My Little Pokémon

Future Gym Leader

Kalos. Anistar City. Anistar City Gym. The Pokemon Festival. Day.

Currently, Paul was facing off against Anistar City's Gym Leader, Olympia. The Dazzlings watched as a Future Gym Leader in the making was having a fierce battle with Olympia.

Paul was in the lead so far, taking control of this battle. But, Olympia was going down so easily. Just what Paul wanted if he was going to become a Gym Leader. It was currently his Metagross and Froslass against Olympia's Slowking and Sigilyph. A Hail had been brought up, bringing out Froslass' Snow Cloak.

"This will prove to be troublesome..." Olympia assessed everything that's happened so far. "His Pokemon have great responses to mine so far.

"Now, Metagross! Meteor Mash! Froslass, Ic Beam!"

"Ta...Meta!"

"Hold them both back with Psychic and Heat Wave!"

"Slowking!" Slowking, who had been previously poisoned by Drapion, held its arms out, sending a powerful Psychic blast whilst Sigilyph had sent a smouldering wave of heat.

Metagross's hand illuminated both white as the silhouette of a golden meteor appears around its hand and it punches the opponent. Metagross came charging in with a blur aura, moving with the ferocity of a meteor whilst Froslass unleashed a chilling beam of ice alongside Metagross.

Ice Beam and Heat Wave connected. Heat Wave managed to hold back the beam of ice, however, Slowking was unable to hold Metagross back. The Steel-Psychic-Type crashed into Slowking at full force, resulting in a blue explosion as golden stars could be seen flying out after the impact.

And out of the stars and explosion, Slowking was sent flying, rolling on the frozen ground. It slid for a bit on the ice before then running out of steam to continue. Slowking had fainted.

"Slowking..."

"Slowking is unable to battle! Metagross wins!" The referee said as finally, one Pokemon from one side had fallen. In this case, it was Olympia's Pokemon. That was one victory for Paul.

"Return, please, Slowking. And good job." Olympia returned Slowking before swapping Poke Balls.

"You should return too, Metagross." Suddenly, Paul had returned Metagross as well. He only needed Metagross to perform one action before holding out another Poke Ball. This would force Olympia to guess which Pokemon would be next. Would he send Drapion out again or bring out someone new?

"Now, it's your turn! Reuniclus!"

"Gyarados! Standby for battle!" Both had revealed their next Pokemon. For Paul, it was his Gyarados and for Olympia, she had revealed her Reuniclus.

"Shouldn't he have swapped his Froslass out instead of that Metagross?" Adagio questioned. "Metagross seems too good to recall and that Froslass is too fragile."

"Such is the mystery of a Pokemon Trainer." Sonata shrugged. "They make some strange decisions that only they get most of the time.

"That's why Paul's so good, duh," Aria replied. "Years of experience will make any decision look strange to the eyes. We're not watching a Trainer from Equestria battle anymore.

"Let's keep this up! Gyarados! Ice Fang! Froslass, Shadow Ball!"

"Gyara!" Gyarados coated its fangs in ice before slithering towards Sigilyph. Meanwhile, Froslass disappeared into the hail, masking herself to get the jump on Reuniclus.

"Hm. Fire Punch, Reuniclus! Sigilyph! Ascend and use Sky Power Gem!"

"Reuniclus!" Reuniclus ignited its arms with an aura of fire before then waiting for Froslass to approach. Meanwhile, Sigilyph had ascended with Gyarados doing the same to pursue its fellow Flying-Type.

"Sigilyph!" Meanwhile, Sigilyph unleashed a barrage of gems, trying to push Gyarados away. Gyarados had been stopped, forced to bite at the rocks, freezing them.

"Gyara!" Gyarados froze the rocks, but some of them crashed into the Atrocious Pokemon, forcing it to fly back for a bit. It was a successful defence by Sigilyph.

Meanwhile, Froslass hid in the Hail, swiftly moving with complete stealth. It aimed to attack from behind. However, Reuniclus was ready for Froslass, knowing that she was using the Hail and her Ability Snow Cloak to her advantage.

"Now!"

