Prelude

The Harmonious Virtues

Before every pony must we plain and true stand. Integrity is thus first, lest inroads to our thoughts the Chaostfather should find. All may trust we know not his touch.

In each of our days must we delight. Joy is thus second, lest inroads to our hearts the Chaostfather should find. All may know we fear not his darkness.

Those who wrong us must we forgive. Compassion is thus third, lest inroads to our souls the Chaosfather should find. All may see we choose not his path.

To our fellow ponies must we freely give. Charity is thus fourth, lest inroads to our actions the Chaostfather should find. All may accept we have not his desires.

To the bonds between us must we hold. Duty is thus fifth, lest inroads to our nation the Chaostfather should find. All may find we stand not alone before him.

Cursed are they who forsaketh these virtues. Shunned will they be; they chooseth the ways of the Chaosfather, may he never again blighteth our land.

Blessed are they who cleaveth to these virtues. In they doth we the magic of Harmony find. In they doth the power to wash away chaos lie. The gift of Amra, the Lord of Day and Night, be truly this, for his hoofsteps leadeth us to the eternal light of Sun and Moon.

Amen.
