//------------------------------// // Short: Inside a Z-Crystal // Story: My Little Pokémon // by Amarvax //------------------------------// Equestria. Ponyville. Twilight's lab. Nightfall. "Alright...Let's see what you have in there." Currently, Twilight was up late at night, studying Z-Crystals of all things. It has been hours since her activity over at the Pokemon School had finished up and after Tobias told her that Z-Crystals are greatly connected to Arceus and act similarly to Life Plates, she had to figure it out for herself. She had three Z-Crystals at her disposal. The Psychium Z, The Fairum Z and the Normalium Z. Each were eligible for her all her Pokemon in one way. Whether by types or moves. She focused on all three crystals, aiming to dissect them. "Hmm...But if I want to look into them, breaking them apart is probably what I would do. But that would be a total waste. I need to find a way to look into them without breaking them..." The Princess of Friendship wondered. She had to think of something. While she was thinking almost all of her Pokemon were asleep aside from Absol who stood outside the lab. Spike and Starlight meanwhile were back at the castle, sleeping soundly. That's when it hit her. "I know. I have Rift Magic now. All I have to do is use that magic on an existing spell to make a better variation of it." Twilight said before narrowing her eyes at the crystal. She found a way to separate the crystals while also keeping their power. With her horn flashing a luminescent purple light, she managed to split the three Z-Crystals in half. Something that has never been done before. And once she split them, the Infinity Energy inside of the crystals had already shown itself in the form of Psychic, Fairy and Normal Energy. It lit the room up which was already lit as Twilight squinted from this overwhelming light. She had used her magic to protect herself while also using it to contain the energy. The Infinity Energy had been held back, maintained within the crystals as Twilight managed to keep their power there. Once she had the energy contained, Twilight was free to go the distance with further experimentation. "I did it!" She exclaimed with glee. However, seconds later, even if she managed to contain the Infinity Energy, separating the crystals still had a unique reaction. And that reaction involved Twilight herself as all three crystals shot out different light rays that had struck Twilight. It didn't hurt her at all, but what it did was suddenly pull her in. "Oh, wait!" Twilight felt her body suddenly leaving this spot as the moment she screamed, Absol rushed in, along with all of her Pokemon waking up in response to their trainer shouting. But it was too late. Twilight was gone. What was left was her outlined body with her signature purple magic glowing around her. The Pokemon had no idea what could've possibly happened to Twilight with this. Inside the Z-Crystals. Twilight found herself inside of the Z-Crystals. She let out a small gasp before opening her eyes. She got to see what it was like inside of the crystals and the flow of Infinity Energy. And what she was stunning to the eyes. Trillions upon trillions of stars were seen flying about. She was in a universe-like area that had Infinity Energy colours flowing around inside of the usual black void of space. These stars were also filled with Infinity Energy, representing the three types she had interacted with. Psychic, Fairy and Normal. They all zoomed by at swift and slow speeds at the same time. One of these stars got close to Twilight as she was jump-scared by it. This one appeared smaller. Ths entire appearance slightly mimicked that of what was inside a Rift Entity. Twilight gazed at the smaller star that the Psychic Infinity Energy, poking her hoof on it. The star reacted to Twilight's poke before then sensing the Psychic energy that she possessed thanks to Olympia's teachings. It resonated well with her, not causing a single volatile reaction. Twilight laughed at this strange but warm and nice feeling as the star zipped away. "So this is what it's like inside of a Z-Crystal?" Twilight gawked, flying past some stars while also touching them, making a beautiful sound upon contact. "I see that you're enjoying yourself." Just then, while Twilight was having fun surfing across the Infinity Energy cosmos, touching the stars and even flying through them, a voice spoke to her. A very familiar voice. "Arceus!" Twilight recognized Arceus' voice. His voice echoed through this plane but there wasn't a single physical body to be found. But there was an astral one. Right in front of Twilight, a golden light began materializing