"Reu!" Just then, Reuniclus had swung its fist, hitting the air instead of Froslass. But that was all according to plan. Once it swung its strong arms, Renuiclus sent a powerful stream of fire that had blitzed through some of the hail. The stream of fire was made massive thanks to Reunicles amazing arm strength, almost forming into a tornado before then melting away some of the ice on the ground.

"Lass?!" Froslass gasped, immediately backing away once it felt the heat. That moment of shock was enough to expose the Ice-Ghost-Type. That left her wide open as Reuniclus delivered a blindside strike to Froslass with Fire Punch. "F-Fros!"

A direct hit with a blazing force. Reuniclus' physical strength helped greatly with this impact as Froslass tumbled on the melted ice floor. Snow Cloak couldn't help her against Reuniclus' heavy blow. And once she fell over, Froslass was the next Pokemon to faint.

"Froslass..."

"Froslass is unable to battle! Reuniclus wins!" Now that Froslass had been defeated, the Hail had disappeared, no longer beating down on the others. The area was clear again along with all the ice on the ground being melted away.

"Thank you, Froslass. Return." Froslass had been called back by Paul. Now it was even, but Paul aimed to keep the odds back in his favour. First, he had to do something about Sigilyph, who was stubbornly hanging in there. He had the right Pokemon for the job. "Electivire! Standby for Battle!"

"Electivire!" His Electivire would do the trick.

"Oh. In that case...return, Sigilyph." Just then, Olympia had returned Sigilyph, throwing a wrench in Paul's plan. "Come out, Gothitelle!"

"Gothitelle!"

"It's not often I get to use the rest of my Pokemon in battle. Many people usually see me with my Meostic. So this was already fun for me when you chose this rule, Paul."

"Hmph. You're welcome." Paul smiled back in response. "Too bad that's not going to stop me from crushing all of them one by one. Electivire! Thunder Punch! Gyarados, Hyper Beam!"

"Electivire!" Electivire went ahead, approaching Sigilyph while Gyarados would focus all of its efforts on blasting Gothitelle with a full-powered beam.

"Prepare yourselves! Reuniclus, Fire Punch! Gothitelle, stand your ground against Hyper Beam!"

"Goth!" Gothitelle would embrace this attack, waiting for the right command. As for Electivire, he and Reuniclus entered a fierce clash with both of their fists colliding. The two of them went back as sparks of electricity and fire were sent flying everywhere. They went back and forth with both arms being swung at great force and intensity.

"Elec!" Electivire landed a successful hit against Reuniclus, smashing it in the face with Thunder Punch as Reuniclus spun around from that hit. It had then retaliated with an equally hard hit by swinging at Electivire's face.

"Reu!"

As for Gyarados, it finally unleashed Hyper Beam at a seemingly defenceless Gothitelle, releasing it in the form of a massive beam. Gothitelle looked the beam in the eyes but she wouldn't just stand there and take it. Olympia was waiting for the right time. And that time was now.

"Mirror Coat, now!"

"Thitelle!" The beam had hit Gothitelle, directly. But in that split second the attack had connected, Gothitelle's body lit up, reflecting the attack right back at Gyarados.

"Gya!" Gyarados had been hit by its own attack, resulting in a fierce explosion. It was just as fast as it had travelled over to Gothitelle, possibly faster due to the reflection. It was a heavy impact that dealt some great damage to Gyarados. Not only that, but it had to recharge thanks to the aftereffect of Hyper Beam.

"Go, Gothitelle! Reuniclus! Dark Pulse and Psyshock on Gyarados!"

"Gothitelle!" Gothitelle and Reuniclus would team up on Gyarados. Reuniclus had ended the clash with Electivire, pushing the Electric-Type Pokemon back. Gothitelle and Reuniclus had both manifested massive forms of energy via an aura of Darkness and three thick masses of Psychic energy.

"Electivire, Protect!"

"Elec!" Electivire quickly ran to Gyarados' side, becoming its guardian. Once the attacks were unleashed, Electivire put his hands out, forming a wide barrier of energy. The attacks crashed into the barrier with great intensity, however, they had been blocked. Not only that but Gyarados had been given enough time to recharge thanks to Electivire.

"Now, Gyarados! Ice Fang!"

