//------------------------------// // Chapter V - PONY-19 // Story: The Legend Starts // by 654_nosneb //------------------------------// After an hour or so, we headed back home. I hoped that I could be the one that tells mom about the pony transformation situation; but when she returned home with a story about how her boss was now a unicorn, I think I lost my chance. "Do you think it was funny!" she shouted very angry. "To turn one third of the city into magical ponies!" "But mom," Luna tried to say. "Me... We... I... eh, didn't do than on purpose." "Yeah," I complemented. "*coff* It was unconscious because magic is very linked to emotions *coff*." "So," she exclaimed. "You knew that THIS could happen, and you never told me!" "Well..." "To your room!" she shouted. "All of you!" "But..." "TO YOUR ROOM!" We headed to our room. I know mom when she's this angry; when she is like this, she turns into a monster, and won't listen to any rational argument. I'm already used to it in some degree, but it's pretty obvious that the fillies do not. "Don't worry," I spoke in our way to the room. "Before you know, she's gonna come to our room and apologize." "But, this is happening in all the city, right?" Celestia asked. "What if they don't turn back? What if they stay as ponies forever?" "Well, then we'll find a solution," I proposed. "We learned a bit about how your magic works. We'll just find a way to de-convert them." "You think is it possible?" Luna asked. "I hope so." We entered our room, in which Melissa was listening her music, and after we explained the situation to her, she said: "It's a matter of time before the people blame Tia and Luna for this. *coff* And they wouldn't be wrong, so we need to think on something to say before something else happens *coff*." "I agree," I said. "*coff* We could..." I didn't finish my sentence, because the room's door opened, revealing a sad Bianca behind it. "I-I'm," she said. "I'm sorry, I don't know what happened to me *coff*, guess I was too angry to think coherently. Could you now told me what happened?" "Of course, mom!" Tia exclaimed as she flied to her chest, and hugged her. After some apologies, some cries and a dinner, we went to sleep. That night, I was too tired to even dream, so I passed directly to the next day. "*yawns* Well, time to start a new day," I said to myself as I stood up, well, TRIED to stand up but immediately felt something wrong with my limbs, and fell into the floor. I quickly crawled out of the dark room, and headed to the hallway's mirror. To my horror, and not surprise, I wasn't a human anymore. I was a blue horse, with a horn, yellow mane and a pair of wings. I was an alicorn. "AAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" My shout awoke everyone at the house; but instead of mom or Melissa coming to help me, I saw an orange pegasus with white mane and orange eyes stepping out of her room. "AAAAAAHHH!" the pony shouted as she saw me. "AAAAAAHHH!" the pony shouted as she saw herself. "What's all that... AAHHHHH!" I heard mom's voice echo from her room. I trotted/crawled to her room but couldn't open the door since well, hooves. But then, a familiar golden aura enveloped the door handle and opened for me. I looked behind me and saw Celestia and Luna with tears on her eyes, practically at the edge of collapse. "William?" Luna asked, to which I nodded. We entered mom's room, and saw a yellow mare with wings, and tears on her eyes. "Mom!" Celestia shouted as she flied to hug her/cry on her chest. "I'm so sorry, I never meant to do this to you. I just..." "It's ok Tia," mom said with a calm voice tone while the raindrops continued to fall from her eyes, making them appear as pearls. "This means that we got infected, and this is your best attempt to keep us safe. I know you did this with the best intentions Tia." RING! RING! RING! My phone echoed from its charging spot. "One second," I spoke. "I'll come back." I headed to the living room, unplugged the phone and... Wait, how did I? I stared at the phone in front of me. It was levitating, enveloped by a blue aura, as well as my horn. I'll check that later; for now, I needed to answer the call. I touched the green button with my nose and placed an ear next to the microphone. "Hello," I spoke. "Who is..." "She's normal! She's normal!" Esther's voice boomed through the speaker. "Wait, who's normal?" I asked a bit confused. "Lara," she responded. "Lara is back to normal!" After all that happened through this hours, finally I get good news. Lara is normal again! After discussing the topic with Esther, mom and the fillies we reached a conclusion: the transformation only lasts while the virus is in your body. "Well," I said to the fillies. "It seems that you'll be able to visit your friend very, very soon." "Yey!" they cheerfully exclaimed, as I tried, but managed, to place bread into the toaster with my brand new magic. "Mom," I said to the white mare that was by my side. "We need to tell this to the public." "Wait, what!" she shouted. "If we don't, they're gonna find out through other ways. And we NEED to tell them that this is just temporary." Osvaldo was staring at Gregory, who was now a grey pony, with intrigue rather than concern. Gregory tried to say something, but was stopped by the director. "Don't say anything!" he exclaimed. "I think we have found a new way to continue our experiments." Gregory now stared at the director with fear, but quickly calmed down as Osvaldo said: "Don't worry, nothing regarding you, or any converted human. Just wait until people figure out that those fillies are responsible for this. At least, I'll be able to know how they did this." Meanwhile, the news were portraying: The Tylers accept the responsibility for the conversion of infected people into ponies.
