Discord's alarm rang as Discord got up, groggily. He proceeded to turn off the alarm and started to rub his exhausted eyes. Discord was extremely tired after the long practice date he and Trixie had last night. Discord yawned as he picked up the alarm, looking at the time. If the alarm itself didn't wake Discord up completely, then what was on the alarm definitely did.
"OH NO!! It's 11:30!! Now I only have 30 minutes to get ready!! Shoot, I shouldn't have slept in so late!!" Discord said, getting off the bed.
He quickly went inside his bathroom and started brushing his teeth and doing his other bathroom hygiene. After he was done with that, he quickly went back to his room and sprayed some cologne on himself. He left his bedroom, closing the door behind him, and went downstairs. He grabbed a banana that was on a nearby counter and then made a kangaroo pouch to put the banana inside. He left outside his house and teleported to Ponyville.
When he touched the ground, he immediately started sprinting.
"Please don't be late, please don't be late!" Discord said to himself as sprinted faster.
He ran there for a couple of minutes until he saw that he was at the Everfree Forest and slowed down. As he was walking, he could see a familiar face standing by a hut.
"Hey Zecora." Discord said, waving to her.
"Hello Discord, it's nice to see you here. Although if I may ask, what brings you so near?" Zecora asked.
"Well I'm in a time crunch, so I can't really talk that much right now. But, the shorter version is that I woke up pretty late and I need to head by Fluttershy's real quick so we could go on a date with each other this afternoon." Discord said.
"You're going on a date with Fluttershy, without wearing a shirt and tie?" Zecora asked, pointing at Discord.
Discord looked at himself and realized he forgot to put on a suit. He quickly used his magic and morphed himself into a nice blue seat.
"Thanks Zecora! Sorry, like I said before I woke up a bit late today!"
"It's okay, but make sure you hurry or else you won't have a date." Zecora said, pointing to the direction of Fluttershy's house.
"Oh yeah, thanks again Zecora!" Discord said, waving goodbye to Zecora.
He continued running to the direction of Fluttershy's house until he stopped and realized something.
"Oh wait, I can just teleport!" Discord said, snapping his fingers.
He then teleported himself in front of Fluttershy's house. He grabbed the banana that was in his kangaroo pouch and ate all of it, which included the banana peel. He then took a few minutes to check himself.
"My suit looks good. I also smell pretty nice. Okay……hopefully that practice date that me and Trixie went on payed off." Discord said as he knocked on the door.
He waited a few minutes, but no one answered. Discord shrugged and knocked on the door again. He waited even longer for this one, but the door still didn't open. This was strange to Discord because he could've sworn that it was noon right about now. He was about to knock a third, but he then heard a tiny creek and then the entire door opened.
"Oh….hello Discord." Fluttershy said, surprised.
"Hey Fluttershy, sorry it took me awhile to get here. I didn't realize what time it was and ended up sleeping late, but I'm here now!!" Discord said.
"Oh okay…um……you can come inside." Fluttershy said, opening the door wide open.
"Oh…but I thought we were going over to Luxurious Lunches." Discord said.
"Well……." Fluttershy said.
"Well what?" Discord asked.
Fluttershy looked at the floor for a few minutes and then looked back up at Discord.
"I….need to talk to you about something………"
"Oh….okay…." Discord said.
Discord went inside, with Fluttershy closing the door behind them.
"Do you want to sit on the couch while I make some tea?" Fluttershy asked.
"Uh sure." Discord said.
Fluttershy headed inside the kitchen while Discord sat on the couch. He waited as Fluttershy started making the tea. As he was waiting, he heard some footsteps coming down the stairs.
"Is anyone there?" Discord asked.
The footsteps got louder until the pony finally reached the bottom of the steps.
"Oh hey Discord." Rainbow Dash said.
Rainbow Dash had a white robe around her. It also looked like she just woke up since her mane was all riled up.
"Hey Rainbow Dash, I didn't expect you to be here…." Discord said.
"Yeah, it's surprising seeing you here too." Rainbow Dash said, yawning.
Suddenly, for some reason, Discord was starting to get a really bad feeling about all of this. He didn't know why but he felt like something was off. As he was thinking about all of this, Fluttershy came back to the living room with the tea. She gave one tea to Discord and the other to Rainbow Dash.
"Thank you." Discord said, holding his tea.
"Thanks Fluttershy!" Rainbow Dash said, drinking some of the tea.
"You're both welcome!" Fluttershy said.
Discord stared at his tea for a little bit before he took a sip and placed the tea on the table next to him.
"So um hey Fluttershy, you said earlier that you needed to talk to me about something. What exactly did you need to talk to me about?" Discord asked.
"Oh…right….." Fluttershy said.
She turned toward Rainbow Dash.
"Hey Rainbow Dash, could you give me and Discord some time to talk, in private?" Fluttershy said.
"Oh yeah, sure." Rainbow Dash said.
Rainbow Dash then walked up the stairs to Fluttershy's room, leaving Fluttershy and Discord in the living room by themselves. When she heard Rainbow Dash close her bedroom door, she then took a deep breath and sat next to where Discord was.
"Okay, do you remember when I told you, you had to leave because I had company over?" Fluttershy asked.
"Yeah…." Discord said.
"Well…..the reason why I said that was because Rainbow Dash asked me out a day prior. So when you told me you wanted to go out with me, I didn't know what to do." Fluttershy said.
"Oh……." Discord said, understanding what Fluttershy was saying.
"I didn't want to hurt you or Rainbow Dash's feelings, so I decided that I would go out with you to make both of you happy." Fluttershy said.
That bad feeling Discord had before started to come back, this time even worse. Discord didn't say anything though and kept listening to what Fluttershy was saying.
"When Rainbow Dash came over at first, the date started out normal. But as the date went on, me and Rainbow Dash became closer. It was to the point where we were so close that we……."
As Fluttershy kept talking, the bad feeling inside Discord became worse and worse. It was so bad that Discord couldn't hold the little tears that were slipping out of his eyes. It took everything he had to ask one question.
"So…um…..are you and Rainbow Dash……"
"Yes……look Discord I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you like this. I would've told you sooner, but……." Fluttershy said.
"It's okay……I know you weren't trying to hurt me or anything." Discord said, tears still in his eyes.
"Oh um……are you sure you're okay Discord?" Fluttershy asked.
"Yeah……I-I’m fine, I'll just um…….get myself some fresh air……." Discord said, with a shaky smile.
"Oh okay…." Fluttershy said.
Discord got up and slowly made his way over to the door. He opened the door and started walking outside. With each step he took, he could feel the pain in his heart hurting more and more. He kept walking until he couldn't take it anymore and collapsed on the ground, this time the tears became more rapid.
