The Solaris Saga (Part 1):


The Flames of Disaster






The episode starts out in a small country somewhere in the world. This country is known as Soleanna. And in the center of the main village of Soleanna, fireworks were going off as a boat was heading towards a platform with a cauldron and walking towards it that was connected to a statue. There were some hooded figures surrounding the ruler of the kingdom, Princess Elise. One of the hooded figures faced Elise with a torch in hand. She was looking into the flames and saw something.



What she saw was of a creature over some destroyed buildings that were on fire, and as the creature roared, one of the hooded figures brought Elise back to reality.

"Miss Elise," the hooded figure said. It was a woman's voice.

"It's... It's all right," Princess Elise said. There were some men standing in front of her. One of them was a bishop. She then spoke in front of the statue. "We give thanks for the blessed flames. May we always continue to have peace. Sun of Soleanna, guide and watch over us with your eternal light..."

Elise then lit the cauldron in front of her, which the flames spread throughout the statue, and lighting the even bigger cauldron on top. That was when more fireworks started up. But fireworks weren't the only things going off that night. Missiles came from a certain angle, attacking the statue, scaring the princess. Then something flew overhead.



The flying vessel then dropped a bunch of robots, surrounding the princess and everyone that was on the platform. Then Elise saw something descending. It was some kind of transport, with a familiar mustached scientist bowing to her.

"A pleasure to meet you at last, Princess of Soleanna. I am Dr. Eggman. I've come here to obtain the secret of the Flames of Disaster from you. And take the miracle gems that are the keys to its secret... the Chaos Emerald! Now princess, this way please." As Eggman was speaking, Princess Elise was carrying something in her hand, and held it close to her chest.



Eggman gestured to Elise to come onto the transport, but then the wind started picking up. A whirlwind appeared, but then the wind stopped as a certain hedgehog appeared on a torch on the statue.

"My... That's a pretty snazzy performance there," Sonic the Hedgehog said.

Elise looked up at the hedgehog, almost seeing a completely different hedgehog in his place. She then said, "You... It can't be!"

Sonic smirked and then the Mane 6 appeared, protecting the people on the platform from the robots, and taking them down as well.

"You were right, MC!" Twilight said. "Eggman would go after the Princess of Soleanna!" Elise looked towards the Mane 6 and then she saw a vision of four mares, two pegasi, one unicorn, and an earth pony with an ethereal horn and wings, and a stallion with a shoulder belt with a sheriff's badge on it.

"What?" Elise asked. Just then, she was picked up by Sonic.

"I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog!" he said as he scooped Elise off her feet. He then started running away from the fight, the Mane 6 following him. But as they were running, they did not go unnoticed. A white hedgehog was staring atop a building, seeing the hedgehog and the six ponies running away from the fight, taking the princess of that country with them.

"I finally found him... the Iblis Trigger!" the white hedgehog said, tightening his fist.








200 years in the future, in a post-apocalyptic city, the same white hedgehog was hovering over the flaming streets, him surrounded by a light blue aura, similar to unicorn magic. As he was hovering, his voice was doing some narration.

"This world was devastated before I was born. A harsh, bleak place, where we live in eternal darkness. Life is a struggle, and people live without hope. How did this happen? No one will answer me directly. But they always point... to the flames." Just then, a huge burst of flames appeared in front of him, blocking his path. He then used his power to blow the flames away. "These flames. They burn away at my world destroying everything in their path. They come from an eternal life form we cannot truly defeat. The Flames of Disaster known as Iblis."

"Silver!" came a new voice. It was the voice of a female. The white hedgehog, now known as Silver the Hedgehog, looked towards where the voice came from, and saw a purple cat girl hopping from rooftop to rooftop coming closer to him.

"Blaze, what's wrong?" Silver asked.

"He's appeared again!" the cat girl, now known as Blaze, said, pointing towards a certain part of the burning city. Silver looked towards the direction where Blaze was pointing with an angry scowl. Silver then flew in that direction, Blaze following by jumping from building to building.

Eventually, the two made it to the part of the city, where the creature from Elise's vision appeared in front of them. It roared towards the two, increasing the heat around them.

Silver groaned and called out, "Come on, you monster!" The monster, known as Iblis, roared and a bunch of molten rocks came out of his mouth. Silver caught them with his power and threw them back towards Iblis. Eventually, Iblis roared in pain, heading down to the pit below.

"Looks like we stopped it for now," Blaze said, her arms crossed.

