The next few days, I noticed I was developing feelings for Furry and I wanted to spend more time with her. One day, before Flurry headed downstairs for supper, she stopped and looked at me, as she said,
"Hey Zack, I know Changelings can transform themselves to look like a pony. I know you can because when you changed your form to look like me, but I was wondering, can you make yourself look like something else?”
I looked at Flurry and said,
“what do you mean?” she replied saying
“I mean, can you change into a small creature like a lizard or something?”
I looked at Flurry, saying, “I never actually tried to, but why do you want to see if I can?”
She replied, “Because if you are a small creature like a lizard, then you can come with me by hiding in my hair."
It took a little bit of time to think. I had never been outside of the room before and I was worried that I would get caught. But when I looked up I saw Flurry's face I agreed, Flurry's face lit up with a big smile before I closed my eyes and thought of myself as a lizard, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Flurry looking down at me with a smile on her face. I realized it worked, I looked at myself feeling impressed by what I just did
After I turned myself into a lizard, Flurry stretched her wings toward the ground and said,
“Hop on”
And as she said that, I walked up her wing into her back, into her hair on her head. Then she said,
"Get comfy. This is going to take a while."
Getting comfy was easy. Flurry’s hair was so soft and comfy so I just laid down in Flurry’s hair. Then she left the room and went to the dining room. But on her way, she got lost, and she saw a guard patrolling the hallway.
Flurry walked up to the guard and asked him if he knew where the dining room was. The guard nodded his head and told her where the dining room was. Flurry left the guard and started heading to the dining room after saying thanks to the guard.
When Flurry got to the dining room, Cadence sat waiting for her. When Flurry saw her mother, she said,
"Hi, Mom!"
She replied, “Hay Flurry, how is your day”
Flurry replied like she was not interested
“It was fine”
Cadence stood up from her seat and walked over to Flurry. and sat beside her and said in a calm voice,
“Flurry, I know it has been difficult for you after your father died, but please talk to me”
It shocked me to hear that Flurry’s father had died. I don’t remember when it was, but probably that day when Flurry came into the room crying and refusing to speak to me. I thought she just had a bad day at school, but I did not know this was why she was so upset.
I listened to what they were talking about.
Flurry answered
“It is nothing, Mom”
Cadence said,
“Flurry, I know how you feel about your father and how much he means to you. I understand that there must be a lot going on in your mind right now. Just please let it out”.
Tears began to form in Flurry's eyes as she replied, “I miss him, every day Mom.”
Cadence quickly pulled flurry into a hug as she held the back of her head and she did I continued to move around her hair to try to hide from Cadence as she said "Let it all out Flurry"
Flurry cried harder and cried for a long time and said.
“Every day I miss him and every night I miss him and I think that maybe if he was still here I could find some way to cope with it”.
“I know, sweetie, it hurts that Dad died, but I know he would want you to live the best life you can. Don’t worry about a thing, he wouldn’t want you to be sad all the time”
Flurry continues to cry as she says "I know, it, it just hurts"
Cadence replies,
“Hey, hey sweetie, it’s ok, it’s alright. Everything is going to be OK.”
As she says that she pats Flurry’s back to calm her down. I lay underneath her hair, listening to the conversation feeling a little sad for Flurry.
Flurry eventually started to calm down, as Cadence continued to hug her as she used her magic to bring over a box of tissues. Cadence began to wipe away the last traces of Flurry’s tears
Flurry looked at her mother and said,
"Thanks, Mom I really needed that”
Cadence kissed her forehead and replied,
"Anytime remember I will always be here for you."
They hugged once more, then her Cadence headed for the kitchen to make supper. Flurry followed her and sat at the table, they began to eat their food as they talked about memories of Flurry's dad. I stayed hidden until Flurry finished eating and headed upstairs to her bedroom.
Back in her bedroom, I hopped out of Flurry’s hair, transforming back into my original form. I turned to Flurry to see her cry in her bed, thinking about how her father had passed away. I walked up to her and said.
“Flurry, I’m sorry to hear about your father”
She replied “i just need to be alone right now”
I replied to her, saying,
“Flurry, please, we need to talk about it. I know you don’t want to, but it is going to help you feel better”
Flurry didn’t reply and instead, she cried, so I walked closer to her and placed a hand on her shoulder
I looked down at Flurry who had her face bared in her pillow. I sat down beside patting her back
I didn't know what to do, or how to make her feel better, but for some reason, I stayed beside her,
Eventually Flurry sat back up looking at the floor as tears continued to fall down her cheek, I felt a sharp pain in my chest as tears began to form in my eyes like I was feeling her pain, eventually, Flurry couldn't take it much more. as more tears started to stream down her face, I quickly pulled her into a hug resting my head on top of hers as she buried her face into my chest letting all of her pain out. after a few minutes, she began to calm down she looked up at me giving me a smile
" You ok," I said returning the smile, Flurry shook her head "No but I feel a bit better, thank you for staying with me" "Flurry your my best friend there is nowhere else I would rather be than with you"
We continued to hug for a few moments before we pulled apart from each other, Flurry smiled as she walked out of the room. However, before she left the room, she stopped and looked at me and said,
"Do you want to come and take a bath with me?”
"Sure" and turned back into a lizard and went into her hair. not thinking much of it. Flurry walked to the bathroom with me in her hair. When we got to the bathroom, I hopped out of her hair as Flurry closed the door and turned on the tub. After a few minutes, she shut off the running water and started walking into the tub as she motioned for me to join her.
We played inside the tub for about twenty minutes before we got out and headed to bed
