The Friendship Games: Amber Shine

Pinkie's Party Cannons (Short chapter)

"Ugh! What in the world are in these things?" Twilight gasped as she and Pinkie were pushing down two abnormally giant boxes down the hallway. "And why are they so heavy?"

"They're party cannons!" Pinkie said cheerfully.

"They let you have cannons in school?" Twilight asked looking shocked.

"They're just cannons that shoot confetti. They're not like actually real cannons so they're completley safe," Pinkie assured. Twilight saw they still had a good distance to go before they reached the doors. Twilight groaned as she continued pushing along with Pinkie. After a few more pushes she stopped pushing to take a quick breath.

"Hold on...I think I need to take a quick breather." she panted.

"Yeah, I think I need one too," Pinkie agreed although it didn't even look like she was exhausted.

After a couple minutes they resumed their pushing. On the bright side, they were just halfway down the hallway so it wasn't that bad and at least they didn't have to bring it downstairs. After many pushes Pinkie said to Twilight,

"Okay, Twilight. Just a few more!" After about thirty exhaustin pushes they had finally made it to the door.

"Finally...We made it." Twilight gasped catching her breath.

Pinkie's eyes went wide as she just realized something. "Ohhhhhhh Twilight, okay so I just realized these are not the party cannons. These are boxes full of bricks from when I helped one of my friends on their barn. We gotta take these back and get the party cannons."

"And you're just telling me now?" Twilight groaned. "Can't we just leave them here?"

"No, silly! It's a fire hazard if we do! Come on, it's not that far."

Twilight looked down the hallway in distress. She groaned again and now began to push the two boxes in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, AppleJack had noticed Pinkie wasn't with them. "Hey has anyone seen Pinkie?" She asked.

"Beats me, she could be anywhere," Rainbow shrugged.

"I saw her ran off with that new Twilight," Fluttershy pointed out.

"Hey, Mighty. Do you have any ideas on what the Friendship Games are going to be?"

"Yes, we do know what they are but unfortunaltely, we're not allowed to tell you until it starts. Sorry."

"Aww well that's alright. I just know with Amber on our team, we'll kick anyone's butt!"

"Oh yeah I don't doubt that." Mighty chuckled.

"I think we will too." Amber agreed. "To me, it's just going to be a repeat of previous games but I'm sure for you guys it's going to be an amazing day to remember."

"Yeah, it totally is!" Rainbow responded enthusiatically. "I still just can't wrap my head around how you're so good, Amber."

"Wanna know how? Well Mighty here is your answer." she laughed. "Would you believe me if I said before I was so bad that I was even worse than Fluttershy?" She quickly realized what she said. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, Fluttershy."

"it's okay, none taken." Fluttershy responded.

"No way..." Rainbow said in disbelief.

"Yes, Rainbow. If you saw me before, you would not believe how awful I was."

"It's true. I almost couldn't believe it either," Mighty said. "There were times when I thought about giving up entirely helping her train. But I knew she had potential and just needed help reaching it. It was a challenge believe me, and when I say that I meant it took countless days but now...I'm just blown away how far she's come. I still remember her reaction when she was chosen to compete for the Friendship Games All-Region." Amber's face blushed red.

"Wow..." was all AppleJack said. "Thats...amazing."

"Amber isn't the only one. I've also trained Error and just about over 100 students in the past couple years."

"WHAT?!" all the girls gasped. "You're kidding!" Rainbow gasped.

"It's not that big of deal," Mighty said with a sly smile. "I just like helping people, that's all. And besides even I was just like Amber. No one is born being insane you know. If it wasn't for Sapphire, I don't think I would have been where I am right now."

"You think I'm good, Rainbow. Wait until you compete against Mighty," Amber giggled.

"I'll lose for sure but I think I'll be able to get a few points," Rainbow said confidently.

"You seem like a good player. Who knows you might tie or even beat me." Mighty replied.

Back across the hallways, Twilight and Pinkie had now just finished pushing the boxes across the hallways.

"Okay...just...need...a little...break," Twilight said weakly as she collapsed to the ground in exhaustion.
