//------------------------------// // Black and White // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Unova. The Pokemon Festival. Castelia City. Afternoon. The Pokemon Festival and its first week were underway. Currently, both Twilights were eating together after meeting up for a second time. While they were doing that, Rainbow Dash was fixated on finding one of the Elite 4 Members and challenging them as that was a free option for this year's Pokemon Festival. And at the same time, the vampires were present here, fixated on Yveltal while blending in during this festival. A lot was going on. New visitors were coming in, especially from other worlds that were parallel to the nation of Equestria. Castelia City didn't have just one gateway, there was another. Another gateway was located within this city, making it the one place in the Pokemon World with the most gateways, despite there being only a second one, so it wasn't a high bar. There was a gateway that blended in well with the walls. Some graffiti had been sprayed on the walls in one of the back alleys, residing there for years now. The colours of this graffiti worked well with the gateway colours, making it seamless in a way. Not only that, but the gateway was practically inside the walls, giving it a tad bit of stealth. However, this gateway did not lead to Equestria at all. It led to another world parallel to this. And the two individuals emerging out of it were proof of that. Two voices echoed throughout the gateway as new visitors were coming through. "Ow-ow! Hilbert, you're stepping on my foot!" "You're stepping on my foot too, Hilda!" The two voices were bickering as they had emerged out of the gateway, pushing each other. Another parallel Pokemon World. This is where this gateway connects to. And the two individuals that came out of it were Pokemon Trainers that were already familiar with this place. Hilbert and Hilda. "Ow..." Hilbert held his foot. "It seemed wide from the outside..." "Guess it's narrow on the inside. I hope they all aren't like this." Hilda replied. "But we're here. This is the parallel world Brendan talked about." "Oh yeah. It sure is." Hilbert and Hilda took a gander at this new world. They could already feel a great sense of familiarity here. But that wasn't just because of the fact that this was another Pokemon World. They've been here before. In this region specifically. "It feels a lot like Unova. As if we never met." "That's because it is Unova. Check it out." Hilbert poked his head out of the back alleys, spotting the Central Plaza, also known as the Castelia Central Area. They recognized that large flowing fountain that is said to bring people and Pokémon together and the vending machines. Their eyes would not deceive them. "Castelia? What are the odds Unova's the place where we end up first?" Hilda gawked, surprised that they ended up back at Unova, their home region. "Pretty weird. What do you think this version of Unova is like? I bet it's all kinds of crazy." "Ethan told us that it's got a lot more to offer than our world," Hilda replied. "But how different could it be? Aside from all the colourful ponies around." "How much you wanna bet it's got a creepier mood to it than usual...And if you lose a Pokemon Battle, you lose your soul!" Hilbert tried being scary, wiggling his fingers in a claw motion, trying to scare Hilda. And it worked to some degree. "Cut it out, Hilbert!" Hilda bellowed. "Kidding! Come on! Let's not miss out on it!" Hilbert went ahead with Hilda following right afterwards. It was time for them to see what made this version of Castelia different from theirs. They would obviously partake in the activities that the Pokemon Festival had to offer. The two of them ran down familiar streets, recognizing certain patterns along the way. At the same time, Ash and Delia had finally arrived at Castelia City after having some fun over at Kanto. "This way, mom!" Ash shouted out as he and Hilbert had run past each other without either one acknowledging their fellow Pokemon Trainer. "Did this city get bigger or something? Twilight!" Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash had flown over Hilda, searching for Twilight and Sci-Twi. She would eventually find them via a higher aerial view. "Ooh, something smells good." Hilda was attracted to a nice scent as she went in direction of the food, passing by Twilight and Sci-Twi, heading for that same food stand they went to. "There you are, Ash. Finally." Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Sci-Twi approached Ash. "Now that you're here, we can really get this thing started." "Have fun, all of you." Delia would go her own away along with Mr Mime. I'll be occupied in Unova. But you might catch me in Virbank City. "Ash. Check this out. Have you seen this flier?" Rainbow Dash showed the Elite 4 flier to him. "I sure did." Ash already had one in his possession, revealing it to Rainbow Dash. "They're kinda hard to miss. I saw some of them back at Kanto." "Then you gotta know I wanna battle some of them. To see where I am. I asked Twilight if she wanted to battle with me. Ya know...to get myself ready for when I face one of them. What do you say, Twilight?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Hard pass. I'm not up for that." Twilight immediately declined. "But, if you'd like to quickly test yourself, you can always try out the arenas. The Pokemon Festival always has a battle arena since Pokemon Battling is the biggest thing in the world. Go for that." "Hm-hm. You're right. I could just do that. Alright then!" Rainbow Dash decided on it. "I'll do that. And the first Elite 4 Member I wanna try and face is her. Caitlin. I-If she's the one I find first." Rainbow Dash would head to one of the areas for a quick warmup. There was always one more somewhere in the Pokemon Festival, so they weren't hard to miss. She wouldn't be the only one heading to the arenas. Hilbert was off to do the same thing. While Hilda got something to eat, Hilbert drew his attention to the various battle arenas here. Dozens of opportunities for a battle, just sitting there across Castelia City. Of course, it was only once a year. "Well, it is Castelia City, alright. But there's some stuff I've never seen before." Hilbert said as Hilda followed him, eating at the same time. "Wonder what our home town looks like..Wait?! Could we meet our doppelgangers?!" "Ethan said that he has a doppelganger here, but he hasn't met him yet. We could have doppelgangers. Or not." Hilda shrugged before stuffing her mouth. "Mmm! Haven't had this in Castelia before though!" "Maybe in this world...trainers are significantly stronger. Maybe. Only one way to find out." Hilbert stopped by one of the arenas to have a quick battle. Right on cue, Rainbow Dash had also arrived at that same arena. "Ah! There's a trainer I can battle! This'll be some easy warmup!" "You talking to me?" Rainbow Dash realized that she had essentially been called weak in the words of Hilbert, hearing his sentence. "Mhm. Haven't battled since yesterday, so I need to do some catching up." Hilbert adjusted his hat. "What do you say? Battle?" "After what you just said, yeah! Let's do it!" Rainbow Dash accepted Hilbert's request as to be expected. A Pokemon Battle would take place between Hilbert and Rainbow Dash. Immediately, once the battle had been declared, rushing to the stadium was a referee. They were littered everywhere, waiting for trainers to initiate a battle. Ash already grabbed himself some of that food that both Twilight and Sci-Twi as well as Hilda had enjoyed. SPectrum Shade, who was a vampire that showed interest in Pokemon Battles had decided to sneak into the crowd, taking a gander at this upcoming battle. "After this, I wanna head over to a certain place in Kalos," Ash said to Twilight. "There's something I gotta check out." "Pikachu?" "Alright then. You're both only doing this for a bit...so please send out your Pokemon. You get three each." The referee said. "I only need one Pokemon for this. Let's go! Emboar!" Hilbert sent out his first Pokemon before holding his hat and launching the Poke Ball. "Emboar!" "Emboar?" Sci-Twi took out her Pokedex to get some data on Emboar. "Emboar. The Mega Fire Pig Pokemon. Emboar can throw a fire punch by setting its fists on fire with its fiery chin. It cares deeply about its friends. It has mastered fast and powerful fighting moves. It grows a beard of fire." "That's one heck of a name...but that won't scare me! Let's go! Mienfoo!" Rainbow Dash chose Mienfoo first. "Mienfoo!" Mienfoo bellowed out, trying to intimidate the first opponent within her sights. She noticed Emboar, standing upright. He was a big Pokemon so trying to size him up would be tricky. "Battle Start!" "Show