It’s come down to this. The final event of the friendship games, the flag hunt. Everything was already tied up after the relay race incident, but this would end it all. Principal Sinch and the other students kept pressuring Twilight to release the stored magic her device had been collecting. Twilight gave in, Canterlot High was already cheating with their magic so it seemed fair.
When Sunset saw Twilight seming to approach them, something didn’t feel right. She saw Twilight press the center to open it, she hurried to stop her but it was too late. The suppressed magic let out in a large burst, a large sphere swiling with energy that lifted Twilight in the air and consume her.
“Heeeeeeeeeelllllllp... meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!” she cried reaching out to who she thought were her friends. Screaming as the magic consumed her, it all became too much and it caused her to transform completely, awakening the inner demon now known as Midnight Sparkle. Finally having a full understanding of magic and control over Twilight, she destroyed the dimensional barrier, opening holes peeking into Equestria causing more chaos as terrified people tried to flee.
Everyone helped where they could, even the students of Crystal prep let go of their rivalry to help others before they fell into Equestria. Seeing her friends risk their own lives to help others, Sunset looked down at Twilights device that was picking up on their inner magic, a new spark ignited inside her. Standing up to Midnight, she used the same device to collect the magic from her friends to transform as well into a more angelic like being.
It turned into a stalemate with their dark and light magic pushing against one another until Spike called out to Midnight. Twilight seemed to break free for a momnet, which gave Sunset the chance to defeat Midnight and bring Twilight back…….
Sunset, Twilight, and the rest of the Canterlot High gang celebrated after Twilight had turned back from being Midnight Sparkle. What they didn't know was that as she was turning back, a small sliver of Midnight Sparkle escaped into one of the closing portals. It was only a small amount, but it swore revenge against the girls. So she tried to corrupt Twilight again, especially after she gained new powers. But like always, the magic of friendship prevailed and Twilight overcame her insecurities. Midnight couldn't touch her anymore, and she became lost in the space between the multiverses.
"It seems that your plan has failed again, will there be a plan C?" a voice tauntingly teased. She turns to see the familiar draconequus. One that had helped her regain her strength in hopes of taking back power and control.
Midnight looked at the creature, she was rather annoyed and saddened at this failure.
“Well, I don’t know anymore....my whole existence... I came into being because of her, I became my own life form.......I had one purpose but now!” She punched the air feeling like she had no direction, Midnight had appreciated the help of Discord and even felt close to him, but still, she struggled.
"Oh come now Twinkle, I'm sure we can find a place for you somewhere, the universe is yours!" Discord assured coming close, waving his pawed hand to the vast space as many portals opened to other dimensions. Some are happy and bright, others are already corrupted in darkness.
She looks at the portals and she feels how lucky she was to find a beast so unknown to her intellect and yet so helpful, Midnight thought with a smile “While I appreciate your assistence in the past, letting me speak to Twilight in her dreams to try and corrupt her again did work for awhile until…friendship prevailed,” saying the word made Midnight shiver and gag. “It still puzzles me. Why? Why have you helped me so much? You are an incredible strong and powerful being, why do you care?” She asked with a smirk liking this chaotic creature.
"Oh I have nothing better to do, after being defeated a zillion times I've taken up the hobby of dimension watching!!" a remote appeared in his paw, as he pressed the channel button to scroll through different dimensions of different realities. On his head appeared a classic drinking cap that said ‘Reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, bye gold bye,’ with two cans of bubble shock attatched to either side. Discord casually sipped from the cans with the middle straw as a large bowl of cookie cats appeared in his lap while he sat in a louge chair. "Some of them are quite entertaining! Chaotic even!"
Midnight watched the many dimensions flash by, then flew up to him with an idea!
“Well then it’s clear to me we need to do something more if we want to truly accomplish our goals..” she chuckles. “You’ve helped me and my appreciation is high, but together! We could be unstoppable! I can discover all the secrets and knowledge of the magic in the multiverse and you can be as chaotic as you want” She patted his head
Discord sneered at himself, "Oh! ho! ho! I like where this is going." he says flying around her a little before they stand on an invisible platform, "Where do we start, Twinkle?"
She rolled her eyes at his nickname for her but she accepted since she felt for this creature...in ways, she was surprised by. She thought about it with her intellect and her feelings running high, “Well there’s so many Dimensions!..wait what if we combine ourselves...a creature who has both our powers who can accomplish what we can not!”
"Our own heir of darkness hm?" He hums, claws his hand on his beard, "I suppose, but we'll have to work up to that don't we?" He smirked again, coming close to her face.
She blushes a deep red still having a shyness that her original host had “w..well yes! Of course, I’m willing! Our heir will be the most powerful” She gave him a look with her eyes and stroked his long neck.
"Well then," he waved as a door opened to a bedroom, "Shall we?"
Her heart raced and she smirks thinking this will be the great beginning “yes I am!” Midnight replies, entering rather eagerly.
So did he, but peeked his head out to look at the two people writing their every word and action, "Now I know you two are up there and are coming up with this as you go, but this isn't for your eyes," he says before shutting the door. Disappointing a few certain people. But his head phased through once more,
“Who were you...never mind” midnight shrugged it off.
"Oh don't worry about it twinkle, nothing to worry about," He assures her.