in front of her. The light particles formed an Astral Projection of Arceus, made out of his own light as he blended in well with this Infinity Energy plane. His light appearance was just as large as his real appearance. "Oh, uh...!" Twilight, after seeing Arceus, believed that she might've been caught experimenting on Z-Crystals. "This is uh...This is not what it looks like! I didn't think this would happen and-" "It's fine." But Arceus did not mind it. "Your experimentation has led you to not just the inside of the Z-Crystals but the flow of the Infinity Energy. The force that resides and permeates within our multiverse. From one world of magical creatures to another." "So this is the flow of it? I mean, I somewhat expected to see Infinity Energy inside. It's what powers everything Pokemon..." Twilight replied. "Oh, but while you're here. I learned that these crystals were greatly connected to you. They're similar to the plates that you have, correct?" "My Life Plates. Yes. They are extensions of my Life Plates." "Oh. That explains it." Twilight turned upside down while floating within this flow. Arceus' Astral Projection followed her while she moved at the opposite angle. "So, since they're extensions of you, you entrusted it to the people and Pokemon of Alola and the future generations, right?" "Not at all. And besides, I never entrusted much to the humans before. That was never the case. Not in the previous timeline." "Previous timeline?!" The concept of time had come up once more as Twilight got back in the correct angle, gasping as her curiosity had been elevated. "What do you mean by that, Arceus?" "The truth is, my little pony, humanity would've been destroyed. And you would've never met with Ash and many of your new friends from that world." Arceus said as Twilight froze for a second. "For you see, I once planned to destroy the human race, believing that I was bringing them to justice. I would've wiped them all out and you would never see me as how I am now. Or at all. I might've done the same to your world if the Rift were to ever combine our worlds." "O-Oh..." Twilight's heart skipped a beat. Everything that Arceus just said was downright terrifying. She felt like she was in imminent danger all of a sudden. "So...what changed?" "Thankfully. Ash and Pikachu and their friends prevented that. Alongside another good friend of mine. Damos. They saved my life while also revealing a truth to me that I was blind to. This all took place in the past. Because of them, in the present, I was able to come to my senses." "Sounds like a long story. So if you didn't go back in time to help make the Z-Crystals, what made them? They're still a part of you, right?" "The one who created the Z-Crystals was a being known as Ultra Necrozma." "Ultra...Necrozma?!" Twilight recognized that name anywhere. The Pokemon that Daybreaker currently owns. Its standard form, that is. But the Ultra part was new to her. "The creation of the Z-Crystals was the result of Ultra Necrozma losing all of its light. This goes for every Necrozma in every universe. Each have Z-Crystals. Ultra Necrozma, dare I say, is a magical creature that has enough light to rival mine. "Huh?! N-N-No way! Your light is way too much! There's no way that someone can rival it, right?" A nervous laugh left Twilight as she looked Arceus in the eyes. But Arceus was fully serious about this. "Unless...it can." "Never underestimate the limitless potential of magical creatures. But yes, I'm afraid so. This powerful light that matches mine can be viewed as something beautiful or a threat. The Necrozma of Ash's world has found peace with itself. But the one that you currently fear will attack you one day is a prominent threat indeed." "And Daybreaker's having Necrozma absorb as much light as it can..." Twilight shuddered. The visage of Daybreaker came into min das she viewed her in a background of crimson and destructive flames. And right within those flames, floating behind Daybreaker was Necrozma. "But...I suppose I should not frighten you with that information right now. After all, you and many others are prepared for what Necrozma will bring." "Mmm." Twilight nodded slowly. "We're growing stronger every day. Thanks to the lessons we learn from our teachers and the experiences we go through with Pokemon." "That is good to hear. Then I suppose this is the next step to growing stronger. Because I did not just come here to greet you. No. I came here to confirm the creation of a new Z-Crystal." "New Z-Crystal?!" Twilight stepped back. "Wait, do you mean..." "Even if Necrozma created the Z-Crystals, my power is still influenced by them. When they were