them what you're made of, Mienfoo! Force Palm!" "Mien...Foo!" Mienfoo would go first, channelling her strength into her paw and summoning an orange energy before then rushing in. "Emboar! Use Hammer Arm!" "Emboar!" Emboar did the same, but for his entire arm, emanating that same energy. Emboar would meet Mienfoo in an up close and personal encounter. He swung his arm as Hammer Arm met with Force Palm creating a meaty and heavy impact that resulted in an immediate shockwave. However, upon meeting with Emboar's Hammer Arm, Mienfoo was immediately overpowered as Hammer Arm won the struggle, knocking Mienfoo and beating out her Force Palm. "M-Mien!" Mienfoo received a heavy lariat from Emboar's Hammer Arm, flying back. "Ah! Mienfoo!" Rainbow Dash gasped as Mienfoo recovered by sliding on the ground. "It's only a Mienfoo. Bit much, don't you think?" Hilda said to Hilbert. "Ah, it's fine. That just encourages her to try harder, doesn't it?" Hilbert laughed. "Hmph. You're gonna have to try harder once my Pokemon let you have it! Hit him fast, Mienfoo! Agility and Dual Chop, go!" "Foo! Mien!" Mienfoo would increase her speed, outlining herself in a white energy before then zooming forward. She would also summon draconic energy on her paws as she certainly had the speed advantage compared to Emboar. "Hooooh! That's fast!" Hilbert gawked. "But nothing Emboar and I can't handle! Fire Punch!" "Em...!" Emboar built up strength in his hands, sparking up an aura of fire. "Too slow! Now!" "Mienfoo!" Mienfoo managed to get a hit in, smashing her first paw into Emboar's face, creating some sparks. She then swung the second one, successfully landing Dual Chop. "Mien?" However, Emboar barely looked phased by it. He shifted his eyes to the side, staring directly at Mienfoo. "Boar!" After taking those two heavy hits, Emboar retaliated with a monstrous Fire Punch to Mienfoo's stomach. Once again, she had been knocked back but this time with a trail of fire. "Oh, no! Mienfoo!" Rainbow Dash cried out as Mienfoo crashed to the ground instead of recovering. She groaned after hitting the ground. All it took was two hits and that's all she wrote. Mienfoo had fainted. "Mienfoo..." "Mienfoo is unable to battle! Emboar wins!" "Sweet!" Hilbert pumped his fist into the air. "Awesome stuff, Emboar!" "Emboar!" "Tch...man..." Rainbow Dash grizzled her teeth as she wasn't fond of that swift knockout. But, she had to take it in stride and accept that she was going up against a powerful opponent. "Oh well. You did good, Mienfoo. Return." "Foo...!" Mienfoo smashed her fist into the ground, furious that she didn't get to do more as she had returned. "This isn't looking good," Twilight commented. "How's she going to do her best against an Elite 4 Member if this is how her first battle is turning out?" "Looking good, Hilbert!" Hilda shouted. "Just don't get too careless! Who knows what she could have next?" "Yeah, yeah, I got it. Alright, bring out your next Pokemon, my little pony." "Hmph. Fine. Let's go! Altaria!" Next up was Altaria as Rainbow Dash threw the Poke Ball into the air, summoning the Humming Pokemon. "Altaria!" "Oh. That could be a problem." Hilbert's eyes widened a bit as his smile turned into a frown. "Hmm...But I'm gonna stay in either way." "Of course you are..." Hilda shook her head. "Good luck then." "I don't need luck, Hilda! All I need is passion! Stone Edge!" "Emboar!" Emboar had an attack exclusively for Flying-Types in the form of Stone Edge as it had smashed the ground, summoning tall pillars of stone. "He's got passion on his side, Dash! Be careful!" Ash warned her. "Pikachu!" "That's nothing! Dragon Pulse!" "Al...Taria!" Altaria put some power into this Dragon Pulse, unleashing a raging blast that was in the shape of a dragon. Dragon Pulse had smashed through the stones as Altaria won this clash. Emboar received an impact that was enough to push him back as the dragon-shaped blast had combusted right on him. "Em!" "That's more like it! Hurricane!" "Taria!" Altaria could continue playing offensively from afar. She flapped her wings ferociously, generating enough power to generate a Hurricane. A large tornado had formed before then heading in Emboar's direction. "Okay. Maybe I do have to try harder! Charge through with Wild Charge!" "Emboar!" Emboar would meet with Hurricane directly. He stomped on the ground before covering