"Gyara!" Gyarados had then flown over, fangs bared and coated in a chilling aura of ice.

"Gothitelle! Gravity!"

"Telle!" Only for Gothitelle to absolutely put an end to that. The moment Gyarados had flown over Electivirie, Gothitelle had used Gravity swinging her arms downwards and manipulating the gravity around not just Gyarados but also Electivire.

"Gya!" Gyarados had been forced down, immediately crashing into Electivire. Electivire didn't see it coming as Gyarados had been dropped on it, resulting in a double hit. Paul narrowed his eyes, but he wasn't too worried about it.

"Elec." The smoke cleared after the double impact as Electivire was getting back up, pushing Gyarados off of him. As for Gyarados, it had fainted, unfortunately.

"Gyarados..."

"Gyarados is unable to battle! Gothitelle wins!"

"Thank you, Gyarados. Return." Paul closed his eyes, returning his Pokemon. Olympia had quickly turned the tides to her favour. Now, Paul was down to four Pokemon.

"No need to get nervous, right? He still has more." Sonata scrunched her face, feeling nervous.

"By that look on his face, yes," Aria observed Paul's current emotions. He knew that he could keep this all under control, even if he was down two Pokemon.

"Brionne."

"Electivire. You should return as well." Paul held out his next Poke Ball before then returning Electivire for a while. He stood there for a second, pondering his next approach. How would he deal with the rest of Olympia's Pokemon? He was already expecting the double Meowstic and the return of Sigilyph. Paul knew what he needed to do.

"I can sense that you've made up your mind," said Olympia. "Normally, I would feel nervous about what my opponent will do next."

"It wouldn't hurt to be flashy next. Metagross! Drapion! Standby for battle!" Paul brought Metagross back and Drapion as well. However, Drapion was still frozen. But the second Metagross emerged, it had stomped on the ground, shattering the ice with sheer power alone.

"Metagross!"

"Drapion!" Drapion roared once it was freed from the ice.

"Let's go for a double knockout! Metagross! Agility! Drapion, Night Slash!"

"Meta!" Metagross suddenly moved at great speeds, increasing its speed while also instantly appearing next to Reuniclus.

"Reuniclus, Fire Punch! Gothitelle, Dark Pulse!"

"Reuniclus!" Reunicus shared a super-brain, much like Metagross, making the two of them almost alike. However, Metagross possessed the speed advantage as the moment Reuniculs went to punch Metagross, the Steel-Psychic-Type had zoomed to the side, evading the swing. Reuniclus tried again, attempting to strike Metagross but its fellow Psychic-Type continue to evade with Agility.

"Dra!" Drapion had sliced through Dark Pulse with Night Slash, meanwhile, charging in and approaching Gothitelle with a streak of darkness.

"Evade and use Energy Ball!"

"Goth!" Gothitelle suddenly spun to the side, evading Drapion's swing while also generating an orb of nature. However, Drapion wouldn't stop there.

"Grab Gothitelle!"

"Dra!" Drapion's tail had come into play once more, wrapping around Gothitelle's body the moment she evaded by twirling to the side. That was all for nought as Drapion's tail had caught her, interrupting Energy Ball.

"Goth?!"

"Meteor Mash!"

"Meta!" At the same time, Metagross went for Meteor Mash, pulling back and gaining some acceleration. It would fly right in with Reuniclus narrowing its tiny eyes.

"Now, Reuniclus, fly up and use Psyshock!"

"Reu!" Reuniclus had levitated upwards, causing Metagross to pass by. But that's exactly what Paul wanted as a smirk graced his face. Olympia gasped, seeing that Metagross was heading in the direction of Drapion and Gothitelle.

"Dra!" Drapion had then thrown Gothitelle, sending her towards Reuniclus. Reuniclus had halted Psyshock, so as to not harm its own teammate. Reuniclus had used its strong arms to catch Gothitelle, almost falling over from the speed she was thrown at.

"Meta!" Right afterwards, thanks to the speed increase of Agility, Metagross redirected Meteor Mash, taking to the skies and going for both of its fellow Psychic-Type with great velocity.

