My Little Pokémon

Quest for a new Typhlosion

Sinnoh. Eterna City. The Pokemon Festival. Day.

Over at Eterna City, one attraction involved a sort of Time Capsule event. Though it wasn't a capsule, more like a banner. A large and long banner that held various pictures that were plastered on. These pictures were memorabilia. From the past to the present as pictures were being taken to show the bonds between both worlds that have been made.

But Scootaloo, when observing this banner of pictures, came across one that involved a familiar Pokemon. It looked like Typhlosion at a first glance but there was something different about it.

The image was in black and white, showing its age as there wasn't any colour to it. But Scootaloo suspected that it shared a similar colour scheme to the Typhlosion evolution line. She mainly focused on the flames that were around Typhlosin's neck, something which she has never seen before.

"Who's that Pokemon?" Scootaloo wondered. "Is it Typhlosion?"

"It is Typhlosion. Good eye." The vendor who set up the picture replied to Scootaloo once he saw her focus on the picture involving Typhlosion and the old lady next to it.

"Wow...but it looks a bit different from the Typhlosion I know. Is that a new form?" The filly pegasus asked.

"It is. That right there is a Hisuian Typhlosion."

"Hisuian Typhlosion?" Scootaloo repeated as the vendor revealed the name of this alternate Typhlosion. Not only was Scootaloo right on the mark for spotting the correct species but she even saw that it was a new form. A regional form to be exact. "Sweet. So there's something different from the normal Typhlosion out there...and I could have it!"

She gasped, realizing that she had a Quillava. This could potentially mean that a new evolution could emerge for her Pokemon when he finally fully evolves.

"Oh...sorry about that." The vendor rubbed the back of his head, having some bad news for Scootaloo which had to be said for her own good. "That's not possible. Not anymore."

"Huh? Why not?" Her excitement drastically dropped.

"Truth is, Hisuian Typhlosion isn't around anymore. This picture is of my great-grandmother and her Hisuian Typhlosion around 150 years ago. This was when Sinnoh was called Hisui before changing its name."

"But it's still the same region, right? How's that stopping me from getting a new Typhlosion?"

"The region's changed over the years, my little pony.. That goes with certain conditions. Eterna City used to be a forest in the past, for example. And thanks to those conditions, Hisuian Typhlosion isn't a possibility anymore." The vendor continued to explain, giving the biggest reason as to why this form of Typhlosion wasn't possible anymore. "If you evolved your Pokemon here, you'd just end up with a normal Typholosion."

"Aw..." Naturally, Scootaloo was bummed out by this, sitting down with her ears dropping. "It would've been so cool to have a new Typhlosion through. Can I at least wait for one to show up?"

"Yeah, if you want to wait a hundred more years for something Sinnoh to change." The vendor couldn't give her any better options. If Scootaloo was to wait a hundred more years, then perhaps, Sinnoh's surroundings would change to benefit her Quilava.

"Fooey..." The pegasus pouted. There went her chances. "150 years too late? Lame..."

"What's stopping you from trying to have one?" But just then, a third-party individual had joined in on this conversation, speaking with an eerie voice and grabbing the attention of both Scootaloo and the vendor. This voice belonged to the once again elusive and mysterious lady with crimson eyes and green hair.

The witch. She once again showed up someone was curious about something, not making a sound at first before popping up. This was one of those scenarios where the concept of Hisuian Typhlosion was too big for Scootaloo to ignore.

"Huh? What do you mean?" Scootaloo was not bothered by the appearance of this witch, who was now dressed up as a humble shopkeeper, wearing a different hat as always.

"Why try and give up so soon? For all you know it could still be possible. You're in the Sinnoh Region after all." The witch replied, putting on a smirk.

"Uh, sorry miss. But I already told her it's not possible." The vendor shrugged, shaking his head. "Sinnoh's changed a lot since then and having a Hisuian Typhlosion isn't possible anymore."

"Is it?" She quickly replied with a striking question that was short but effective. And with that smirk on her face, the witch was fully on the side of Hisuian Typhlosion being a complete possibility even to this day.

