//------------------------------// // Chapter XIII - Avoiding the end. (Part I) // Story: The Legend Starts // by 654_nosneb //------------------------------// "So they created another magical being!" I shouted as Clarissa ended her explanation. "It seems so," the lawyer exclaimed. "And according to my friend that works at researchinc, they are planning to kill him tomorrow in order to drain his magic from him." "THEY ARE GONNA!" I shouted, but in the last second, I was able to contain myself. "We have to help him!" "But how are we going to do such a thing?" my mom asked. "I've some ideas." I responded with a smile growing on my face. "I thought that you got rid of that bird." my mom exclaimed. "Yeah, but it wasn't my idea, it was hers." I said pointing to the bird at my shoulder, which gave me a confused look after I said that lie. We were on the car, heading to researchinc in order to conduct what I called: the phoenix burns the lab, which was a pretty self descriptive name if you ask me. Yesterday we decided to go today to rescue discord, and make sure he isn't killed today. Not long ago, this bird would have killed me instead of following one of my orders. But now, she is as friendly to me as she is with the fillies. We left the girls at home. They were probably still sleeping. I don't wanna bring them here, even though their magic could be useful. Also, no one, not even researching knew about Philomena, so she will be perfect for this. "And remember," I was explaining to the bird. "Don't burn anyone, just some parts in the exterior to force an evacuation so we can get in and rescue this: Discord." "William, it's just a bird, she can't understand you." mom said. "Oh you clearly don't know what Philomena is capable of." I responded. Then, something REALLY weird happened. The sun set extremely quickly an it was suddenly night! Just to rise again in order to let the sunshine bath the city again. "What the..." None of us had time to react to this, beacouse another weird event took control of the environment. Liquid CHOCOLATE began to fall from the sky. We were all speechless at the display of events before us. If we weren't so close to researchinc, I could have swear that our vehicle would have crashed upon something. The door of the building was replaced with 2 giant playing cards, and in front of them there was the amorphous being called Discord that I saw in the photo Clarissa showed us. He was being fired not just from scientists from researchinc, but also by soldiers. But the bullets transformed into cotton balls as soon as they touched him. We went out of our car, and then the creature emitted a blinding flash and he disappeared. "NOOOO!" director Osvaldo shouted. "HE WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING! HUMANITY IS DOOMED!" We were about to ask him some questions, but he soon became aware of our presence. "YOU! YOU CAUSED THIS!" he shouted while pointing a finger to us. "YOU FREED HIM!" "No!" I answered to him, which was true since we didn't do it... yet. "Could you explain what's going on! I sense the weird climate and Discord's escape happening at the same time aren't just simple coincidence." He stared at me with anger on his eyes, an anger that was not rational, but the most pure anger y ever saw on someone's face. Then he spoke: "We tried to recreate your father's success with those fillies. We already discovered a way to drain their magic from them, and we would have used them, if it wasn't for their escape and your... 'help'. But when we tried it on Discord we stumbled with the fact that his magic was just too unstable to deal with, that apparently caused an explosion that freed him." "And how does it explains this crazy weather?" I asked. "His magical powers are beyond space and time. He is almost as powerful as 'Celestia' or 'Luna'. With him free, I expect our solar system to be destroyed in a matter of hours. As I said: HUMANITY IS DOOMED!" he shouted before leaving out of the place shouting things in languages I don't even know existed. He left us with more doubts than answers. Upon seeing the end of humanity mom started to cry, and I almost followed her example, until I remembered that there might be some hope for humanity: Celestia and Luna. "Mom," I said to her as I hugged her. "We've to go back home, we still have something to do." "Wha-what?" she asked. "Well," I never thought I'll ever say this. "Save the world!"