The Multiplying Pokemon and the Astral Body Pokemon gasped as Metagross crashed right into her at full force. Paul predicted that Olympia would use another evasion tactic. Thus, he capitalized on it.

And it worked out in his favour. Metagross backed away as Gothitelle and Reuniclus were both seen falling from above, crashing down. Just like Paul said, he was going for a double knockout.

"Gothitelle..."

"Reuniclus..."

"Both Gothitelle and Reuniclus are unable to battle! Drapion and Metagross win!"

"Yes! A double knockout!" Sonata stood up, clapping her hands as Adagio had shown some increased interest in this as well.

"Now there's just only three left." Aria leaned in, holding Brionne close to her.

"Bri!"

"Good." Paul smiled. This was part of a bigger plan. Paul knew that Olympia's aces Meowstic were the best at coordination. They bounced off each other after all and make for an amazing team. However, since Sigilyph was still active and Paul had just knocked out two Pokemon instead of one, removing a spot for Sigilyph that Olympia was saving up, he had just thrown a wrench in Olympia's plans.

And Olympia knew this. She would either have to go along with her double Meowstic plan and risk having Sigilyph be on its own. Or, send one of the Meowstics out and have Sigilyph team up with them with less amazing synergy. Or even the risk of having one of the Meowstic faint and then Sigilyph would take their spot. Either way, Paul had changed the tides to his favour with this double knockout.

"For the first time...I'm stumped." Olympia smiled. "No one has ever done this to me before. This is only proof that I was right to see the stark potential in you."

"Thanks. Now, what will you do, Olympia?" Paul questioned. "I've still got a lot left for you and your Pokemon. "Bring them out. Your Meowstic."

"It isn't over yet, Paul." Olympia held two Poke Balls out in an X-shape before then throwing them out. "Meowstic! Sigilyph!"

"Meowstic!" She ended up going with one of the Meowstics. In this case, it was the Female Meowstic.

"Sigilyph!" And Sigilyph ended up being chosen instead of the Male Meowstic.

"I can sense this battle is nearing its end. And I will make sure that I emerge victorious. Sigilyph, Heat Wave! Meowstic, Thunder Wave!"

"Meow!" Two waves were unleashed. One with the intent to deal damage and the other to paralyze. Respectively, Metagross would be burnt while Drapion would receive some paralysis.

"Cross Poison and Psychic!"

"Meta!" Metagross' eyes had illuminated a baby blue colour before telekinetically controlling the blast of fire. Heat Wave had almost reached Metagross, barely. But, Metagross managed to hold it in place, shooting it back at Sigilyph.

"Sigilyph!" Sigilyph received a blow from its own attack, flying back. Meanwhile, To counter Thunder Wave, Drapion had used Cross Poison, spinning once more. That Toxic Tornado had returned, acting as a shield to block Thunder Wave, preventing paralysis while also approaching Meowstic.

"Quick, Meowstic! Get on top of Sigilyph!"

"Meowstic!" Just then, Meowstic had performed a stylish backflip, reaching Sigilyph. This not only helped her evade the tornado of poison, but this would grant some synergy between her and Sigilyph. Meowstic got on Sigilyph's back, temporarily using it as a ride. "Meow!"

"Let's see how you deal with this. Dark Pulse! Power Gem!"

"Meow!" Meowstic would attack from above, holding her hand out as she unleashed a pulse of darkness right afterwards. And Sigilyph would add to that by using Power Gem, causing to fly next to Dark Pulse.

"Pin Missile!"

"Dra!" Drapion would face the rays and beam with Pin Missile, shooting out multiple light arrows that immediately clashed with the attacks. Power Gem and Pin Missile had a fierce back and forth, but Dark Pulse managed to break through some of the pins thanks to Power Gem holding the rest of them back, leaving few for Dark Pulse. Thus, the blast had blitzed towards Drapion, knocking it back. "D-Drapion!"

"Metagross! Meteor Mash! Get up there!"

"Metagross!" Metagross would approach those two, already having the ability to take to the skies. And with the power and speed of Meteor Mash, it would reach them undoubtedly. But this time, Olympia was ready for Meteor Mash.

"Time for a pincer attack! Heat Wave and Dark Pulse!"