"But it'll just rise up from its ashes again," Silver said before pounding his left fist on a nearby wall. "What's the point of all this? It'll never end."

"Calm down, Silver," Blaze said to the hedgehog.

"Then tell me what we should do," Silver said, disappointingly. "How can we completely destroy Iblis?" The two of them started thinking of a plan. But then a new voice appeared.

"...By knowing the truth of course." Silver and Blaze looked up to see where the voice came from, and a figure was standing there.



"Just as a flower comes from a seed, or a chicken comes from an egg, everything has an origin. You need to find the being originally responsible for this catastrophe." He was raising his fists as he was speaking that last sentence.

"Is that really the answer to our problem?" Silver asked. He then pointed at the figure and said, "Tell me, do you know who it is?"

They later appeared in an office building, where the mysterious figure was leading the two towards a computer.

"To fix this present timeline, you need to change the past," the Shadow look-a-like said. 

"But that's impossible," Silver said.

"With my help, you can," the figure said before turning around. "Because I have the power to travel through time!"

"No way!" Silver said, shocked.

"In order to change the past, you must eliminate the individual who has awakened Iblis," the figure said. "The Iblis Trigger.

Silver and Blaze started pondering about it, Blaze stepping closer to Silver. Silver then said, "If I eliminate that guy, will our world be saved?"

The figure nodded and said, "The Day of Disaster... Here are my records of this event. This was when Iblis was freed and his flames were released into the world." He then pressed some buttons on the computer, showing what has happened in the past. "And you have this person to blame." He then handed Silver something.



Silver looked into it and he saw Sonic standing in the flames. He then said, "I see it! So, that blue hedgehog's the Iblis Trigger?" Blaze looked at Silver and the Chaos Emerald.

"Blue hedgehog..." Blaze pondered. She then shook her head and said, "No. It couldn't be..."

Silver then handed the Chaos Emerald back to the figure. The figure then said, "I'll send us back in time to the point when the Iblis Trigger was alive." He then produced a sphere of purple energy, enlarging and sending the three of them through time.

It then went to a moment before the Festival of the Sun. Somewhere in a nearby forest, Silver appeared from a rip in time, landing there. He then looked around at the surrounding forest.

"Where am I?" Silver asked. He then looked towards where he thought Blaze was standing, only to find out he was alone. "Blaze? Blaze!" He then sighed. "I guess we all got separated." He then looked at the forest he was in. "This is so unbelievable." He then saw a path in front of him. He then raised his hand and clenched it as he said, "Now I must fight for the future!"

Meanwhile, in another part of Soleanna, near a beach, Blaze was standing in the middle of a circle of cabanas. She then headed towards one.

"So this is the past..." Blaze said. She then put her hands on her hips. "I hope Silver is okay. He's pretty insecure when he's all alone." She then looked around. She then closed her eyes and said, "The Iblis Trigger. Blue hedgehog... Could it be...?" She then saw a path leading away from the cabanas. She then decided to take that path to start her journey in the past.








After the attack during the Festival of the Sun, the Mane 6 and Sonic were taking Princess Elise away from the fight, trying to protect her.

"Umm... why are you helping me?" Elise asked.

"No special reason," Sonic said. He then jumped over a canal, the Mane 6 following. Just then, a bunch of robots blocked his path.

"Sonic!" Elise said.

"Don't worry, Princess Elise," Twilight said. "We'll protect you!" Then Sonic and the Mane 6 started taking down the robots. Fluttershy on the other hand was escorting Elise away from the fight, but was ambushed by Eggman.

"Oof!" Fluttershy said, being knocked down. Eggman's transport had arms, which grabbed Elise, and it flew up into the sky.

"I'm afraid our little game ends now," Eggman said, taking the princess. Rainbow Dash tried flying up to the transport, but she was blown away by a barrier. Elise then got her arm free and tossed the Chaos Emerald to Sonic.

"Sonic, take this!" Elise said as she was throwing the Chaos Emerald.

"I've got it!" Sonic called out. "And don't worry! We'll rescue you!"

"I know," Elise said.

Eggman scoffed and said, "It's only a matter of time before it's mine." Just then, the Egg Carrier came over their heads. "Until then, you can hold onto it for me!" Eggman's transport was carrying both of them up to the Egg Carrier. As soon as the transport entered through a doorway on the bottom of the Egg Carrier, the Egg Carrier started flying to a distant location, Sonic and the Mane 6 watching as it was flying away.