"Yeah...Right?" Now the vendor was curious. Judging by the tone of her voice, the witch possibly knew something. "Hang on, of course it's not possible. There hasn't been a sighting of a Hisuian Typhlosion for years now."

"Maybe not now. But that can change." The witch raised her finger, having more to say. "Even if Sinnoh has changed over the years, there are still mysteries in this beautiful world that have yet to be uncovered. Perhaps...there's a place where your Quilava can become a Hisuian Typhlosion"

"Wait. How'd you know I had a Quilava?" Scootaloo asked.

"Child. I'd suggest going to Mount Coronet. Even to this day, a plethora of landmarks, no matter how long it has been, retain something special about them."

"What's so special about Mount Coronet?" The little pony questioned once more.

"Oh, right! I get it now!" The vendor was catching on. "In the past, a professor by the name of Laventon discovered that something over at Mount Coronet influenced a Cyndaquil that once lived there. They lived on the mountain for so long that it's said a magical power from the mountain entered them. But you can't find a Cyndaquil at Mount Coronet anymore."

"So then it is possible!" Scootaloo stood up as her excitement and hope had been reignited.

"I guess so now that you brought it up. But you'd still need a lot of time for a Hisuian Typhlosion to show up. You'd have to practically live at Mount Coronet for your entire life if you want the magic to enter your Cyndaquill.

"Aw...it would still take some time?" Scootaloo grumbled, realizing that time was a major factor in all of this. "There's gotta be a quicker way. But...Maybe it's changed now over the years. It's settled! I'm going to Mount Coronet!"

"Well...no argument against that." The vendor shrugged. "Go for it kid."

"I will! Thanks, by the way, miss-" But the second Scootaloo turned around to face the witch, just like before with everyone else she's interacted with, she was gone. Without a sound or even a trace of her. "Huh...? Where'd she go?"

"Uh well anyway..." The vendor was dazed for a moment before looking at Scootaloo. "I guess your chance to get Hisuian Typhlosion is viable. It's just that it's so rare, many wouldn't think it was ever real."

"I'll make it real. You see, I'm entering the Equestria league to become Equestria's first-ever Champion. Even if I don't win, I'll wow the crowd with my Hisuian Typhlosion. So I'll make it well-known, that's for sure." Scootaloo took out one of her Poke Balls, holding Quilava's Poke Ball and looking at it deeply.

"Neat. But...could you do me a favour down the road?" The vendor asked, scratching his face as he had something to request. "Since you're going for a Hisuian Typhlosion, it'd be great if one day, you could send a photo of you and Typhlosion to me. My grandma would be reminded about great-grandma's picture."

"I'll remember." Scootaloo took no issue in that. She would do a favour for this vendor as it wasn't out of the realm of possibility for a Cutie Mark Crusader. Though, this request might take a while. Afterwards, Scootalo rushed off to inform her friends and had to Mount Coronet.

The goal was to embed Quilava with the enigmatic magic that resides within Mount Coronet.

"We're going to Mount Coronet?" After being informed of it, Sweetie Belle replied to Scootaloo as all of her friends had been told about the potential new evolution of Quilava.

"That's right. All we gotta do is have Quilava filled with some of that Coronet Magic. And later down the road, Hisuian Typhlosion's gonna make his grand debut. I can see it now." Scootaloo then looked to the skies, imagining how Hisuian Typhlosion would appear.

She instantly thought of Quilava evolving during a big battle. Whether it was against a rival or even during another serious event similar to the invasion. Either way, she wanted it to be big in every way.

"But how long is it gonna take for Hisuian Typhlosion to show up?" Apple Bloom asked. "You said that it'll take some time."

"Yeah. It'll take some time for Quilava to evolve. I betcha that when we get to Mount Coronet, Quilava's gonna be filled up with some magic." Scootaloo nodded, in full belief that this plan would work. "This has to work. I really want that Typhlosion. So will you girls help me get that magic inside Quilava?"

"Sure thing. But after that, I'll have a favour of my own." Diamond Tiara smirked, bringing about her own personal wants after the Mount Coronet event. "You remember the Canterlot Junior Cup, right? I tried using Copycat on a Z-Move but it failed miserably."

