To ensure he wouldn't go anywhere, they kept him in the house, putting up a barrier that can only be taken down by Discord. Not even teleportation would work. Eclipse was under house arrest. Leaving him to retreat to the worlds and stories inside the many books he had.
As the boy grew older he started to hate his parents, it was alright before but now as an older child felt a great sense of loneliness he had no friends and no other creatures to interact with, and now with his parent’s strictness, he felt great anger.
Eclipse knew he wanted to explore he wanted to see every universe like in his books, to learn how it all ticks and cause Mischief.
Midnight did feel bad and she often questioned if she was doing the right thing. But, as a mother, she knew it was her life's purpose to protect him even if he was moody. “Who would have thought I’d end up in this situation,” she thought to herself, “what would human Twilight think?” she chuckles.
"Well, I wouldn't know for sure. But give him a break, he's a teenager! They're always moody. Tell you what! Let's get him something special for his birthday! Maybe a pet to keep him company?" Discord suggests.
“That’s a great idea! It’ll be a great way to give him company and experience something from a different dimension, along with learning responsibility and a possible beast to help him conquer the multiverse!”
Discord nods. That birthday he went and knocked on his son's door. "Eclipse? Buddy?"
“What is it?” Eclipse said sounding rather bored, he was trying to figure out a Rubik's cube which with his intellect was too easy. “Oh, hi dad,” he said rather matter-a-fact.
He had a rather large collection of different kinds to challenge himself. "Hey bud, now I know it's been a rough few years, but your mother and I thought this birthday should be special!"
He lit up a little and his interest perked, “really!” Then he thought for a moment, “it’s not another cube, is it? I’ve done so many! Even the hardest ones from Gallifrey!”
"Oh! No, no no no, something much better than boring cubes," Discord snapped his hand, and a giant creature encyclopedia landed in front of Eclipse.
“Oh! Is this a reference to all creatures from the multiverse?!” He looks at it eagerly. Admiring the hard leatherbound cover and its design.
"Yup! And today we're going to find you the perfect one!"
“Oh my goodness! Really?!!” Eclipse beamed with excitement. The book was bigger than it would seem possible to read through the whole thing but it was no problem for Eclipse! To have the brainpower of an ancient chaos spirit and a hyper-intelligent Midnight Sparkle.
He started to look through it, the book was filled with everything from every reality. Discord smiles whilst he would have personally preferred to take Eclipse to these places he knew it was safer this way.
"Maybe later we can play a bit of OnO after dinner," He offers as well, flashing into his character’s cosplay.
“That would be great!” He hugs his dad, “thanks dad,” Eclipse said with a genuine tone. It was not perfect but it gave him something to look forward to.
He levitated the book and skimmed through it, even getting reference books of the dimensions they were from. Books became the closest thing to being in those dimensions.
Eventually, Eclipse's eye was caught by a beautiful Rainbow serpent. It was a powerful ancient creature in its dimension; it had created a world! According to the book.
Something that powerful was perfect for him! So, he showed his parents the photo and they thought it was a perfect choice. Discord left to go get one.
Eclipse hadn’t been this excited for so long he always wanted to have a pet and this looked amazing!
“Eclipse, I know things haven’t been as pleasant these last few years, but it’s for your good,” Eclipse grumbled but nodded not wanting to complain it was nice his parents doing this for him.
“But I promise when you’re older you’ll be allowed if you’ve proven you won’t mess with the timelines,”
“Yes, I promise,” Eclipse says with a sigh.
Discord returns with the rainbow serpent, full of so much colour! But it was only a baby, “figured it was only right for you to raise it,” Discord says, handing the little thing to Eclipse.
“I would love to! Get to see how he develops!” He says as he picks it up “hmm what should I call you?” He thinks, one wing reaching up to scratch his head in thought.
The snake became straight and pointed to some food in Eclipse's room he smirked knowing the language of the people where this creature came from he knew exactly what to name him
“So....what shall we name this little boop noodle?” Discord asks as he followed his son.
“Nullah!” He said with enthusiasm, “Pintupi Nullah!” Which was how the creatures said greetings in their native dimension.
“Wise choice of words, but perfect,” Midnight praised him.
He smiled loving his new pet, Nullah booped his nose
“Do you like him?” Discord asks, watching the two interact.
“I love him thank you so much!”
He said as he hugged the adorable world creator.
“You’re very welcome,” his parents say in unison.
A few years would go by, Nullah was a great companion and Eclipse learned a lot but still, he hated being stuck and confined for so long.
He was a pony of so much power the ability to go anywhere to see all versions of reality and stay in one place forever was too much.
By the time he was full-grown he was hoping his parents would finely let him the travel
But they were still unsure of that. After researching all the dimensions and how they go.
He asked many times but they still refused the more time went on the more He got angry again
But, being older he was also stronger. Secretly he had been practicing to get through the barriers. He realized that waiting was not an option! As they were overly protective. Eclipse worked so hard, his powers were more than his parents could have imagined even himself.
“Ok, here we go!” He says as he concentrates then opens a portal light flashing everywhere, it would only last a minute. He thought, “am I doing the right thing?.. I have to! I need to! I love them but I need to spread my....well whatever I have,” he then ran through it, and Eclipse's adventures truly begin.......