In the distance, Silver was watching the seven heroes from atop a building. He then jumped down to the ground to try and pursue him, but someone got in his way. A certain pink hedgehog came in.

"There you are, Sonic!" Amy said as she came in and hugged Silver, thinking he was Sonic.

"Hey!" Silver said during the intrusive hug.

"It's about time I finally caught up with you again!" Amy said. Just then, she got a good look at Silver and saw that he wasn't Sonic. "Hey! You're not Sonic!" She then slapped him. She then embarrassingly said, "Um... I'm sorry!"

Silver has been trying to recover after the slap as Amy buries her face in her hands. He then said, "Ah, I'm..." He then noticed that Sonic and the Mane 6 were gone. "Huh? Hey, where'd he go?" He then looked around. "He and his group must've run off!"

"I'm sorry," Amy said, walking closer to Silver. "Did you miss someone because of me?"

"Ah... it's okay," Silver said, closing his eyes bowing and shaking his head. He then turned his head to look at Amy and said, "I'm sure the guy I'm looking for is still on the island. I'm sure I can find him." He extended his arm towards Amy.

"Well then I'll help you," Amy said, grabbing Silver's arm.

"What?" Silver asked.

"Two heads are better than one when looking for someone!"Amy said.

"Hey, just wait a second," Silver tried to protest, but Amy got closer to his face.

"What's your name?" Amy asked.

Silver paused for a moment before answering. "Silver."

"That's a nice name," Amy said. "I'm Amy Rose, one of the Freedom Fighters. It's nice to meet you!" She then pulled Silver in a direction.

"Ah... Hey, wait!" Silver protested as he was being pulled away.

Meanwhile, on another part of the island, somewhere where it was snowing, Shadow was heading towards a base that had Eggman's robots. The robots then fired upon seeing Shadow, but he dodged them all, destroying them in his path. He then jumped on one robot and jumped off it to get over the tall metal gate. After he made it, the robots exploded. A spotlight was then coming in and Shadow hid from it as his communicator beeped. He then looked towards it.

"Transmission from HQ. There's an SOS coming from Dr. Eggman's Base. Our last communication with our agent was 26 hours ago. We expect an immediate rescue, Shadow the Hedgehog."

"Understood," Shadow said before shutting off his communicator. "Initiating the mission now." He then used Chaos Control to teleport to a different location. He then made it to a part of the base, to see Rouge beating up a bunch of robots and holding something in her hands.



"Rouge!" Shadow called out.

"Shadow!" Rouge said, noticing that Shadow was there. "I'm glad you're here!" Shadow then vanished. "Or, maybe not." Just then, all the robots surrounding Rouge were destroyed. Rouge looked around at all of the commotion. Shadow then reappeared in front of her.

"Let's go," Shadow said, walking away. Rouge then followed him.

"Don't you want to know what this is?" Rouge asked.

"My assignment was to rescue you, nothing more," Shadow said.

"Fine. With you it's always business," Rouge said. Just then she thought of something. "Or is it that you have a date with a certain old friend of yours?" That made Shadow blush. Just then, some more robots came in, blocking their path. "It seems they don't want us to leave."

Shadow grunted and said, "Let's get this over with." He then got into battle position. He then destroyed the robots that were in front of him, and then he used Chaos Control to take him and Rouge to a safer location. Where coincidentally, Maria Robotnik was waiting for them.

"Hey, guys," Maria said.

"Maria?" Rouge asked. "What are you doing here?"

"I've asked Maria to help me find the location of Eggman's bases that are located here," Shadow said. "Thank you, Maria." Then the two of them walked up to each other and the two hugged and kissed each other.

Rouge smiled at the two. Then she noticed the map on the nearby computer. She then said, "Ah, Soleanna, the city of water. It has a constitutional monarchy, you know. The primary industries are tourism and crafting precision machinery." Shadow and Maria then walked over towards a painting of Princess Elise. "The current sovereign is Princess Elise III."

"Why does Eggman's base lead to an odd place like this?" Shadow asked.

"How should I know?" Rouge asked before pulling out what she had taken from the base. "I just followed my orders and retrieved the item. Anyway, I have a little favor to ask of you. Can you escort me to the GUN rendezvous point?"

"Where's the rendezvous point?" Shadow asked.

"According to this map, GUN wants to meet Rouge at the old ruined castle in Kingdom Valley," Maria said. "I'd go with you, but I'd promise MC that I'd help him watch the Crusaders."