made, my Astral Projection appeared in every Z-Crystal on that day. This is somewhat similar to how I arrived at them. And since you have entered the crystals, I have arrived to help make you form a new one, much like how Necrozma formed the others." "I get to make...my own Z-Crystal?!" Twilight's eyes lit up with excitement. She pranced around like a little filly, excited about this information while Arceus' eyes followed her. "This is so exciting! It was worth experimenting on them! So worth it! So, it'll be of my own power, right?!" "Your magic has influenced it. Therefore, it will contain parts of Equestrian Magic. And to an extent, you can thank the Harmony Phenomenon for this possibility. Truly an amazing force your world has discovered." "Hehe." Twilight stood proudly. "It's nothing, really. So, how do we make it? And...do I have to sacrifice one of my crystals to create it?" "Not at all. Necrozma and I, in a sense, are two sides of the same coin. I gave light, it takes light. Depends on the Necrozma from which universe, that is. But I can most certainly create a crystal just like it can. I will make a fourth crystal for you to keep. A crystal that is dedicated to you. But it is up to you to decide what is capable of." "Up to me?" Twilight repeated as a purple light appeared in front of her. Arceus' Astral Projection had lent some of his power into this light that perfectly mimicked Twilight's Cutie Mark. Arceus would build the mould of the crystal, but Twilight would have to be the one to choose the type of attack that was going to emerge from it. It was all her as Arceus used his power to form the crystal. She thought about it for a moment. The possibilities were vast. She was going crazy over it in her head as if she was a child again. And she absolutely loved it. After a while, Twilight had decided on it. "I've decided. But...if it's not a bother...can I involve you in it?" "Hm?" "Uh, yeah. I'd like to add your light to it Arceus. I don't know, it just feels so safe being around you, to be honest." She giggled. "Very well. I will add some of my power into this crystal." Arceus agreed. Once Twilight had decided on it, Arceus added the final touch. His light. The Light of Arceus entered the crystal as it combined with Twilight's Magic, Infinity Energy and a bit of Necrozma's power. And thus, a new Z-Crystal was made. "In the likeness of your name, it shall be dubbed the Twilightium Z. Use the power that is connected to you. And the Pokemon you have chosen for it." "I know who I've chosen. All of them." Twilight revealed that she assigned the power of this Z-Crystal to all of her Pokemon. Not a sole one but everyone. That included the ones at PokePark. "A generous choice." Arceus nodded in approval. "Then...I shall leave you to it. We will meet again, as always." Right afterwards, the Astral Projection of Arceus had left. Twilight's crystal dropped into her hooves as her time within the -Crystals had suddenly ended. Equestria. Ponyville. Twilight's Lab. Nightfall. "Oh!" Twilight had returned. She blinked for a split second, finding herself back in her lab. Her Pokemon were all surrounding her after gathering around her outline. Once they saw that their trainer was back, all of them, except for Absol had pounced on her. "Oof!" "Espeon!" Espeon and the others cried out with tears of joy, overwhelming Twilight. "Oh! Ow! Okay! You all can get off me now!" Twilight shouted while also chuckling. Her Pokemon separated, giving her space to breathe. And once they separated, that's when they saw it. The Twilightium Z. Twilight stood up, shaking her head and readjusting her mane. She held her hoof, showing the crystal. The Princess of Friendship then used her magic to raise it in the air as she was proud of it to the core. "Thank you, Arceus." And while looking at the crystal, she had to thank Arceus. Not just for helping make the crystal, but for everything. A soft smile graced her face before then yawning. Twilight then remembered how late it was and now that exhaustion had kicked in. "Oh...but first I need some rest." She slowly sat down on the floor, not bothering to head back to her bedroom. She was too tired to try anyway as the crystal dropped in front of her. Her Pokemon decided to continue sleeping next to Twilight. They all gathered around, getting into their favourite sleeping positions. Cinccino slept on her head, Espeon laid beside her while Togekiss and Ninetales wrapped their wings and tails around her. Ninetales had also used his body heat to keep them all warm for the night. After that, they were all soundly asleep with Absol keeping guard. As the journey continues. Chapter 805 End.