himself in a bright yellow aura with electric sparks flying everywhere. The Mega Fire Pig Pokemon then took off like a rocket, charging headfirst into the Hurricane. With sheer force, he smashed into the Hurricane, holding it back. But surprisingly, he managed to break through the Hurricane, dissipating it before approaching Altaria. "Yikes! Hyper Voice!" "Altaaaa!" Altaria let out a beautiful melody with a powerful soundwave that echoed out. The soundwave was large enough to engulf Emboar's entire body, however, Wild Charge ended up breaking right through the soundwaves with brute force, smashing into Altaria. "Tari?!" "Ah!" Rainbow Dash gasped as Altaria had been knocked out of the sky by Wild Charge. Emboar received some recoil damage but managed to shake it off. As for Altaria, she was about to hit the ground before recovering right afterwards, flapping her wings. "That was close...This guy's good. I didn't think I'd bump into such a stronger than so soon..." Rainbow Dash couldn't believe how strong Hilbert was. Then again, she had no idea what kind of opponent she was facing as he came from a parallel world from this one. "Okay. I'm back in the swing of things." Hilbert stretched his arms. "I needed this kind of rush and excitement after what I went through yesterday." "Don't get too comfortable! Altaria and I are just getting started!" Rainbow Dash had acknowledged Hilbert's strength. And this allowed her to go all-out. Of course, that involved Mega Evolution. She touched her aerial goggles, activating the keystone as it resonated with the Altarianite. "Hm?" Hilbert passed for a moment before spotting the stone in Rainbow Dash's aerial goggles. "Hang on a second?! Is that...?!" "Oh, it is. You're really strong. Surprisingly strong. So I have a reason to use this. You're getting in the way of me challenging the Elite 4. So, we'll beat you as quickly as we can! Altaria! Mega Evolve!" "Altaria!" Altaria's body was enveloped by the power of Mega Evolution, causing a dazzling flare of Infinity Energy with crimson and golden colours flying everywhere. Out of this flare of energy, the Mega Evolved form of Altaria had appeared. Mega Altaria. "Altaria!" "Sick..." Hilbert gawked. "Let's do this! Moonblast!" "Taria!" Altaria was going all in, drawing power from the moon itself. She then turned it into a pink orb of Fairy Magic that let out beautiful pink sparkles for everyone to see. "This'll make it stronger than before! Not even Emboar can fully resist this!" Twilight exclaimed with joy. "Go!" "Altaria!" Altaria unleashed the orb as despite how beautiful it was, it moved with the ferocity of a rocket, tearing through the ground. "Cool stuff...But." Hilbert suddenly grinned before lowering his hat. "Hit it back with Hammer Arm!" "Em...!" Emboar hardened his arm as veins had shown up. And with all of his might, he smashed Hammer Arm into the incoming Moonblast, managing to catch its incredible speed. The impact of Hammer Arm meeting with Moonblast was both swift and fierce as the blast was sent back faster than it had approached. Altaria gasped as she had been hit by her own attack once it was deflected. And since she was still a Dragon-Type, this attack would do super-effective damage. A pink explosion had emerged from the impact with Rainbow Dash's mane and tail being blown in the wind. That Mega Evolution was for nothing as Altaria had fallen out of the pink smoke. Her body flashed as her Mega Evolved form had disappeared right afterwards. "Altaria..." Altaria had also fainted. "Altaria is unable to battle! The winner is Emboar!" "Phew. Almost got worried there." Hilbert chuckled before holding his Poke Ball out. "Okay, Emboar, take a break now. You were great." "Thanks, Altaria. Get some rest." Rainbow Dash sighed, upset that she lost twice in a row. The best she could do was force Hilbert to give Emboar a break. But not only did that mean she was down to one Pokemon but HIlbert had two healthy Pokemon. "Geez...What a bummer this is." "Hey, don't feel so bad," Hilbert said, grabbing her attention. "Say what?" "Truth is...I haven't had anyone last this long against me for like 6 months now." Hilber chuckled. "It's a relief that there are trainers out there that I don't have to speed through." "Ahem!" Hilda crossed her arms at Hilbert. "I'm standing right here! What about me and the others?" "Y-Yeah. You guys gave me a