"Alright," Shadow said. "Go do what you've gotta do."








The next morning, around the area where the Princess was taken, Sonic and the Mane 6 were heading down a path, where they met up with Tails.

"Sonic! Girls!" Tails said as he was coming up to them.

"Hey, Tails," Twilight said. "Haven't seen you in a while."

"Yeah, last time we saw ya, you were helpin' Lynol with repairing the city since the whole alien invasion crisis," Applejack said.

"Yeah, but Lynol and I had set up construction drones to help with repairing the damages," Tails said. "But he could take it from there. Anyway, I heard you guys tried to save the Princess."

"Oh, yeah," Pinkie said. "But then we were ambushed by robots and during the commotion Eggman grabbed Princess Elise and we're trying to find her as we speak."

"Well, let me help," Tails said. "I may not know what Eggman's up to, but it can't be a good thing!"

"Actually, he could be useful when it comes to tech," Rainbow Dash said.

"Okay," Sonic said. "With your help, this should be a piece of cake." Then the eight of them started going off in one direction.

"I'll do my best," Tails said as the eight of them were heading off somewhere. Basically, they saw the Egg Carrier heading towards the beach area. Then they headed over towards the beach to see if Eggman's base was there. But they saw that the Egg Carrier was moving in another direction. Just then, a white feather came falling down, landing in front of Sonic.

Rarity inspected the feather and said, "It seems it's a feather from the dress that Princess Elise was wearing."

"It looks like the Princess was moved to another location," Tails said. "Let's head back to the city. Maybe MC knows where we can find Eggman's base."

"No need," came MC's voice from Sonic's communicator. "I already know where Eggman is taking the Princess. He's set up a small base in the desert area. If you head there now, you can make it."

"Thanks, MC," Sonic said. "Alright, let's go!" Then all of them headed off towards the desert. They all headed towards the desert from that area.

Hours had passed and in the desert area, Elise was sitting in an old room, thinking about her deceased father. One of the final things said to her.

"You're a good girl, Elise. Remember, be brave. Don't cry no matter what happens."

Just then, the nearby wall was broken in, revealing the Mane 6, Sonic and Tails.

"You've all come," Princess Elise said.

"Of course we have," Twilight said. "Us Princesses have countries to lead." Just then, there was the sound of someone clapping. The group looked towards who was clapping and saw Eggman standing next to a cage with a giant robot dog behind the bars.

"It looks like some pesky rats have stuck their noses where they don't belong," Eggman said. "Well, a hedgehog and six magical ponies to be more precise. The Princess of Soleanna is mine until I unlock the secret of the Flames of Disaster."

"Not today," Twilight said.

"Tails!" Sonic said.

"Got it! Let's go!" Tails said as all eight got into battle position. Just then, the giant robot dog broke out of the cage and tried attacking the group, but Twilight teleported the group out of there. They ended up outside, but that's when the robot dog charged through the wall, it was roaring as it was coming out.



It then charged at the heroes, but Twilight lifted Sonic as he was spinning and threw him towards the head of the robot, going across its spine, damaging it, and eventually, getting destroyed.

"We've got company!" Fluttershy said, pointing into the sky. They saw a bunch of robots flying closer to them.

"How long is this gonna go on?" Sonic asked.

"Let's split up," Tails said. "I'll get their attention, and you guys take the Princess."

Sonic nodded towards Tails and Twilight said, "You be careful, Tails."

"Leave it to me!" Tails said before taking off. He then started getting the attention of the robots. Then Sonic picked up Elise.

"Hold on tight," Sonic told the princess.

"Okay," Elise said. Then they all headed out of there, trying to avoid the robots.

As soon as they left the area, Amy and Silver came walking by that same area. Amy was looking all over for Sonic.

"Hmm... I sense Sonic's presence," Amy said, looking around, Silver right behind her in exhaustion. "Call it my girlish intuition."

"What am I doing?" Silver asked, shaking his head.

Amy then looked towards Silver and said, "Sorry. As soon as I find Sonic, I'll help you find who you're looking for, Silver."

Silver then noticed where he was, and never knew how the area around him looked before the incident.

"This looks so beautiful," Silver said.

"What? You mean this desert?" Amy asked, asking about the area.

"Everything is so great here, isn't it?" Silver asked. "The sky is gorgeous, and everyone's happy..."

"Huh?" Amy asked in confusion.

Silver quickly turned around and said, "Let's go. I'll help you find who you're looking for." As soon as they started taking steps, they were ambushed by some of Eggman's robots. "Whoa! What are these guys?!"

