*Blizzardstar's POV*
One week after the disease outbreak, Rarity and I had opened a new boutique in Canterlot. But I had a nagging feeling that our assistant was up to something.
Rarity spoke "Ah! Sassy Saddles, good to meet you."
I think "I don't trust her..."
I was busy working on a dress to get my mind off Sassy since I didn't trust her.
Then Snowfire came to me. “Mommy? Are you okay?”
I spoke "I'm fine sweetheart, it's just I kinda don't trust Sassy..."
Snowfire asks "The new mare?"
I spoke "Yeah...."
Sassy asks "Uh Miss Rarity, who or what is that creature?"
Rarity spoke "Oh, this is my lifemate, Blizzardstar the Chakat. And this is our child, Snowfire the Ponykat."
My ears twitch in response since I was busy working on a dress.
Snowfire yawns.
Rarity spoke "Oh dear, it seems that Snowfire needs hir nap right now."
I spoke "I'll put hir down for a nap Rares, you focus on your work."
I pick Snowfire up and carry the cub to one of the back rooms for a nap.
Snowfire spoke "M-Momma... Thirsty..."
I pull out a bottle of milk for Snowfire.
"Here you go, sweetie." I said as Snowfire started drinking it.
Snowfire kept drinking until shi fell asleep.
I think "Guess I'm the second known chakat that married a pony...I wonder what happened to Maplewind..."
Little did Rarity, Snowfire and I know, Maplewind was wandering around Canterlot but shi was lost since hir mate had died 23 years ago.
Maplewind was wandering around when shi bumped into Twilight.
Maplewind spoke "Sorry miss."
Twilight spoke "Oh, no. I’m sorry."
Crosswind asks "Twilight? Is that you?"
Twilight spoke "Oh hi cousin Cross."
Crosswind asks "Twi, do you know who shi is?"
Twilight spoke "my memory's a touch bit fuzzy but I do remember my aunt Golden Gear... She disappeared a year after I was born."
Crosswind spoke "But shi’s actually my parent and your auncle, Maplewind."
A sharp kick from in Twilight's belly caused the alicorn to spazz out.
Twilight spoke "I'm going to go see a doctor shortly."
Crosswind spoke "Yeah, maybe you should."
Twilight spoke "Cheeky ponykat."
Crosswind scoffs "Yeah, whatever."
Twilight spoke "If this child turns out to be a chakat, I'm so going to strangle Sumarda..."
Crosswind spoke "But I don't think that even she would expect that."
Twilight spoke "I can't ask Danyelle though since her clairvoancy is still blocked."
Crosswind spoke "Yeah, but I have someone I need to talk to right now."
Twilight spoke "Okay Cross, I'll talk to you later then. How did that phrase go again? Oh right, tail high!"
Twilight left, leaving Maplewind and Crosswind alone.
Maplewind chuckles "She's a quick learner when it comes to new terms."
Crosswind asks "Well, she is one of the smart ones. But please tell me mom, why did you come back after leaving us over all these years?"
Maplewind spoke "After I lost Gear 18 years ago, I was so alone... I never took another lifemate..."
Maplewind started coughing up blood since hir body was starting to shut down.
Crosswind asks "You're dying, aren't you?"
Maplewind spoke "I'm 145 years old though... It's only fair..."
Crosswind asks "Shouldn't you at least see all of your family and friends one last time before you go?"
Maplewind spoke "I don't have much time left...."
Crosswind: spoke "Then I'll help gather everyone."
Maplewind spoke "I'm happy that you found *cough* love Crossy..."
The old chakat collapses.
Crosswind spoke "No! Don't leave yet, mom!"
Gingerheart and five other chakats immediately showed up via warp ring.
Swiftrunner spoke "Maple!"
Crosswind spoke "Mom needs help!"
Gingerheart spoke "First of all, calm down Crosswind."
Brightsong checked Maplewind for a pulse but found none.
Brightsong spoke "I'm sorry Cross but shi's gone...."
Crosswind spoke "No... I was too late..."
Brightsong spoke "There was nothing we could do Cross, shi was old..."
*Back at the boutique,*
I ask "Rares, you okay?"
Rarity spoke "No I'm not, Sassy put in 100 more orders for the princess dress!"
"Oh no... Don't tell me that they all have to be exactly the same." I dreaded.
Rarity spoke "Afraid so.... And since Snowfire's still young, I can't ask hir to help yet."
A worried Brightsong soon arrived.
Brightsong spoke "I have bad news about Cross... Hir chakat parent just passed away..."
That made me and Rarity freeze.
I ask "Old age?"
Brightsong spoke "Afraid so... Shi was 145 when she passed away..."
I spoke "I feel sorry for Crosswind.... But Rarity and I are seriously backed up on orders here..."
Brightsong asks "The Princess Dress?"
I spoke "Afraid so... The other dresses Rarity and I had made aren't being viewed... Every mare wants the princess dress. Plus it was a hassle talking Clarity into modelling it."
Brightsong asks "That really doesn't sound like you two. What happened to the great creative artistry?"
I groan "Sassy happened... She took full control of the store."
Brightsong spoke "Well, I can tell that she's trying to help. But maybe you two can use that artistry of yours to make unique and different outfits for everycreature to help Sassy Saddles see that fashion isn't a one-dress-runway."
I spoke "But the princess dresses all have to look the same..."
Brightsong asks "Who said anything about them being the princess dresses?"
Rarity spoke "Sassy did..."
Brightsong asks "So what?"
I spoke "She's going about it the wrong way. I think we should make a going out of business sale... This isn't working right."
Rarity spoke "I'll talk to Sassy."
"Should I go with you?" I asked.
Rarity spoke "Might as...."
Rarity got cut off by a loud crash followed by Libby's angry shouting.
Libby growls "I hate that half dog...."
"What happened?" I asked.
Libby growls "Clarity happened."
"I can tell. I'm asking what happened between you and her." I clarified.
Libby spoke "Training session gone wrong."
I spoke "SASSY!"
Sassy spoke "Oh, you called at the right time, darlings. Listen-"
I growl thus cutting Sassy off. "No Sassy, you listen to us. You're doing things the wrong way so this boutique is going out of business."
A confused Sassy asks "Pardon?"
Rarity spoke "I've been too focused on the one dress that it's affecting my dreams of running a boutique here in Canterlot."
I spoke "Broaden your horizons a bit and you'll go far."
Sassy stammers "W-What? B-But-"
Brightsong spoke "Sassy, you're a good pony but you're too focused on the one dress that gradually lost its uniqueness. What Rarity and Blizzardstar are trying to say is that if you focus on more styles, you'll be a successful businessmare."
I spoke "Bright's got a point Sassy."
Rarity spoke "I'm discontinuing the princess dress."
And it looks like that caught Sassy Saddles completely off guard.
Brightsong comforts Sassy.
After discontinuing the princess dress, Rarity and I shift the focus to the other dresses.
But then Sassy Saddles showed up with an apologetic expression.
I spoke "It's okay Sassy, we forgive you."
I soon noticed a larger than normal unicorn.
I spoke "Woah, that's a big unicorn..."