big challenge. But that was like 10 years ago." Hilbert rubbed the back of his head. "We already battled Hilda. But I'm just saying this pony here is better than I thought, ya know." "So, I'm the longest battle you've had since 6 months?" "Got that right. I was going crazy fearing that I'd never get something worthwhile again. Glad to see this world has something to offer me. But I'm still gonna beat you, so get ready." "Hmm...I can't use Rainbow-Braviary since I just used Mega Evolution. I'll pass out, no doubt. But even so, I can count on you, Braviary!" Finally, Braviary had emerged. "Braviary!" "Ooh, Braviary. I'll respond with my own then! Let's do this, Braviary!" Hilbert revealed that he had a Braviary of his own, sending him out. "If I can just beat one...I'll feel good about myself." Rainbow Dash grinned. "That's what I'm gonna do!" "Hoh? Bring it on then. Let's see if you can do just that." Hilbert encouraged Rainbow Dash. "Brave Bird!" Both Hilbert and Rainbow Dash had given out the same command. Both Braviarys had taken off at confounding speeds and blazing auras, leaving behind orange trails. At such great speeds, they had some powerful velocity that had a great impact once they clashed. "Braviary!" The two Valiant Pokemon had then ascended, keeping the aura of Brave Bird as they moved around in a spiralling motion before engaging in a fierce aerial battle. Their auras clashed in the air, leaving behind some sparks as each impact made a loud noise in the process. Two orange auras were smashing into each other ferociously "Viary!" Rainbow Dash's Braviary managed to blow Hilbert's Braviary back, causing him to slide to the ground. Rainbow Dash's Braviary on the Brave Bird clash, but he wasn't done as he chased down Hilbert's Braviary while he was on the ground. "Bra!" "I don't think so! Iron Head!" "Braviary!" Hilbert's Braviary had recovered, hardening his head as it was as hard as iron. The moment Rainbow Dash's Braviary came in close, Hilbert's Braviary used his fellow Valiant Pokemon's velocity against him, smashing his hardened head into Rainbow Dash's Braviary's head. They butted heads, but Iron Head won this exchange, not only causing some pain to both Braviarys heads, but the impact also knocked Rainbow Dash's Braviary away. Now he was the one sliding away. "V-Vi!" "Okay! Now, Close Combat!" "Bravi!" Hilbert's Braviary then ascended before covering his talons and wings with a blazing red aura, soaring towards his fellow Valiant Pokemon. "Superpower, go!" "Vi! Braviary!" Braviary would meet that attack with Superpower, gathering an orange aura around his wings and talons. He flew up, approaching the opposing Braviary. Looking at this battle reminded Ash and Twilight of Brandon vs Lightning Dust. It was somewhat similar for a moment, but there was something different about it. Superpower and Close Combat with another fierce clash ensuing. Hilbert's Braviary unloaded a barrage of wing smashes and talon kicks while Rainbow Dash's Braviary would counter with just slow and singular hits that were on par with those barrages. "Braviary!" Both Braviarys would bring an end to this as at the same time, they ended up hitting each other in the face with their talons. They both ended up pushing each other back in the process, spinning through the air. In the end, they both hit the ground right afterwards with such heavy hits. Hilbert got a bit stunned there, not expecting his Braviary to also drop. Two smoke clouds came about. And after those smoke clouds vanished, only one of them could potentially emerge victorious. Which was neither of them. They both fainted. The clash was fierce enough to where both of them were tied in their speed and strength. It was a double knocked. "Both Braviary are unable to battle! This match has been decided and the victor is the Trainer on the Right!" "Aaah...Hmmm..." Rainbow Dash calmed herself down. She didn't let out her anger or cry out in defeat. She took in stride before smiling. She ended up fainting one of his Pokemon after all. "Oh well. There's always a bigger fish. Thanks for your help, Braviary." "Braviary." "Nice stuff, Braviary. Thanks for trying to hang in there." Hilbert said to his partner. "Thanks to you, we won and I've found someone who can last longer than usual after 6 months." "Vi." "Well, are you satisfied now?" Hilda asked, walking up to Hilbert as others