"Meow!" Just then, Meowstic had separated from Sigilyph, jumping up while Sigilyph ended up ducking. Aiming for a pincer attack, Meowstic and Sigilyph attacked at the same time from top to bottom. A wae of heat along with a pulse of darkness had been sent towards Metagross once its attack had missed.

"M-Meta!" A double super-effective hit from both sides. That stung Metagross badly, resulting in the hardest hit in this entire battle so far. The Dazzlings gasped at this amazing pincer attack, knowing that would spell bad news for Metagross. And it did. Metagross dropped from that devastating combo attack. Meowstic landed back on Sigilyph, containing to use this tactic. "M-Metagross..."

As for Metagross, it had fainted. That double attack was devastatingly strong. Even after limiting Olympia's synergy with both her Meowstics, she found a way to work around it and claim victory.

"Metagross is unable to battle! Meowstic and Sigilyph win!"

"Hmph. You did well, Metagross. Get some rest." Paul called back Metagross as now he was down to just three Pokemon, making it even for both sides. "So much for screwing up your Meowstic plan. You worked around that fast...just what I was expecting from a Gym Leader."

"Thank you." Olympia bowed her head. "Though, I'll admit I was feeling stuck on what I would do next. However, as a Pokemon Trainer, you must always find an alternative."

"Same advice I gave to that filly." Paul smiled. "Finding an alterative's always the way to fight back in a fierce battle. Glad we agree on that. But...I don't need to think of an alternative to know what's coming next. Go! Garchomp!" Paul sent out his next Pokemon. His Garchomp.

"Garchomp!"

"Let's get physical! Night Slash and Dragon Claw!"

"Gar!" Garchomp went ahead first with Drapion following right afterwards. Paul wanted to get rid of the even numbers as soon as possible. This time, it would be brute force as the next approach.

"I think not! Dark Pulse! Power Gem!"

"Sigil!" The same attack combination would be unleashed on the two beastly Pokemon. Garchomp tore through the gems while Drapion clashed with Dark Pulse, already occupied with it. Garchomp ascended, taking to the skies whilst clawing away at the gems.

"Quick! Evade, then use Tailwind and Future Sight!" Olympia saw that she needed to change up the winds themselves, just to deal with Garchomp's speed. Meowstic already started by warping space itself, sending five orbs into the air before they then vanished.

"Pin Missle! Stone Edge!"

"Drapion!" Drapion had finally finished dealing with Dark Pulse before shooting light arrows.

"Gar!" Garchomp ceased Dragon Claw, quickly switching into Stone Edge. Large rocks were summoned around it as the Mach Pokemon would approach them at the same time. The pins and the arrows followed Sigilyph and Meowstic with Meowstic jumping to evade some of the pins that came close. They flew across the entire area as it was a high speed pursuit.

"Descend!"

"Si!" Sigilyph then dove down, halting Tailwind and waiting for the right moment to use it as it was approaching Drapion. Drapion was ready to slash Sigilyph with Night Slash, only for Meowstic to intercept.

"Dark Pulse!"

"Meowstic!" Meowstic unleashed Dark Pulse before Drapion could use Night Slash. A blast of darkness crashed into Drapion as Sigilyph immediately flew back. Drapion itself was sent flying, but it wouldn't be the only Pokemon to be struck.

After evading most of them and getting some time to catch its breath, Sigilyph flapped its wings, ready to unleash Tailwind, only for Garchomp to unleash some extra stones.

The stones came flying in at rapid speeds, crashing into SIgiylph's wings and interrupting Tailwind. Sigilyph had not only had its wings been struck but super-effective damage had been dealt as well, causing it to lose its balance. Meowstic jumped off as the remainder of the stones crashed into Sigilyph, knocking it out of the sky. After battling for a while, Sigilyph finally gave out. Stone Edge did the trick.

"Sigilyph..." Sigilyph had fainted. But not just that, Drapion had fallen as well, thanks to Meowstic's Dark Pulse.

"Drapion..."

"Both Drapion and Sigilyph are unable to battle! Garchomp and Meowstic win!"

"And that just leaves one more..." Paul was ready for the Male Meowstic as the odds were stagnant due to this double knockout from both sides. This was a fearsome back and forth and the Dazzlings were loving every bit of it.

