging every tree and making every sharp turn, whereas Fluttershy kept bumping into things and crashing into trees.
When they finally got there Applejack realized that Fluttershy was Reeling back and forth dazed from the wild ride. "hey, this is the place where we told ghost stories last night" said Fluttershy. She had identified it with the pile of burnt wood on the ground. "and this is also where trixie showed up and as I recall she crashed into twilight, who was sitting to my left. So all we have to do is find her cave which can't be too far" it was then that they noticed hoof prints. Applejack smiled "all too easy" she said as she and Fluttershy started following the trail.
The trail had led them to a nearby pond where it looked like Trixie was trying to catch a fish considering she had left her poorly made fishing tools. The next destination was a field with little bushes with some kind of berries on them. The trail was extremely long and annoying. In some cases they even ended up to a place where they already were at before. It took them nearly three and a half painful hours of searching until they finally found Trixie's cave.
Applejack stumbled to the ground panting and drenched in her own sweat, while Fluttershy gracefully landed on the ground with ease and without a single sweat. "h-how... ?" asked applejack. "I went up above the forest trees while you were busy running around and looked for the cave. Why? You didn't notice I was gone?" Applejack gave out a long, irritated sigh. "no..." she said flopping down ready for a nap, but the sound of Fluttershy's hooves clopping on the hard rocky surface made it hard for applejack. Fluttershy looked around and figured that she'd do something nice for Trixie. Fluttershy was going to improve Trixie's bed. Fluttershy looked at Applejack who was fast asleep snoring, and took to the sky heading down to rarity's place. To get some materials.
Applejack woke up to the sound of a hammer hitting wood. "huh?" she looked around and found that it was already night time, a fire was set in the middle of the cave, and Fluttershy was in the corner trying to hammer two pieces of wood together. "umm what're you doin there darlin'?" she asked. "I'm trying to make a bed for Trixie so that she can get better sleep at night but it just won't work!" she said. "oh I'm so frustrated I could scream!" Fluttershy gave out a small scream. "here let me help you" said Applejack. Applejack's help proved to be a good improvement and the end results were fantastic! "thank you Applejack! Oh I hope Trixie will like it... I got the fabric and stuffing from rarity's place" said Fluttershy. "she better cause I just put an entire hour of time into that bed" said Applejack.
Applejack and Fluttershy walked around the cave exploring every part of it. That's when they noticed something strange. There was a portrait of Twilight sparkle on the wall along with some creepy poems, weird photos, a bottle of lotion and a stack of playmare magazine. All color left both of their faces. "oh... My..." said Fluttershy. "Trixie... Has a crush... On twilight... ?" said Applejack slowly. "I'm gonna go tell Twilight. Said Applejack heading for the exit until Fluttershy stopped her. "Applejack wait! This is very sensitive information and we don't know how this could affect both Trixie and Twilight!" "hmm you're right... Plus you know how dramatic Trixie could be when things don't go her way" said Applejack. "I'm guessing that we have ourselves a dirty little secret?" said applejack as she and Fluttershy left the cave and made their way back to ponyville.