walked off once this battle was over, thoroughly enjoying it. "Sure am. If this is how skilled the ponies are...then I've got a peaceful mind," said Hilbert. "Hey, rainbow pony. Thanks for the battle!" "Huh? Oh uh, yeah." Rainbow Dash stood up with her Braviary. "I was gonna use this to try and get myself ready for the Elite 4 battle." "Is that what you were shooting for? Hah. Well, consider this a test run." Hilbert stood stall along with his Braviary who was still badly hurt. "You just went up against someone that's above an Elite 4 Member. You're looking at the Number One Trainer in the world. Hilbert Blair's the name." "Number one? As if. You beat them once, that doesn't make you number one." Hilda narrowed her eyes at Hilbert, shutting him down instantly. "Don't worry about that." But Hilbert preferred to make himself seem as massive as he could be. "Listen, my little pony. If you wanna get stronger and even go past the Elite 4, then how about you be my student?" "You always let things go to your head, don't you?" Hilda had an impressed expression. "Say what?" Rainbow Dash was visibly confused. "Yeah, yeah. Safe choice, ain't it? You'll learn everything from the best." "You don't even have Mega Evolution like her..." Hilda sighed. "How can you teach her everything?" "Don't sweat the small stuff." Hilber wagged his finger. "What do you say?" "You're an odd one. What's your name?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Hilbert. Number One." Hilbert finally introduced himself. "And this here's my great friend Hilda." "Hi. Guess it's a bit too late for introductions, isn't it?" Hilda waved at them. "Sorry for my friend, Hilbert here. He's got a big head, as you can see." "Hey. You gotta know when you're great, right?" Hilbert shrugged. "When you're a strong trainer, no shame in seeing just how strong you are deep down." "He's not wrong there," Ash added. "I can tell. That's some strength he's got." "Hm? Red! When did you get here?!" Immediately after seeing Ash, he was reminded of Red in terms of the hair and other qualities, pointing at the Alola Champion. "Me? Red? You kinda look like him actually!" Ash took a closer look at Hilbert, also spotting some similarities to Red. "Yikes...they're all so strong." Spectrum Shade shuddered. "How am I gonna compete with that...'ll just go to the Elite 4 Member before they do. Maybe I can get some pointers or a shortcut to some extra strength." She then departed from the crowd, vanishing from sight. "Oh, you're that guy that left behind your Pikachu seven different times. Or was it eight? Ah, it doesn't matter. It's pretty freaky that we'd meet after we came into this world for the first time." "We're also from another universe that's parallel to this one." Hilda stepped forward. "Ethan and Brendan told us everything already. Nice to meet you, at last, Ash Ketchum." "Great to meet you guys. I've been itching to meet more strong trainers from your world, ya know. Glad you could make it here, you two." "There are even parallel Pokemon Worlds?" Sci-Twi said. "You have no idea what else is there..." Twilight shook her head as Sci-Twi was barely scratching the surface of these various parallel worlds. "So, now that you're here, how's about we be your guides? Or uh...do you already know Unova?" Ash asked. "Oh, totally. We were born and raised here. This place is so familiar to us, especially Castelia. We wanna see what makes this place different though." Hilbert added. "And see what other similarities we can find," said Hilda. "Mind if we tag along with you all?" "Love to hear it! This is gonna be great!" Ash put his arm over Hilbert's shoulders while Hilbert did the same. "We're heading for one of the Elite 4 Members. Let's get going, shall we?" "Let's!" Hilbert was all for it. "And just follow my lead, my student." "I'm not your student!" Rainbow Dash protested as Hilbert automatically made Rainbow Dash his student without her even agreeing. A new party had been formed at the Pokemon Festival. Hilbert and Hilda. Hailing from another Unova Region from another universe had joined the Pokemon Festival as other visitors from other worlds were only going to keep piling on. Not just from Equestria's side. Despite the afternoon arriving, the day was still young for the Pokemon Festival. The first week wasn't close to finishing as the journey continues. Chapter 839 End.