"I totally remember that." Sweetie Belle tried holding in her laughter. "That was pretty funny. A shame it can't copy everything, right?"

"Hmph. That's what you think. But I found something interesting out from Miss Roxanne." However, Diamond Tiara rapidly responded, ready to reveal something. "Turns out, there's a special Z-Move for Copycat, among other things."

She shocked everyone before then reminiscing on what Roxanne told her back at the Pokemon School. It was weeks ago right after school was finishing. Everyone was heading home but Diamond Tiara stayed behind to receive some special information from Roxanne out of her own curiosity.

"I saw that you tried to use Copycat on a Z-Move. Sadly, that won't do...Unless you have the right Z-Crystal for it." Roxanne dropped something big for Diamond Tiara, grabbing the young earth pony's attention.

"The right Z-Crystal? There's a Z-Crystal that's like Copycat?!" With her pupils expanding with stars appearing in them, Diamond Tiara was ready to improve her arsenal. This was her chance to do so by hearing what Roxanne had to say.

"Well, it's actually just the Normalium Z, but depending on what moves your Pokemon has, the Normalium Z can create exclusive and somewhat rare Z-Moves. Such as Z-Swords, Z-Disable, Z-Perish Song and so much more. Not many people know this but the Normalium Z is the most effective Z-Crystal out of all them, much like how Normal-Types have the most versatile options out of any other type."

"Wow...So not only can I have Z-Copycat...I could potentially have more Z-Normal-Type moves at my disposal." This was a massive breakthrough for Diamond Tiara. Ideas were brewing in her head. "And all I need is the Normalium Z, right?!"

"Yes. And more Pokemon that have access to certain moves. Since the Normalium Z is so standard and most trainers only know about Breakneck Blitz, if you have access to the other Normal-Type Z-Moves, you'll blindside any opponent." Roxanne winked as she gave Diamond Tiara a massive advantage.

An advantage that not many others would have. All she needed was one Z-Crystal to make it happen. Of course, she would have to catch more Pokemon to fulfil her plans, so that was noted as well. The possibilities were endless.

Such was the beauty of the Normal-Type.

"Oh yeah. I'd be the biggest wild card. Jack of all Trades, master of...well I'd like to be the master of all those Normal Z-Moves." Diamond Tiara rubbed her hooves together while having a bright grin.

"I didn't even know the Normalium Z could do all of that." Silver Spoon adjusted her glasses before realizing she could use this to her advantage. "I've got a Normal-Type too actually. But I guess it's the movepool that matters instead of the type."

"So, we're gonna do that. But not before catching a bunch of Pokemon. Here's a list." Diamond Tiara had a list of Pokemon she wanted to catch so that she could use the Normalium Z on all of them. And when pulling it out of her saddlebag, it was revealed to be a long list.

The fillies all watched the list roll on the ground with multiple names popping up. It was fairly extensive as it could wrap around all of them two times.

"We'll start alphabetically." Diamond Tiara said. "Good thing every Normal-Type fits a majority of the alphabet. At least from the ones I know."

"Hang on. I get you wanna get the Normalium Z by why is it only Normal-Type Pokemon?" Apple Bloom soon noticed how every Pokemon on this list were Normal-Types with only a few of them having secondary typings. From Aipom to Zigzagoon.

"Yeah. Every Pokemon can learn a Normal-Type move." Scootaloo added. "Why not catch different Pokemon of different types?"

"Only if I'm not using a Z-Crystal on them. Plus, some Pokemon might make a mess of the house thanks to their typings. If I catch Normal-Types, they won't make that much of a mess since they don't have any special quirks to them. They're just normal. Plus, they've got the most variety of Normal-Type moves so there's that."

"Fair enough." The fillies all agreed with Diamond Tiara's reasoning.

"Hang on. Your mom has a Seviper though." Only for Silver Spoon to remember that her mother owned a Seviper which was a Poison-Type.

"Ahh...but Seviper doesn't spew Poison out constantly." Diamond Tiara instantly replied with a reason as to why Seviper was an exception.

