Chapter 5: Helping Out a Friend

In Applejack's Honesty Class, Applejack making sure the class was all in there, including the school's new student, the human turned dragon, Aaron Blazer.

"Alright, everycreature!" Applejack said to the class. "Welcome to class. We're gonna pick up where we left off yesterday."

Aaron then thought of something. He remembered those words used by Applejack before in a fan comic. He then looked towards Gallus, who was looking at Silverstream, not seeming to be paying attention to the class. Aaron smirked at what Gallus was getting at.

"A good amount of the time, someone being dishonest can be shown by their behavior," Applejack said to the class. "Signs of stuttering, facial expressions, and even denial. For example..." She then yelled out loud. "GALLUS, QUIT MAKIN' GOO-GOO EYES AT SILVERSTREAM!"

Then the whole class started laughing. Aaron laughed as well. He then silently said, "Here we go again."

"W-w-what?" Gallus stuttered as the class continues laughing. "I-I-I wasn't doing that! Th-th-that's ridiculous!" He then continued stuttering.

"See class?" Applejack asked. "Prime example."

Aaron shook his head, still chuckling at what was happening.

Later in the cafeteria, Aaron and Gallus were in line together, getting their lunch.

"I still can't believe everyone thought I was making goo-goo eyes at Silverstream," Gallus said.

"Well, you were," Aaron said. "In fact, that moment was made into a fan comic."

"Oh, great," Gallus said, covering his face.

"Basically, you have a crush on Silverstream," Aaron said. "Don't you?"

"Uhh... I-I-I... I don't r-really know if I..." Gallus stuttered. Aaron smirked at that. Gallus then looked around and quietly said, "Meet me in the bathroom after we're done eating." Aaron nodded in response.

Later in the boys restroom, Aaron and Gallus were there as Gallus was checking under the stalls for any other creatures being in there when it was supposed to be a private meeting.

"Okay, I'll admit, I may have a crush on Silverstream," Gallus said. "There, I said it."

"When did this all happen?" Aaron asked.

"It... happened not too long before you came to our world," Gallus answered. "I guess I never wanted to admit it, but she looks so cute. I don't know why, but... she's so... attractive to me."

"I can see why," Aaron said. "After all, both the griffons and the hippogriffs are both species that are half eagle."

"Oh," Gallus said. "Right. I guess it's the eagle in me that's attracted to the eagle in her."

"Tell me what happened long before I came here," Aaron said.

Gallus sighed and said, "It all started when one night, when Sandbar was visiting his family, I was sleeping in the room all by myself. That was until one night, Silverstream woke me up, saying that she dreamt of the Storm King. She feared that one day, the Storm King would return. She came to me, cuddled with me in her sleep... and she woke up feeling better that she had me for support that night. And then when she left..." Gallus then started blushing.

"She kissed you on the cheek," Aaron said.

Gallus's blush darkened and he asked, "That entire event was a fan comic, wasn't it?"

"I thought that was adorable," Aaron said. "But I think where and when all of that really happened. When you were helping Silverstream overcome her fear underneath the school."

Gallus thought of that and said, "I guess that would make sense. When she felt that the Storm King would make her feel trapped underwater again. Like how I was afraid of being trapped in tight spaces."

"Claustrophobia," Aaron said. "The fear of tight spaces. That's a common fear."

"Yeah, it is," Gallus said. He then sighed. "I just hope that one day, I can do something special for her."

"You know what, Gallus?" Aaron asked. "I'm gonna help you with that."

"You are?" Gallus asked. "How are you gonna do that?"

"Leave that... to me," Aaron said.

The weekend came up already and Aaron was flying back towards the school. Smolder was flying besides him.

"Where have you been?" Smolder asked, crossing her arms and flying besides Aaron.

"Let's just say I had something to do today," Aaron said.

"Like what?" Smolder asked.

"Remember when you and Gallus went to go back to see if the others made it out of the caverns after your tests by the Tree of Harmony?" Aaron asked.

"Oh, here we go," Smolder said, rolling her eyes.

"Something happened when Gallus helped out with Silverstream," Aaron said. "A certain... spark."

"Oh... that," Smolder said. "The two may have been getting along with each other. I mean, one night, Silverstream woke me up, screaming. She must've had a nightmare that night."

"Let me guess, she left the room and didn't come back that night?" Aaron asked.

"Yeah," Smolder said. "How'd you know?"

"She slept with Gallus that night," Aaron said. "And she appreciated his help. She kissed him on the cheek the next morning to show appreciation."

"She did?!" Smolder asked, shocked.

"Yeah," Aaron said. "Gallus wanted to do something special for her, so I decided to help him out."

"So, what did you do?" Smolder asked.

"I helped out by setting up a picnic for the two," Aaron said.

"A picnic?" Smolder asked. "How do you know if that's gonna work?"

"Oh, sometimes sharing a meal brings two young souls together," Aaron said. "Although, I've had to get some more information on Silverstream on what she enjoys."

"How did you get that kind of information?" Smolder asked.

"She's almost as open minded as Pinkie Pie," Aaron said. "She basically gave me a list of all of her favorite foods. Both on land and in Seaquestria. Although, it was hard for me to get all the Seaquestrian food."

"Oh, yeah," Smolder said. "Princess Twilight wanted to make sure to know where you are at all times, so she ordered you to stay in Ponyville unless you were being summoned to Canterlot if she wanted to talk to you."

"Yeah," Aaron said. "I might as well see how they're doing."