"Eggman's robots!" Amy said. "Eggman is basically the enemy of my friends, the Freedom Fighters! I really hope you can fight, otherwise, I'll..." Just then, some orange blasts came from above. The two looked up at the nearby cliff side and saw a figure coming down. The figure extended his right hand below, some orange shock waves coming from it, slowing his descent. He then launched a whip of orange energy at the robots, all of them disassembling in the progress. "Whoa! This guy is good!" Then the figure turned around, revealing himself.



"Why thank you, pretty lady," the bear said. "My name is Truemen. Truemen the Bear."

"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you," Amy said. "And that was some spectacular power you have." She then extended her right hand to shake his. But when he grabbed her hand, she cried in pain. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!"

"Oh, sorry about that!" Truemen said. "I'm still not used to the grip of this magical robot hand."

"Magical robot hand?" Silver asked. "How did you get that?"

"Well... let's just say that I got it after an alien ripped my real arm off and swallowed it whole," Truemen said.

"Alien?" Amy asked. "Wait, were you involved with the war against the Black Arms?"

"Yes," Truemen said. "But it was due to that war that I lost my arm. Luckily, the one who trained my idol saved me and gave me this arm."

"You have an idol?" Amy asked. "Who?"

"It's the most powerful guy in the Freedom Fighters," Truemen said. "MC the Fox."

"MC?!" Amy asked. "I know him. In fact, I'm looking for Sonic. Perhaps we can find him along the way so you can meet him."

"That would be an honor," Truemen said. "But if you're looking for Sonic, he went off in that direction not too long ago." Truemen pointed towards where Sonic and the Mane 6 went. "If we hurry, we can catch up."

"Got it," Amy said. Then the three of them started heading off in the direction that Sonic, the Mane 6 and Elise were going.

Meanwhile, at another part of Soleanna, and some old castle ruins near the forest, Shadow and Rouge walked into the ruins, looking around.

"The former king of Soleanna used to reside in this castle," Rouge explained to Shadow. "But a major accident occurred 10 years ago, and no one's lived here since."

"Accident?" Shadow asked, looking at Rouge.

"I heard a prototype energy engine failed, which caused the accident," Rouge continued. "I think the name of the plan was..."

"The Solaris Project," came Eggman's voice. The two looked up to see Eggman in his transport coming down. "It was an ambitious project named after their eternal sun god."

"Doctor!" Rouge said.

"It's been a while, my dear Rouge," Doctor Eggman said. He then looked at Shadow. "And of course, Shadow. Now, if you'd be so kind as to hand back the Scepter of Darkness you took from me."

Then a bunch of Eggman's robots surrounded the two. One of the robots fired a missile, but the two dodged it. But Eggman ambushed Rouge, making her fall and let go of the Scepter of Darkness. Shadow saw Rouge falling, and he caught her before she hit the ground.

"No...!" Eggman yelled seeing the scepter fall. When the scepter hit the ground, an electromagnetic field came from the broken scepter, making the robots freeze up with electricity surrounding them. That was when Shadow and Rouge stood up. Shadow then walked over towards the scepter, but then some black and dark purple energy came out of it.

"Shadow!" Rouge called out.

Then the energy came up from the scepter and like a snake-like dragon, it started flying over the robots. Eggman then called out, "It's no use! Pull back, pull back, pull back!" He then started flying away. The energy then took out the robots, flew up into the sky, and dive bombed right in front of Shadow, where his shadow was covering where the energy landed. Just then, the energy came out of the ground, absorbing Shadow's shadow. It eventually takes form. It became that same creature that took Silver and Blaze from the future to their current time.

"What? His shadow..." Rouge said, talking about Shadow.

The figure stood up and laughed. He then said, "Oh, how ironic fate can be! I would never have believed I would be resurrected through your shade! I thank you Shadow The Hedgehog!" He then bowed towards Shadow.

"Who are you? How do you know my name?" Shadow asked.

"I'm Mephiles. Mephiles the Dark," the figure answered, slowly walking up to the two. "What, did you forget me?" He then finally got very close to Shadow. "I owe much to you, Shadow." He then slowly raised his left hand. "Oh, yes." Then purple energy came from it. It was the same sphere he used to travel through time. "What you gave to me, I now return to you! A one-way ticket to oblivion." He then raised the sphere into the air, it surrounded the three. Shadow and Rouge called out in horror as the three disappeared.
