Sonia wasn't wrong

The first misunderstanding

Sonia had just gotten back from the supermarket, she only got two chip bags for her and her friend, Star Shine, without knowing that her sister was visiting.

She walked into her house, carrying a bag in her mouth instead of using one of her forelegs, strange...

She then heard the sound of her TV coming form her living room.

"Hmm, I wonder what star's watching." Pondered Sonia to herself. "I'm bored so I might as well watch it with her." Sonia thought to herself while grapping the chip bags. She walked to the living room, and to her surprise, her sister, Sunshine, was sitting on her ottoman, talking to Star Shine.

"Hey sis, what'chu doing... you know, in my house." Sonia asked, who was trying not sound annoyed at Sunshine (Solaris)

Sunshine's nickname didn't fit her at all. She was the worst person to run into , she would nitpick at anything about you that wasn't "healthy" or "good looking" in her opinion, and she probably wouldn't be the best idea for a friend, since she left the last one with no confidence.

"Oh, I was in town and decided to stop by. BTW mom and dad told me to tell you to visit them sometime in the hills soon." Solaris replied

There's no way she would come here on a whim... she has to be here for a reason.

The three spent one hour watching TV, since there wasn't much to do at Sonia's house, and Solaris decides to point this out.

"There really isn't not much to do at your house sis, maybe we should stay at a hotel!" Solaris laughed, but still hiding an insisting tone.

Star Shine sat in front of the TV, looking brain dead. What had Solaris been saying to her while Sonia was out?

She seemed to not be listening, but was Star Shine really that interested in "Manespray"?

"So..."- Sonia started -"How's your new job uptown, Solaris?"

"Oh, I recently got promoted. I'm thinking of moving in with Onyx soon!" She paused for a second, "Haven't you just broke up with your boyfriend, Star?"

Sonia knew when Solaris was showing "fake sympathy", and this was it.

She tried to stay quiet as she waited for Star's answer, but still wanted to stick up for Star.

"...Yeah, he was *sniffle* t-the best!" Star cried out, as Sonia rushed towards her and gave her a giant hug.

Solaris stood to the side, holding in a judgemental statement over Star's ugly crying.

"Really, dear, lighten up. You'll never get a boyfriend looking like that..." Solaris then quickly shoved her hoof over her mouth, and Star's cries paused for a moment.

The two looked at her like she was crazy and stupid at the same time, with disgust at the same time for her repressed remarks.

"Solaris, get out."

"S-sis, you know it was just a joke...! I jus-" Solaris tried to recover herself, but was quickly cut off by Sonia with her own argument.

"No! You ALWAYS do this... you think I'm going to stand by and let you tear my friend apart!? Keep dreaming, maybe you should go visit mom and dad..."

Solaris took her saddlebag and made a sad exit, Star changed the channel on the TV to something she was much more accustomed to.

"Well, I'm really sorry about my sister... I shouldn't have let her get away with your voice." Sonia went to get a glass of water, but turned back to see Star smiling at her.

She smiled back, appreciating the moments after the storm.
