Coma part 3

Sunset
“Sunset,” said a voice. Flash? I wanted to reply, but I couldn’t. It was like my mouth had been taped shut. I tried to lift my arms, but they felt so heavy, that they refused to move.

I tried to open my eyes, but my eyes wouldn’t open.

It was strange; nothing was working, apart from my ears.

“Sunset...” said a voice. My ears kept making weird noises.
“Sunset, can you hear us?” asked another voice.

I heard someone sobbing. “She’s never gonna wake up!” wailed another voice.
“She will,” said a familiar country voice.

I had to do something. Even if I was in a coma, I wanted to help. I wanted to prove I was alive and hear everything they were saying.

I heard footsteps walk away. I wanted to reach out, tell them not to go, not to leave me here. I tried to tell them. I couldn’t.

Would I ever wake up? Could I? Could I wake up in time for the play?
