//------------------------------// // afterwords // Story: The Ghost of You // by Yuki Harima //------------------------------// Well I am really happy with the outcome of my story as it was my second story to get published on the site. The reason why I wrote it was to vent out a song that was stuck in my head and possibly create a series for me to write. The series will be based on songs with other characters I create and characters from the show. To me each character has a special song that represents them in a situation or just them in general. I have a ton of songs and a list of characters piling up right now as I write it out but I just can’t finish them. Songs pop up in my head and I start to type them…only to get distracted by another idea, life, school, and roommates. The character of you was originated to be you and not a pony I created. I wanted “you” to be…well you. I wanted you to feel like this is your OC witnessing this and being involved in the story. The trench coat was to hide his mane color and cutie mark. The sunglasses as well were to hide his/her eye color. I try to make “You” as genderless as possible so I can include male and female readers as well since I always see second POV stories based on males and not females. I might be using “you” in future stories I write that will involve with the whole music video/short story concept. I may not include “you” depending on the song. This story was going to be Shining Armor and a friend of his but I decided to use an original character because if it did have Shining Armor in it, I would have to include Princess Candace and Twilight in the group. It would be easier if I didn’t have to include them. Claymore is just a random pony in my head at the moment and was simple and basic for me to include without having to go into too much detail about his past. Style of writing: Well I wanted to have it as an interview because it gives us enough detail about Claymore and his humble beginnings. “You” is supposed to be mysterious and develop over the course of time with more of these short stories. I have plans but right now I have other stories to work on but if more people want me to do it then I will do it. The interview is a way for me to not divulge into too much details about “you” and more about the topic at hand. The song choice was chosen because of the message of losing a friend or brother in a battle or war. Whenever I hear the song I think about a group of friends talking the night before just staring into the sky. Then a battle happens the next day and the Acoustic version allows me to put more detail in the event about the battle and possible personify the song as well. If you guys have any questions or want to be involved in my story then just sent me a PM. If you guys want, I can also help you on your stories and possibly pre-read them. I am very helpful and approachable to stories. And lastly, if you favorite it or enjoyed reading it I would like to thank you for it and hope that I can see you read the next story I am going to publish.
