The moon shines above the cliff as I slowly pad up toward it. My shape changes, from a human to a fox to a dragon to so many more before finally settling on the form of a reformed changeling queen, cerulean wings with a sky blue mane.
The figure at the top of the hill turns as I approach, a slight grin outlined on his face against the moonlight. Then he wavers and starts to fall before I rush forward to grab him, his long, snakey body ending up in my front hooves.
"Discord." I say with a smile. "Are you alright?"
He grins up at me. "Of course, my darling. You should never doubt me, you know." His eagle claw boops my snout and I blink.
"We all know you are not infallible, Discord." I shake my head, remembering the many times Discord has gotten into trouble because he believed he was too powerful to ever be tricked. I slowly set him down and make sure he is steady before turning to gaze out at the field of wildflowers below. The beauty of this night inspires me to say something beautiful as well. "I know I could never fill in for Fluttershy. But I'm hoping that I can at least ease the pain."
I feel his lion's paw wrap around my shoulder. "You already have."