"This is too exciting..." Adagio commented. "These human battles are far beyond what we've seen in Equestria..."

"Come on..." Aria bit her thumb, praying for Paul's victory as he had two Pokemon left along with Olympia. But Olympia's perfect synergy team was about to be unleashed, making the odds fluctuate.

"Thank you for your amazing efforts, Sigilyph." Olympia returned Sigilyph. "Take a good long rest."

"Thanks for that, Drapion." Paul had also returned his Drapion.

"I'm somewhat terrified for the trainers that have to face you since you'll become a Gym Leader soon," Olympia commented before holding out the final Poke Ball. "But this has been a fun battle, either way. Thank you for this, Paul. However, it ends now, sadly."

"I agree..." Paul held out his final Poke Ball as well. "Electivire! Standby for Battle!"

"Go! Meowstic!"

"Electivire!"

"Meowstic!" Finally, the Male Meowstic emerged as Electivire returned to the battle. It would all come down to this. This fierce confrontation would reach its conclusion.

There was a moment of silence as the Dazzlings scrunched their faces. The next choice of moves would decide the victor of this battle. Paul closed his eyes for a moment, thinking deeply. Something propped up in his mind. As always, he had a plan and he was going to make sure it was executed.

"Let's go! Thunder Punch! Dragon Claw!"

"Elec!" ELectivire and Garchomp would go first. Olympia couldn't afford to waste time.

"Helping Hand and Psyshock!"

"Meow!" The Male Meowstic would assist the Female Meowstic, clapping his hands and granting her extra strength. And the Female Meowstic could feel this power increase. The Female crouched her body as three thick masses of light blue, dark blue, and purple energy formed around the front of her body. Meowstic then fired the masses at the opponents, one after the other.

"Gar!" Garchomp had been blocked by the first one, slashing its claw into it. "Gar...!"

"Elec!" Electivire was stopped by the second one, smashing his fist into the mass. And as for the third one, that was a wild card. Along with the second wild card. Future Sight.

It popped out of space itself, with all five orbs heading for Garchomp and Electivire.

"Gah! Future Sight!" Paul gasped as Future Sight came from the side, striking his Pokemon. Garchomp and Electivire received the damage, allowing for the third Psyshock to hit Garchomp.

"Thunder and Stone Edge!"

"Electivire!" Electivire and Garchomp recovered quickly, unleashing some ranged attacks. A giant blast of electricity along with large crystals were sent forward in retaliation.

"Dual Psyshock!"

"Meow!" Both Meowstics had used Psyshock in unison, unleashing six thick masses of Psychic energy. They had clashed with the crystals and the blast of thunder with superior numbers. Those numbers soon became one as the masses had merged into one bigger Psyshock beam. This large beam broke through the crystals and overpowered the electric blast.

"E-Electivire!" Electivire and Garchomp were both engulfed by the giant beam of Psyshock, being blown back. Aria gasped, standing up as this was getting serious. Paul's chances were slipping.

"Draco Meteor!"

"G-Gar!" Garchomp's eyes flashed as it had recovered in the air, Garchomp had then shot an orb into the air as it soon became multiple meteors of draconic energy that came raining down.

"Light Screen and Dark Pulse!"

"Meowstic!" The Male Meowstic would increase their defences against attacks such as Draco Meteor, coating themselves in a mystical aura. As for the Female, she would try and fight the meteors with Dark Pulse, shooting it out at a wide angle.

"Thunder Punch!"

"Vire!" Meanwhile, Electivire would advance, having Thunder Punch active. Dark Pulse managed to get rid of some of the meteors but a few had slipped y, hitting the floor near Meowstic, causing an explosion.

"M-Meow!" And thanks to the collision, a smokescreen had been formed, allowing Electivire to take advantage of this.

"Be aware, you two!" Olympia shouted out.

"Electivire!" Electivire appeared behind the Male Meowstic, socking him in the back with Thunder Punch. He was sent in the direction of his teammate, crashing into the Female Meowstic.

"M-Mewostic!"

"Good! Now Dragon Claw!"

