Chapter 12: Repeat

"You." Twilight said, while glaring at Starlight. Then afterwards, she teleported away from them, leaving only behind the disappointed faces of her friends.

Starlight just stared on, trying to process what she just said to her. It hurt a lot that her own former teacher, and one of her closest friends, would continue trying to convince the others that she was the one that caused all this. She was the one that mind controlled Twilight's friends. But the worst part is that, in order for the real Twilight to come back, she would have to hurt her... again.

Its the last thing I want to do. Starlight said as she wiped a tiny tear that started to form in her eye. She hurt Twilight once, for an evil purpose, and a stupid one too. But would she have the courage to do it again? For the sake of making her come back?

"Ugh, I forgot we have to deal with her." Starlight heard Discord's annoyed groan behind her.

Starlight sighed as she turned to face her friends. "Well, we have to face her eventually-"

She was suddenly cut out when a bright purple aura had surrounded her. In a flash, she immediately landed on what feels to be sand. She got up to her feet and saw that she was correct. She was surrounded by the desert canyons, and she only saw a few cacti.

Starlight heard hoofsteps behind her and saw Twilight was approaching her with a glare.

She teleported me! Starlight thought in anger.

"Where are we?" Starlight demanded her angrily. "And how dare you interrupt me mid-sentence?"

"We're in the desert of Appleloosa." Twilight answered simply. "Where you wouldn't have Discord and Trixie to help you now."

Starlight was confused by her motives. What was she playing? "So, you left your friends to the villains that you thought mind controlled them?"

"They're a lost cause now." Twilight answered as she shook her head in sadness. "Besides, I have a new goal in mind now."

"Yeah? What's that?" Starlight asked her, before she was startled by Twilight's sudden tackle. They rolled on the sandy ground until Starlight was being held down by Twilight, with the alicorn's hoof on her chest.

"To defeat you, of course." Twilight smirked. "Of course, I need my revenge after you assaulted me in the Canterlot Gardens.

Starlight, with the willpower that she has right now, she forcefully kicked Twilight off with her hind legs. It hurt her to use them like that, since one of her sides were still covered in deep scratches, thanks to Spike.

"I can't believe you!" Starlight looked desperately at the alicorn. "What happened to forgiveness and second chances? Aren't you the Princess of Friendship after all?"

"Oh, I can forgive." Twilight simply shrugged. "But you are beyond forgiving." She said hatefully, then Starlight noticed that her eyes turned red when she said those words.

Starlight started walking backwards when Twilight started walking up to her, threateningly.

"Twilight, don't make me do this." Starlight said in hesitation.

"Scared?" Twilight taunted. Before Starlight could react, Twilight shot a powerful beam at the ground, causing it to explode and knock Starlight backwards.

Starlight crashed onto the ground. She looked up at Twilight, who was starting to walk towards her slowly, and when she saw that Twilight had a menacing grin, something clicked inside Starlight, telling her that enough was enough.

This was not the real Twilight. Not any longer. Instead, it was replaced by an illogical, and an unforgiving version of herself, and from the testimonies she had gotten from Spike and Twilight's friends, they were trapped, forced to watch them do damage onto the three. Starlight only got angrier when she realized that Twilight was in the same situation, probably screaming for help inside.

I'll break you free. Starlight vowed in her head. With a determined look at the alicorn, she slowly started to get up. She didn't care about the pain she felt from her leg anymore. In fact, she quickly discarded it, somehow.

"The only one who should be scared is you." Starlight retorted as she got face to face with her.

"And why should I?" Twilight continued to scoff. "You're just a unicorn. Meanwhile I'm an alicorn. More powerful than you."

"But don't think you'll take me down so easily." Starlight said before getting into her battle position and lighting up her horn brightly.

"Why are you even doing this to yourself?" Twilight rolled her eyes, before getting into her battle position too, although not as determined as Starlight's. "It's easier if you just submitted to me."

