Equestria Girls: Disney Odyssey: Fantasia

by Mister V

The Land of Myths/"Symphony No. 6 ("Pastoral") , Op. 68, I Allegro ma non troppo"

"The symphony that Beethoven called the Pastoral, his sixth, is one of the few pieces of music he ever wrote that tells something like a definite story." Deems Taylor began. "He was a great nature lover, and in this symphony, he paints a musical picture of a day in the country."

"Now, of course, the country that Beethoven described was the countryside with which he was familiar." Mr. V added. "But his music covers a much wider field than that, and so Walt Disney has given the Pastoral Symphony a mythological setting, and that setting is of Mount Olympus, the abode of the gods."

"And here, first of all, we meet a group of fabulous creatures of the field and forest, unicorns, fauns, Pegasus, the flying horse, and his entire family, the centaurs, those strange creatures that are half-man and half-horse. And their girlfriends, the centaurettes." Deems replied. "Later on, we meet our old friend, Bacchus, the god of wine, presiding over a bacchanal. The party is interrupted by a storm, and now, we see Vulcan forging thunderbolts and handing them over to the king of all the gods, Zeus, who plays darts with them."

"As the storm clears, we see Iris, the goddess of the rainbow." Mr. V stated. "And Apollo, driving his sun chariot across the sky. And then Morpheus, the god of sleep, covers everything with his cloak of night, as Diana, using the new moon as a bow, shoots an arrow of fire that spangles the sky with stars." Our group emerges from the portal as Applejack admired her trumpet while transporting makeshift incubator filled with dinosaur eggs back to Trinity's house with a note to Sheldon and Spiritina, asking them to take care of the eggs inside.

"Your trumpet is truly beautiful." Rarity said to her friend happily.

"Thanks, Rarity." Applejack said in gratitude before turning to Ayla. "Ayla, I just gotta say that it was very brave of you to give up a chance to return home for us."

"Ioka brave when join new tribe." Ayla replied. "Ayla always keep Kino and Ioka in heart always."

"Truer words could not be spoken." Louis said before clearing his throat. "Anyway, our next stop is Beethoven's sixth symphony, better known as his Pastoral Symphony."

"Oh, that one is my favorite." Fluttershy replied with enthusiasm. "It's so soothing for the soul."

"Is there anything we should know before the music starts?" Sunset asked in curiosity.

"As a matter of fact, there is." Louis began with a small chuckle. "The world made from the Pastoral Symphony is set in the time of ancient Greece, including all of the legends and myths centered around it."

"You mean like the gods of Mount Olympus and that sort of stuff?" Rainbow Dash asked in curiosity.

"Yup, it's got all the trimmings of a Greek Story." Louis answered with a smile. "And we will be going at a good time, since they are preparing for a big festival held every year near the base of Mount Olympus."

"Sounds like fun!" Pinkie Pie replied with a smile. "Let's get started."

"Alright, Maestro, proceed." Louis said as the conductor began to play the music.

Within moments, the orchestra faded away and was replaced with an open field with trees, bushes and a huge mountain towering over everyone. Our group was speechless by the beauty around them, simply wanting to enjoy the serenity of it all, until they saw a herd of unicorns raced by and went over a hill.

"Unicorns." Sunset began in amazment. "Those were unicorns, just like I was."

"Do you suppose they know anyone from Equestria?" Pinkie Pie asked in curiosity.

"I don't think so." Sunset replied with a bit of uncertainty. "Princess Celestia once told me that unicorns and pegasi left Equestria to live in other worlds, and that those who knew of their home in Equestria are long gone. Still, it wouldn't hurt to see where they're going."

"Then let's go." Twilight said as the group went over hill to see the uncorns playing with satyrs, woodland creatures who had the head and body of a man but the legs of a goat. The unicorns and satyrs didn't seem to be frightened by the arrival of the group. Everyone soon had fun and played together out in the fields.

"Hey, these guys are friendly." Spike said in joy as be stopped by a small column with a satyr on top of it. It played it's panflute a few times before freezing as Spike turned to see him, trying to pretend that he's a statue.

"And quite mischievous." Trinity replied with a giggle as some of the unicorns licked her face and Applejack's hands.

(Pause at 1:10)

"And their tongues feel like sand paper." Applejack relied with a bit of a laugh.

"This place is amazing!" Pinkie Pie said in amazement, just as shadows passed over them. The group looked up to see a black pegasus stallion flying though the skies, followed by many multicolored pegasus foals. They also saw a white pegasus mare in a nest with a black pegasus foal under her wing.

"Wow!" Sunset said in wonder. "A pegasus family. They look amazing."

"And such beautiful feathers!" Rarity said in awe as the black pegasus foal jumped out of the nest in hopes of flying, only to fall and land one a lower branch with a dissaproved look on his face.

(Pause at 1:45)

"Looks like he's trying to fly." Spike with a chuckle.

(Resume Video)

"I think he's going to try again." Louis said as the foal jumped off the branch in hopes of flying, only to fall again and land into the arms of Fluttershy with a look of irritation on his face.

(Pause at 1:53)

"Oh, don't worry." Fluttershy said in assurance. "It takes some time to perfect flying."

The mother then came down before them and nuzzeled her foal caringly. She then picked the foal up by the tail and held on until the foal was in the air.

"I think he's really going to fly this time." Sunset said with excitment as the mare let go of the foal's tail and nudged him up. The foal then grabbed his own tail and pulled it up just to make doubly sure that it would say airborn this time.

"Smart move." Pinkie Pie said with pride. "I'd have done the same thing if I were him."

(Pause at 2:18)

"Just look at them." Fluttershy said in awe. "They are so beautiful."

(Resume Video)

"Indeed they are." Trinity said as the pegasus family flew through the sky with relative easem joined by the black stallion. They flew over the clouds and past entire flocks of birds. They looked like elegant dancers as they soared through the sky. Then they descended from the and landed gently into the water with the little black foal making a small dive before resurfacing.

(Pause at 3:03)

"Aw, that was so cute." Fluttershy said with a giggle.

(Resume Video)

"Why we not join them for swim?" Ayla asked before diving into the water. No one seemed to object, so they found a place to slip into their swimming suits and dived into the water. Even Jiminy and Spike dived in to enjoy the clear blue water. Like the unicorns and satyrs, the pegasus weren't afraid of our heroes joining them in the pool. Suddenly, more pegususes decended from the sky and landed softly into the cool waters. There must have been thousands of them coming down from every direction, much to the awe of our heroes.

"As I live and breath." Jiminy Cricket said in amazment. "That's the most amazing thing I've seen."

(Pause at 3:44)

"Yeah, I've never seen this many pegasi before in Equestria." Sunset replied with wide eyes.

(Resume Video)

"Yeah, this is a pretty amazing sight to see." Louis added with a smile. Soon, everyone had lots of fun with the pegasi. Many of the foals even dived into the water from a nearby rock to make big splashes. The group enjoyed the cool of the water, the warmth of the sun, and the music of the satyrs playing sweet notes with their panflutes. Soon, our heroes decided that it was time to get out of the water to dry off.

"Well, that was fun." Pinkie said in satisfaction.

"I'll say." Fluttershy replied. "So, what now?"

"What do you say we go explore?" Sunset asked in curiosity for what else this world holds. "There's no telling what else is here. And we should probably see what it has to offer."

"That's a good idea." Trinty said as the group said goodbye to their friends and went into the forest to explore it and to see what it has to offer.