"Okay! Let's head to Mount Coronet first! It can't be too hard to miss! It's right over there in the far distance!" Scootaloo aimed her hoof upwards, showing the massive mountain in the distance. Since Mount Coronet was so massive, many could see it from afar, faintly masked by the azure skies and the clouds.

It was off to Mount Coronet.

Unova. Opelucid City. Day.

Over at Opelucid, the vampires were still around. They continued to stay hidden within the crowd of ponies. At this moment, Canterlot guards were more focused on finding Galaxy Master but they would keep an eye out for vampires still.

Spectrum Shade's group had reached Opelucid City, enjoying themselves while also trying to find a way to search for Yveltal leads. Legendary Pokemon were certainly elusive and lived up to their status.

"Nothing on Yveltal yet...but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't having the time of my life." Opal Vivactiy commented, drinking a nice cold soda. "But, very soon, I might get something. The humans I've controlled should find at least something."

"It's strange how they haven't come back with anything yet though." Sweet Fang commented while looking at a Pokemon picture book that grabbed her attention. "A few months back, the humans you controlled at Kalos ran into a dead end."

"Yveltal is a very rare Pokemon. So rare that any information about it is only limited to what it can do and the places it once affected. But even so..." Opal sighed. "Those places no longer have Yveltal around. It goes anywhere, honestly. All we know is that Kalos is the place that it lives at."

"Maybe instead of using the humans to try and find Yveltal, we can try something else. There might be a demon from the Box of 100 Demons that could do it. Maybe?" Sweet Fang suggested.

"No, no, no. There's not a demon there that can find Yveltal sadly. Unless those human pawns can find something about Yveltal or something else, this might as well be an endless chase for one Pokemon. The Black Crusade will have to wait yet again. What do you think, Spectrum?"

"Hm?" Spectrum Shade was focused on her Poke Ball, thinking about the battle between Bertha and Rainbow Dash before looking over at Opal Vivacity. "Oh well, we gotta keep trying. That's all I can say. Besides, Melody and BIttersweet got some small crystals from that strange rock, didn't they? Queen Rosa's probably looking at them now to do something."

"But from how much time has passed, it's possible those rocks don't do a thing to help us find Yveltal." Sweet Fang shrugged before slumping on the chair. "We might as well just resort to try and get into Twilight's head again."

"There'll be something. There has t be. Queen Rosa will always find a way. Though...there's one thing we could resort to, now that I think about it." Opal adjusted her sunhat before looking to the skies. "Perhaps, what we need to do is bring Yveltal out."

"Bring Yveltal out?" Sweet Fang and Spectrum Shade repeated.

"That's right. If Xerneas is Yveltal's opposite, then both will only show up under certain circumstances. That beautiful-looking deer Pokemon brings life when it's needed. But Yveltal will take it away when it's needed. Perhaps, we need to try something like that."

"You mean...Give life? U, how are we gonna do that?" Spectrum Shade questioned.

"I don't know a spell for it. Such a spell would go against everything in the world. But then again, our wonderful queen has access to a library of dark and forbidden spells that involve horrible things." Opal Vivacity stood up. "I have something new planned. Can you hear me, your majesty?"

"I can hear you clearly, Opal." By using telepathy from afar, Opal Vivacity reached Lich Queen Rosa Maledicta to speak with her. "What you said is interesting...Bringing life to force Yveltal out."

"That's right. I suggest that we try and bring about as much life as we can to the point where it's too much for the world. Let this world suffer from success if you will. Let it brim with life and thus, Yveltal will show itself, cleansing this world of the overwhelming numbers. This great cleansing is sure to bring it out."

"That's a tall order though." Sweet Fang secretly took Opal's soda without her looking. "I mean, can we even bring life? Can her majesty do that?"

"That's a good question. Can you, Queen Rosa"? Opal asked.

"I specialize in the Dark Forbidden Arcane Arts. Everything I do is a complete antithesis to all things good as most said to me when I used to be at Canterlot. Nothing I have can bring life at all."