"I gotta see this," Smolder said. "And if anyone asks, I'm saying that it's a part of our flying training."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Aaron said.

"Hey, do you think Twilight got rid of that last Pinkie Clone you were talking about?" Smolder asked.

"Nah, Twilight couldn't do that," Aaron said. "For two reasons. One; the clone had already got her own life there and she doesn't want to abandon her friends in Manehattan. And two; the clone was scared of Twilight for what she did to the other Pinkie Clones that day."

"Really?" Smolder asked.

"Yeah," Aaron said. "Besides, I saw that clone story in a fan comic story. Too bad it was cancelled at the beginning of the third chapter."

"Wow," Smolder said. "Did she change her whole identity?"

"Just to avoid Twilight from recognizing her," Aaron said. "Now, c'mon. Let's see how Gallus and Silverstream do." They then flew towards the park.

In the park, Gallus and Silverstream were walking there, Gallus holding a picnic basket.

"I still can't believe you actually wanted me to go with you for a picnic," Silverstream said.

"Yeah, well, I guess I wanted to do something special," Gallus said. "I'm sure that the two of us are gonna enjoy this."

"Oh, Gallus," Silverstream said, blushing.

"Now, how about we go and enjoy this food?" Gallus said, pulling out a picnic blanket and putting the picnic basket in the middle of the blanket.

"Oh, I thought you'd never ask!" Silverstream said. She then opened up the picnic basket and gasped. "Are these...?"

"Your favorite snacks, along with some sandwiches, juice boxes, and..." Gallus said, pulling out a watermelon from the basket. "...a watermelon."

"Ooh... sounds delicious!" Silverstream said. The two then started setting up plates.

As the two were setting up their picnic, Aaron was watching them from a distance with a sextant. Smolder was with him on a rooftop.

"Looks like they're doing good," Aaron said.

"What is that thing?" Smolder asked.

"It's a sextant," Aaron said. "It's like a telescope, but used for measuring distances. In the future, you'd be using one."

"Wait... you've seen my future in the show?" Smolder asked.

"It was the series finale," Aaron said. "It showed Twilight's coronation as the high princess, and some parts of the future."

"How long in the future?" Smolder asked.

"I'd say about, 20... 25 years," Aaron said. "And in the future, Gallus actually made it from rags to riches."

"He became a rich griffon?" Smolder asked.

Aaron grabbed his computer and showed an image of Gallus in the future. He then said, "More like Captain of the Royal Guard."

"Whoa!" Smolder said, looking at the picture. "So, Gallus ended up Captain of the Canterlot Royal Guard?! He must've come a long way!"

"You all have," Aaron said. "You, Silverstream and Ocellus all work in the School of Friendship, and Yona works at Carousel Boutique."

"What about Sandbar?" Smolder asked.

"I don't know what Sandbar was doing in the future," Aaron said. "I don't know what came of him in the future."

"Guess we won't know until another... I don't know, 15-20 years," Smolder said. "Heck, I don't know how pony ages work."

"Neither do I," Aaron said. "Although, ever since the Cake Twins have been born, they've looked the same since they did in Season 2."

"Meh, they probably didn't show it in the show, but they have grown up here," Smolder said. "Take a look for yourself."

Aaron looked towards Smolder with a confused look. She then pointed towards somewhere and then Aaron used the sextant to see Mr. and Mrs. Cake, along with two young foals with normal looking eyes.

"Huh," Aaron said. "So that's what they look like when they reach a certain age."

"Pretty much," Smolder said.

Aaron then looked back towards Gallus and Silverstream, Aaron saw the two were confused about the supplies used to make s'mores.

"Seriously?" Aaron said. "They don't know how to make s'mores?"

"What are s'mores?" Smolder asked. Aaron looked back towards Smolder with a surprised look.

"You mean to tell me that you never had a s'more in your life?" Aaron asked.

"Dragons don't have everything ponies have," Smolder said. "Heck, your world is a lot more technologically advanced than our world is at the moment."

"Meh, that's true," Aaron said. He then sighed. "I might as well show all of you. Heck, maybe I should also get Ocellus and Yona in on this. Sandbar probably knows how to make s'mores in the first place."

Later that night, Aaron was showing the Young 6 how to make s'mores.

"And once the marshmallow is at a golden brown color, you put the marshmallow on the chocolate that's on one of the graham cracker pieces. Then you put the other piece of graham cracker on top, crush it down, and then enjoy."

The Young 6, except Sandbar, were amazed by the way Aaron told them about s'mores.

"Dang, this does look good," Gallus said, preparing his own s'more. "I wish I'd have some when I still had my parents around."

"What happened to your parents?" Silverstream asked.

"I don't know," Gallus said. "One day, my parents had left Griffonstone for something. They said that they would be back as soon as possible. But then..." He then sighed. "Two days later, I received a message. My parents... they were..." He then shed a couple tears. "All I can say is it involved a bugbear."

"Ooh," Sandbar said. "Those things are vicious. Let me guess, you were sent to an orphanage?"

"I would have if they hadn't shut it down just to keep up with the taxes," Gallus said. "I ended up living on the streets. No family. Barely any shelter. Stealing just to survive."

"You know, Gallus, your story just reminds me of Aladdin," Aaron said.

"Aladdin?" Gallus asked. "Who or what is that?"

"Well, guess it's movie time," Aaron said. He then pulled out his tablet and he started showing the group the movie, Aladdin, the one from 1992.