"Gar!" The smoke cleared as Garchomp rushed in at Mach speeds, smashing both Meowstics at the same time once they crashed into each other thanks to Electivire. A heavy blow, but not enough to take them both out. The two Meowstics recovered before snarling at their opponents.

"Let's finish this!" Both Paul and Olympia shouted.

"Psyshock!"

"Thunder and Dragon Claw!"

"Garchomp!" Garchomp went ahead of its teammate while Electvire would stand back. Meanwhile, both Meowstics had combined their Psyshocks into that same massive Psyshock blast from before. The six masses merged to create this devastating beam. This looked like it would be the final attack as Sonata and Aria held onto each other.

"Now! Use it on Garchomp!"

"Elec!" But that's when Paul's secret plan had been revealed. Electivire's Thunder wasn't heading for the Psyshock. Instead, it was focused on Garchomp. Paul had used Garchomp's immunity to Electric attacks to his advantage.

Garchomp was covered in an electric aura that would act as a barrier. Electivire poured a lot of power into this attack, making the aura of electricity great as Olympia gasped, surprised by Paul's approach.

Thanks to this combination, Garchomp had powered through the Psyshock beam after smashing its head into it. Ith brute force and the aura of Thunder, Garchomp had not only flown through the beam, but it ended up slashing past both Meowstics in the blink of an eye.

Psyshock had dispersed, leaving behind some white sparkles as both Meowstics had dropped to the ground. There wasn't an explosion. They just simply dropped. Everything calmed down as the two Psychic-Types had fainted.

"Meowstic..."

"Both Meowstics are unable to battle! Electivire and Garchomp wins! Which means the winner of this battle is Paul!" The referee announced it as Paul seized victory.

"He did it! Yes!" Sonata and Aria jumped up as Adagio did a light clap, closing her eyes and acknowledging Paul. Aria quickly realized how energetic she was before using Sonata off her.

"And that's that Excellent work, you two." Paul said to them both, walking over.

"You were magnificent. Both of you." Olympia held up both her Meowstics. "We still have ways to go. The scope of the Pokemon World and the strength of every trainer that emerges is only increasing rapidly."

"Meow."

"Nice, Paul!" Sonata ran over, coming to a screeching halt. "That was the best battle we've seen so far!"

"Nice stuff." Aria nodded while walking over. "You had us nervous there for a bit."

"I banked it all on that final attack. I didn't want to reveal my strategy until the end. That way Olympia wouldn't think of a way to counter it."

"And you did an amazing job with that," Olympia replied. "You may be a Gym Leader in training, but you're already a mighty and capable Gym Leader in my eyes, Paul. What you've shown here has been stellar in every way. Thank you again, for giving me such an entertaining battle."

"Yeah. It's been an honour." Paul bowed his head.

"But with those skills...you could become an Elite 4 Member. Or even a contender at the Pokemon World C-"

"I'll stick to being a Gym Leader." He interrupted Olympia.

"Very well then. Now, I have a festival to continue, but I can expect great things from you when you finally get your Gym, young man."

"Where are you gonna go now, Paul?" Sonata asked. "You said you were gonna head here, right?"

"Wherever I can. This festival has many options with many things to do. I need to keep honing my skills as a Gym Leader. You all continue searching for your fellow sirens. I'm still doing my own thing."

"They're not here at Anistar City, so it's back on the road. But ya know...we could always give you a ride to wherever you wanna go. If you want." Aria turned away, crossing her arms.

"Sure. I'll take one." Surprisingly, Paul agreed this time, causing Aria's eyes to open. She was expecting him to reject and do things on his own.

"Awesome!" Sonata put her arms around both of their shoulders, pulling them in. "It's gonna be great talking to you along the road! I knew you'd come around eventually!"

"S-Sonata!" Aria growled, trying to break free.

"It's only for a bit." Paul sighed before putting on a smile. The old him would be annoyed by this. But this was the new Paul. Aloof and calm as ever but stronger than ever.

His road to becoming the newest Gym Leader would continue and Olympia would be looking forward to when that day comes. Right now, the Pokemon Festival was waiting for them for more to see and there were more Gym Leaders for Paul to take on as the journey continues.

Chapter 847 End.