"Because my friend is trapped." Starlight answered her bitterly. "And I'll do anything to get her back. Even if I have to fight you again and again."

Twilight's eyes narrowed in rage. "For the last time..." Starlight braced herself as Twilight's horn started to glow brightly. "I... am... not... your... FRIEND!" She screamed when she shot another beam at Starlight's direction. Starlight quickly teleported away and instead teleported on top of one of the canyons.

"Missed me!" Starlight taunted from above.

Enraged, Twilight quickly teleported to Starlight and tackled her once more. But Starlight had the upper hoof this time. When they tumbled, it was now Twilight's turn to be slammed to the ground, while Starlight was on top.

"Thought you could try that on me again?" Starlight continued to sneer.

Twilight lit up her horn and they immediately teleported to another part of Equestria, the forest area; and they both landed in vines, and the both of them soon got tangled.

"Oh." Twilight sighed. "Didn't think that through."

"You think?" Starlight raised her eyebrow. She cast a teleportation spell on them, and they both landed on the grassy forest ground.

"Thanks, I guess-" Twilight was about to thank her in an ungrateful voice when this time, she was interrupted by Starlight as she had levitated her and slammed her against a tree. While Twilight was dazed Starlight quickly ran up to her and kept pushing her more and more.

Be unconscious, please! Starlight begged in her mind.

"You think thats gonna help?" Twilight mocked before forcefully kicking Starlight with her leg and regained her footing. Then she shot another beam at her, and which Starlight thankfully dodged.

However, when Twilight leapt for her, Starlight shot at her left outstretched wing in defense, leaving a burn mark. Starlight lowered her ears when she heard her former teacher scream of pain.

Looking at her wing, then back at Starlight, her hatred grew even more. She teleported again, and this time, she teleported them to another part of Equestria, a muddy and rainy terrain, somewhere in the mountains.

"What's the point of teleporting?" Starlight asked her while still firing magic at Twilight.

"To see how you do with different climates!" Twilight answered, then when Starlight went high in the air, she cast a spell and when the beam was intact, Starlight turned into a crystal.

"Hah!" Twilight laughed a little.

But Starlight broke away the crystal easily. "Really? Now that's childish." Starlight scoffed as she got on the ground. But then she saw Twilight fire a beam at her. When Starlight dodged, the beam left a giant hole in the rocks.

Disappointed that she missed, Twilight looked at Starlight angrily before firing another move. But then she heard trembling underneath her.

"What is that?" Twilight asked, actual fear reaching her voice.

Finally, Twilight and Starlight stopped fighting, and listened to where the sound was coming from. Once it got closer, Starlight immediately looked up. She saw at what appeared to be a giant, rocky, and muddy river heading their way. Starlight's heart almost stopped when she saw what it was.

"A mudslide!" Starlight screamed.

"A what?!" Twilight asked, it seemed that she didn't hear her voice to the rumbling as it was getting closer and closer. Since Twilight, for some stupid reason, was not aware of the mudslide, Starlight tried to teleport her away. But it was too late.

When the mudslide came their way, Twilight was quickly caught in it. "Help!" she screamed. Just then, a lightning bolt flashes in the sky.

"Twilight!" Starlight screamed as she watched her get caught in the mudslide.

She raced down with her magic and tried to find Twilight and see if she could teleport her out. She could see Twilight gasping for air but was quickly unconscious as she was hit on the head by a rock that passed by. With that, she suddenly stopped screaming and her eyes closed, and disappeared in the slide.

No!

Starlight felt tears go down her face once more. Praying that she was ok, Starlight cast a teleportation spell, but she couldn't get a hold of Twilight. With nowhere else to turn Starlight went for the last resort.

Starlight dived towards the mudslide, and as she got closer, she saw tiny purple spots in the slide. She went and grabbed her with her magic, but she looked beside her and saw that a giant pine tree as about to crash down onto them. With a lot of effort, Starlight pulled Twilight out of the mudslide. Then once she was out, Starlight immediately teleported away, with the tree crashing down at the last second.