"Ah. That's a shame." Opal lowered her head in disappointment. It looked like that plan was out of the question.

"Of course, that's what forbidden magic is meant for. Possibly, there exists a spell that can do so. The variety of magic is endless and knows no limit. From what you've suggested, Opal, we'll need to find the right way to bring about a mass production of life that will be a detriment to the Pokemon World. Yveltal must bring balance after all."

"Then should we head out and find that spell?" Opal requested.

"If we can't find a spell for that, then we might have to control every human and Pokemon on this planet and let them get busy." Sweet Fang wiggled her eyebrows.

"Don't waste your time with that now. I have something better. Right now, I'm still planning on doing something with these crystals. But I believe I can make some adjustments. Opal, you'll be needed back at the Dark Chamber. Not right now, but it'll be a vital part of this plan."

"Understood. I suppose you want me to prepare something new for the pods?"

"That's right. This time, we'll use the pods to duplicate every time somepony combusts and returns there. The Necrobeams will still sap away at any magic except ours but we can use some of their power on the pods."

"Using the pods to bring life? Hmm...I've never done something like that." Opal shook her hand. "But it'll be a first time for everything~! I'll make sure that those pods duplicate our vampires constantly. Might need a room expansion though."

"What about everything else? Those rocks and the Pony of Shadows?" Spectrum Shade joined in on the telepathic communication.

"Every plan is still in action. The Necrobeams will help to take all magic power away when we advance on Equestria and the world. The Pony of Shadows is our ace in the hole if things go awry. We're still focusing on our 5-month plan. By now, we only have 4 months left till everything is ready. But before that, I'm feeling a bit bored."

"Oh, I know what this means!" Sweet Fang gasped. "You're looking for some excitement, your majesty! Don't worry! I know what to do! Let's make new skeletons before the Black Crusade! How's that sound?"

"I would love to do that." Rosa sounded pleased by that. "It's been a while since I've taken the life of many others. And I rarely get out anymore. A girl needs to be outgoing sometimes. The Pokemon Festival also has a large crowd too..."

"We'll be waiting for you, your majesty." Opal finished the telepathic conversation as she and the other vampires would be expecting her appearance very soon.

Rosa Maledicta was coming to the Pokemon Festival.

The Dread Lague continue to work from shadows as always as various plans for their ultimate goal were constantly being put in place. Rosa Maledicta had many plans and contingencies especially. Even if they couldn't find Yveltal, those plans were still available and effective. 4 Months remained until they would make their big move.

The Black Crusade.

Sinnoh. Mount Coronet. Afternoon.

Mount Coronet.

A sacred mountain that was capped the year round with snow. It is the highest mountain in the Sinnoh Region and a part of a long mountain range that divides the region in half. This mountain boasted such an amazing history that it is said that this was where Sinnoh began. This mountain was the crux and origin of the Sinnoh Region to many.

Mount Coronet stood majestically in the middle of Sinnoh, extending from the northern wilderness to the southern tip of the region, splitting it into two halves. It was truly best defined as a mountain range, with the highest peak shrouded in legend even to this day, reaching so high up that it pierced the clouds themselves. It was perhaps the highest mountain in the entire Pokemon World with nothing being its equal.

Scootaloo's group stood before this titanic mountain as Silver Spoo held out a map that detailed Mount Coronet a bit. And it certainly wasn't a safe mountain from what she was reading.

The goal was simple. Have Quilava receive special magic from Mount Coronet. Years ago, the Cyndaquil that lived here took years to have the magic enter them, resulting in the birth of Hisuian Typhlosion. But over the years that has changed with no Cyndaquils being around this mountain range.

Scootaloo had a Quilava which was a step above Cyndaquil. Encouraged by the mysterious witch, she was ready to see if that magic could still affect her Quilava at this stage. Possibly even faster than the Cyndaquil. There was only one way to find out, obviously.

But Mount Coronet would be a juggernaut of a place for them to explore. The fillies weren't aware of it yet but this mountain would truly test them as Pokemon Trainers, the same way the Canterlot Junior Cup tested some of them.

As the journey continues.

Chapter 861 End.
